Okay, this took way too long. I wanted to post this on Monday but I've been writing the last chapter for act one of My Life of Despair School which is almost done by the way just hang on for a little longer. So, since I take breaks on the weekends I decided to post it now. This is the finale chapter for the prologue act after that the game will begin. Except it might take awhile for me to update this story again I might work on it behind the scenes and post a chapter when the act is almost done I doubt it. But I want to work on my DR1 story for a little while but I won't forget this story I'm really happy where its going. Anyway I've kept you here long enough enjoy the chapter and don't forget to comment. :)

Chapter 4: Meeting the Ultimate? Students Part 2

When we went into the entrance hall, I saw Korekyo. I gave him a little wave, and he gave a nod of acknowledgment.

"So, if this is the entrance hall, that means this door should lead outside, right? If we go through here, we should be able to escape, right?" Kaede asked hopefully,

"I doubt it would be that easy. I bet the doors are locked or rigged to explode. Or worse." I replied, remembering our experience.

"Worrying about that isn't necessary. I have already examined the doors." Korekyo cut in, walking towards us.

"Oh, umm, thanks," Kaede thanked uncertainly,

"You are wondering, "Who is this?" Yes, I shall make that clear first. My name is Korekyo Shinguji. I am called the Ultimate Anthropologist. But please call me Kyo."

"Nice to meet you. My name is Dakota Natalie, the Ultimate Performer."

"I'm Kaede Akamatsu, The Ultimate Pianist."

"I'm Nagito Komeada, the Ultimate Lucky Student."

"And I'm Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective."

"Excuse me, Kyo, but…." I paused, not knowing what Kyo's talent meant. "What is Anthropology?" I wondered.

"Oh, would you like a short explanation?" He asked, piquing my interest,

"Yes, please, it sounds fascinating," I replied enthusiastically.

"Anthropology…" Kyo paused before continuing, "Studies customs, legends, folk tales, songs, and much more. There may even be customs in your daily life, the origins of which you did not know—for example, certain aspects of birthday or new year celebrations. Anthropology sheds light on traditions and customs such as these through rigorous analysis. It is a study that examines the thought behind culture, faith, and customs." Korekyo explained,

"That's so cool. I've always loved ancient history and its customs. You know you should meet my friend Amy. She would have a field day with you; she's quite the history wiz." I offered,

"Yes, beautiful, it is all so beautiful. This is why I study Anthropology. To see the beauty of humanity and to see those inspired by it. Yes, people are wonderful." Kyo gushed, stretching his arms out,

"Uhhhh, Ah ha ha ha." I laughed awkwardly. This guy sounds like a creep, and it turns out he is one too. I thought.

"So, it was nice talking to you. But I think we should go now. Come on. You three, let's leave while we have the chance." I whispered,

"Roger that. Oh, by the way? You did check to see it was safe to go outside, right?" Kaede inquired,

"Indeed, it is though I must warn you. You might not find what you're looking for right away." Korekyo chuckled,

None of us had time to dwell on Korekyo's words as I went up to the door and pulled on the handles.

"So, who wants to do the honors?" I asked, hands on the handles.

"I'll help you, Dakota. Those doors look heavy." Kaede offered, grabbing the other handle.

"On the count of three, okay?" I instructed,

"Okay." She replied,

"1" I counted,

"2," Kaede counted.

"3!" We shouted and opened the doors. Light poured in, and a fresh breeze filled our senses.

"Wow, that was easier than expected." I smiled, walking through,

"Yes, even I was expecting a brick wall or something to keep us from going outside." Nagito frowned.

The four of us went outside to see the most shocking thing all day.

"W-What the heck?" Kaede stuttered,

"W-What is this?" Shuichi asked,

"Oh, so that's the catch." Nagito realized, looking up.

"Sweet Nancy's pet canary in a discount pet store we're trapped like birds in a cage!" I shouted as I looked up to see a vast cage surrounding the Ultimate Academy.

"Uh, was that necessary?" Kaede wondered, questioning my analogy.

"What I'm trying a new comic relief tactic," I replied,

"What is this a cage? a wall?" Shuichi questioned,

"Whatever it is, we're trapped. I should have known they wouldn't make it that easy for us." Nagito frowned,

"Either way, why are they going so far as to build something like this. Wouldn't it be more suffocating for everyone to be trapped in just the school?" I wondered, thinking back to the places we've been trapped in before.

