The two began to solve more than a few puzzles that would have been impossible without teamwork. Before long, they both entered into the palace that belonged to Hades who is the lord of the Underworld. In some kind of a dark cavern, this dark voice belonging to Hades spoke out all around: "Welcome, Spartan. Come in. Make yourself at home. This time, you won't be leaving. Now it falls to me to collect payment for the pain you have wrought. Kratos...so glad you could carve out some time for us. You know we need it. I sense some bad blood between us, Kratos. Oh, all the memories. They're overwhelming. Really, let's see… How many sins have you committed against me? Oh, that's right. You murdered my niece Athena. And what else? What else? Ah, and you killed my brother Poseidon. And I have not forgotten that it was you who butchered my beautiful queen! I will see you suffer as I have suffered. Your soul is mine." He almost succeeded to taking away Kratos's soul by using the Claws of Hades as Hades's primary weapon. But he had to pull back when he could sense great power from the Yamato that Cecelia wields in her hand and forced himself to let go of Kratos. Hades said as soon as he has his eyes set on Cecelia: "You're not from Greece. Yet, your powers are as strong as my brother Zeus if not stronger. A new soul for me to take, perhaps?" Cecelia puts away the Yamato and unsheathes the two swords that are tied behind her back as she spoke: "Let's just say that I'm a traveler far from Greece." She then looked at the heads from the end of the sword handles: "Agni? Rudra? Let's show the lord of the Underworld from Greece of what we can do as a team." This surprised both Hades and Kratos as one the two swords spoke from left to right:
Agni: "We shall help you."
Rudra: "As you wish for us to do."
Right at that moment, Cecelia dodged a swing from Hades when using his weapon called the Claws of Hades. That's when the claws hit the ground and she starts to run on top of the chains like a ninja. The next thing that happened is that she propelled herself upwards like a double spinning blade of fire and wind before executing a X strike on his face. Flying up when bringing out her dragon wings, she then spun down and around in a spiral to leave behind multiple cuts that burst of fire and wind damages all over his body. Hades tried to use the claws of his own weapon to steal Kratos's soul, but he was thrown back when Cecelia executed a whirlwind of fire and wind in combination to break away the strong hold. Her attacks are strong and continuous until Hades is down after about ten seconds in. She called out as she landed on her feet: "Kratos! It's your turn now!" Wielding the Blades of Exile in hand, Kratos viciously attack Hades from the head until more than chunks of his body are cut off Hades starts to pull in Kratos as they're both on the opposite ends from the chains of their weapons tightly intertwined. If Kratos is pulled into the River Styx, he's not going to live. He will be tortured to absolutely no end at all, but Cecelia will make sure that it will not happen. Putting away Agni and Rudra back in the respective place by being strapped on her back, she unsheathes the Yamato again and said this as she marks her attack: "Judgment Cut!" Many cuts were executed and left behind bursts of brightly light purple lightning and purple flames to burst as it untangled the pink in the middle. Unfortunately for her, she didn't have the right time to land on her feet and accidentally fell on top of Kratos. He landed on his back and she was on top in a unintentional straddle on his lap as he looked up. He could see her yes up close for the first time to see that her eyes are indeed like the purest of waters. She's quick to push aside that awkward moment as she got off of him and came up with an idea. Letting out her dragon wings again, she flew in forward and around as she cleverly use the chains from both the Blades of Exile and the Claws of Hades to form like a noose around his neck. Kratos sees what she did and he grabbed onto the chains as soon as Cecelia quickly handed one end to him. This is when he repeatedly slam Hades's head into the ceiling and knocking him into the River Styx. It looked as if he's been killed as Kratos obtained the Claws of Hades in his hold.
Just when it looked like they can now leave the castle, this victory was short-lived. That's when a significantly bigger Hades bursts out of the river using the soul to maintain himself. He no longer sports his helmet of which revealed a deformed, devilish, cracked skull. Hades was just about to slam his hand down, but Cecelia countered the attack by using the ability to stop time with her magic. Knowing that it would only last for a moment, she channeled her magic into the Yamato once again and this is when white lightning is surged into the blade. She said this as she strikes it across in front of her: "Dragon Strike!" By the time Hades can move again, it was already too late for him to avoid the pillars of white lightning that came in four with the final strike in a form of a powerful dragon. This weakened and damaged Hades as Cecelia puts the sword back in its scabbard. Kratos took this as his moment to attack as he used the Claws of Hades to rip out the soul from the lord of the Underworld himself. As Hades' rule of the Underworld is now being lifted, Cecelia silently realized something. By possessing the soul of Hades, this allowed Kratos to transverse through the River Styx unharmed. As a result of Hades' death, the souls of the dead that reside in the Underworld were able to roam freely with many escaping the Underworld itself. The journey continues for the both of them.
