Disclaimer: Digimon is not mine and I can't believe I'm still hooked on this 20 year old show.

Guardian angel
Sora was stirring her bowl of soup nonchalantly, she had no idea for how long she had been doing so, but she could bet the soup would no longer be hot. It did not matter, not really, considering she was not even hungry to begin with. Yet she knew she had to do it, she had to keep functioning as a human being was supposed to do so.
"Is this seat empty?" a soft voice broke her inner thoughts, she dropped the spoon as soon as she saw Mimi's slim figure standing in front of her, wearing her purple pajamas.
"You're walking!" It had been over a week since Yamato and Taichi had defeated Menoa, therefore a week since Mimi, and the rest of the people who had been induced into a coma, had woken up. To Sora it was insane to think someone could be able to do that, to extract a person's conscience and send it into the digital world.
To those who had been in a coma for a few hours, the after effect had not been bad, it had just caused extreme exhaustion. But to those amongst the first ones to faint, such as Mimi, the effects had been worse, like the inability to walk. Of course, Mimi's parents felt safer if she did not leave the hospital until it was absolutely safe, and the brunette was okay with it, considering she was never on her on for too long. Joe was in charge of keeping an eye of her, and her friends, all of them, had visited at least once.
But Sora, she had been at the hospital on a daily basis, most times she would even sleep in, just like a guardian angel would.
"It feels funny, I'm not going to lie," she took a sit in front of the redhead, who simply pushed her soup aside, which had only served as a simple distraction. "But I do feel so much better."
The elephant on the room was obvious, in the span of two days, Sora, Yamato and Taichi had all lost their Digital partners, their soulmates, their best friends. When Mimi had found out about it, as soon as she woke up and Jou caught her up on all she had missed, she felt a part of her soul breaking, and could not stop crying when she saw Palmon, good and alive. No one really knew why the famous trio had been the only ones to lose them, or the only ones so far, but the rest had only grown terrified of what could suddenly happen to everyone else.
Mimi held Sora's hand when she noticed the redhead was holding her Digivice, their original one. As they had grown older, it had become a habit for them to carry it everywhere, it felt like a piece of home.
"I don't think I will ever stop carrying it, you know?" Sora's voice was a mere whisper, Mimi knew she was confiding in her thoughts she had not planned to leave her mind. "It will always remind me of her."
"You don't have to do it, it's also a piece of who you are."
"We are lucky, after all. To have been at that exact place, at that exact time, on August first," Sora's smile was nostalgic, Mimi turned her grip steadier.
"We became the luckiest kids in the entire world, because we didn't have to go through what we did on our own."
"Please never leave me…" Mimi embraced Sora, and they both broke into tears, tears which desperately needed to be freed.
Notes
And yet another lost scene, this time on my favorite girlies. I just love them so freaking much.
