Just as the sun rises and a new day is peeking through, followed by a new ray of sunshine, so does the joy and hope of fire reignites on Hinata's heart.
"Hinata!" Ten Ten exclaimed, with her hair tied in 2 pigtails on both sides, indicating she just woken up no too long ago, and right now, enjoying her breakfast with a mug of hot coffee. "Eat slowly will you?" she said.
Since the time Hinata woke up, she was already filled with excitement and hope about today, resulting to her change of demeanor. Being Hinata's roommate who practically lived under the same roof as her, Ten Ten noticed this change immediately.
"Hinata, did you not hear what I just said?" Ten Ten spoke again. It's true though, Hinata's eating speed was faster than usual, and the brunette knows perfectly well the reason behind this change of attitude. "I know you're excited about today Hinata. But can you at least eat normally? No one's racing with you," the brunette repeated after the lack of response from Hinata. After all, the blunette seemed like she didn't hear a thing and continued eating with the same speed.
Hinata was too occupied with the possible scenarios that might happen later on. Starting on the best answers she could provide on the common questions that are asked, to negative thoughts on how will she manage to be a famous actor's assistant.
What if they reject me... She thought to herself.
"Hinata! You still there?!" Ten Ten shouted with concern. Little did Hinata know that her roommate is actually calling her so many times now. She was too preoccupied.
"What?" the blunette asked. "Did you say something?" she asked.
"My goodness Hinata..." Ten Ten facepalmed and shook her head in disappointment. "Were you overthinking about possible scenarios?" she added that caught Hinata off guard.
How'd she know...?
"How did you..." the blunette trailed off.
"Hinata, I literally live with you, so of course I know these things," Ten Ten said with a 'as-a-matter-of-fact' tone. Hinata rolled her eyes playfully.
"Oh what do you know..." Hinata joked.
"Just... for now empty your mind and... enjoy this sunny morning," Ten Ten suggested as she looked out the window and smiled.
There was a brief comfortable silence after the brunette's last remark. Hinata sighed and smiled as well.
"You're right," she started as she looked out the window like what was Ten Ten doing.
Hinata decided to just forget the job offer for now and just, enjoy the morning and occupy herself with those thoughts later on.
At the time the real deal is in front of her.
~O~O~O~O~O~O~
"Hurry up Hinata!" the brunette once again raised her voice.
"Wait!" the blunette responded immediately, running down the stairs with her unorganized purse.
Oh how the situation suddenly turned to this...
Hinata's eating speed earlier might be faster than normal, her mind however kept spacing out, causing her to not move for a few minutes. And that simple thing, led to what she's experiencing now.
She's about to be late.
"I'll be going now, Ten Ten!" after long minutes of rushing and running around the apartment, the blunette finally decided to get going. After all, she's really going to be late at this point if she spends more time for unnecessary things.
It's a good thing I don't make-up... Hinata thought with a little shake of her head and a playful smile while walking through the roads of the city and go to the designated meet-up place that the email sent to her provided.
Of course as usual, Hinata is greeted by different people. From old to kind little children. And as usual, the pervy stares from potential or literal perverts she gets are there, that always makes her suddenly self-conscious and uncomfortable.
The place wasn't that far from Hinata and Ten Ten's apartment. However, she was really running late so she couldn't risk any stopovers or any other interruption.
I can't have a bad first impression... Hinata says to herself that further boosts the nervousness she was feeling since realizing she's late.
Well, considering this is Hinata's chance and another thing like this is very rare, she needs to get the job.
After a few more moments of walking and constructing answers for potential questions later on.
She was too preoccupied that she didn't notice she already walked past the destination.
Hinata was now a few meters away from the cafe that they agreed to meet in. She was walking straight, very distracted compared to earlier, bacause, she was using her phone.
The blunette was like everyone else.
She can also be absorbed in the entertainment or convenience a phone has in store for her. Just like a teenager, she might be seen randomly smiling or giggling, most likely getting the feels of what she's seeing.
HONK!
A loud sound from a vehicle removed Hinata from her fixated gaze on her phone. She knew it wasn't a good idea to use your phone while walking, but she couldn't resist the temptation to scroll down Instagram to at least calm her raging heart for a bit.
Now look what happened... A voice said in the back of Hinata's head, that one voice that kept warning her about the bad things that might happened if you let temptation control you.
Hinata was almost hit by a car, and now all attention is now at her, which made her stomach uncomfortable.
She wanted nothing less but to flee away from all the scene and ruckus she caused in the middle of a busy road and city bustling with such busy people.
But the blunette knows she can't just simply get away from this without a apology. Or worse, the driver might shout at her that will further cause delay to what she was supposed to do.
And just there on, Hinata realized that she was meters past the cafe that she's supposed to be right now if she wasn't too distracted on that stupid Instagram video about Sakura being pranked by her husband.
Not long after all the blaming she gave herself, the driver of the BMW car that almost hit her came out.
Oh crap... Here it comes... Hinata braced herself for anything to be thrown at her. From simple suggestion or advices 'about always being attentive whenever you're walking in the road' to loud complaints on 'how she just made the business man late for his meeting with an important business partner' and other stuff that will totally make Hinata so screwed in front of so many people.