"You do have a point giving everyone this freedom leads to the opposite effect of feeling trapped. It gives off the effect of normal life I don't even feel like it's necessary to escape. I feel like I can live peacefully here." Nagito explained, tapping his finger on his chin,

"Well, when you put it like that, I see what you mean." Kaede agreed, "It does feel nice to know we can go outside whenever we want, but that still doesn't answer. What in the world is this?"

"Rise and Shine Ursine!" The Monokuds greeted, appearing out of nowhere.

"Surprised about the cage, huh? I totally understand how you feel. The first time I saw it, my teeth and fingernails fell out." Monotaro admitted,

"That's not a very healthy way to react to a surprise," Monophanie replied with concern for her brother,

"Um, Cubs? I know you have a little skit you like to put on every time you show up, but could you please get to the point? What is this cage, and what is the meaning of this?" I asked, gesturing to the cage,

"Oh, that's called the End Wall we built it to keep youse guys from escaping." Monosuke explained, "Also, don't bother screaming for help because no one will hear you. The walls soundproof."

"Well, that makes sense considering the saturation we're in. But what about the rest of the school? I've noticed while walking around it feels both abandoned and unfinished. Can you explain the meaning behind this?" Nagito asked, gesturing around the school.

"Uh, well, you see. Everyone woke up before we were finished renovating the school, and because of that, it's unfinished. But don't worry, once we put the Exisals on autopilot, it will look good as new." Monophanie explained though she seemed slightly panicked,

"Exisals?" Kaede asked shockingly,

"Over there." I pointed to the giant robot that was working in the garden.

"Once part of a biker gang, the Exisals now work construction to support their wives and kids," Monokid explained,

"Do robot's really need that kinda backstory?" Monophonie wondered,

"Their steering wheels are leopard print, and their dashboards are lined with arcade prizes," Monotaro added happily.

"Seriously, knock it off with the backstories, you guys! They sound like idiots with backstories like those!" Monosuke exclaimed,

"Hey, these guys get it, right guys?" Monotaro asked. We didn't respond, "Guys? Hey, where did everybody go?!" He shouted, seeing we left, leaving the cubs behind.

"Phew, that was a close one. I'm glad we finally got away from them." Kaede panted, trying to catch her breath.

"Yeah, that was nice thinking leaving them while they were distracted, Dakota." Shuichi panted,

"Hey, no problem. I'm used to running away from daily annoyances all the time. I knew it would come in handy here." I winked,

"Anyway, I'm sure we've met almost everyone by now. Let's meet the remaining students and plan our next move." Nagito suggested,

"Hey, did you guys say something about planning your next move? Are you talking about a strategy meeting without me?" A male with spiky pink hair and wearing a space-themed jacket questioned, walking up to us.

"I wouldn't call it a strategy meeting, but It's always nice to plan ahead," I replied,

"I know what you mean. Trapped here without an idea what's going on or who's doing this to us is pretty unsettling. Plus, those teddy bears give me the creeps." He shivered,

"Yeah, we just escaped from them. I'm not going to lie. They're pretty annoying." Kaede admitted,

"Yeah, I agree. Oh, by the way, I never introduced myself. Whoops. I'm Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars! Even crying children adore the Ultimate Astronaut!" Kaito introduced,

"Wow, I've never met an Ultimate Astronaut before." I breamed,

"Though I gotta ask, aren't you a little young to be an Astronaut? I thought to qualify as one. You needed years of training?" Nagito questioned, hand on his chin,

"Well, to tell you the truth, I'm not actually a full-fledged Astronaut; I'm still in training." He admitted, "I'm actually the first teenager to pass the exam. You see, I've wanted to go to space ever since I was a kid, and after I got into high school, I couldn't wait much longer to go, so I asked a friend to fake some stuff for me, and I was able to sneak into a school to take the test. Of course, I was caught and got in a lot of trouble with the higher-ups at the school, but after seeing I aced the test, they decided to put me in a juniors astronauts' program until I'm old enough to go into space for real." Kaito explained, rubbing his neck,

"You do realize what you did was both illegal and very reckless. If you didn't get off the hook, your little stunt could've landed you in prison." I scolded.

"Aw, don't be like that sometimes. You've got to a little reckless to achieve your dreams. I don't want to wait until after college! I want to go to space as fast as I can!" Kaito exclaimed, pumping his fist together,

"You sure have a lot of…." Shuichi paused, choosing his words carefully not to anger the astronaut trainee. "Energy." He stated,

"Yeah, everyone told me it was impossible, but I never gave up! Not even for a moment! That's because limits don't exist unless you set them yourself. There are no walls you can't get over! The same goes for that one!" Kaito explained, pointing to the end wall,

"Well, that makes two of us. I'm not giving up until we get out of here." Kaede smiled in determination,

"That's the spirit see it helps to have a positive spirit! You never know when you might need a little pick me up." Kaito said, giving us a thumbs up. We waved goodbye to Kaito and went to a building that looked like the dormitory.

