Drew's cabin had been so excited and jealous of her after her little "moment" with Percy. Every girl (and even some guys) in the Aphrodite cabin would have killed their bunkmate for a chance to get a taste of Percy's lips. The next week was a constant stream of questions about Percy.

"Is it true that he has an 8-pack?"

"Do his lips really taste like sea salt?"

"Next time you kiss him, can you ask him to kiss me too?"

Needless to say, Drew was exasperated by these kinds of questions. Drew had no trouble answering the first two, but she couldn't help but feel… superficial. Like she only liked Percy because of his good looks. That wasn't true! She liked Percy for plenty of other reasons like… his kindness and his ability to kill monsters really quickly. But she knew that had fallen for Percy the second she saw him. He could have been a huge douche, but with those gorgeous green orbs, she would have forgiven Percy again and again even if it meant her doom. Ugh, why did that boy have to be so complicated?

Unfortunately or fortunately, her newfound popularity was not long-lasting. Almost about a week later, Percy went unexpectedly missing and the campers could find him anywhere. From the little bit Drew knew Percy, she thought that he wouldn't be so mean to leave her with the other campers without at least giving her a heads up. For the month after Percy left, Drew deeply considered sneaking out of the camp to start a new life in New York City and stay in one of the foster homes. At least there, she could study physics without feeling everyone looking at her. "Look at the pretty girl 'studying' physics" people scoffed and made air quotes behind her back as they saw her reading Feynman's Lectures. When she left her books lying around, she would find them ripped up or horribly mean things written in them like "You think you're so smart but everyone knows you're just a slut" or "if you could understand physics, you would be in the Athena or Hephaestus cabin. But you're not." Drew would cry sometimes beside the lake where she had kissed Percy - it wasn't her fault that her godly parent had to be the dumb "Goddess of Beauty". Couldn't people study things just because they wanted to and not because their parent was associated with it?

Drew was fortunately still a little bit popular among the Aphrodite cabin for her moment with Percy and they made her head counselor after Silena had died. What a pity, Drew had thought, the only (other?) Aphrodite member that was partially sane was now gone as well.

Interestingly, about 3 months after Percy left, 3 new campers came by the name of Leo, Jason, and Piper. As a head counselor, Drew thought it would be good to check out the huge commotion that had happened when the Camp Half-Blood chariot had crashed into the amphitheater. In hindsight, Piper had to admit, that her mind had initially had only room for Jason when she saw the trio. He was a bit taller than Percy but was almost as handsome. He was well-built, had a chiseled jawline, and had a little scar on his upper lip that screamed at Drew "KISS ME!" When he saw her hands around Piper, she felt her heart clench and anger and jealously come out of nowhere. Drew silently cursed her mother in Greek for making her care about such things in light of their injuries. But what she didn't expect was how she felt about Leo. Leo was about the same height as Jason, 6 feet from what Drew could tell, but he had this fire in his eyes, this lopsided grin, and constantly twitching greasy hands messing with cogs and screws inside his jacket like he was thinking about how to build something dangerous. At first, Drew dismissed him, but as she took a better look, she couldn't help but think his mischievous smile was kind of cute and he had such beautiful chocolate-colored eyes, like a cute golden retriever she had met a couple of weeks ago.

Drew also had a 500 IQ moment where she realized that befriending a member of the Hephaestus cabin before he was claimed could be a great benefit He was probably the only one of them that didn't already hold a grudge against the Aphrodite cabin (since her mom was cheating on Hephaestus with Ares) and he could teach her how to build pendulums attached to pendulums and calculate their motion through space and time using differential equations. Her lips twitched up and she couldn't help but think about how different things could be in the next few weeks.
