AN: I had originally planned for Hyde not to find out till he reads the letter, but it just worked out this way. Sometimes it feels like a story takes on its own path and not what I had in mind when I started. It might say something when I went back to reread what I wrote, I had tears? Just a warning. I am trying to go over each chapter before I publish this time. I have up to chapter seven started, and well it is still going to be a while before interaction between the two. Also I wanted Jackie to have Donna's support in this one, I hated how she was in season eight. Well didn't most of us hate a lot of season eight even if we only watched it once or heard enough about it to hate it?
Hyde squealed into the driveway, slammed the door after he got out with both boxes. He made his way to the basement he put the boxes under is cot and then heard a very angry Red Forman from the top of the stairs.
"Where have you been and why are you making so much noise?"
"Where's Jackie? I know you know where she is. I need to talk to her." Hyde yelled back.
OH crap, Red thought, does he have that letter from Jackie already?
"Why do you care where Jackie is? Last I heard you burned that bridge, you didn't care about her when that tramp showed up and you cut Jackie from your life. You showed all of us she means nothing to you, why do you care now?"
"If she's carrying my kid I care!"
"How do you know that? And is that the only reason?" Red decided he would find out before he jumped to conclusions and went to kill the kettlehead and the foreigner.
"I found the test in a box in her room and that is all you need to know!"
Red made his way downstairs, trying to process what he was saying. "What were you doing in her room? Do you need a breaking and entering charge against you? You are over eighteen now, it will stick to your record."
"Is it breaking and entering if you have a key?" He would leave out he didn't use the key, but he did have one.
"OK, so nothing technically illegal, but why did you go over there?"
Hyde knew Red had him, he never could lie to him, "I just wanted to check on her, there is an eviction notice. Why didn't she tell me?"
"Sit" Red commanded. "Did you tell anyone when you needed help when you was in her place? No you didn't, you are too dumb to realize that you and Jackie are too much alike. You both have had crappy parents, and you are both too proud to admit you need help, especially to your friends or each other. Jackie was ready to kick me because I had told Eric he was helping clean out the ski cabin. She then made Eric promise not to say anything to you. So you think the same girl wouldn't try to keep that from you as well."
"But after that I thought she understood not to keep things like from me"
Red took and sat in the lawn chair across from Hyde, "Look at everything that has happened between the two of you since that night. The relationship has been through a lot of downs and some ups. You two had just gotten back together with a promise not to talk about the future, how do you think she felt she could trust you to let you know what was going on? She had just found out she was pregnant when the notice finally came, she knew it was going to happen. You might not know, but Pam took off before Christmas, when she did she didn't make sure the taxes were paid, of course it was more than Jackie could afford and she wasn't about to ask even her uncle for help. She told her uncle that she was going to get an apartment with her boyfriend when he finally learned about the foreclosure."
Hyde looked up, he never thought of what she was going through. "Where is she?"
Red looked him straight in the eye, "Away from you"
At that he stood up and started to pace, anger coming back "So what now she was going to hide that she has my kid?"
Red's anger came back, "You want to be strapped to a baby? And no she wasn't keeping this from you. I'll have Kelso over here tomorrow with the letter she left for you. It was thought best to wait for Jackie to be settled. If I understand Kitty you were pretty hateful to her that last meeting. She gave you the chance to ever have anything to do with her again, and you basically made it clear you could care less if you ever saw her again."
"So that's it, now another kid with grow up without a father?"
"No I think she will allow you visitation, but a kid won't grow up in house with parents that won't get along. Jackie doesn't want her child to live in a house like she grew up in. You proved to her you don't love her, she won't tie herself to someone for a lifetime commitment that won't love her and has done nothing but break her heart over the last several months. She doesn't want to keep your child from you, but she wants to protect herself. Her grandmother as bad as it sounds, died at just the right time, leaving Jackie quite a bit to cover her, she now has access to her trust fund. Jackie finally has the financial security that she hasn't known since the day Jack Burkhart was arrested."
