Long, endless minutes passed by as Deku sat on his bed, back against the wall and arms hugging his legs. There were dried tear marks going from his eyes, down to his chin.
He couldn't remember the last time he felt this helpless.
...Kacchan!...
...Stay back... Deku...
The memory burned into his mind, making him remember every second. Hugging his legs even tighter, he held onto that memory as a reminder... as a promise.
Never again.
The door opened and Kacchan came in with a sleeping bag and pillow. Deku was at a loss for words that he was okay with this. He didn't look all that thrilled about it, but still.
"At least you're not that big of an idiot to try anything smart like you always do," Kacchan said while he set up his sleeping bag on the floor.
Was that suppose to be an insult or a compliment?
It was too quiet for comfort as Kacchan sat on his sleeping bag, looking at his phone. It looked like he was texting someone.
It was probably Kirishima.
It was so awkward just sitting in the same room alone, or that's how Deku was feeling at least. Kacchan didn't seem all too bothered by it, then again he was on his phone, not even acknowledging him.
Pretending I don't exist. That's so unlike him.
"What were you and AllMight talking about?" Deku asked, getting rid of the awkward silence.
Kacchan looked up from his phone and made eye contact with him. His red eyes were hard to read as Deku sat still, waiting for an answer.
"Nothing that concerns you," he said very directly.
Deku couldn't take it anymore.
"What's going on, Kacchan?" He stood up from his bed, completely fed up. "I know AllMight is hiding something from me! Like you said, I'm not a damn idiot!"
Kacchan was caught off guard by his sudden burst of energy. Normally Deku is nervous to talk down to him, but he finally snapped. He composed himself and stood up at his level.
"AllMight wants me to keep an eye on you, so I will," Kacchan said, never breaking eye contact.
"You know that's not what I'm talking about," Deku said as he clenched his fist, "He told you something about All for One, didn't he?"
"Like everyone said, he's planning something, we just need to-"
"You're lying!"
His blood boiled and he pushed Kacchan into his desk. Deku grabbed onto the collar of his shirt, anger taking over his body.
"Why is AllMight keeping secrets from me?! Please, Kacchan! I need to know! All for One is going to kill him! I need to help him!"
A tiny part of Kacchan wanted to, but he wasn't Deku. He keeps his promises. If he told him, Deku would try to take care of things on his own, and either get killed or get his quirk taken by All for One. He wasn't ready yet.
"I don't know why he's keeping secrets from you, but he told me to keep an eye on you, so that's what I'll do."
Deku's anger dwindled to sorrow as he loosened his grip. His messy hair blocked his green eyes, unable to look at Kacchan anymore.
Why don't they trust me?
Finally letting go of his shirt, he got into bed, his back facing Kacchan. He pulled his blanket over his head, trying to block out everything.
Kacchan... AllMight... One for All... All for One...
He noticed the lights switch off and heard Kacchan rustling with his sleeping bag. Then, it was quiet. All he could hear was Kacchan's breathing, settling into a deep sleep.
Closing his eyes, Deku tried to relax, but it was almost impossible to fall asleep. Almost
Where am I?
Midoriya had no idea where he was. It looked like he was standing in the middle of a dark, abandoned alleyway.
A memory of the Stain Incident flashed through his mind, but something about the atmosphere told him this wasn't that alleyway. The air felt so heavy and overwhelming that it was hard for him to breathe.
A presence coming from the other side of the alleyway creeped its way up towards Midoriya. Chills ran up his spine as a shadowy figure slowly approached him.
Who... what are you?
He wanted to run away, but his shaking legs froze in place.
The energy coming off of the figure grew with every step it took, going from chilling to demonic. As it came closer to him, it started to form into an actual silhouette.
Everything about it made his heart race and panic took over. His eyes grew wide and his skin turned pale white as Midoriya realized who it was...
...All for One...
His whole being was so intimidating that the heaviness of the atmosphere was forcing Midoriya to buckle his knees and collapse onto the ground. He desperately tried to use his quirk to get away, to punch him, kick him, anything! But he was completely intimidated and overwhelmed.
...Why can't I move?...Why can't I use my quirk?...
All for One was only a few feet away from him. He reached out to Midoriya, his fingers spread out and curling inward.
...Stop!...Please Stop!...
Tears started to form under his eyes as All for One's hand was about to cover his face, a dark red glow forming between them.
...One for All!...NO!...
For a split second, All for One flashed in front of Midoriya, and Tomura Shigraki's disturbing face with a wide, creepy smile took his place.
"I'll be taking your quirk now..."
Shigaraki placed his hand on his face and--
"NO!"
Midoriya cried as he jolted up from his very deep sleep.
"What is it, Deku?! Is All-"
Before Midoriya could understand that he had a nightmare, something grabbed him by the throat and pinned him against the wall.
Kacchan?! What's going on?!
His head throbbed from the sudden force that he couldn't think straight. Midoriya felt like he was still asleep mentally, but his body eventually made him understand that he was in danger.
His vision came into focus, and he realized this wasn't a nightmare anymore. It was real.
All for One!
This chapter turned out pretty good. Ioriginally wanted toshow the villains perspective instead of a nightmare, but it was hard to write it out naturally. This makes it more terrifying, so I hope you guys like it!
It's getting serious!
