Wolfie: I still do not own anything related to Night at the Museum. Now, seeing as I only have three chapters done and am only 36 minutes and 56 seconds into the movie I am not so sure I'm gonna want to make a trilogy out of this. This might just end up being a one and done book with cute little spin off stories, drabbles, and one-shots after it's all said and done. I just love Night at the Museum so you may see alot of stories from that franchise, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to update my other stories, I just don't have much inspiration for those as of yet. Also I know I have been writing Unknown POV for my oc when I clearly call him the Nameless Pharaoh but using that for when I say it is his point of view seems a bit impersonal so for now his POV name is just Unknown. Now, please read and review.

Chapter 4: First night part 3

Ahkmenrah's POV

Waking up trapped in a sarcophagus is something I will never get used to and it seems like my nameless companion will never get used to it either as I soon hear his yells and scream mix with my own. It always makes my heart ache, knowing that a soul that is undoubtedly as kind and innocent as his is suffering, both in and out of being alive and dead much to my sadness. People don't know how I died and I most certainly do not remember how it happened, but he does remember how he had died, and my lovely Pharaoh is reminded of it constantly. That much is obvious, even if he will not admit it I know he is constantly suffering, and oh how I wish I could leave this blasted tomb exhibit of mine so that I may give him some comfort. The comfort that he so greatly deserves, the comfort that I had craved not to long ago when I had been left locked inside my sarcophagus, the other exhibits too scared to release me. They believe me to be cursed, and I would not be surprised if they thought the same thing of the one they call the Nameless Pharaoh, but unlike them we knew the truth. We are not cursed, the only thing cursed about us is this accursed way of life that we are being forced to have, the old night guards have damned us to a life of solitude. A life where we do not get the chance to taste the sweet sweet freedom that we once had when we were alive back in Ancient Egypt, for myself that was 4,000 long years ago. Nevertheless, even if I cannot be free from my sarcophagus, I only hope my sweet companion gets a chance to walk around freely, to have a chance to live once take our minds off of the situation we engage in conversation as always and at one point in time I attempted to guess what my companions birth name might be. I never did make the correct guess but his mood seemed to have improved which I am overjoyed about, though that game soon ended as we heard quite a bit of chaos happening.

"Hehehe, seems the new guard is having a bit of trouble on his first night." The almost melodic voice of the Nameless Pharaoh said as I could not help but laugh in agreement.

"Seems as if you are right." I said as I was happy that for once in the 54 years I had been here that things weren't going according to the schedule the old guards put in place.

"Ahkmenrah, what do you think this new guard is like?" The Nameless Pharaoh asked curiously but I knew he was asking me this because he was terrified that this one would be like the last three.

"Well, my dear Pharaoh, I think he is not that good at following the old guards rules." I said as I knew that was not the answer that he was looking for but it was worth it as I got to hear him laugh again. He really does have a wonderful laugh and I love to hear it, though everything about him is wonderful in my opinion and wonderful people like him deserve laughter in their life.

It seemed like my nameless companion had said something else but I could not hear it as people had entered my exhibit and were talking, their voices drowning out the one that always soothes my tortured soul. Out of anger of not being able to hear my dear Pharaoh's voice I began yelling and banging against the lid of my sarcophagus with a new-found vigor that I dd not have before. To put it simply I was trying to get these sudden visitors of mine to leave so that I may continue talking to my only source of companion ship, the Nameless Pharaoh who is my only light in the darkness. Though my yelling and banging seemed to not do what I had intended it to do as my two visitors continued to converse with each other, paying no attention to my shouts of anger.

End of Ahkmenrah's POV

"Yell all you want, Pharaoh. You've been in there 54 years. You're not getting out tonight." Teddy said in response to the yelling coming from the sarcophagus as Larry was bent over shining his flashlight on the shaking sarcophagus. "There's the source of all this commotion." He said as he pointed to the wall behind the sarcophagus as the night guard stood up straight. "The Tablet of Ahkmenrah. Arrived here in 1952 from the Nile expedition. On that night, everything in this museum came to life... and every night since." Teddy explained as both him and Larry shared a look for a moment as they glanced from the tablet to each other a few times.

