Part 4

It had become time to get the police involved. The worst part about involving the police was the requirement of a warrant. Aizawa knew how to get through the process quickly, and with All Might's connections they had managed to get it within a few hours.

They were now half a mile away from the League's hideout. Ectoplasm had cloned himself. Hiding all around the perimeter. Snipe was setting himself up in a ready sniping position with Best Jeansist on standby. Best Jeansist held the radio, regularly talking to and providing orders for the police. Having a hero with such a high rank was helpful in many regards.

He felt a hand squeeze his shoulder. He turned his head from the military laboratory to see Mic."You ready?"

It was sweet how much Mic always checked in with him. He made his comforts so subtle. Many would assume the extroverted blonde would never notice such fine details. Aizawa knew better. He knew Mic, and Mic knew him.

"I'm ready," Aizawa said. He grabbed Mic's hand and gave it a squeeze before removing it from his shoulder. That touch would be enough until this was over. Aizawa was focused. He needed to get his student back.

There were a set of cellar doors hidden on the far sides of the house. Aizawa, Mic, Fat Gum, and Tamaki were going to enter around from the cellar. The goal was to then make it to Tokoyami, and get out. The less combat there would be, the better.

Hound Dog gave the signal, and Mirio nodded. Aizawa watched as the new hero phased through the shrubbery. He couldn't watch for long. It was time.

Aizawa pulled his goggles down, grabbed his scarf and started to sprint in the opposite direction. He was going first, in case there was true danger around the corner. He could stop it. He could hold off a dangerous quirk for a few moments.

If he made it to the cellar doors first, the others would follow. He ran close to the ground, making note of every rock and large patch of grass as he made his way to the cellar doors. The handles stood out about the long strands of grass. He was now only a few meters from it.

Something moved on the other side of the handles. Aizawa didn't hesitate. He threw his capture scarf in front of him. As the scarf split the air. It flew over the handles of the cellar. A lack creature with a large beak and exposed cranial left out of the way for the scarf; a nomu. Aizawa readied himself as the creature charged at him. It had the remains of a white shirt and tan pants clinging to its body. Whoever All For One had transformed, was no longer human.

The nomu got down on all fours and charged at Aizawa with lightning speed. Aizawa glared, activating his quirk and levitating his hair in the process. The creature didn't slow down. He looked to his surroundings for something that he could put his scarf onto. A single tree stood not so far away and the erasure hero lashed it's trunk and projected himself at it, just missing a swipe from the nomu by just a few centimeters. The miss did not sway the creature from continuing it's change. And it quickly turned around to continue it's rampage at Aizawa.

A long tentacle wrapped around the nomu's waist and tossed it backwards. Tamaki Stood not too far away. He had anchored himself to the ground using talon feet. He shifted his weight and threw the Nomu in the opposite direction. The Nomu flew towards the ground and then bounced off a large fat belly. Fat Gum turned towards the group on the mountaintop. "First catch of the day!"

The creature was then caught by flying fabric connected to the beast's pants. Best Jeansist manipulated the fibers and yelled, "We got this! Get in there!"

Someone was pulling Aizawa by the arm towards the cellar. It was MIc. He had a death grip on Aizawa's bicep. As they moved forward. Fat Gum reached the cellar before the pair, closely followed by Tamaki.

Fat Gum grabbed the cellar door. "Get ready! I doubt that's our only encounter. He's simply the first course."

"We need to get to Mirio," Tamaki said.

"Hopefully Mirio can hold off whoever is with Tokoyami," Aizawa said. Everyone nodded as Fat Gum grabbed the cellar door, and opened it.

Mirio moved quietly as he followed Hound Dog around the back of the building. They had to be stealthy. He was potentially the only one who could get to Tokoyami.

Hound Dog pointed to a spot on the wall where a crack had started to creep up. Mirio didn't hesitate. He bent down, put his hands against the wall, and stuck his face through. He couldn't see until he got to the other side, but once he did get the other side he froze.