"How am I going to be part of my kid's life if I can't talk to the mother?" He sat back down in the chair.
Red also took a seat, "Well there are a few months before we have to worry about that, but I guess if anything Kitty and I, or WB will be the go between. Because I know for one you better be sober any time you are going to be with your kid."
Hyde thought back to the conversation earlier with Kelso, he wasn't going to do a circle again, or drink to get drunk because of Betsey.
Red looked at the man sitting in front of him, "Steven I want to ask you something, and I want total honesty." As he silently agreed, Red went on. "Do you have the urge to drink till you forget all your problems or even get high? Don't look at me like that, I know what you guys do, I don't like it. But as long as you were doing that in the basement, at least you weren't hurting others by being out driving. That night you guys got drunk in the warehouse with Charlie, I was most upset that you guys drove, it is amazing you didn't kill yourself or someone else that night. It is one thing to drink, but to drink where you guys were passed out in my living room because you couldn't make it to your bedrooms. You know I thought that maybe if you hadn't gotten as wasted as you did, you could have been there for Jackie like you should have been. You would have met Randy under normal circumstances, not jumping to conclusions. But then I seen how you have treated her lately and figure it is for the best. Jackie now knows how you feel about her, and she can put up the barriers against you. God knows you have been putting up your own long enough. Maybe she can one day trust you not to hurt her. There might be a day you two can be in the same room and discuss you kid, but yea that isn't going to happen anytime soon. Just to warn you I, WB, Bob, Donna and the boys are all going to do everything we can to prevent you from hurting her again. Look I'll call and have Kelso drop the letter over in the morning."
"Why Kelso of all the people? I mean I am going to get a letter from my girlfriend being handed to me by her ex!"
"One, ex-girlfriend you made sure about that the moment you let her know you were staying with that whatever she was. And two, this has nothing to do with Jackie and Kelso's past relationship, but everything to do with Kelso is one of your best friends, Kelso is a father and part of the reason he is, is because you talked to him about doing the right thing by Brooke. Not to mention you are his daughter's godfather. You need to get over that there was a past between Jackie and Kelso, she didn't hold to you that you and your fling of girls before her."
"Kelso won't hit me again tomorrow will he?"
Red couldn't help but laugh, "God I hope if he does I am there to watch. I know the plan was the two of us was going to make sure you read this letter."
Hyde took a deep breath, he had a lot to think about before the next day, there would be no opening of Grooves tomorrow. He hoped WB would understand. It was hitting him, not only was Jackie pregnant that meant he was going to be a father and the child's mother hated him. The woman that had once loved him more than he deserved now hated him, hated him in a way that he deserved.
"Get some sleep, we will talk tomorrow." Red told him as he started up the stairs.
Kitty was in the kitchen waiting for Red, "I called the boys and talked to Michael, I heard most of what you both said. Michael will be over with the letter in the morning. Look Michael told us that Randy had told them that Jackie was in the hospital last week, dehydration. I know this might not sound like something I would say, but Steven can't know where Jackie is. After the words he said to her that night in this kitchen, it wasn't good and Jackie doesn't need that stress…Red I am a nurse, this isn't just losing a baby or babies now, it could cause Jackie her own life." Kitty was crying now. Red knew the only thing he could do was hold her. They all would do whatever it took to protect Jackie and the babies.
Hyde made his way to his room, the boxes he brought from Jackie's on his cot. Did Jackie think he didn't love her? His mind wondered back over the last several months, even Christmas she was showing signs she wanted to know if he was going to grow up, she was all alone again in that house. She pulled that stunt with the wedding because she wanted to know what it was like to plan a wedding and a life together. He thought back, it was the last of her childhood dreams he made her squash. Her room had no longer held the posters he had once called childish. She had even painted her bedroom lavender and had changed her bedding. Changed, she had changed more than just her room, she wasn't the shallow princess, she wasn't the rich snob. She had said at Christmas it was time to grow up more or less. And she had, now she had to grow up, she had a baby to take care of. He noticed a letter on his dresser it was addressed to him in Foreman's handwriting, he wasn't sure how long the letter had been there.