"So everything in the museum comes to life every night?" Larry asked wanting to make sure he understood that explanation correctly.

"Exactly." Teddy said which confirmed that Larry did infact understand the explanation.

"And I'm supposed to do what?" Larry asked because he felt like guarding wasn't exactly his job now.

"You're the night watchman, Lawrence, a venerable position in this institution." Teddy said before letting out a shout and pointing his gun at something causing Larry to shout as well. "Ha ha ha, Come on, lad." He said as he gave the night guard a slap on the arm, just poking fun as he began to leave the exhibit.

"All right, OK, this is impossible." Larry said as he glanced at the tablet one last time before hurrying to follow after Teddy who was almost halfway out of the exhibit.

"Nothing's impossible. If it could be dreamed, it could be done. Hence the 20 foot jackal staring at you right now." Teddy said as he simply walked past the Anubis guard statues that were watching them without looking at them. "Don't make eye contact!" He advised as he could just tell that the night guard had turned to look at the stone jackals that were watching them leave. "Your job is to make sure that everyone stays inside the museum. Because if the sun rises and anyone's on the outside, we turn to dust." Teddy said as he stopped walking and turned to face Larry now that they were outside of the Egyptian tomb exhibit.

"You turn to dust?" Larry asked not quite believing that that is what happens when the sun rises and an exhibit is on the outside of the museum.

"Dust." Teddy repeated in an almost whispered tone as he was quite serious about this right now, even if Larry doesn't believe him.

"Really?" Larry asked once again not quite believing the wax mannequin of the 26th USA president.

"Really." Teddy said though he hoped that Larry would never have to realize that that was the truth the hard way. "Now, it's almost dawn. I shall help you restore order tonight, but mark my words, it's the last time I shall ever do so. Is that clear?" He asked hoping that the other male understood that him helping was just a one and done thing.

"Yea. I mean, I mean, I guess. I don't... I'm, I..." Larry said stumbling over some words to try and find the right answer to say.

"Stop babbling, boy!" Teddy bellowed causing Larry to flinch slightly in shock. "Yes or no?" He asked as he wanted an answer right now.

"Yes." Larry stated seeing as basically being yelled at by a president, even one made of wax, had whipped him into shape for now.

"Good! Let's ride." Teddy said as he turned his back to Larry and began walking down the hallway again.

With the help of Teddy it was now much easier to get things under control as Larry walked back to the exhibit that held Sakagawea, the stage coach, more animals, and the Civil War soldiers. The 26th president was in the hallway outside exhibit room, sitting atop Texas looking through a pair of binoculars at Sakagawea who was just looking off into the middle distance, seeming to be lonely. Well, she wasn't necessarily alone in her exhibit, after all Lewis and Clark were in the exhibit with her but they were to engrossed in their mindless arguing to notice her. Teddy has admired her from afar for the past 54 years, never quite having the courage to go up and attempt to communicate with the Native American woman that makes his heart flutter. Sakagawea, being a tracker, was told to be aware of her surroundings so fairly early on into the half a decade of new life at night she had noticed the infatuated president watching from afar. Given the circumstances she thought it was cute, but oh how she wished he would approach her and possibly attempt to communicate with her even if she can't hear anything from behind the glass.

"All right, so all the reptiles are now secure." Larry said now standing next to Teddy and Texas as he glanced between Teddy and the direction that he was looking. "What are you doin'?" He asked curiously after glancing between the president and Sakagawea a few times.

"I'm, uh... tracking, dear boy. Man's got to track." Teddy said whilst putting his binoculars away though even a toddler would know he was lying. "Welcome to the family, Lawrence. See you tomorrow night." He said as he shook Larry's hand before urging Texas to walk back to their exhibit in the main room.

"Actually, I gotta be honest. I don't think I'm coming back." Larry explained as he walked back to the main room with Teddy and Texas as other exhibits walked past them. He assumed they were heading back to their designated places in the museum before the sun comes up and they are no longer alive.

