Chat Noir had leapt off rooftops, and threw in a few well-practiced barrel rolls gleefully. He knew his Lady's name! Finally, he had seen her face. All the in-discrepancies between the appearance of Ladybug and the young woman he had come face to face with he pushed out of his mind. He reasoned away any doubts in his mind that he had finally discovered Ladybug's ever-guarded identity.

He had not meant to breach her confidentiality, or violate the trust between them. It had just happened...it had just happened before he knew how to react or what to say! It was like it was just meant to be Chat Noir told himself happily.

And the best part was that he had been so close to her all this time! They were in different homeroom classes, but they had a couple classes together at the same high school. He had passed by her countless times and had never known that his Lady was right in front of him.

His heart fluttered excitedly, pounding against his chest. He tried to replay every exhilarating moment all over again from the day. Then he tried to remember each time he had briefly encountered Mireille.

He did a flip through his bedroom window, and called off his transformation saying, "Plagg, Claws Off."

Now normally Plagg would make some passive aggressive comment about being worked too hard, and just headed straight for his stash of foul smelling cheese. This time however, he flew right into Adrien's face.

"You do not seriously believe that the 'Paper Bag Princess' is really Ladybug!" Plagg screeched.

"Oh common' Plagg! There is no way you're going to try to concvince me that Mireille isn't Ladybug," Adrien rolled his eyes at his flustered kwami.

"She's not!" Plagg retorted.

"Would you actually tell me if she was?" Adrien narrowed his eyes, and crossed his arms sceptically.

"Well, no...but that is not the point here!" Plagg grumped.

"That is exactly the point! You're trying to throw me off and second guess myself because you and Tiki have been so adamant we not find out our secret identities. Well it's not like I found out on purpose, but now that I know who she is there is no way you can get me to let this one go. I'm done with the secrets. You'll see! This way I can be there for her with or without a mask!" Adrien countered.

"You are so off base here! I get that you want it to be true...to think that all your lovey dovey little fantasies finding out about Ladybug are finally coming true...but that is all this is...fantasy!" Plagg shook his head.

"She is a real person! We were bound to find each other sooner or later," Adrien clenched his hands determinedly. "Why can't you just accept that, and be happy for me!"

"This isn't the first time you thought you had everything figured out!" Plagg reminded him. "Remember how you thought Chloe was Ladybug because she had that replica costume in her locker? Or what about Marinette. You thought she was Ladybug that time we fought Kwami Buster. You were so sure then too..."

"Okay, okay...even considering Chloe could be Ladybug was a stretch...but Marinette...Well I guess I always kindda thought Marrinette would make an amazing Ladybug. She is so smart, kind, stands up for others, and always tries to help everyone...she's amazing," Adrien flopped down on the edge of his bed.

"Not to mention the fact that she sorta resembles Ladybug," Plagg said straight faced, shoving a giant wedge of Chamenbet in his mouth (He knew Tiki would string him up with a yoyo if she had heard him leading his boy so close to the truth, but Plagg wasn't sure how much more of this he could take!)

"Marinette? Noooo...I mean sure there are some basic similarities...like I guess they both have the same hair colour and are about the same height, but they are really different...Come on, Marinette actually laughs at my jokes!" Adrien poked Plagg.

Plagg let out a "huph!' and glared at his clueless weilder. "And what about the eyes genius?"

Adrien paused. The difference between the bluebell eyes of Ladybug and the golden brown of Mireille's still stood out as the most distinctive surprise. Wondering about this, it almost made Adrien start to wonder if they really could be the same person. Then he remembered something from when Ladybug had transformed into Lady Noir. Ladybug's eyes had looked green when using Plagg to transform.

"Hey Plagg, Tiki's eyes are blue aren't they?" Adrien asked casually.

"More blue than the rarest blue cheese," Plagg mused, then crossed his tiny arms, "why?"

"Well, if Tiki has blue eyes, maybe that is why Mireille's eyes look blue when she's transformed!" Adrien concluded triumphantly.

"You're really determined to stick to this aren't you kid!" Plagg rolled his eyes. "Just don't come mopping around me when it all blows up in your face!"

Adrien flopped back against his pillow with a sigh. It just made sense, he reassured himself. Mireille had never been akumatized, and he had never noticed her around at the same time as Ladybug.

Now that he knew who Ladybug was things would never be the same again!
