"I assume you have learned the use and importance of hand seals?"

Rasa spoke with high expectations when he didn't do anything to teach his son.

"Yes father, I have practiced my hand seals in the past."

"Good. Hand seals are important crutch to help mould and summon chakra for ninjutsu, genjutsu, and other secret arts. Remember that although it helps it is important to reduce the number of seals in performing a jutsu. Question. How many seals are there in a bunshin technique?"

"According to the books I've read, there's ram, tiger, snake seals for performing a bunshin, so there's three seals."

"Hmm, your long hours of reading isn't wasted. That's right there's three, but ninja like us needs to be fast and performing these seals can be very slow in the beginning... watch."

ram, tiger, snake

"It takes valuable time to cast, but once you are familiar with the technique and have full mastery over it then you wouldn't have to perform these seals."

Like so, without performing any hand seals, another bunshin appeared beside Rasa.

"I understand. Thank you father. I will do my best."

"As is expected of you."

With a puff from a scroll Rasa pulled out, four scrolls appeared.

"These scrolls are basic academy level jutsu. Study them carefully and master each to the point of not needing hand seals. I will give you three days. Ask Yashamaru if you have questions."

Rasa instructed and left. He still blamed Gaara for the death of his wife. He barely felt affection for this child of his, and was prepared to get rid of him if he proved to be a failure.

Gaara simply lowered his head as he received instructions like any good ninja would do.

'This guy is an ass. He will never change.'

Jinn never married in his previous life but he how this type of treatment would have affected the original Gaara. He despised the kazekage and is prepared to take over when he gets stronger.

'Time to study.'

He opened the scroll of suna bunshin technique and began to read. The technique functions like a kage bunshin but takes a small portion of chakra in contrast to the later dividing ones chakra by half making it nearly impossible for a normal genin or even chunin to sustain.

Although it doesn't help in studying jutsu, its utility on the battlefield is very high. Another redeeming factor for the suna bunshin technique is that no hand seals are required to be able to perform it.

The other scroll contained suna yadama ooikakuso, doujou kirikae, and suna jishaku. The first coated weapons with sand for additional damage, the second turned earth to sand, and the last allows the user to attract sand.

These four are basic but are erefutably very important in setting the foundation of a sand ninja these techniques are also the basis for more advanced techniques.

'This guy underestimate me too much.'

With Gaara's natural alignment in learning sand techniques, his chakra control, and his vast chakra reserves, he was able to master the scrolls in just a couple of hours.

With nothing else to do he added another kilo to the weighted seals in his four limbs and torso, then he began to train to exhaustion.

Rasa was dumbfounded in their personal training ground three days after he instructed Gaara on basic academy level jutsu.

"I hope to have performed up to standard."

Rasa soon recovered from shock, he heard from a report that Gaara spent no more than two hours studying the scrolls and began taijutsu training. He never opened the scrolls since then. In fact, he came here to scold his son and have even prepared a speech on the proper training discipline of a ninja, but now that his son not only performed within standards set for an academy student, even surpassing most of these said students and stepped into the realm of genins, he didn't know what to say.

'Is it possible that he mastered these techniques in less than two hours?'

"Uhmm... ahem. Very good. You have done well. Did your uncle teach you these techniques before?"

Not waiting for a reply.

"Nevermind." he said. Inwardly he knew Yashamaru, a very loyal shinobi, wouldn't dare overstep his boundaries and act without getting permission from him firsthand.

"Wait here for me."

Rasa disappeared.
