Number 4, now starting. I swear, this is going much faster than anticipated.
None the less, I hope you all read my stuff and enjoy it, and will tell me if you'd prefer me to do anything differently, as I aim to please.
None the less, we now approach a pressing moment in my tale of the quirk filled world.
A mysterious and dangerous stranger has appeared, but what will they do, and what will the students do in response?
What is happening with Malek, and why does it seem like these mysterious villains are after him?
If I gave you all the answers at once, well, this wouldn't be entertaining, now would it?
In any case, please leave a review of my work as I want to know how many people are actually reading this stuff, and those without profiles? Yes, you can as well.
In any case, I'll tell you all something. There is one quite popular song by Creedence Clearwater Revival, which mentions a kind of vine.
But I can't use it here because it goes against my policy. NO GRAPES!
Let's get back to it...
Chapter 4: Preparations for the Arena
(Location: Unknown)
We once again are in the dark room, with the table seen before, the silhouettes around.
However, there was some new figures, these illuminated by the light of the roof lamp. Both had a purplish theme to their clothing, seeming like almost mirror images except for very small details, having purple hoods and sashes of the same colour here and there, the rest black. The most notable difference between the two was that one had a sort of purple face mask, covering their mouth, and the other wore black gloves, tugging on one slightly.
The one with gloves spoke, a clear American accent "So who we bringing to you this time "B"? Some poor girl who doesn't know her true power?" she queried, a sense of boredom clear.
The white gloves once again appeared, one reaching out "Not quite. Brother, the files" the Russian voice asked, as the thin hands threw a pair of brown envelopes over.
The gloved woman picked them up and opened them "I see, but why are they targets but unpowered?" she asked in curiosity. The other just looked them over, analysing them thoroughly.
"They both have links to our target, one is seen by him often, the other appears to be close to him. This means that we have two possible tools instead of one" the Russian replied eloquently.
The one with gloves smirked as the other nodded "So you've cornered him, finally. I get it now."
The white gloves crossed their fingers "Yes, we have. Any further questions?"
"Only when do we start?" the gloved one asked.
"Effective immediately...Degasi Sisters" the Russian replied as the two walked into the darkness.
(Malek's room)
The students looked at the petrifying being before them, some activating their quirks, others (Mineta) moving behind the fighters.
The thing stood still, though, gazing over at them "Forget what you have seen...while you can" its voice hissed.
"Not happening, Jackass!" Bakugo commenting, smirking at his as he swung his arm towards the enemy, blast ready "TAKE THIS!"
The figure took a deep breath and shouted, his cry shaking the room, echoing and emanating through each of them, like it pierced their minds. Bakugo was knocked back by its shear force.
Todoroki stepped forward, sending a line of ice towards the intruder. They, in turn, countered it with an intense fireball, shocking them, and getting Deku's mind to work. "How can he have a sonic quirk and a fire quirk? Is he a new kind of Nomu?" he pondered as the group were forced back, leaving Deku with little choice.
"Detroit...SMASH!" he shouted as he shot forward, sending his foot into the intruders gut. He was unmoved, but leaned over, coughing blood "I see...impressive" they hissed.
"We aren't budging!" Kirishima decreed as the rest got into fighting stances.
"Very well" they said as they let out a piercing shreak, knocking the others to the ground and stunning them. Next they looked, the stranger was gone, leaving his damage and destruction to them.
"What the hell was that?" Mineta asked.
"I don't know, but I can only think of one thing now" Deku replied.
"All For One" Bakugo added, Deku nodding.
"That couldn't have been him though" Todoroki disagreed "he's locked up in Tartarus."
Deku began thinking again, until he made a choice. "Let's sleep tonight, and sort this out tomorrow" he decided, the others nodding and eventually splitting off to go to their rooms.
(Next morning)
The students eventually woke up and reported the incident, trying their best to relax into the morning.
After some time, the group were settled down while Malek's room was cleaned.
Malek eventually returned and went up "What The Hell Happened To My Room!?" he shouted, the others groaning in unison.