Tokoyami was standing in the only active tank at the moment. A giant suspending flood light hung from the ceiling and pointed at the teen. Tokoyami's hands were black up to his wrists. Mirio couldn't tell from the angle if Tokoyami had anything on his feet or if they had been blackened as well. He certainly looked beaten. There was a notable crack along the top of Tokoyami's beak starting at where the tip was removed. The room was quiet. Mirio knew he needed to act fast. He pulled his head out and turned to Hound Dog. "I'm going in."

"Take this," Hound Dog said, handing him a small device. " If you need back up, press this and we will blow the wall."

Mirio nodded, then dove in through the wall. As soon as he entered the space he checked the surroundings. Something had changed in the air. He hid himself behind a large tube, pretending to float in it as a large Nomu walked by. It sniffed the air then turned to Tokoyami.

Tokoyami's hand was press against the glass. The Nomu glared at Tokoyami. It rushed up to the glass and roared. Tokoyami's arm fell.

"He's still fighting," thought Mirio. "Tokoyami can help get out."

When the Nomu turned away and began walking around the edge of the room, Mirio phased through his spot. He approached Tokoyami from the side and gently tapped on the class.

Tokoyami's eye shot open. It was not but a bright, glowing yellow lighting the shape of the eye. Mirio waved to Tokoyami. The bright glowing light grew wider, responding to Mirio.

"Good. Now let's see if he can help me get him out." Mirio walked to a control panel beside the tube. "Which button would it be?"

Screech!

Mirio turned around to see the Nomu that had just passed. The one was very top heaven. It had a beak that covered up half of it's head. It's large brain was exposed on the top. It towered, standing larger than the tube that held Tokoyami. It wore jeans that barely contained its massive thighs. The creature's torso and shoulders more than doubled Mirio's width.

"Here we go," Mirio said, turning to face the creature.

The nomu yelled and then charged. It was so fast! Mirio barely had time to phase into the floor. He sunk into the floor, then solidified his feet to spring himself towards the surface.

As he popped out he saw the nomu catch itself on Tokoyami. It turned around and screeched. Two other other nomus appeared from other parts of the room. A very skinny, blue, long torsoed nomu peered over the nonoperating tubes. The third charged in on all fours from behind Mirio. Mirio phased himself as the quadruped lashed out at him. This nomu had claws and extra long teeth. The rest of its head, including where eyes should be, was brain. It was as if this was once a man and an animal.

Mirio hadn't been thinking about all of his surroundings. Once the feral nomu had crawled through him he solidified in time to be smacked a long, rubbery hand. Mirio flew into the wall. He looked in the direction of the hand to see the blue nomu had managed to attack from far.

"Get the distance fighters first," Mirio said in his head. As Mirio slid down the wall,he phased into the floor. He then propelled himself through the floor towards the blue nomu. "Phantom menace!" Mirio yelled as he resurfaced.

The blue nomu received the first blow directly below it's jaw. It's head snapped back. Its arms lashed at Mirio, but the hero permeated and fell below the floor. Half a second passed before Mirio reamerged behind the blue nomu. This time he slammed his elbow into the nomu's back. The nomu fell forward. Mirio phased through the nomu and back into the ground before the nomu caught it's balance.

The nomu spun in curls. Both arms now long and rubbery. It began flailing its limbs around without care. It smacked the flood light suspended in front of Tokoyami. Mirio dodged every hand. Guiding the rubbery arms to more chaos. After well over a dozen passes, the blue nomu was wrapped in his own hands. Mirio hit the nomu in the knees and it fell to the ground. Mirio took the opportunity. He entered the wall of the building and lined up with the nomu's head. He projected himself for, elbow leading as he crashed into the exposed cranium. The nomu cried up, body twitinging, and then fell limp.