Hyde,
Look man I hope you show up soon. Mom called me after her and dad got back from Chicago in case I had tried to reach them, they hadn't had a chance to let anyone know that they were gone for the day. They told me what happened and what you did. I know she left you a letter, probably telling you she had to leave. Knowing her she probably told you everything. Dude I know I have acted like I have hated Jackie, though you can't talk yourself. But that girl is like a little sister, everyone probably knows I like her a lot more than Laurie. You know when I sold that ring for money for my year off, I knew I owed her, it didn't feel right not giving her the money back that she used of her own. But she wouldn't take it back. That girl is not the same girl that Kelso brought to the basement all those years ago. She has been hiding behind a mask as much if not more than you, hiding all the hurt, pain and just how much her real life sucked. She had to do it for the reputation of her family. She had to pull off the perfect daughter, the perfect cheerleader, the perfect girlfriend no matter what a jerk she was dating. Jackie and I actually had a long talk when I tried to give her the money back, don't feel bad I figure it is payback for that conversation you had with Donna when her parents started going through their problems. I hope by the time you get this letter you have worked things out with her. Yea that conversation you had when you guys were broke up last time, you were less pissed off with Jackie, but man I wish you would seriously man up and admit you love her. I know you do. I don't know why you care about your reputation and what others think. You have let what the rest of us think of you guide your relationship with Jackie. I don't get it, you seemed to care more what others think of you and your bad boy reputation than the girl that loves you. Man we are out of high school, it is time to put that crap behind you. Man it is time to grow up, you can't spend the rest of your life smoking and drinking it up in my parents' basement. I know most people think I am crazy coming to Africa for a year, leaving Donna. But Donna and I have had a serious talk on the way to the airport, yea I could have come up with another way to earn money for college, but I seriously needed to cut the cord. It isn't as much of proving anything to Donna, but proving to myself I am a man that doesn't need his mommy or his girlfriend to take care of him. This first month has been amazing, I have already learned so much here. I am excited for what I will learn here and how much a I grow. And as corny as it might sound especially to you, I look forward to just the communication with Donna, letters, phone calls they will be all we have. We will have a year to talk to each other our plans for the future, this will help us when to prepare for the future in a way we have avoided over the last few years. Donna agreed that this time apart might be time we grow our relationship in ways we haven't.
The way mom talked dad and WB are ready to kick your ass, I talked briefly with Fez and it seems they are all lining up to get a crack at you. I wanted to check on Jackie, yes I just wanted to hear her voice but mom said she was still in Chicago. She's supposed to be back for a dinner next week or so. I hope you guys work things out, you two need each other and have a love for each other that is rare. I just wish you would get over yourself and admit it.
Man it is easy to say things in a letter, especially when I am thousands of miles away and you can't hit me.
May the Force be with You,
Foreman
Hyde sat there stunned, yea Foreman wouldn't have the balls to tell him what he just did to his face. He tried back a few months ago when he and Jackie were broke up. Even then it was clear that Foreman was pro Jackie. He needed sleep he had a feeling tomorrow was going to be a long day.
Kelso woke up the next morning, his hand hurt from the punch he landed on Hyde. He couldn't believe for once he was able to duck his punch and land his own. Before he set off to face Hyde again, but lucky he would have Mr. Foreman with him he wanted to check on his girl. She had a slight fever and runny nose when he talked to Brook yesterday, and she had a doctor's appointment scheduled today. He needed to let her know he might be out even though it was a day off. He figured he would let her know what was going on. It was hard to believe that his baby girl was going to be a year old soon. They had planned to have the party in Point Place, she was trying to walk and he couldn't wait to see her again.
Brook answered the phone, "Hey Michael"
"Hey Brooke how did you know it was me?"
