Ran and Sarah had just arrived at the island where the animal poachers were. The girls were about to engage them, only to find that they were already taken care of. Sarah asked Ran what had happened, only for one of the poachers to respond. "A young cocker spaniel shocked us with a magical instrument," he stated still trying to recover from a daze, "she had insane magic emitting." The duo was confused, but they soon shifted their focus to the animals.
Back on Earth, the girls of Spice Chord were still amazed by Jacklyn's magical feat from the day before. Jacklyn was curious about the magic she released as well, and wondered how she had gotten magical powers to begin with. "How come I have special powers?" Jacklyn asked the broom. The Shooting Star's spirit replied, "Being a mage is something that can be passed down through your relatives." The spirit also explained that a Mystrallian's magical ability came from family blood.
The next day, the girls returned to Mystrallia to look for books on magic ancestry. The girls believed that the phenomenon Jacklyn created had occurred in Mystrallia before. They found a public library, and decided to research different topics. Jacklyn and Charlie would research special magic while Laura would research ancestry. Laura found a lot of detailed family trees, along with a lot of famous mages. The famous mages Laura had found were famous warriors, fashion designers, chefs, and even some famous performers. Charlie had found magic relating to food, while Jacklyn was trying to find music-related magic. She eventually found a section describing a phenomena that was similar to the one Jacklyn had pulled off on the animal hunters. That ability was known as the Power of Song and it described mages who were either skilled in singing, playing musical instruments or a mix of both resulting in miraculous spectacles in which powerful blasts of magic, form changes, enhanced magic, and even special summons took place during a performance or battle. Laura soon came in with the book of famous mages and their ancestors. She then showed Jacklyn and Charlie a family tree of the mages who had first discovered the musical Power of Song along with their ancestors. The family was known as the Miochi Family, and Jacklyn soon began to hypothesize that she might be related to those mages.
Ran soon came in to the girls studying spot. Jacklyn asked Ran if she knew anything about the Miochi Family which was the family that started the musical magic. Ran was not an expert on family history, but she did know quite a few bits of the family history. According to Ran, the family had mysteriously declined and fell into obscurity with no known cause as to why. Jacklyn felt concerned for a moment before thanking Ran for the insight. She then asked her what she was planning on researching in the library. "I'm planning on doing some research on some of the magical creatures that were rescued," Ran explained to the girls. "I thought all the animals had returned to their respective homes," Laura then said confused by Ran's explanation for studying. Ran explained that some of the animals were still stuck on the island, and she was concerned about the animals' well-being. Laura then wished Ran good luck with the animal research. Jacklyn then decided to see if Laura and Charlie wanted to do some more studying, and they did. Laura wanted to study Mystrallian fashion, Charlie wanted to study various Mystrallian desserts and how to make them, and Jacklyn wanted to study anything magic-related in the world of magic. They once again got assistance from the librarian, who had originally helped them find the genealogy books. She was a kind ostrich who was in her middle-ages. She first directed Laura and Charlie to their respective locations in the library, before informing Jacklyn to "find the information your heart desires." Jacklyn was baffled, but understood what she was trying to say.