Mirio was now panting. That was so much work for one nomu. He had two others to face now. The quadaped was charging at Mirio now. The other stood guard in front of Tokoyami and let out a terrible screech. The one charging Mirio paused. There was a moment of pure silence. Mirio took the moment to catch his breath. Something was happening, and he needed to be prepared.

Opposite of the room where Mirio had been fighting, a wood door began to jiggle. The boards cracked, finally splintering and flying through the space. A large black hand ripped any remaining pieces down. Another nomu with six eyes had entered the room.

Mirio reached for the marker Hound Dog had handed him. He pressed the button. "I'm going to need back up."

CRACK!

Mirio turned towards the sound. It came from Tokoyami's tank. At some point in this disturbance, Tokoyami had reached into his back and pulled out the top of several large needles with his left hand. A black and purple flame-like form leaked from the spot. He had taken that needle and smashed it against glass. There was a small crack. Tokoyami had pulled his arm back to swing again.

Crack!

The crack grew larger. The nomus moved towards Tokoyami. The one directly in front of Tokoymai screeched. This didn't phase Tokoyami. With his right hand he reached for another needle. Mirio watched him pull. More of the purple and black stuff leaked from his back. Tokoyami tossed the needle and dropped it in the tank. Mirio saw the needle slowly sink to the bottom. It wasn't hard to miss the ten centimeter metal point. Tokoyami pulled the remaining three needs out. The other nomu's had forgotten about Mirio. They were all forming around the tank and shouting more. Tokoyami took a needle in both hands. With his left hand he swung and hit the glass one more time.

Screet!

Tokoyami's blackened hand broke through the glass. Green liquid began pouring from the hole. All the nomu scrambled in place.

Mirio couldn't watch any longer. Tokoyami was about to be ambushed by three nomu alone after breaking himself out of his case. He permeated into the floor and shot up right under the quadruped. The four legged nomu flew towards the door. Miro then turned his body from the waist down. He whipped his legs and kicked the newest nomu with six eyes.

The six eyed nomu's neck cracked. But it turned and began moving towards Mirio. It raised a hand and opened its mouth to reveal a long whip like tong. The quaroped began to move towards Mirio. Long claws clashed against the ground. Mirio sank into the ground as both nomus attacked. He reappeared further back, and was shocked at what he could now see.

Simultaneously, a long tentacle and white scarf flew into the air. The tentacle wrapped itself around the six eyed nomu's neck while the scarf grabbed ahold of the quadroped's front leg. Both creatures flew in opposite directions as Aizawa and Tamaki emerged from the doorway.

Everyone's attention turned to the fondness of trickling glass. Tokoyami had stuck his hand through the whole he had made. The glass scraped against the skin on his arm. He was bleeding, but it wasn't just blood leaking from the cuts. Purple and black smoke flickered from the wounds. They formed into a larger, shadowy hand the size of a baseball mitt. The shadowy hand latched onto the guarding nomu's cranium and sank in it's claws. The nomu screamed. It whipped its arms back and forth trying desperately to remove the grip Tokoyami had on it.

"Mic!" Aizawa called and pointed towards Tokoyami.

Aizawa didn't need to say anymore. Back in the doorway, and followed by fatgum, Mic entered the stepped up, took in a deep breath, and yelled. "YEAH!"

The intense sound causes the nomu to tremble. The whole room shoo as teh yell bounced about the space. The glass tube began to crack and finally shattered. Though Shards were flying into his, Tokoyami remained unnerved. Cuts on his right hand released more shadow flams and his right hand was now adding to the grip of the nomu's neck. Tokoyami tightened his grip around the nomu with more pressure. With a final scream, the nomu's brain popped like a bad zit and the body lay limp.

As the group turned to the remaining nomu, dark swirling mist filled the nomu's heads and quickly engulfed the two. They were then swallowed by the mist.

"Where did they go?" Fat Gum yelled.