"I figured you would call first thing this morning to check on Betsey, she did fine last night, I talked to mom and she said it probably is teething and I gave her Tylenol and a soothing bath last night and we both slept pretty good."
"Well that is good to hear, is she still asleep?"
"Yea actually she is, that is why I made sure to pick the phone up so quick so it didn't wake her up yet."
"Man I am sorry Brooke I didn't even think about that, I am sorry."
"No problem, though I didn't think you would be up this early."
Kelso went on to explain what had happened last night when Hyde stopped by, he admitted to hitting him and the phone call from Kitty last night as she heard Hyde and Red exchange words.
"Brooke he knows that she is pregnant. I don't know if she needs to be told or what. We had planned to wait till we got her and Donna moved in Milwaukee before I gave him the letter, but after last night I am going to give it to him this morning. I hope that once Randy gets back maybe we can go a day or so earlier to get them moved."
"So what does his wife have to say about all this?"
"Oh Brooke that I don't know how that is going to be taken, but the chick was lying and trying to scam him. They weren't married and he sent her packing when he found out."
"You have to be kidding me! He put Jackie through all that for nothing?" Brooke had met with the girls after Jackie's appointment, the girls had filled Brook in on everything that had happened in Point Place and their decision to move to Milwaukee and that they already had a place thanks to WB.
"Yea, man I don't know what he is doing. This isn't the same dude that punched a guy out for calling her a bitch, and that was before they started up. I don't know, I am just glad Red is going to be there."
They talked a little more, Brooke let him know what time Betsey's doctor's appointment was so he would know when would be best to call and find out how she was doing.
After Kelso hung up with Brooke he got ready for the day and then walked over to Randy's apartment. He hated to be the one to tell him the news he had to share with him.
Randy let him in, "Hey I figured you would be sleeping most of the day since you didn't have to work or anything."
"Yea I probably should, but well…" He related the story of Hyde coming over last night and the argument that happened. "It sounds like Hyde after he left here went over to the mansion, not sure how he got in, I think Jackie gave him a key. Anyways he found the pregnancy test."
Randy let out a curse.
"Yea, Hyde and Red got into last night when Hyde got home. Kitty called me after she heard. I am getting ready to head over there with the letter. Sorry we couldn't wait. I talked to Brooke this morning and told her. She has to take Betsey to the doctors this afternoon, so she won't be talking to Jackie or Donna today."
"Man we have to get Jackie out of Chicago."
"How furnished is the condo? Do they need to wait till we get their stuff before they move in?"
Randy got up and walked over to call WB, after talking to him he went back to Kelso.
"OK WB said the condo is ready, just if they want to change anything. I am going to see about moving them today. Sounds like the store won't be opening today anyways. WB is on his way here, said he would be at the Foreman's in an hour if you can wait. He wants to be there with you and Red for support."
"Ok, I'll wait a bit before I head over there."
"I was supposed to call my mom before I left, I'll see if I can talk to Donna and let her know to be ready. Hyde can find out where my parents live, and I wouldn't put it past him to try to go there. I know you, Red and WB will try and prevent him, but just in case. Honestly I would love to witness him meeting my dad." Randy sighed, this was going to be a long day, not only would he be going to Chicago, but looks like a stop in Milwaukee before coming back to Point Place, maybe there would be a place to crash at the condo, even if a couch is all there is.
He picked up the phone again, luckily Donna answered the phone.
"Pearson's residence"
"Hey Donna, glad you answered. Look is Jackie around?"
"No she is still asleep, your parents have already left for the day. What's up?"
"Hyde apparently let himself into Jackie's old room last night found a pregnancy test. From what Kitty told Kelso last night him and Red got into it, so Kelso is going over shortly to give Hyde the letter, WB is on his way to the Foreman's now. You ready to move out of my parent's house today?"
"I know I am, it feels weird staying in a house that I don't know the people that well. I think Jackie is ready too. I think she is starting to feel like she is a charity case for her aunt and uncle and ready to be on her own."