He stormed down and looked them over, now looking puzzled "What killed all of you overnight?" he queried.
"Some guy who caught us in your room" Kirishima answered, massaging the sides of his head.
"What did he have? A deafening quirk?" Malek asked.
"Yeah, that was one of them" Kaminari added, fluffy earmuffs over his ears.
"He had multiple quirks?" he stressed "How?"
Deku slowly rose "We don't know, but All for One is involved."
"Jesus!" Malek stated, sitting down.
"And we also know why your so unfriendly" Uraraka added.
"Then you hacked my computer" he groaned, leaning back "so you know why I won't be nice?"
"Yeah" Sero replied "But that won't stop us" Tokoyami added.
"I'm sorry? What?" Malek stated "Don't you see you're in grave danger if you do this?!"
Bakugo walked over, glaring "We're always in danger, you idiot" he punched his shoulder lightly "Stop being a pity party and open up."
For a moment, Malek was silent as the grave, until he started chuckling. The others looked over, only to see him raise his head, laughing with tears in his eyes "I suppose I'll have to het used to it, having people who care" he chuckled, wiping his tears away.
Eventually, the group got dressed and went to homeroom, where Aizawa was surprised by the now cheerful monstrous fighter. He then looked over the others and returned to normal "Today, you will need to select our class representative for the upcoming tournament" he sighed.
"Mister Aizawa? How many students will actually be fighting?" Kaminari asked.
"There will be one student from each class in UA, plus representatives from some other schools" he replied "these others will be representing their whole schools, so choose carefully."
"I think we should choose Malek" Deku state, making the aforementioned person almost fall over. "W-what? Why?" he asked with a stutter. Iida and Momo took it from there.
"We have all had our moments to shine in the sports festival, so it's time for you to show yourself" Iida stated.
"Plus you seem to enjoy strong opponents, so think on it" Momo added.
As he did just that, more of the others agreed with the class rep and vice rep. "It seems our choice is clear" Aizawa pointed at Malek "Are you ready to show what class 1A can do, Mr Pyro?"
Malek slowly stood up, looked at his hand and clenched it "I'll show all of Japan and the rest of the world just what I can do!" he declared, the others looking at him with determined eyes.
As the day continued, Malek's cheerfulness seemed to remain, becoming more active in class, and more supportive in training, seeming like he was once again a new man.
In the evening, the students were all relaxed, simply watching TV or chatting with friends or anything else they wanted, until a knock came on the door, getting the others attention.
"That can't be the pizza guy, its way too soon" Kirishima stated "Hey, who's there?" he called over.
"Hey, its me, Christina, can I come in?" the Caribbean girl asked from the other side.
Malek choked, waving his arms and shaking his head, nervous, but Mineta was already looking her over with his perverted eyes "Greetings, madam, what brings you here?"
"Uhh, hi, I'm looking for Malek" she ignored his gaze and smiled as she waved.
Mineta deadpanned and death stared Malek, who sighed "I'm here, come in" he stated, sounding calm as possible.
She pushed passed him and walked over to him "So I think we need to talk about, you know, uhhmmmm, what happened" she stated, Malek's nerves being replaced with disappointment.
"I'm sorry, but I'd prefer if you didn't know" he sighed.
"Oh...I didn't know it was like that, I'm sorry I asked" she sat next to him, a bit disappointed, but she masked it.
He quickly shook his head "No, no, it's not like that, its just..." he looked to the others, many of them nodding, so he sighed "go to my room, there's a laptop in there. Read the file on it."
"I don't know where your room is" she blushed as she tucked some hair away behind her ear.
"Up the stairs to the third floor, on the right. The doors open, ignore the damage."
Sighs as she got up, following his directions "Surprisingly, not the first time I've heard that."
"Odd, but please, take your time to process" he called up and let her find it.
(Christina's POV)
I eventually found his room and took in the damage that met me, walking hesitantly to the computer that was layed there, screen down, on the table. The machine felt ominous, like it was cursed. I picked it up whilst going to sit on his bed, opening it up. The machine powered on and displayed the file in tabs. I opened the file and read it, my heart hung low in my chest. Most of it made sense now. I did the only thing I could think about, running straight back downstairs and hugging him hard.
