Block it! I screamed after the darkness was replaced with a Kunai. Ryu's sword rose and met the kunai, creating a spark. He landed into a stance, his swords ready to strike.
His teammates defended their own sides of the carriage, while Tsunade stood in front of it, having left the horses to stand closer to her students. "What's going in?" Ryu asked as adrenaline rushed in his body.
Tsunade looked at Ryu, before she moved her head to the side, letting the kunai pass by. "We have been surrounded by enemy shinobi." She grunted as she dodged another set of Kunais, before catching two and throwing them to where they came from. Two bodies thumped at the ground. "Exact number and affiliation unknown."
Ryu, defend the princess! I said, gulping as I imagined the consequences if the princess got hurt.
"What do we do about the client, sensei?" Ryu asked as his feet moved closer to the carriage.
Tsunade glared at the shinobis. She took a step back, before turning her head a bit so that she could keep her eyes on the enemy, "Kushina, how much chakra do you have?"
"Enough to do a hundred wave jutsus before feeling drained," she said as she hit her chest, her nose up in the air.
Jesus Christ, I thought.
"Good," Tsunade nodded before gazing back at the trees, "Ryu, Haruno," Tsunade said, "take the client and run, Kushina and I will cover you."
Ryu nodded before turning to the carriage. He opened the carriage, "Princess, we have been surrounded, please follow me if you want to stay safe." Ryu spun and showed his back to the princess before he crouched and put his hands near his hips.
"I see," she said, " to which Ryu am I currently speaking?"
"The one you just spoke to a moment ago," Ryu said before the princess's arms encircled his throat. Ryu stood and jerked the princess so his grip was more comfortable. He glanced at the servants, "What about your servants, Princess?"
"Oh right," she whispered. She actually forgot them, ha! She snapped her fingers, "Get ready to battle, follow his orders and keep me safe," she said before seals flashed at the two servants' heads.
Ryu blinked his eyes before staring at the shining seals, "What was that?"
"Merely some loyalty seals, they ensure I won't get betrayed."
Loyalty seals, huh? I thought before taking control, "So what's the limit of these seals?" I asked as I rolled my ring and little fingers and let the rest stand up. A white cloud appeared before it dissipated, making my clone visible. We nodded to each other. "What's stopping people from using them?"
"You're a curious one, aren't you?" she giggled, making me grimace. Please do your ara-ara bullshit with the simp. "Reason number one; there's only a limited number of them in the market, and my family happens to employ almost all of the ones that can create such seals."
Our feet smacked the ground as the trees flashed by in our peripheries, the clone blocking the enemy in front of me, while the maids defended my flanks, "And the second reason, the Uzumaki's don't exist anymore, so we have no competition anymore."
The clone shinpued in front of me, before kneeling. It let me jump on its back before I bounced to the shinobi that used his right arm to block my heel kick while blocking the clone's kunai near his stomach.
"Ahhh!" the princess screamed as she fell into the clone's arms. My leg pulled me before my entire weight buckled his limb. I fell between him and his arm, letting my elbow hit his collarbone.
He staggered, then fell with his hand on his collarbone. I drew one of my swords before stabbing him in the throat. I gulped before looking up, "Fuck me," I said as dozens of shinobis stood in front of me. Fortunately, none were jounin, or rather, none of them had jounin levels of chakra and there's no need to hide their chakras right now. Good, I can escape.
My foot twisted, making dust and gravel fly before my other foot clapped the ground as I darted from the group, making them exclaim. Before anyone started chasing me I felt a familiar pressure, before something whistled behind me. I heard their screams as they were pushed away by a powerful wind.
Sadly, there were more shinobis in front of me. I and my clone used this simple tactic. I would flash to one enemy, while my clone did it after me, surprising my enemy and creating an opening for me to take. We managed to eliminate three of them before we got encircled.
Uhm, Spirit, you have a plan, right? You let them encircle us on purpose for a purpose. Plea.., I ignored the rest of Ryu's ramblings, furrowing as I stared and tried to find headbands or anything to help me figure out where they're from.
Plan? I interrupted Ryu, What makes you think I'm a thinker? I asked, before nodding at my clone, who went in a puff. The princess shrieked as she fell on her rear.
What…?
I threw my swords on the ground, before going down on my knees, "I give up!" I screamed, making everyone tense in surprise.
"What are you doing?!" the princess screamed, making me wince. I looked at her with my lips in a thin line.
Gosh, your voice is annoying, I thought at her scared face, "I'm winning," I said, making her blink. I sighed, "Just do as I say." I looked around and saw that maids were being held down behind the enemy shinobi in front of us.
The shinobis around us, still tense, glanced at each other before nodding. One of them pulled a seal from her bag, before jumping down from the tree and walked to us, "Alright kid, no surprises and we'll let you go after we take the Princess."
"Trust me," I answered while baring my teeth, "there will be no surprises from me."
Credits where it's due, she hesitated a second, most likely suspecting something. Unfortunately, she wasn't fast enough when she heard her comrades scream, nor fast enough to dodge the corpse that hit her, making something in her crunch.
Unlike her though, I jumped straight into the action. I took my swords and ran to her, who was groaning and bleeding from her head. I slashed her throat. I summoned another clone, "Defend her," I ordered while pointing at the shocked princess. The clone grunted in affirmation before he went to her and the other clone. I tried to reach my team who was causing havoc.
I don't know for how long we were fighting, but when we were done, the majority of our enemies were dead or dying. I was sitting and leaning into a tree, forcing my breakfast to stay in my stomach and closed my eyes. Haruno has completely exhausted her chakra and is now feverish and Kushina has already thrown up her food and now is just vomiting air.
The grass crunched in front of me. I opened my eyes and was greeted by brown cold eyes, "Are you satisfied?" she said as she waved to the corpses, "This is what you wanted, right?" she took a step closer, "This is the challenge you sought, isn't it?"
I opened my mouth, but no words came out. I almost retched now that my body instinctively used my nose to breathe with, making me smell the corpses. I closed my mouth, my cheeks hurt because of the sudden pressure and I gulped my breakfast back in.
After I was done heaving, I looked up and saw the condescending eyes of the bitch. I clenched my fists, "And what's the point of the speech?" I asked as I pushed myself up, "You're saying this is my fault?"
She snorted, "You still don't get it after all this?" she asked as she raised an eyebrow, "I don't know why I'm even surprised," she said before turning her back to me. She glanced at me, "After the bell test, I was hoping you would be different from the other Uchihas, but you were quick to prove otherwise."
The cold left my shivering body and was replaced with hot fury, "The fuck did you say, you bitch!?" I growled.
She spun and glared at me, making my heart tense. But I still kept eye contact and glared even harder. After glaring for a while, Tsunade sighed and rubbed her face, "Just help your teammates, I have to deal with the bandits," she said before walking away from me.
I fell on my butt, before looking at the two girls who looked sick. Well, one's actually sick, I thought before I crawled to the trembling Haruno. I softly slapped her on the cheek, making her blink before she focused her eyes on me.
"Ryu?" she said with a hoarse voice.
"Yes, Haruno?" I answered while opening my bag before pulling a bag of chakra pills.
"It hurts," she said as tears to well up in her eyes,
"I know," I said, lifting her head with one hand, while the other held a pill, "say ahh."
"Ahh," I dropped the pill in her mouth. She swallowed it, "I wanna go home," she said before shaking even more and tears slid down her head.
"Me too," I heaved a sigh while patting her head as she cried.