"Look I don't know if we should let her know that Hyde knows. But I have a feeling if Red and WB are unable to restrain Hyde he will be able to track down my parents' house and will show up there. Tell Jackie I have the day off and am coming to help her move, then once she gets to the condo and sees it if there is anything else she wants to add to the list that we need to get from her house. That way if I stay with you guys tonight at the condo I can have a full list to be ready for Kelso and me to grab and if you need anything else for your dad. I think we are bringing Fez with us when we bring your car and things, just to keep him out of the line of fire."
"Yea that sounds good, Jackie might want Fez's opinion if she wants to redecorate anything. I'll let Jackie know when she wakes up, I'll start getting my stuff packed. Do you know where the condo is?"
"No we are going to meet Angie at Grooves in Milwaukee and she will show us the way. How was her doctor's appointment?"
Donna took a breath, not her news to share, "It went good, you'll have to ask Jackie when you get here, got to hear the heartbeat."
"That sounds good, look I am going to pack a bag wasn't planning on being gone as long as I am now. But I should be there in about 3 hours. I wasn't planning on seeing my parents today anyways so at least we won't have to wait around for them. I'll call dad's office and let him know what is going on. Oh, and I know you might appreciate it, but Hyde went to hit Kelso last night and Kelso was able to duck it and land a punch that broke his glasses and blacked his eye."
"Oh I wish I could have seen that one."
"Yea I am sure several would have loved to see that."
After getting off the phone with Donna, Randy went and packed an overnight bag. WB had told him not to bother coming into the store today, it might be closed for a few days. He would pack his car and Jackie's and then head to the Grooves offices in Milwaukee to meet Angie and she would show them to the condo. He sort of worried what Kelso was going to face He had come to like Kelso and Fez they were both good guys, he could tell that Kelso had grown up a lot. Jackie told him that a lot of that was being a father and finally growing up. It had hurt her that the boy that ran away from her two years ago was now grown, living in his own apartment, had a job as a police officer that he now took seriously and was showing to be a good father, but the man she loved was refusing to grow up. Kelso's day wasn't going to be pleasant, but at least Red and WB would be there too.
Kelso finally made his way to the Foreman's, Kitty was getting ready to head to work and met Kelso in the driveway.
"Michael, how are you doing?"
"I am doing fine Mrs. Foreman. Brook is taking Betsey to the doctor this afternoon. She has had a slight fever and runny nose, Brook says it might just be teething, but she is already scheduled for a well check. Can't believe she is going to be one next month. Do you know if Hyde is up yet?"
"Yea I heard him in his room this morning when I put some clothes in the dryer. Good luck today" Kitty reached up and gave Kelso a peck on the cheek.
"Thanks, Randy is going to go ahead and get Donna and Jackie moved to Milwaukee, WB is on his way here."
"Well I am off to work if you need anything, I just hope none of you show up in the ER today."
Kelso made his way to the kitchen where Red was sitting reading the paper, "Hey Mr. Foreman."
"Kelso, have a seat, I owe you a beer later. That was a nice hit you got in last night. I guess you have the letter on you?"
"Yea, Randy is on his way to get the girls moved today. Everything is set up for them."
"Good I have a feeling he might try and head back to Chicago. I figure we will give him the letter and let him read it"
"Randy called WB he is on his way, probably will be here before he finishes the letter. I still can't believe he didn't read all of that first letter. Or that he didn't even attempt to kick Randy's ass if what he thought was happening. I guess he was just looking for a reason to leave."
At that Hyde made his way to the kitchen, "Who was looking for a reason to leave?" Hyde didn't get much sleep and his brain was slower than normal.
"You, you really didn't care for Jackie, I mean I don't know ever since the store and everything you have been pushing her away, I don't know why Fez bothered to get you back together. If he had stayed out of it we wouldn't be in this mess we are in."
"What WE Kelso? As far as I understand it this is between Jackie and I, it has nothing to do with you or Donna or Fez or anyone else."