"What? You've only just begun." Teddy said extremely shocked at hearing that Larry was quitting after only one night.

"Yea, well, this is not exactly what I..." Larry said but he ended up trailing off while trying to find a good way to explain why he was giving up after only one night.

"Lawrence." Teddy said suddenly causing Larry's attention to snap back to him as the night guard had been watching some of the exhibits walk by.

"Yeah?" Larry questioned with a raised eyebrow as he looked up at Teddy.

"What did you do before you took this post?" Teddy asked as it seemed only fair that he learned something about the possibly quitting night guard.

"Uh, well, I've done a lot of different things. I, um, I invented this thing called the Snapper." Larry said rambling a bit at the beginning since he didn't really like talking about his failed attempt at being an inventor.

"Did you give up on that, as well?" Teddy inquired because from the sound of it to him it seemed like Larry did give up on that.

"No. I didn't... No, I just hit a few roadblocks. You might have heard of something called the Clapper. That's-" Larry explained once again trying to find a good why to explain a modern day thing to a historical president.

"Lawrence." Teddy said suddenly once again, effectively cutting off the night guard.

"Yes, sir." Larry stated with his attention yet again snapped back to the man on horse back that was infront of him.

"Some men are born great. Others have greatness thrust upon them. For you, this is that very moment." Teddy said though this only caused Larry to feel confused as Teddy had Texas get up onto the platform that holds them during the day. Once his faithful horse was in the proper stance he pulled out his sword and got into his proper pose as well, seeming to be frozen only to turn his head and let out a yell. This caused the now closer night guard to yell in shock for the millionth time that night as he stumbled back slightly, his heart beat feeling like it had skipped a beat for a moment. "Ha ha ha, bully! Got you, boy." Teddy said with a wide smile, clearly poking fun at Larry once again.

"Yea, you got me." Larry stated clearly not all that amused as he begins to walk away as Teddy hummed happily at that, only for him to scream in shock as he heard screaming from the breast pocket of his uniform coat.

"Say hello to your little friend!" Jedediah exclaimed as he had poked himself out of the breast pocket, pointing one of his guns at Larry. "Hey!" He then shouted in protest as the night guard picked him up by the back of his leather/burlap vest and held him up to eye level.

"What are you doing?" Larry asked as he really didn't have time for this right now.

"Put me down! I don't like to be manhandled." Jedediah said as he was kicking his legs and squirming around slightly.

"Just calm down, Jed." Larry stated because the miniature cowboy had no reason to be so riled up.

"It doesn't feel good. It makes me feel small and powerless." Jedediah stated as he continues to be held up by the back of his vest despite making it clear he doesn't like it.

"You done?" Larry questioned clearly not listening to the cowboy's protests or his discomfort towards being manhandled.

"I'm gonna shoot you in your dang eye, in your dad-gum eye." Jedediah threatened as he aimed his gun and clicked off the safety and when he fired, absolutely nothing happened.

"Yea, keep shooting. Nothing's gonna happen." Larry said as there was no reason to feel threatened by a miniature cowboy with useless guns.

"Now you know my shame." Jedediah grumbled as he slipped his gun back into the holster on his left thigh. "Jedediah's impotent rage. His guns don't fire. Take me away." He said motioning with his thumb as he looked away in shame, how can he call himself a cowboy if he doesn't have real working guns? Larry stayed silent at that as he simply just started carrying the pouting cowboy back to the diorama room. "This ain't over. You ain't seen the last of me." Jedediah said still trying to sound threatening but was failing miserably.

"I don't want to hear it, OK?" Larry asked though really it sounded like more of a statement as he looked at Jedediah, said cowboy then screaming as Rexy roars. "Whoa!" He exclaimed as he managed to duck before he could get hit by the T-Rex skeleton that was running back to his exhibit with his bone in his mouth as he climbed up onto his own platform. As Larry stood back up he could see Rexy fitting his rib bone back into it's proper place as he seemed to be the first one to wake up and the last one back to their exhibit.

"Bigger they are, the harder they fall." Jedediah remarked in a snarky tone as Larry begins to walk towards the diorama room once again.