The man who came out of the expensive luxury car was wearing a casual attire, not a tux that Hinata expected it to be.
However, those casual shirt and jeans weren't anything absolutely normal to be called 'casual attire' by people like her.
Looking at those clothing that simply displays the giant word 'Gucci' and a jacket that also has a 'LV' logo in it. And even though Hinata never wore those type of clothing, (she can wear them but she doesn't have the money, plus she refuses to), it looked obviously original to her.
And of course, a watch that was obviously Rolex was also wrapped around his wrist.
Crap.. I think I messed with the wrong person... Hinata cursed as the said man wearing the 'casual clothing' approached her. This man was taller that Hinata and practically towered over her. He has a vibrant, blonde-orangey hair, whisker-like things plastered on his face, and he smelled very, very nice.
Is that an Axe cologne? Hinata thought for a short moment. The blunette fought the urge to roll her eyes from what she just naughtily thought.
How can I think about those things when I'm clearly in a dead position now? She added.
"Excuse me, miss," the man said firmly. Hinata immediately felt a sudden chill down her spine and looked straight at his eyes.
However, she didn't see the colors of it. The man was wearing sunglasses, and of course Hinata didn't miss the fact that it was also a branded one.
"Sir, I am very, very sorry for my actions," Hinata bowed deeply with embarrassment, "I know I should've been more attentive and mor-"
Before Hinata could finish, the man raised his index finger in front of his mouth. The blunette found the gesture oddly hot that it made her heart skip a beat, something that Hinata never felt in so many years.
Wait... did my heart just...
"It's ok miss," The blonde man gave Hinata a headpat. Yes, a headpat that we only see in romance movies and animes. "Just be careful next time," he continued and left, going inside that luxury car of his.
Hinata was left there stunned, but rational enough to walk towards the pavement and process there everything that just conspired.
Well, that was a weird moment... She thought.
The blunette decided to store all of the memories that just happened today in the back of her mind and keep her priorities on the front, ready.
Walking towards the cafe that wasn't that far from the epicenter of her embarrassing scene. Although, she can't help but repeat the time where her heart suddenly just skipped a beat with a simple 'shush' gesture from the man who she just saw for the first time.
Was he hot for me to suddenly do that? she asked herself, hoping she could at least find a proper answer for earlier. Well, I mean he did look handsome, but...
"Ugghh! Focus Hinata!" she scolded herself as she slapped both her cheeks, making it show a light pink tint on both sides, a contrast to her light, almost pale skin that glowed beautifully under the bright sun.
Just before she could walk anymore past the cafe, she halted right away and checked if it was the right one.
And yes, it was indeed the exact place the email told her.
Here it goes... Hinata took a deep breath and a long exhale to reduce the tension and anxiety she was feeling.
Finally, she opens the shop, only to see a young woman who was sitting in a table near the door, waving her hand aggressively, enough for Hinata to notice her. The blunette suspected that she was the person who was sent to talk, or in other words, interview her.
Hinata approached her and sat across her with the smile she could pull.
"Nice to meet you, Ms. Hyuga Hinata," she greeted, "I'm Uzumaki Karin," she outstretched her arm for Hinata to shake, which the blunette did with no hesitation.
The woman named Karin has a vibrant red hair, with matching red glasses, her trade mark perhaps. She was very beautiful, with rare red eyes and a slim body, not to mention, very polite, (as for Hinata's first impression of her).
"Nice to meet you too, Ms. Uzuma-"
"Oh please," she cut the blunette, "Call me Karin," she added with a smile.
"O-Ok Ms. Ka-Karin," Hinata stuttered.
"Alright then Ms. Hinata, I've got a question for you," Karin said firmly. "Don't worry, I already ordered," she added, whispering with a wink, breaking out of her serious look for a brief moment.
"Oh... I see..." were the only words Hinata could mutter despite all the tension and pressure she's feeling.
"Now, going back to my question," Karin immediately switched with a serious demeanor. Hinata visibly flinched on how Karin looks at her, followed by a gulp.
Hinata expected the question as a very hard one, something that is rarely asked in job interviews because of that piercing gaze Karin is giving.
But what Karin asked, was indeed a very rare and hard question that even made Hinata's eyebrow furrow.
"Will you take it?" Karin asked.
"What?" Hinata blinked her eyes as she confusingly asked.
"Will you take the job?" Karin repeated, inching closer to the blunette's face.
"Um..." Hinata contemplated.
Well... that wasn't the question I expected...
"I guess so..." she internally shrugged and accepted the job.
"Are you sure?" Karin asked, with glee practically written all over her face.
"I mean, there's nothing to lose."
Karin celebrated quietly, minding the other customers peacefully enjoying their cup of coffees.
"Alright then, you'll start tomorrow," Karin said.
"Umm... alright. But are you reall-"
"Of course I am Hinata!" Karin cut her off with an exaggerated exclaim. "I will message you everything you need to know via email. For now, let's enjoy thing time," the redhead suggested. As if on cue, their coffee orders also arrived.
Both of them later got absorbed into their silly conversations about completely random stuff.
But one thing kept lingering in Hinata's mind. It wasn't a question that dealt confusion towards her, but a thought of assurance.
I guess I got the job that easily...