"No you don't understand, this has stuck us in the middle. What are friends for if they are not going to call you out on your shit. Just like you called me out when I was ready to walk away from Brook when she was pregnant. Well congratulations, you did the same thing, only you didn't find out till you after you walked away!"
Red knew it would come to punches soon if this continued. He wasn't sure if he could pull them apart himself.
"ENOUGH!" Red yelled, both boys back away from the other. "OK, Kelso this isn't the time to point out how much of a dumbass Steven is, your job right now is to give him the letter, and Steven your job is to read the letter, ALL of the letter this time, don't wad it up and toss it aside if you get to something you don't like. You can go read the letter in the basement, we will wait here for you to finish"
Kelso handed the envelope over to Hyde. He hadn't read it though Fez tried to talk him into opening it and reading just so they would know what to expect. But he wasn't going to break the privacy of Jackie.
Hyde took the letter and looked at Red, "Can I read this alone or are you both going to watch me to make sure I read it?"
"You can go to the basement, we will stay up here." Red told him.
Hyde went back down the stairs with the letter in hand. He heard Red from the kitchen yell down the stairs, "You better keep a clear head as you read that, no excuses of forgetting what was written!"
He decided the couch would be more comfortable for what was going to be probably uncomfortable time.
After Red yelled down the stairs, he looked over at Kelso, "Go move your van to block his Camino, we are going to make sure he can't run off"
Hyde opened the letter and pulled out several sheets of paper, he took a deep breath before he started reading.
Steven,
Is it crazy for me to address you as that right now? I mean I have called you Steven even before we officially or unofficially got together. But it hurt too much to think of addressing you as Hyde. But you are more Hyde than my Steven lately. I don't know if I can write it down to explain it. But things have changed between us over the last year. Just as your life was finally coming together, you found your real father you got a great job doing something you loved. You even got a sister that despite it all is pretty cool. Anyways, while your life was coming together mine was falling apart. I will never have the wedding of my dreams, my father walking me down the aisle after my mother helped me get ready. My father won't be getting out of prison soon, my last visit he told me not to bother coming to see him anymore, he didn't need to be bothered by me. My mother took off not long after you opened Grooves when she saw the picture of you with your dad and Angie, she confronted me asking who they were. Let us just say she was not happy that despite WB having money that wasn't enough to make up for the color of his skin. The irony is she is somewhere down in Mexico with the cabana boys, I guess their skin is lighter I don't know. I tried to tell you but I was asking about our future and you would get upset with me. I was living alone again, trying to figure out a job and so many responsibilities while you were playing with toys, saying things like you were trying to have some fun before life turned to crap. Well that must be nice, my life had already turned to crap. I had no parents, no money to pay bills until my show started. My boyfriend was clueless because he didn't want to talk about anything serious and got mad at me for going to a wedding to get one last dream that I had knowing it wasn't going to happen. It was the last thing I did for that little girl that grew up believing in Fairytales, happily ever afters, and thought her parents loved her unconditionally. Standing in the basement that day we broke up that finally died, I would never have a life with the man who turned out to be a boy. Honestly I was barely holding myself together, I don't know how I did it. My cousin, I guess now you know the truth, that guy in my room that night is my cousin and I am not like Eric to even think about doing anything with my cousin, but he has been like a big brother at times. He tried to get me to move then to Chicago with my granny. I had to try to prove to everyone that you didn't crush me so I stayed.
That night we got back from the Packer's game I walked home, I didn't make it home before the sleet and freezing rain started, I ended up sick and at the doctors. I stayed inside for the next several days. Only Donna and Fez checked on me, I made them promise they wouldn't say anything. I knew then you really didn't care for me, but later when we were in the basement with Fez I made myself believe that you really did. Well I later learned that antibiotics cause birth control pills to be ineffective. For some reason that isn't something that is told, usually till too late.
I am pregnant, I am going to keep this baby. But before we go back to the fact that I am going to be a mother, there is more that needs to be said. I need to get this out there because well I am tired of the stress I have been under, it has made me sick and I really don't like hospitals.