"Wow, this looks like the dormitory," I stated as if it wasn't obvious.

"Are they expecting us to stay here for a long period?" Shuichi wondered, hand on his chin in thought.

"Looks like it. I mean, we are trapped here, so it makes sense to have a place for everyone to stay," Nagito replied,

"Well, I don't think we'll be here for that long. I'm sure we'll get out of here before we even need anything." Kaede said, determined,

"I don't know about that, Kaede. I think it might be best to look around at least." I suggested knowing getting out wasn't going to be easy.

"I guess you do have a point. Maybe someone is inside." The pianist replied,

We went inside the dorms and saw all the rooms split up into two floors.

"Wow, nice place we've got here." I admired looking around,

"Yeah, even I have to admit for an old, abandoned school, the living quarters are nicer than the ones at Hope's Peak." Emily cut in, looking through the screen.

"Well, our dorms were located inside the school. The dorms here are located outside the school. Very interesting." Amy noted, adjusting her glasses.

"Hey, Nagito looks like you and I are sharing a room," I said, pointing to our pictures on the door.

"Wow, that's new than again. I think we would've shared a room anyway. So, I'm glad they prepared one for us." Nagito smiled brightly,

"Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice you talking, and I thought I should introduce myself." A young woman with gray hair greeted. "I am Kirumi Tojo, the Ultimate Maid. If you require my service, please let me know."

"Thank you, Kirumi, but I don't think I'll be asking you for much. I'd hate to take advantage of your kindness." I smiled, tilting my head to the side.

"Nonsense, it is what I was born to do. It's no brother." Kirumi reassured,

"Wait, I-I've heard of you before you've served for many different and powerful people from CEOs to Rich Entrepreneurs. From what I've heard, you'll complete any request giving to you." Shuichi explained,

"No way is that true?!" I wondered in awe.

"Please, you are exaggerating. I will not complete any request that is asked of me. I once received a request to annihilate a rival nation, but it was impossible. I rejected it." Kirumi explained as if it was a regular occurrence.

"But to be asked, that is pretty impressive. You must be very respected if you were trusted to do that." I added,

"It has nothing to do with respect or trust. It is my duty as the Ultimate Maid. My duty is to serve. Again, if you need my assistance, please don't be afraid to ask." Kirumi stated matter-of-factly.

"Thanks for the offer, but I'm sure we'll be out of here before we need anything." Kaede stated, "Come on, guys, let's look around some more."

"See you later, Kirumi. We'll talk later." I waved,

"Farewell, everyone. I look forward to serving you." She replied, waving goodbye.

"I have to admit for such a well-known maid, I've never heard of her. I wonder if Byakuya's heard of Kirumi?" Cindy wondered,

"I'm pretty sure she's not a real maid. It's just part of the fake backstory everyone has." Hajime reassured, "Either way, for a teenager, she sure is mature. I wonder if her real past influenced that?" Chiaki wondered,

"Either way, fake backstories or not, we have to play along until we can get everyone out of here and get their real memories back." Nagito reminded.

"He's right. We don't want to raise suspicions. Nagito and I could be the top suspects if we're not careful." I added,

The four of us walked down the stairs, and there we saw a large young man. He looked somewhat intimidating, but I've known people who looked like they were frightening but turned out to be some of the sweetest people I've met.

"Why, hello there, lovely day today, isn't it." I greeted,

"Huh, why yes, it is a nice day today. It's the kind of day that bugs would love to be outside and play." He replied in broken English,

"Wow, I thought he would be a scary type of person, but he's such a sweetheart." Kaede smiled as we talked.

"Well, looks are deceiving if Kokichi taught us anything," Nagito stated,

"Yeah, how could someone so young looking be so much trouble?" Kaede wondered, placing a hand to her head, thinking back to the purplette

"Hey, I never got your name. My name is Dakota Natalie, the Ultimate Performer. What's your name?" I asked, smiling kindly,

"Um, Gonta's name is Gonta Gokuhara. Gonta's talent is Ultimate Entomologist."

"Oh, so you study bugs?! That's so cool. I bet you helped people learn a lot about them." I beamed despite the fact I wasn't a big fan of bugs.