(Normal dialogue)
Malek stuttered at her action, coughing and blushing "W-what the...?!"
She sniffled softly, holding onto him and not letting go "I-I had no idea" she whimpered, tears rolling.
His had nervously rested on her shoulder "Th-that was why I didn't say" he stuttered.
She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it again as she squeezed him.
Kirishima chuckled and some of the girls looked overjoyed, while Mineta stared daggers at Malek "c-could you please...let go?" he requested, still nervous.
"I-I don't know if I can, Malek" she chuckled, but it soon changed into a sniffle "please."
"O-Ok" he shuddered as he rubbed her shoulder, earning a stronger death stare from the pervert.
She finally let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and let go of him "Thank you for telling me."
He smiled "It's the least I could do...literally, and its all your getting for now"
Christina chuckled as she faked shock "wait, there's more? Oh my!"
He chuckled as well "Yes, but I'm keeping the rest to myself, for your sakes" he spoke to the group.
She pouted at him, giving pleading eyes "not even me?" Many of the others chuckled, but Malek was serious "Especially not you, and you can't offer anything to change my mind."
She sighed in defeat, but then cuddled her way into his lap "You sure nothing can change your mind?"
His blush grew "Y-yeah, and you shouldn't do that...w-we're in public, you know?"
The others were either glued to it, or looking away, blushing. She wrapped her legs around his waist and chuckled "Hey, I'm just trying to find out more about you...any way I can."
As her face approached and his nerves peaked, there was a knock at the door "Hey, urgent mail delivery to a mister Katsuki Bakugo and a miss Christina Adams..."
She blushed and got off of Malek "Talk about timing...I'm Christina Adams."
Malek sighed in relief, but Bakugo already opened the door, staring the delivery man down "Mail...Now!"
The man nervously handed over two letters, and Bakugo slammed the door in his face, chucking hers over.
"Hey, why are you so rude?" she sighed as she opened hers.
"What do they say?" Kaminari queried, being met with the hateful eyes of the exploding child.
"It says...
My dearest Christina
You don't know me, but I know you, and I'm dying to be more aquainted with you. Please come to the Miranda's Prize Catch restaurant as soon as you read this, and don't bother being fancy.
Sincerely
An Admirer"
She finished up the note with a mixture of a surprise and a confused tone.
The others looked to Bakugo, who nodded "Mine's the exact same" he snarled "This shit is too suspicious."
Malek raised his hand "Give them to me."
"Well then, we fixed it, right? its clearly a trap" she stated as she handed hers to Malek. Bakugo did the same, and in a blurr, he reduced them to shreds.
"I suggest you have a form of bug on, so we know what's happening" he recommended.
"You could be in the area, which would be much more safe" Christina countered.
"Trust me, I would if it was an option, but this most likely is because of me, so it would be foolish as you could easily become hostages, besides, you have him" gestured to the annoyed Bakugo.
"Oh, yeah, sure. I feel safer already" she sighed.
"What Was That?!" Bakugo shouted, but Malek ignored.
"You need to do something for me...both of you" he stated.
She chuckled as she looked at Bakugo "You're a manner less pig, my love" a serious look took over as she refocussed her attention "And what's that?"
"When they mention me, and I'm certain they will, mention I'm a fellow student, but I don't talk much. Straight up lying is more suspicious than saying part of the truth" he stated.
She sighed as she searched his eyes "None of us know the whole story, so it's not lying."
"Well I want you to go with that, please, for your sakes" he sighed "Momo, could you make two audio bugs, please?" She nodded and started on it already, taking about five seconds thanks to her quirk.
"Well then, I think we're done here, lets head out" Christina stated.
"Take the bug on your way out" Malek stated, seeming a little nervous.
She rubbed his head, collecting the bug and chuckled "Worst case scenario, we die before we make it."