"This is not worth $11.50 an hour." Larry said since he has had way to many near death experiences tonight just to earn $195.5 for one very dangerous night of work.

"Look, the giant's scared. There's a bigger giant running around." Jedediah teased with that same snarky tone as Larry got him back to his exhibit just in time.

As the sun rises on this new day in New York City all the exhibit's seemed to be back in their proper places and in their proper positions as they freeze, turning back to their respective state of being for the day. All the people who are made of wax turn back to wax, the animals loose the life in their eyes as they turn back to stuffed animals with glass eyes, the statues were statues once again. The cloth mannequins become frozen once again, same with the T-Rex skeleton, and last but certainly not least the two mummified Pharaoh's become mummified once again. Not before they took their last few seconds of life given to them by the tablet to bid one another a good morning, knowing they will be able to talk again once the sun sets once more.

Unknown's POV

When Ahkmenrah's angered yells and banging subsided I was both relieved and curious as to what had made him angry enough to freak out once more. I had wanted to ask him but he didn't seem to be in a good enough mood to talk about that sort of thing tonight so I settled for a different topic to talk about. We ended up talking about some of our more happy stories from when we were alive as I was both shocked and amused at his story about sneaking into the Pyramids when he was young. It did seem a bit disrespectful to those buried there though but I was glad to hear that he had paid his proper respect to whatever Pharaoh and Queen that had been buried there. In return I told him about how I ran off on my royal advisor in order to go swimming in a nearby oasis and that I loved to look at all of the colorful Water Lily's, they were also called Lotus flowers. Though as unmanly as it sounded for a Pharaoh like myself, I loved all flowers and had insisted on having flowers of all kinds in my private garden within the palace grounds. I just felt like their beautiful colors helped break up the never ended sand and beagle colors that had been everywhere around me during my brief 6 years as Pharaoh of Egypt.

"I apologies, my dear Pharaoh, but dawn will soon be upon us." Ahkmenrah said politely cutting me off as I had been so happy to tell him my story that I hadn't noticed the familiar pull of dawn approaching.

"Oh, it would seem you are right. I bid you good morning then, Ahkmenrah." I said as it was always bitter sweet of me to say this and not actually be able to see him.

"Good morning, my Lotus flower." Ahkmenrah said as my eyes widened in shock at that new nickname but I had no time to question him as the sun rose and I took my last breath for that night.

End of Unknown's POV

With the museum now silent enough to most likely hear a pin drop Larry walked into the security office and changed out of the uniform, leaving it there as he headed back to the main room. This job was just too dangerous for his liking and whilst it's true he got this job for Nicky's sake he really didn't want the next time his son sees him to be because he's in a casket. So yes he was quitting, he's sure his son will understand, and it really shouldn't be too hard to find a new job within a day as he was positive there were some job ads in the paper. He was 95% positive that he could do this, especially if he wants to get it done before Erica finds out and decides to nag him or worse, take away his rights to see Nicky on Wednesday's and every other few weekends. So with his mind made up he was now waiting for Cecil, Gus, and Reginald to show up seeing as they are allowed to work one more day before they have officially been fired by the museum. Larry was planning on breaking the news to them as soon as they got there so he could just rip off the metaphorical band-aid and get it over as fast and as painlessly as he possibly can.

End of chapter

Wolfie: I know it's weird that I am doing this down here too but I just want to clarify one thing. There will be an age gap between my oc and Ahkmenrah which will be fully explained in a later chapter, it's not a big age gap though I promise. It'll only be by a couple of year's seeing as Ahkmenrah doesn't seem to have a real world counterpart but is believed to be like King Tutankhamen. This is because Ahkmenrah is believed to have died when he was 17 or 18 whilst Tutankhamen is said to have died when he was 19. Meanwhile my oc's backstory is a mishmash of Atemu from Yu-Gi-Oh and Imhotep from the 1999 movie The Mummy, so you could say he is based off of both of those character's. Anyway's I'm only gonna do this here thing at the end once so thank you for reading and please give a review as well!