"Yes, Gonta has. Because he's so scary-looking, Gonta never had any friends, so Gonta became friends with bugs. But one day, Gonta got lost in forest for about ten years. Wolves raised Gonta, and they taught Gonta how to speak with bugs and other animals. Now Gonta wants to become gentleman to pay thanks to animal friends." Gonta explained,

"Wow, that's really sweet, Gonta. Quite a touching story, I hope you activate your dreams of becoming a proper gentleman." I said politely.

"Gonta hope so too. Gonta wants to be nice to friends." He said,

Come on, you guys, there's one more place we can look. See you later, Gonta." I walked away, waving goodbye.

"Goodbye, Gonta will talk to new friends later. It's what a gentleman would do." Gonta said, waving to us.

We went inside a shrine-looking building littered with plants and a fountain. It was a beautiful place until my eyes landed on the signature red door, and I knew immediately that this is where the class trials would be held.

"Why hello, there I don't believe we've met. I am Angie Yonaga, the Ultimate Artist!" She greeted, walking up to us.

"It's nice to meet you. My name is Dakota Natalie, the Ultimate Performer." I greeted.

"I'm Kaede Akamatsu, the Ultimate Pianist."

"I'm Nagito Komaeda, the Ultimate Lucky Student."

"And I'm Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective."

"Ahahaha! it's a pleasure to meet you!" Angie laughed,

"You're awfully cheerful." Kaede smiled awkwardly as if the artist didn't care about the potential danger. She was in

"She seems like the type of person that gets annoying after a while." Emily pointed out,

"Yeah, I agree with you, and I'm not the type that gets annoyed easily," I whispered back,

"Well, of course, there's no need to carry bad thoughts with ya! You gotta live every day like it's bright, cheery, and fun! At least that's what Atua tells me!" Angie explained,

"Atua? Oh, do you come from a religious background?" I inquired, eyes wide,

"Yes, I do. Atua is the god of my island; he speaks to me with his divine voice. With it, he helps me paint, sculpt, and much more. It's all thanks to Atua! Atua knows best!" Angie explained, swaying side to side.

"This gal's a loon," Mimi whispered,

"Watch it, chief, my mama's half loon!" Emily replied sassily,

"That's pretty cool. I'm a bit of an artist myself. I've been doing digital art for years now. Do you think we can look at each other's work?" I offered to be friendly,

"Of course, I've always loved looking at the different ways artists paint and draw. But before I look, I'll need a pint or two of your blood as sacrifice." Angie explained nonchalantly.

"On second thought, never mind perhaps some other time," I said, backing away from her.

"Okay, but if you change your mind, Atua and I will be happy to chat," The artist stated cheerfully.

Just then, the school's bell started ringing, and the monitor turned on. But instead of Monokuma like I was expecting, the Monokubs were in charge instead. The cubs were lined up on a couch drinking out of juice glasses.

Can the bears even drink out of that? I wondered,

"This is a school announcement. We've finished preparations for the entrance ceremony," Monotaro announced,

"With that said, please go to the gym. It's time we started this game for real," Monophanie instructed,

"That is all. See you real soon. Heck yeah!" Monokid shouted, and the monitor shut off.

"Well, it looks like the shows about to begin. Dakota, are you ready for this?" Nagito whispered seriously,

"Ready as I'll ever be, it's time to put an end to this once and for all," I replied with determination,

"Okay, which way is the gym?" Kaede asked, pumping her fists.

"Follow us we'll lead the way," I replied, leading the group. The four of us made it to the gym to see everyone else meeting up.

"Kokichi, it's great to see you again!" I said excitedly, running to him for a hug.

"Hey, Dakota, it's nice to you too. So, what do you think of the school? Pretty awesome place, huh? I wonder what else is in store for us?!" The Supreme Leader exclaimed, jumping up and down in excitement.

"Well, I think we'll find out soon enough. Come on, everyone, let's go inside." Rantaro spoke. We entered the gym to see the Monokubs lined up inside the Exisals.

"Oh, you have got to be kidding me," I stated in shock.

"Dakota, do you know what's going on here?" Kaede questioned,

"Yeah, I'm afraid I know a little too much," I replied, seriously narrowing my eyes as we walked up to the cubs.

"Everyone stay close. This looks like trouble!" Rantaro shouted,

"Don't worry. I won't run away from danger. I'll push someone else into it instead!" Kokichi laughed,

"What?! Don't push me into those things. Push the lazy magician instead!" Miu yelled in fear.

"I'm not a magician; I'm a mage." Himiko corrected, "And what did you say about me?!"

