Near Deathly Social Interactions

July 1st, 1973 is a day forever engrained in mankind's history. For that day was when the human race, who once stood at the top of the food chain, fell. When creatures, the likes of which were only ever thought to be fantasy, rose to power.

Now, the supernatural run the world, with humans containing only fragments of their once dominating power. Protected only by the wielders of five ancient holy artifacts, mystical gems known collectively as Adrias, a noble power.

With each gem containing a conscious of its own, they choose their wielders, granting them power and, in turn, binding them to an unbreakable, lifelong duty to protect the human race. Now, the time has come for new wielders to be chosen, but will their new contractors agree? For a war like no other is soon to unfold and our heroines may not be prepared.

No One's POV:

High School is meant to be the highlight of one's life. A time where young adults are able to test the boundaries of their newfound freedom in the safety of a government-controlled facility. (More like prison).

A time where people find themselves, discover who they are and who they want to become. Unfortunately, coming out of one's shell is a luxury that not everyone is afforded.

A young girl walks through the halls of Townsville High, bleach white locks blending nicely with her pale skin tone. She keeps her head down, albino-colored eyes looking everywhere but at another person. Ensuring that no eye contact is made.

Tightly, she clutches her textbooks close to her chest, afraid of losing them. Hastily quickening her pace, she tries to avoid any social interaction. Only to bump straight into the back of another person. Both the albino girl and a light brown-haired female go crashing to the ground. A loud, banshee like shriek ripping from the lips of the brunette.

Stunned, the first girl takes a moment to stare at the ugly tan of the tile floor. Only to be interrupted by the shriek of the screaming brunette, pissed that someone had the audacity to knock her over.

Looking up the girl notices the identity of her crash victim, paling at the sight. Princess
Morbucks, the nastiest zombie girl one will ever have the unfortunate chance to meet. With brittle brunette haired tied into a frizzy double bun style and a sickly gray color for skin, Morbucks is certainly the snobbiest, most entitled Karen one could anger.

"You", she screeches. "You ruined my new skirt you pathetic mute", hands gesturing to empathize a smudge of dirt barely noticeable on her dark jam colored article of clothing.

Petrified, the albino girl doesn't move, staring up at Princess in horror.

Suddenly, Princess raises her right hand, moving to smack the girl. Only for another pale hand to grab her wrist from behind. Turning around, Princess glares at the person bold enough to stop her from punishing the mute.

"Stop it", violet eyes glare back. "There's no reason to hit her you psycho brain eater!"

Bunny O'Hare, the school track star. With chestnut brown hair and un-natural purple eyes, she is the embodiment of beauty. For only a handful can rival her charming physique and happy-go-lucky personality. Characteristics which make her one of the most popular girls at Townsville High.

Infuriated, Princess snatches her hand back, forcefully pulling it out of the other girls grasp. Glare hardening at the new arrival. "What are you going to do about it human?" Princess questioned. Face contorting into a smug grin as her zombie girl posse of three snickers, moving behind her to size up the brunette. "You can't beat all of us alone!"

They stare at each other, Bunny's eyes never moving from Princess's, as if she's weighing her chances. Then, she hums as if reaching a conclusion to her dilemma. Deciding that she is indeed willing to take another suspension if it means bashing in the ugly undead girl's pale face. Though, before she can make a move, a voice rings through the air.

"Who said she's alone?" questioned the mysterious voice. The crowd, who had suddenly formed during their altercation, parting ways to permit another young girl through. Shoulder length jet black hair swaying with each step as lime green eyes reveal a hidden determination.

Buttercup Matsubara, a star athlete and the schools most renowned troublemaker. A grin makes its way across her face as Princess and her posse take a step back, remembering the pain they felt the last time they crossed her path.

Fisting her right hand, Buttercup brings her arm back, preparing to hit the snobby zombie.

"Wait" a feminine voice screams out, grabbing at the green-eyed girls raised arm. "You don't have to fight each other."

Bubbles Gotokuji, Townsville Highs very own cheerleading captain. Shiny blonde curls bounce in the confines of two pigtails, as sad baby blue eyes stare up at Buttercup, pleading with the other girl not to throw the first punch.

