Once arriving back at the house Collie comes running over as Alexis gets off the sleigh having been laying beside the injured dog to make sure he stays warm.
"Ah Collie. How's my other girl? Well we're glad to see you too. come on girls. We got us some company for a while." Weedon Scott says as collie greets him before he picks up the injured dog and walks toward the house.
"Hey! You're not thinking of taking that thing inside the house are you?" Collie asks as she runs over to the door with Alexis.
"He is and it's a wolf not a thing." Alexis says as Weedon Scott opens the door.
"I know very well what it is. You're a wolf too." Collie says as she and Alexis follow Weedon Scott inside.
"Come on Collie. Out of the way. I gotta find a place to lay him down. Ah. Over there." Weedon Scott says as he lays the dog down on Collie's bed.
"Whoa! What are you doing? Not in my bed." Collie says as she and Alexis go over.
"He's in pretty bad shape. He's gonna need our help." Weedon Scott says as he looks at the dog.
"Looks dead if you ask me." Collie says.
"Not dead but not fully alive and kicking either. He got hurt pretty bad." Alexis says as she looks at the dog concerned.
"Watch him girls while i fetch some bandages and medicine." Weedon Scott says as he gets up and walks off.
"You're really gonna lay beside that thing?" Collie asks as Alexis nods while laying beside the dog.
"Yes. I'm not worried." Alexis says bluntly as Collie sniffs the dog.
"Ugh! He stinks!" Collie says as she growls slightly.
"We're not getting jealous are we?" Weedon Scott asks as he looks over at Collie.
"Me? Jealous of mister stink bomb over here? Please don't insult my good breeding. I'm merely curious." Collie says innocently.
"Curious isn't the word I'd call it." Alexis says as Collie looks at her.
"Says the wolf who's being all cuddly with him." Collie says.
"I am not being cuddly. I'm just watching over him." Alexis says.
"Apparently." Collie says as Weedon Scott comes over.
"Alright Collie. I can see you're not going to be very much help. Maybe it would be better if you watch from over here. You too Alexis. Come. Now stay here you two. Just for a bit. You three will have plenty of time to get acquainted later." Weedon Scott says as he brings Alexis and Collie over to a corner away from him and the dog.
"That's exactly what I'm worried about." Collie says as she and Alexis lay down.
*Timeskip*
"Oh my head. Where am I?" The dog asks as Alexis notices he is awake and looks at him.
"In my human's cabin." Alexis says as she sits in front of the dog.
"What happened?" The dog asks as Collie walks over.
"You were in some kind of a fight according to my friend here." Collie says.
"Oh yeah. Now I remember." The dog says as Alexis and Collie walk away while Weedon Scott goes over as the dog begins to growl at him. The dog then gets loose from his rope and tries to attack Weedon Scott only for Alexis and Collie to jump between them.
"Back off buster." Collie says aggressively.
"Attacking him wouldn't be your best decision. Step away from our human!" Alexis says as she growls before the dog sniffs at her and Collie.
"Huh? You're both girls." The dog says.
"You noticed." Collie says.
"I-I can't fight girls. It wouldn't be right." The dog says.
"Oh please. Afraid you're gonna loose to one of us?" Collie asks.
"What's he to you two anyway?" The dog asks as he gives an annoyed look.
"That would be our business. All you need to know is he saved your life. Take it from a fellow wolf. He isn't a bad person. He's only trying to help you get well." Alexis says.
"Bad person or not I don't need his help. Surprised that a wolf even would trust a human. You do look familiar though." The dog says as he looks at Alexis curiously.
"Same to you but at least I can when to trust someone who's trying to help me. But if you don't want the help the door's over there. Just go if you don't want the help and leave us be." Alexis says as she looks toward the door.
"Uh I seem to be a little weak right now." The dog says as he backs away and lays on Collie's bed.
"Easy girls. Maybe he's hungry. Ah. The stick. Of course. Okay I'm sorry boy. No more stick." Weedon Scott says as the dog growls at him as he puts some meat on a stick down in the floor before the dog goes over to the door.
"Alright boy. If you want to leave I'll open the door for you. You're free to go." Weedon Scott says as he opens the door before the dog goes over and eats the meat.
"Well now I know where the phrase wolfing down your food comes from." Alexis says.
"Huh?" The dog asks.
"Nevermind." Alexis says as the dog looks outside them back inside.
"You truly are stubborn aren't you?" Alexis asks in annoyance.
"What do you mean?" The dog asks.
"I mean you could show a little kindness. All my human has done is tried to help you and you turn around and try to bite him. I don't know why you look so familiar but one thing is obvious is that you've been so badly mistreated that it's filled you with hate towards humans. My life wasn't easy at first either but I certainly don't act like that." Alexis says in annoyance.
"How would you know? You don't know a thing about me." The dog says.
"I know that you're afraid to trust anyone for anything out of past experiences. Take it from me. Someone who is a wolf like you and started out badly like you clearly have and take a second look. I didn't trust him at first either but he's proven me wrong. Not all humans are bad." Alexis says.
"What's your name?" The dog asks.
"My friend over there is Collie and my name is Alexis." Alexis says as she gestures to Collie.
"Alexis? Alexis is that really you? So this is where you've been since that day?" The dog asks as Alexis wags her tail.
"White Fang?" Alexis asks happily.
"I can't believe it's you. I'm so happy to see you." White Fang says as Alexis smiles.
"I'm happy to see you too. Not so happy about the biting and attacking." Alexis says in annoyance.
"Sorry but look Alexis I am grateful for what you, Collie, and your human are trying to do. I just can't stay here. I don't belong here. You seem very happy here and I think you do belong here but not me." White Fang says.
"But White Fang you're injured. I don't want you to get hurt. I done lost you once." Alexis says sadly.
"Believe me Alexis I do want to be around you but you don't want me here." White Fang says.
"Where will you even go?" Alexis asks concernedly.
"Up into the mountains I guess." White Fang says.
"Will... Will I ever see you again?" Alexis asks.
"I don't know. I do hope our paths cross again. I loved being around you and talking to you. Maybe again.. Someday." White Fang says as he leaves as Alexis watches sadly.