"Sheesh, getting all worked up over a little lie." The Supreme Leader stated plainly inspecting his nails. As if he didn't start a panic. "Man, you guys are so fun to mess with." He perked up, eyes filled with childlike glee.

"Everyone settle down. We haven't even started the killing game yet, and you're already getting worked up over nothing." Monophanie spoke up in an attempt to calm everyone down. But it had the opposite effect.

"Killing Game!" Everyone shouted in a panic.

"Now hold on, I'm too young to die. If you're going to kill anyone, kill the uggos off first and save me for last!" Miu wined meekly.

"Run, Himiko!" Kokichi called out amusingly.

"Nyah, why me." Himiko groaned,

"Great, just what we need more commotion." I facepalmed,

"Well, think on the bright side, at least the summery will be quick enough." Cindy cut in, trying to think on the Brightside.

"Oops, was I supposed to revile that yet?" Monophanie asked,

"Of course not, you idiot! Now they're even more riled up." Monosuke scolded,

"Aww, she was just trying to help." Monotaro butt in.

"No one asked you, Monotaro!" Monosuke snapped,

"Wahh, back me up here Monodam!" Monotaro pleaded, but the green robotic bear stayed silent. "What?! Come on; you won't even stick up for your own family?" The red bear asked in a panic.

"See, I told you Monodam doesn't open to anyone. That's all thanks to my bullying." Monokid laughed proudly.

"That sounds like a challenge. I bet I can take you chumps on with an arm tied behind my back." Monosuke challenged,

"Sounds like fun, and if we run everyone over in the process, then I guess it will be all right." Monokid agreed,

"Wait, when did we go from one topic to another? Oh, well, I'll take you on no problem." Monotaro brushed the topic aside, joining in on his sibling's chaos.

"Ugh, I hate gore. Oh well, I'll take teddy stuffing over blood any day." Monophanie beamed,

"This is bad. We've got to get out of here before we get squashed!" Tenko stated in a panic.

"How about we return to the dining hall and have a nice relaxing supper while the cubs have they're free for all," Kyo suggested,

"Okay, you can go. I'll stay here and rote for the winning team. Can anyone bring me back some grape Panta while you're there?" Kokichi asked, casually hands behind his head.

"I'll be sure to fulfill that request," Kirumi replied with a curtsy.

But I had enough. I was tired of waiting for the moment to strike. I walked up to Monokubs and started yelling.

"Enough!"

"Huh!" They asked,

"That's it. I've had it! I have no idea why you're here and not him, but no more waiting. Where's Monokuma? I want to speak to him!" I shouted, letting all the anger I was feeling out.

"Did somebody say my name?" A high-pitched voice echoed across the gym.

"Huh, who said that?" Tsumugi asked,

"Huh, that voice can only belong to one person," Monotaro said with a bright smile.

"One so powerful even Polar bears cower in fear at his name," Monosuke added,

"Daddy, is that you? Why don't you come out now?" Monophanie asked, looking around.

"I'm right here," Monokuma said, jumping high into the air with a pair of black and white wings and landing gracefully on stage.

"Monokuma!" Nagito, the cubs, and I shouted as the murderous black, and white bear reviled himself.

"Monokuma? Dakota, do you know him?" Kaede was shocked at the fact that I knew more than it seems.

"Yeah, I do. He's been a thorn in my side for years. He's responsible for killing games around the world, and I've had the misfortune of attending the first one." I explained, not taking my eyes off the one who caused Nagito and my endless suffering.

"Welcome, welcome everyone to the Ultimate Academy." Monokuma greeted, ignoring everything I said,

"I want to thank you for looking after my cubs. I know half the viewers out there are just begging for them to shut up. But they're just so cute that I had to let them have the spotlight. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't let you beat them up." Monokuma said too carefree to care about everyone's shocked faces.

"Who? Who are you?" The pianist questioned,

"I'm the headmaster of this academy, Monokuma, pleased to meet you. That is what I would say if it weren't for the fact that this took way too long to get to this part!" Monokuma growled, holding up a paw reviling his sharp claws.

"Huh, are you mad at us for having to do introductions twice?" Monophaine questioned. Monokuma stayed quiet.

"Are you mad because this prologue is taking too long, and we should get on with the game?" Monotaro asked again. The bear stayed silent, except I noticed he was getting annoyed,

"Are you mad because I left the toilet seat up? Who told you was it Monodam, you little snitch, wait till I get my paws on you!" Monokid's voice raised with anger.