Malek gulped a little, and the others seemed nervous as well "Be careful, will ya, big guy?" Kaminari asked Bakugo, trying to lighten the mood, being met with "I Can Handle Myself Just Fine!"
Christina patted Bakugou on the shoulder "Lets get this show on the road!" she stated with gusto.
The explosion user simply growled and pushed away from her, grabbing his bug.
"Both of you!" Malek called over "if either of you die...I'll never forgive you!" he smiled weakly. Christina nodded as the two left, heading to who knows what.
(Miranda's Prize Catch)
The exterior seemed like a normal restaurant, afew little tables, no guards, quite welcoming even. "Huh, looks pretty normal. Should we head inside?" Christina questioned.
Bakugou responded by shooting her a glare and walking in, angry as usual.
She sighed as she followed him "Gosh, you're no fun" she sighed, earning another glare.
Inside, there was a decent size space, with many tables and chairs, but only one was occupied, by an individual.
Christina chuckled a bit "now this was more predictable than I thought it would be, classy but predictable."
Bakugo went straight over and sat down, the figure waving her over.
"Secret admirer, eh?" she reluctantly obeyed as she went over and took a seat.
The person began in a low, feminine voice "I imagine I don't need to keep up the "biggest fan" sharade, now do I?"
"I think we'd both prefer if you didn't. What do you want" Christina answered.
"Money, power, jewelery, anything an independant woman wants, but in the mean time..." offered a small shot of whiskey "...information will do" she stated, running her finger round the rim.
She nudged it back "I don't drink, not sure how we can help since we have next to nothing in common here, so why us?"
Bakugou grabbed the glass and downed it surprisingly quickly.
"You see, I have been hired by an organisation who is searching for an individual, and it is believed you two are both aquainted with them" the responded calmly, seemingly unfeeling.
"And? We're at a school, I think you'll need to be more specific" she chuckled.
"The individual in question is a young Malek Pyro, he's wanted for a string of odd assaults" she stated.
"Weird, I've never heard of him before" she lied as she glanced over at Bakugo, hoping he was sober enough to follow her lead.
"I thought you'd say that" she threw over a brown envelope.
Christina looked at the envelope, then back at her before opening it up "hm?"
What was inside was two large pictures, one of her talking to Malek at the mall, and the other, her outside 1A dorm.
"The truth this time" the stranger sounded confident.
She sighed and shrugged "If you saw that, you must have seen what happened after at the mall, I felt the need to thank him, but as you saw, he ran off, but I seriously don't know him, it was just a kind gesture" she replied.
"Can you second that, Mister Bakugou?" she asked the explosion user, who nodded "I see, and what of yourself?" she enquired.
"He's quiet, he's crazy, and his passive aggressive demeanour pisses me off!" he said sharply, still looking completely conscious of his words.
"Then I suppose I must change tactics" she stated, very confusing.
"If bringing us down here to get to him was your plan it's quite useless as we are" Christina said, crossing her leg.
"Oh, trust me, it wasn't a waste" she slowly clenched her fist, and the moment she gripped hard, Bakugo gripped his head, shouting "What The Hell Is This!?"
She stood up abruptly "What are you doing to him?!" However, her head would immediately be flooded by a single word "Submit" echoing over and over again in her head.
She kneeled on the floor, shouting repeatedly "no no no!"
The figure slowly walked to the two, showing it was a woman in black and purple, with fingerless gloves, as a second woman appeared "You see, Bakugo is suffering from my quirk, Physical Takeover, whereas you have my sisters quirk, Audible Takeover, afflicting you" she stated calmly, her words laced with pride.
Christina slowly started to move, fading in and out of her quirk but couldn't fully concentrate it "S-stop it, p-please."
"That won't be happening, I'm sorry to say. Just stop struggling and give in, it's easy as falling asleep" as she finished her sentence, the word got louder and faster "Submit!"
She crawled away as the pounding in her head increased, slowly losing consciousness "M-Malek..."
And another chapter done with, sorry for the mild delay, I'm an A level student, so life is busy.
