Tokoyami eyed Yang close range wasn't something he was particularly good at yet. Not that in this fight it was really an option. He just unlocked his Aura and it was taking a decent amount of focus to maintain it as is like all the other students did. With a bit of training he was certain he could get it to act subconsciously like the others. That and he wasn't certain if Dark Shadow would benefit from it either.
In a flash Yang speed at him. Quickly Dark Shadow intervened with a slash of his claw he managed to direct Yang away from him. "You never said this would be a two on one." Yang said as she cocked a shell in her gauntlet. "Doesn't matter though, just make the fight more fun!" With that Yang launched herself at Tokoyami. Again Dark Shadow moved to invervien. Yang lets herself collide with Dark Shadow landing a punch and unloading a shell in the process. Dark Shadow recoiled back weakened a bit but still able to fight.
Tokoyami glanced at the aura meters and saw only Yang's had gone down very slightly from the swip from Dark Shadow. Despite her landing blows on Dark Shadow his own aura wasn't affected. So his aura didn't cover Dark Shadow that was both a boon and a bane. He was reliant on how much Dark Shadow could take but didn't have to worry about draining his own at the same time. Though Yang gauntlet having what seemed to be shotgun shells in it meant this was like fighting Bakugo.
The sparring match would go through the same loop of Yang coming at him and Dark Shadow either deflecting her away or getting him. This loop went on for a minute or so and it really seemed to annoy Yang. "You're just gonna hide behind your semblance the whole time? Suppose you're just chicken." Yang said with a cock of her gauntlets.
'Dark Shadow come back and hide under my cloak. We are going to use Black Abyss once she's close enough. It's a gamble but I would rather not drag on this spar' Tokoyami really didn't he wanted to understand aura better first but he figured giving Yang a fight would appease her enough to not want to go again for a while till he understood the ways of this world more. Dark Shadow did as he asked only slightly grumbling about wanting to win.
Yang didn't hesitate to launch herself once more. As she closed the distance Tokoyami and Dark Shadow sprung their trap. With Dark Shadow wrapped around himself would let Yang land her attack which pushed him back a bit but since Dark Shadow took the brunt of the blow his aura was left unaffected. He quickly countered with a flurry of swipes. Yang started to back peddle now on the back foot trying to keep away. Yang quickly learned that just a single swipe hurt it dented her aura bit which was already down a quarter due to the keep away game.
Though Yang wasn't one to stay on the back foot for long she quickly countered with her own flurry of blows. Which quickly seemed to wear down Dark Shadow as not only did Yang hit quite hard they were also enhanced with a shotgun blast. In about what was thirty seconds of trading blows Yang was dropped to under a half of her aura and Dark Shadow was completely exhausted. Tokoyami's aura had yet to drop but he knew he wasn't proficient enough to take Yang on in hand to hand. He was about to try to figure out what to do when he heard a gasp from the stands. He saw Ruby pointing to something in between him and Yang. It was a bit of Yang's hair. Dark Shadow must have nipped a bit of it. Tokoyami refocused himself on Yang to only see her flying at him looking very pissed. In an instant Tokoyami was blasted to the edge of the arena and his aura dropped to red about fifteen percent left.
He let out both a groan and sigh of relief as he heard the buzzer going off declaring a winner. That really hurt not that anything felt like it was broken but he did just get flung into a wall by a gun propelled woman. He was about to stand up when he saw a hand offered to him. "That was a good fight, really surprised me your semblance taking blows didn't lower your aura, a good thing to have when you can use it as armor like you did." Tokoyami took Yang's offered hand and got up. "Well you certainly hit hard though I actually know someone who fights kinda like you though he's a bit more explosive than you are." He was going to rest for a bit.
"That was such a cool fight! Though Tokoyami you don't have a weapon?" Ruby said as she rushed to Tokoyami. "Your semblance was so cool sure kept Yang at bay." Tokoyami simply nodded to Ruby's question of not having a weapon. He was a Hero, his body and quirk alone should be good enough to take down most villains. Not like the Grimm that plagued this world.
"Though I am going to retire for the day and prep for classes that I will be taking part in. I will join you for dinner if you have me that is." Tokoyami said as he made for his dorm. "Of course you can join us for dinner. We shall meet up at your dorm." Ruby replied as he left. Upon returning to his dorm Tokoyami would quickly crack open the books he had and begane pouring over them again.
Qrow let out a sigh as his scroll buzzed. He was piss drunk in a bar in the far reaches of Vale again. This is how he spent most nights when he wasn't out in the woods. When he was drunk his life felt a little bit easier. Though with his luck his life always sucked. He glanced at his scroll and saw that it was a message from Ozpin. Which meant another mission for him on top of the ones he was already on. Qrow slowly got up paid for drinks and left the bar. He quickly moved into an alleyway so he could view the message in private. It was a new mission to hunt for a criminal only known as Red and worked with the White Fang. Qrow had seen him a few times and he always got the uncanny feeling that Red always knew he was around. Though he was curious why Oz wanted him to capture him.
He was about to leave the alleyway when he saw the very man he was sent to find at the end of it. "My I bet you might think yourself mighty lucky just happening upon me. But it is the other way around I am mighty lucky to find you. Afterall I need you for a test." Red said in a jovial tone and when to turn the corner away from Qrow. Qrow quickly gave chase and found himself tripping due to his semblance. "Oh I had hoped your semblance would act up and make my life a whole lot easier. Tell the Teachers Tokoyami is safe for now." Red said as he watched Qrow trip and stumble throw one the doorways he used to travel. Though this one was set up back on Earth where he took Tokoyami from.
Sure, it was not fair to take a student and give a veteran huntsman back. No but he had plans and a lot of people wanted him to use his power for them. Villains wanted this, Salem wanted that. He just wanted to see what the worlds would make of it. Now was time for him to see what Adam wanted him to do then he could do what he wanted.
Qrow found himself tumbling into a classroom full of students of a school he had never seen before. Curse his damn semblance open a fight with a trip that semblance for him though. He luckily caught himself from falling into anyone's desk. Before he got to do anything he found himself wrapped up in a scarf or something. "Students leave now while I deal with this intruder and I mean all of you! And get the Principal and All Might" The person who had wrapped him up showed. He watched all of the students quickly leave though some seemed to want to stay and possibly fight or figure out how he got there.
Once the students were gone the man stared at him. "Now you are going to answer my questions, who are you? Where is the man in Red? And why did he send you here?"
Qrow was confused for a moment but it seemed that this man had dealt with Red before. "The name's Qrow, I was about to fight him but he sent me here and I don't know why he sent me here. He just said to tell the Teachers Tokoyami is safe." He quickly responded to the man.
Aizawa stared at the man keeping his quirk active the whole time. This Qrow didn't seem to be lying to him but he would have him interrogated by the resident lie detector to confirm but judging from the man's general confused state he might be telling the truth. Well once the principal and All Might showed up they all would deal with this man.
Yes I am back sort of. Got a new position that gives me even more free time and after uploading the start of my mouse guard fanfic I got in the mood to reconstruct what i had and get back on this train. Now I last said 5k weekly updates. Well i doubt my updates will be weekly but I will start gunning for 5k but I felt like I might give you guys something. I say I will shoot for once perhaps twice a month updates. Hopefully you all enjoy this and yes I tossed Qrow to my hero as part of a plan I have and also I want use Qrow as he doesn't get enough love in my opinion