"It is a shame that such a strong power has such a strong weakness." The cool voice of All for One filled the room. In the furthest corner, All for One emerged from a smoky mist. "This is why I only take on the quirks that can be used consecutively."

Tokoyami turned towards All for One. The black and purple mist intensified around his body. "You did this to us! You did this to Fumikage!"

Aizawa's eyes widened at his student. A chilling realization came over him. That voice was not the voice that belonged to his student. That dry, crackly voice belonged to his student's quirk, Dark Shadow.

"Dark Shadow," Aizawa whispered.

All For One laughed. "I admire your spirit, quirk. However, that doesn't help you or your host. You are too much trouble. I will not waste more resources on you, especially if you continue to disobey me. I'm tired, and so is my team. You are not worth the loss of more Nomu. We will be leaving the country for a while."

Dark Shadow yelled and started to charge at all for one. "You don't get to escape!"

"I do," said All for One as the mist consumed him. "You and your rescuers aren't so lucky." Before the villain was completely gone, and electrical current went through his hand towards the lights. As he disappeared completely, the lights began to shatter, and the room started to plummet into darkness.

Dark Shadow yelled again, and the black and purple misists grew.

"We need light!" Aizawa yelled and the room plummeted into darkness.

Chaos and panic filled the room. The sound of glass breaking all around. A roar came from Dark Shadow's direction. Shards of glass flew at the blinded heroes.

"Gonna have to do it the hard way," Fat Gum called. He stumbled backwards until he came in contact with a wall.

"Mirio!" Mic called. "Get on the outside and get the others to help."

"Yes, sir!" Mirio permeated himself into the ground then sprung forward until he was on the outside of the structure.

Aizawa heard a thud. "Heads!" He knew where Mic was. He grabbed onto his partner's jacket and pulled him down, arm protectively covering the blonde's head. Something bounced before landing against their backs.

"Eraser, you good?" Mic called.

"I'm fine. You?" Aizawa replied.

"Yeah. I think you got me out of the way of whatever just hit us," said Mic.

"You okay, Suneater?" Fat Gum yelled.

There were the sounds of some sort of muffled voice. A popping noice and deep gasp of breath. "Thank you Fat Gum. You are too caring."

"I'll keep you in these folds as long as I can keep you safe," Fat Gum replied.

Another roar came from Dark Shadow.

"We still need light," Aizawa yelled.

"Tokoyami, man, relax!" Mic called. "It's your teachers."

"That's not Tokoyami, Mic. That's Dark Shadow."

"Looks like we are doing some renovation!" Fat Gum said. He threw his whole weight into the wall. The whole structure shook.

"Do it again!" Aizawa yelled.

"Working on it!" Fat Gum backed up and rammed himself in the wall again. He pulled back for a running start and blindly kept into the wall.

Light poured into the room like rain during monsoon season. MOst of the non working tubes were shattered. Glass decorated every part of the floor. Aizaw Aizawa turned towards Dark Shadow. Massive flames of darkness dwindled into a light layer on top of Tokoyami's skin. Though it had shanked, Dark Shadow had not disappeared. Aizawa activated his quirk. His hair floated up and his eyes glowed.

The mist on Tokoyami's skin disappeared instantly. The yellow that filled Tokoyami's eyes stopped glowing. Tokoyami's eyes returned to their red irises. He seemed shocked. As if he had just been woken from a deep sleep. The look of bewilderment didn't last long. Tokoyami's legs gave out and he screamed in pain as he collided with the ground.

"Tokoyami!"

Both Aizawa and Present Mic sprinted past the debris. They each kneeled beside the student. Tokoyami had his eyes open in disbelief. They were leaking with tears as they lay on the ground.

Aizawa placed a gentle hand on the teens head. "Tokoyami, talk to me. Where does it hurt?"

"Aizawa sensei?" Tokoyami's voice was a ghost of itself.

"Yes, Tokoyami, it's me," Aizawa said.

"Am I dead?" Tokoyami asked.