Princess, seeing the distraction as the perfect opportunity to strike, makes her move. Aiming to hit the blue-eyed beauty who dared to be in her presence. Unfortunately for Princess, Buttercup's reflexes are much faster. With her right hand, Buttercup grabs at Bubbles arm, yanking the girl behind her as her left hand forms a fist, punching the zombie girl square in the face.

Noticing that a fight has finally begun, Bunny takes aim, striking the posse girl closest to her. The two remaining members of Morbucks posse team up, jumping onto Bunny's back and pulling the brunette down to the ground.

Chanting rings through the halls, bystanders cheering at the ensuing brawl. Another girl pushes her way through the crowd, an exasperated sigh leaving her plump lips. Waist-length ginger hair swaying in a ponytail, as alluring pink eyes search for the reason behind the interruption in her daily routine.

Blossom Akatsutsumi, student council president with a genius level intellect. Locking her sight onto four figures in a tangle on the ground, she makes her way forward. Grabbing the violet eyed girl by the bicep, she yanks the girl onto her feet and away from the other three. Turning her attention to the remaining two fighters, she recognizes a familiar face. Buttercup, a royal pain in her behind, a girl whose middle name is trouble.

Glaring, Blossom brings her thumb and pointer finger to her mouth, letting out a loud whistle. The sound causes the two girls to freeze and the crowds chanting to cease. An awkward silence fills the air as all six girls stare at each other, each trying to figure out the others next move.

Sighing, Blossom brings a hand to her face, trying to will the stress away. Pointing to Bunny, then Princess, and finally Buttercup, she questions them, "How come one of you three always cause a problem the moment I turn my back to either of you".

No one answers, too stunned to answer. "Don't just stare at me like I have two heads, use your voices and answer me. No-" she snaps "You know what? Never mind, I don't even pertain the concern to care anymore". Huffing, Buttercup pushes herself away from the bratty zombie girl and to her feet.

Looking over to Bubbles, who had made her way over to comfort the white-haired girl still sitting silently on the ground, Blossom lips curve into a small, sweet smile. Mentally putting together the events that must have led to today's confrontation. Releasing her hold on Bunny's arm, Blossom walks over to the two girls, heels clicking on the tile flooring. Blossom holds her hand out the albino girl, who hesitantly grabs the outstretched hand that pulls her to her feet.

Looking at the crowd of bystanders again, Blossom makes a shooing motion with her hand. Instructing the crowd to scatter. Turning her attention back towards the girl, Blossom smiles one last time before making her own way towards Buttercup, grabbing her by the shirt collar and pulling her down the hallway, scolding her along the way. Bubbles grabs the white-haired girls' textbooks, handing them to her before rushing off to her class. Bunny also goes her separate way, but not before glaring at Princess one last time. Making an 'I see you' motion with her fingers.

Eventually, the few soles brave enough to linger also rush off to their own classes. Leaving the lone albino girl standing in the hallway, stunned and confused at the preceding events. Name printed in small, neat handwriting at the top of her textbooks.

Bell Blizzardo, an albino, mute, nobody in a school full of peculiar monsters and near deathly social interactions.

Patches of fire eat away at the burnt remnants of a once luscious forest. Ash falling from the sky and laying on the ground.

Located somewhere within these smoldering remains is a single figure, limping through the ash covered ground. Hands clutching at the blood pouring out of a wound on the figure's abdomen. Feet giving out beneath them.

A sarcastic chuckle emits from the figure's lips, blue eyes looking up towards a darkened sky. "I guess this is the end" the figure states, looking down towards a shining white gem, almost clear in its appearance. "It's been fun old friend". He coughs, dark red blotches of blood spouting from his mouth.

With one final breath, the figure lets go of the gem, hand following to the ground as his eyes close softly.

Moments later, the gem becomes engulfed in a bright white ball of light, shaking violently before shooting into the sky. There it flies towards the North, where it meets with four other gems, each glowing bright in differing colors.

Pink. Purple. Green. Blue. White. Five gems in total, each searching for a new wielder. For only those pure of heart are considered worthy of brandishing the power of an Adrias gem.

Meanwhile, in a place not far away from the destruction of the smoldering battlefield, lies another figure. This one cloaked in the shadows of the dark sky above. A pair of dark blue eyes glow as the figure's lips form a dark, malicious smile.

"Soon", a deep tone emits from the dark figures mouth, "Soon I will have those gems, and then no one will stop me. Not even those bratty little princes".