We had a great few weeks. The best day I can say was the day we went to the car show with Red and Kitty, you was the perfect boyfriend that day. But then shortly after that I missed my period, I didn't know if it was the stress or what. I had to ask granny for money to cover the utilities. I ended up taking a pregnancy test after I noticed other signs. I was scared, I didn't know what I was going to do or how I was going to tell you. Then we watched Betsey. I thought it would be good to maybe figure out how to tell you. Then we had that argument. I was crushed. I never wanted to back you into a corner like you told Eric when he was planning on proposing to Donna. Then granny was dying and I was needed in Chicago to say goodbye and be with my family. In a panic I gave you that stupid ultimatum. It is amazing those that believed I had a job offer from no college degree and that stupid show. Then you went and got drunk with the guys, it was like Christmas all over again. I had to get to Chicago, but you were still passed out and I wrote the letter that now I hear you didn't even finish reading. I don't even know if I am wasting my time writing all this. The fact that you didn't bother reading my last letter But I need to get this out.
The night you showed up in Chicago, Randy (again my COUSIN!) had brought me back after we had spent the day at the hospital as granny died. I was in the motel because if you did decide to join me, I figured you wouldn't feel comfortable at my aunt and uncle's house.
I won't go through the turmoil I went through for the month you were missing. Knowing you, you would think I was laying on some guilt trip so I'll leave that alone.
So you show up with a wife, thanks. You wouldn't talk about marriage with me but some stranger is OK. It was like back when I finally found I could forgive you for the nurse but you had date with someone else, because you wasn't going to wait for me. God why did I take you back after that?
Well that's it, we are over for good you made sure of that. But you left me with a little gift to remember you with for the rest of my life before you destroyed me.
But I am going to cherish this baby, I am going to protect it and love it like I was never loved or protected. I am going to grow up and take charge of my life. I have learned now I can never depend on someone else aside from myself again. Thankfully granny has seen to my financial security, so I can provide for my child.
I am not going to do to you what Edna did to WB and keep the information to myself. My child will know you are the father, but I seriously doubt you care. Because having a child means you have to grow up, and we know you have some Peter Pan complex that keeps you from wanting to grow up. Even Michael has taken responsibility with Betsey, he has taken his job seriously. I never would have thought the one that I always thought was the most mature of our group would be the one that would be the last of us to grow up.
I don't know if you want to be part of this child's life or not. But I will put my foot down on your wife having any contact. I don't know her, I doubt you even know her. So I don't trust her. You will have to be sober when you are with our child. I can have my uncle draw up some legal paperwork or whatever. I may have to ask Red and Kitty if they will help with any visitation you have because I WILL NOT BE THERE. You made it perfectly clear you want nothing to do with me and I am tired of being used and abused by you. I just pray if you are part of my child's life that you don't treat it like you have treated me over the last several months. I have moved out of Point Place, I am not letting you know where. Point Place is too small and I don't want to worry about seeing you with your wife.
Let Red know if you want to know my child, if so I guess I'll see what my uncle can do since he is a lawyer.
Jackie
For the first time there was no love before her name, there was no heart over her I. Hyde sat there with a million thoughts running through his mind.
He looked up at saw some paper and pen on the wheel table in front of him. He noticed it was the same paper that Jackie had used for the letter she wrote him before she left for Chicago. Did she come over find him passed out and come down here to write the letter to give to Mrs. Foreman? He grabbed the paper and started to write down his questions.
Where the hell was she?
How are they to co-parent if she won't talk or see him?
He thought of stuff he had heard Kelso talk about when Brook was pregnant with Betsey, was he going to miss all of that?
He also thought back to how she kept referring to his wife, maybe she didn't know when she wrote the letter, but surely she knew that he wasn't married? Shouldn't that make a difference?
He knew before he could get to Jackie he had barriers of Kelso and Red. So grabbing the letter and the paper with his questions he headed up stairs.
