this chapter we're back to the present and they are at school, but we will flashback to the summer again! as always thank you so much for reading!
With a book hugged tightly to her chest, Sarada trotted through the school halls on her way to her class. After a successful first week of school, she was feeling much more confident about this year.
Sarada hummed a happy tune as she mentally reviewed her daily checklist of school work and student council business when her ears unconsciously tuned in to the conversation of the boys in front of her.
"Did you hear Boruto swiped his v-card over the summer?" Iwabe asked in a playful whisper. Dark eyes widened as Sarada anxiously squeezed her book tighter.
No way.
There was no way Boruto would do this to her.
"With who?!" Inojin laughed incredulously.
Sarada suddenly felt light-headed, all the other sounds in the bustling hallway seemed to dull as she fixated on the conversation ahead of her.
She couldn't believe Boruto would spill their secret!
Her steps quickened, ensuring she could keep up with Iwabe and Inojin, desperate to know the kind of narrative Boruto was painting about their time together this summer.
"Apparently, it was some random girl he had a fling with when he was on vacation," Iwabe shrugged.
"So you're telling me Boruto is going around claiming he had sex with some girl no one has ever met or seen before?!" Inojin burst out laughing. "I call bullshit! He's just making stuff up to sound cool."
Sarada exhaled a harsh sigh as a wave of relief washed over her. She didn't care so much if people believed him, she was just thankful he didn't mention her.
Yeah, she was definitely thankful, despite the strange nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach.
When Sarada walked into her classroom, the students had congregated around different desks in their various friend groups, chatting away before the school day formally began. Iwabe and Inojin joined the several boys that were already gathered around Boruto in the back of the classroom.
"What can I say, fellas? The ladies can't keep their hands off me," Boruto bragged as he leaned back and laced his fingers behind his head.
Sarada couldn't help but roll her eyes as she approached ChoCho's desk. As much as she wanted to pretend she was completely disinterested in his conversation, Sarada couldn't help herself from eavesdropping.
"Wait, so you met this girl while your family was on vacation?" Inojin questioned with an amused smirk.
Blue eyes narrowed and Boruto replied, "Yeah, that's what I said."
"So, then what's her name?" he pressed.
Sarada's entire body tensed when she felt his gaze momentarily flicker over to her. Her heartbeat accelerated. There was no way he would be stupid enough to say this random girl's name just so happened to also be Sarada.
"Her name was Summer," Boruto shrugged and all his friends began to snicker.
"You met a girl named Summer over summer?" Shikadai questioned with an incredulous eyebrow raised.
"You are such a fucking liar!" Inojin chimed in after and the group of boys broke out into a rowdy fit of laughter. Sarada watched as a rosy hue bloomed across Boruto's cheeks. He wasn't often the subject of other's teasing.
"Oh yeah! Well, just watch out when your girl asks to sit on my face and I'll make her scream like I did to Summer," he scowled and sunk lower in his desk chair with his arms crossed over his chest.
His friends continued to laugh but Sarada turned away, absolutely mortified. Her own cheeks grew hot just thinking how explicitly Boruto must have regaled their summer vacation.
"Boys are so vulgar," ChoCho scoffed, clearly also listening. But then again, it was hard not to with the obnoxious volume at which they spoke.
Sarada decided she needed to break up the boys' conversation to save herself from further embarrassment. She marched up to her desk and the group grew quiet, but all of them were still struggling to contain their amused titters at Boruto's expense.
"That's my desk," Sarada said, looking pointedly at her chair with her arms crossed.
The boys jumped up to move out of her way before she added, "And you should really refrain from having such inappropriate conversations at school." Her dark stare turned to Boruto. "I'm talking to you, Boruto."
The boys all hastily scattered, not wanting to get in trouble by Sarada.
"That funny coming from a girl who loves inappropriate books as much as you do," Boruto whispered with a challenging smirk. Her eyes widened nervously as she glanced around to make sure no one heard him.
"Shut up!" Sarada muttered as she slipped into her desk. "And fix your tie!"
"He's annoying and obnoxious and I honestly can't stand him!" Sarada ranted to her friends at lunch. Her face grew hot from frustration at Boruto's constantly vexing behavior.
He kept whispering to her during class that morning and distracting her from the lesson. Yeah, it was definitely his disruptive behavior that frustrated her, not the way his soft, breathy whispers against her neck gave her goosebumps.
Her current irritability certainly wasn't a result of sexual frustration caused by the fact that she had resolved she was totally done doing that kind of stuff with him, and yet was constantly having to hear about it, and therefore think about it.
That would be ridiculous!
"Who are we talking about?" Wasabi asked as she and Namida set their lunch trays down on the table and took a seat.
"Boruto Uzumaki," Sumire replied.
"Ooh! Everyone's been talking about how he lost his virginity this summer," Namida commented and Sarada tensed.
How did it seem everyone knew?
"He was bragging before class this morning, too," ChoCho rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed.
"I kind of feel bad for the girl he was with…" Sumire shyly muttered.
"If she even exists!" ChoCho interjected with a cackle.