"I'm. Not. Mad." Monokuma stuttered in annoyance punching his cubs, causing them to bounce around the gym.

"Duck and cover!" I shouted, ducking to avoid the bouncing Monokuds.

"Now, there is so much to tell you, but so little time, so I'll get straight to the point. This school was built to house the 16 of you. All of you will live out your days here and take part in a heart throbbing killing game. The rules are simple…" I tuned Monokuma out as he explained the rules of the game and the class trails. I've been through them enough times to know the ins and outs by heart. I took this moment to look around. I noticed everyone's shocked and horrified faces. I noticed Korekyo seemed interested in Monokuma's rules, and Kokichi had his hands behind his head smiling in a carefree way, but his eyes didn't lie. He looked just as terrified, if not more so, than the rest of us.

I must protect them. I'm not going to let anyone die here. I thought determined I was snapped out of my thoughts by Nagito gently shaking me.

"What's up?" I asked, looking up at him.

"Monokuma wants to speak to us in one of the classrooms. We need to go now." Nagito frowned, eyes severe.

"What about the others?" I asked, not wanting to leave them alone,

"We won't be gone for long. They can handle themselves for a little while," Nagito reassured. I nodded in agreement, and we left the gym.

We walked to the nearest classroom as if we were on a mission and entered to see Monokuma sitting at a desk and his cubs playing in the corner.

"You wanted to see us, Monokuma," I stated, eyes cold voice stern.

"I have to admit I was lying when I said I was happy to see you both again. I thought you would let me be so I can enjoy one last hora before my retirement party. But no, you just had to come over here and crash my party! And you didn't even bring me a card how inconsiderate!" Monokuma's head dropped, faking disappointment.

"Enough of the act! You have a lot of nerve kidnapping innocent high school students and forcing them to play your game." I raised my voice, showing my disgust.

"And to make matters worse, you've implanted them with false memories. Tell me, bear, what is your game?" Nagito asked, voice low and dangerous as he grabbed Monokuma by the neck, hoisting him up.

"Ahhh, hey! Don't you remember that violence against Monokuma is against the school regulations?!" Monokuma said in a panic.

"Hey, you put Daddy down, you buster," Monophanie swore. But Nagito ignored her.

"Your precious Junko isn't here to save you know so out with it who's controlling you. I doubt she's back from the dead, and Monaca has given up on filling her shoes, so who is your master?" The former luckster ordered, tightening his hold on the bear.

"Okay, okay, I'll talk. Just..." Monokuma paused, trying to breathe. "Put me down." He pleaded. Nagito dropped the Monochrome bear leaving him gasping for breath.

"I can't tell you who I am that would be cheating, but I can tell you that the school has everything you'll need to solve that mystery. Heck, I'll even let you try your hand at rescuing the fake ultimates that should keep you busy for a while." Monokuma said,

"They don't have much of a choice, do they?" Monotaro asked,

"Of course, they don't. That's the rules of the killing game, heck yeah!" Monokid cheered.

"Will you shut up! I'm trying to have a conversation with my ex-classmates here?" Monokuma ordered annoyance lased in his tone red eye glowing dangerously.

"Ahh, yes, Daddy, sorry, Daddy." The Monokuds apologized,

"Okay, what is the deal with those cubs?" I asked, pointing to them,

"Just between you and me, they weren't my idea. The network thought giving me children would help with viewership. But they're just so annoying that I might kill them off instead of the students, and I thought Monomi was a nuisance." Monokuma lowed his head in sadness, "By the way, how is my little sister?" He perked up.

"She's fine. She's the new mascot of Hope's Peak," I stated,

"Oh, not my first choice for her, but good to see she's doing well for herself." Monokuma smiled, hands-on his tummy.

"Anyway, I think this conversation is over. I've got motives to prepare, and you've got a mastermind to find and students to save who will win? Ah, it's all too exciting." Monokuma cheered in glee. "Though I will warn you this killing game is like no other, this theme is more than just hope vs. despair. You'll have to unravel the truth and see through the lies to uncover the meaning behind the 53rd season of Danganronpa. I hope you're up for it." Monokuma giggled,

"If you want to play fine, let the games begin." I smiled in unwavering confidence.

"May the best side win," Monokuma said as I shook his paw. And so, the game begins not a game about hope or despair, a game about truth, lies, and outsmarting your opponent. A game that I wasn't playing, I'm going to get these kids out of here if it's the last thing I do, and once I find the mastermind, they will be brought to justice. Let the 53rd session of Danganronpa begin.