"I mean what if she thought they had this really special summer romance and he only talks about the…" Sumire lowered her voice as if it was a bad word. "...sex."
ChoCho chuckled at their friend's innocence. "I swear boys our age are so immature. They only think about one thing. Right, Sarada?"
Sarada flinched at the mention of her own name.
"Totally," she agreed, even though it was ironic because she kept finding herself only thinking about one thing these days. Her dark gaze unconsciously drifted to Boruto sitting a few tables over, laughing with his group of friends as they all played on their handheld gaming devices.
She needed to find a time to talk to him later about what exactly he was telling people. She could still hardly believe how quickly the information had spread or why people seemed to be so interested.
"Sarada?"
"What?" she asked, shaking her head to clear her wandering thoughts.
"I said do you believe him or do you think he's just lying for clout?" ChoCho repeated.
"Umm," Sarada hesitated, unsure what was the most logical position for her to take on the matter would be, despite knowing the truth. "He's annoying, but I don't really think he's a liar."
"I wonder how he is in bed?" Namida commented and all the girls turned and gawked at her. "What?! You were all thinking it!"
The entire table of girls burst into laughter, while Sarada sat there, blushing profusely.
Dark eyes scanned the hallway making sure no one was watching as Sarada approached Boruto's locker. He was shuffling through his belongings when he noticed her and a soft smile spread across his lips.
His grin only seemed to widen when he picked up on her obvious irritation. Boruto had a feeling her current mood had something to do with him.
"Why are you telling everybody in the whole damn school that you had sex?!" Sarada asked in a harsh whisper.
He glanced to the side, before leaning a bit closer to her. "Sarada, I was the first of my friends to lose my virginity, I was not about to miss out on those bragging rights. It's not my fault it sort of spread around."
Sarada's eyes narrowed as her fists clenched in frustration. 'Not his fault'? He was practically announcing it to their entire class this morning!
Boruto chuckled, "I didn't say it was with you, so why does it even matter?"
Suddenly, that same icky feeling from early resurfaced and churned uncomfortably in her stomach. "Would you…" Sarada trailed off as her gaze fell to the floor. "Never mind."
"Would I, what?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. "You can ask me."
"Would you be embarrassed to say it was with me?" she mumbled, unsure why she even cared to know.
"What? No!" Boruto shook his head. "It's just I thought you didn't want me to and honestly, some random girl I met this summer is probably more believable than you anyway."
Sarada couldn't help but crack a smile, because she knew that was probably true. "Either way, I feel like I deserved to know you were going to tell your friends. I got so stressed this morning when I heard people in the hall talking about it."
"Well, of course, you know I'm happy to relieve any of the stress I've caused you," Boruto said with a suggestive smile. Sarada found herself growing a touch flustered when he leaned even closer and lowered his voice. "I'm free after Kendo if you want to collect."
Her cheeks flushed at the forward suggestion, but she chose to roll her eyes, feigning disinterest, before walking away.
The sun was setting, shining its warm orange glow into the school as Sarada made her way through the empty halls. Her student council duties had her staying after class much later than most students, even those who also had club activities, which was why she was so surprised to find Boruto standing by the front gates.
When his blue eyes lit up upon seeing her, it seemed to confirm her suspicion. "You waited for me?" Sarada asked, a sudden shyness made her ears grow hot.
"Yeah, is that okay?" he asked as he pushed off the wall he was leaning against and slung his school bag over his shoulder.
Sarada glanced around, the campus was virtually empty, all their peers were long gone. She supposed there was no risk in them being seen together. "Yeah, that's okay."
"Can I walk you home?" he asked, nervously scratching the back of his head. Sarada nodded and they fell in step with each other as they walked down the street.
They shared some polite chit-chat about their club activities, he asked about the student council's next big assembly and she asked him if he had any matches coming up and before she knew it, they were standing in front of her house. Sarada could still hardly believe he waited alone for at least half an hour after he was done with his club meeting just to walk her home, let alone that Boruto came all the way up to her door.
"So, uh, this is me," she said softly, but for some reason, she didn't want their conversation to end. She didn't want him to leave.
Blue eyes glanced at the door and then back to Sarada, as Boruto awkwardly shifted his weight from foot to foot. "Yeah."
"Would you…" she hesitated, biting her lip in indecision. Sarada had already told herself that time she showed up at his house on the first day of school was the last time.
But maybe…
Maybe they could do it one more time and it would be fine.
"Would you want to come in?" she finally asked as heat colored her cheeks. "...My parents aren't home."
She couldn't imagine he'd say no, she was just embarrassed to be the one to ask for it. Again. An eager smile spread across Boruto's lips as he nodded like he immediately understood her intent.
The moment the door closed behind them his lips crashed into hers in a breathtaking kiss.
Boruto let his bag clatter to the floor as he pinned her against the wall with his heated body. His tongue invaded her mouth and Sarada sighed as her hands tangled into his blonde hair, pulling him closer to deepen their kiss.
A lusty fog consumed her mind as she thought maybe this didn't have to be the last time.
