I don't own Naruto or any of its characters.
In the past chapter everything that Kaida says is my take on some stuff and the Naruto timeline before the start of the plot is funky so I might get things wrong timeline wise. Everything though is supposed to go with the story.

Minato and Kaida's age gap is not going to change. Age doesn't matter in the Naruto world. They are soulmates but being soulmates doesn't require them to have a romantic relationship right away. That is all I am going to say. Enjoy, review, and favorite.

Weeks turn into Months and before I know it I'm six years old. I continue to 'skip' school and on the occasions that I do go I usually hang out with Itachi Uchiha. Technically I always hang out with him but I'm just counting the times the real me goes to school. The reason I am hanging out with the future Clan killer well… because there is no one else I can stand.
You see after a few months of the academy our teacher decided to bump us up to the graduating class when he noticed that we had no trouble whatsoever in class. So here we are in a room with all of the twelve year olds. I decided that I can't stand the kids in our class when the girls started a Itachi fan club and decided to off me.
I didn't stand for that so the girls ended up being covered in feathers and spoiled milk by the end of the day. Don't ask me where I got them. I don't even know I'm kinda putting that in anime logic.
Today is my uh 'personal day' yeah let's go with that. So I was walking down the main street pondering the reason of life… no not really I was planning my next prank. I felt them coming my way and decided to not change my course. I wasn't surprised when they zeroed in on me. I braced myself for the crush–hug that was coming. Soon enough I was pulled into a body by strong arms. My back was bending awkwardly around the huge bump attached to the person that was squeezing the life out of me.
Red strands of hair floated across my vision as I lifted my head to lock eyes with the amethyst eyes of my jailor.
"Good morning Sensei." I say while reinforcing my ribs with chakra so they didn't break.
"Good morning my minion." My heavily pregnant Sensei answered giving me one last squeeze before letting go.
'Yes ladies and gentlemen my Sensei is the Kushina Uzumaki jailor of the Nine Tails Fox and wife of the Fourth Hokage. Not that anyone knows either of those things.' I thought as I let a smaller but just as strong pair of hands heal my bruises.
"Good Morning Kakashi, Rin, Biwako-sama." I say bowing my head while Rin healed my bruised ribs.
"Still skipping class I see, Kaida." Biwako commented.
I grinned at her before giving Rin a hug. She welcomed it with open arms since I have been doing it ever since her capture two years ago. What an adventure that was. I let go and climbed onto Kakashi's shoulders thinking back to the eventful day.

Flashback
So here I was sitting in my room meditating. My chakra sense was really good and I was the first person to 'go after' Rin when she was kidnapped. Technically Sylvia and Avalon were the ones that were actually following them while I guided them.
I had realised that I couldn't explain me leaving the village or just so happening to 'stumble' upon the site. Another thing was that I was not fast enough to actually follow them. So I had to change the plans.
I watched through Sylvia's eyes as they got to the spot that they were going to do the sealing. I see a fancy urn with seals on it. As they set Rin down on the ground to start the sealing I make my move. Giving the signal Sylvia uses a genjutsu to make it so everyone sees the guard that was holding onto Rin was her and Rin was the guard. Of course I had to make sure Rin was also under this effect so she didn't mess up anything.
The sealing took forever and Avalon had to take over the genjutsu when Sylvia got tired. By the end of it Rin was not a ticking time bomb but the guard was. When Kakashi came to save her, Avalon released the genjutsu and all of the enemies were put under a new genjutsu that made it seem like the process was complete and Rin was the ticking time bomb. Of course Rin knew the truth so she played along and when the time came for her to impale herself on Kakashi's Chidori she pushed the guard that actually was sealed onto Kakashi's hand.

So the timeline was still intact and Rin was alive. Another bonus was the thing that was headed our way.
"Hey guys! Sorry I was late." A voice yells from behind us.
Kakashi turns around and I see an eyepatch wearing slightly scared Obito come running up behind us. When they finished fighting the Kiri-nin Obito showed himself. Surprisingly Rin punched him yelling something about a ghost. Or at least that was what Kakashi said. The three of them got back and there was a big celebration for Obito's return of course that was postponed when he reported back what happened to him. Back to the present though.
"About time loser you were going to be left behind if you didn't come on time. What's the excuse this time? A black cat? Or another Old Lady?" Kakashi teased.
Another thing that changed. Kakashi didn't slouch or read porn out in public. He wasn't stuck up either. He stood tall but relaxed. He still kept his mask and did join ANBU but he laughed more often and was more expressive in general. He is on time for the important stuff but likes to be late for the not so important stuff. The excuses are funny.
"No! I was helping a group of kids get a ball out of a tree. Besides the black cat excuse was yours! Bakashi!" Obito ran up to our group coming in between Kakashi and Rin.
"Don't start anything you two we have things to do today. Kaida you know you can't just skip classes just because you want to. How are you going to graduate if you keep missing classes?" Rin turned towards me leaning forward to look at me.
"I'm not skipping classes. Technically I have never missed a class in the whole time I have been going to the academy." I ran my fingers through Kakashi's hair as they walked through the street.
'For such spiky hair it is very soft.' I thought to myself.
"How are you going to class if we always see you walking around the village?" Obito comments.
I look up from my observation of Kakashi's hair to smile at them. A quick flex of chakra and three shadow clones showed up in front of them without the smoke and pop that usually happens. All of them stare at the clones stopping in their tracks. I feel pride welling up in my chest when the clones come out. I spent months of doing chakra control and training with the clones till I could produce them without smoke and sound.
"Cool right! It took me forever to find the right amount of chakra to use so it didn't produce sound and smoke. I love my minion jutsu, it just makes a lot of things easier." I say as they continue to stare.
"When did you learn this?" Kakashi was the first one to snap out of it and I dispelled the clones.
"Years ago but I just got them to pop up and go away without the extra stuff. The headaches didn't help when I first made them but I've been doing this thing that I read about 'categorizing your mind scape' and I've been working on thinking on multiple levels so when I use them in battle I can see their memories while not losing focus on what I was doing. I do lose some bouts because of this but it's worth it so I don't get massive headaches in the middle of a battle." I flipped onto the ground in front of them using Kakashi as a springboard.
"How many can you make?" Kushina-sensei asked.
"The first time I used it I made a couple thousand and it only took some of my chakra. I also made a lot afterward for a while before I started to run out of chakra." I answered before continuing to walk down the street.
"So where are all of you going? I mean no offence Sensei but you look like you're about to pop, should you really be going anywhere?" I looked back to my sensei's huge stomach.
"Well Kakashi and Obito are on the guard for Kushina's birth. While Lady Biwako and I are going to be on the medical team. So we're going to get ready for the birth." Rin answered.
"That seems like it's going to be a little overkill especially if Minato is going to be there. Well good luck then and make sure that the thing in her stomach doesn't kill you." I see everyone tense up as I finish talking.
"I mean I heard that the gummy bite of a baby is vicious. I'm sure two A-rank and a SS-rank shinobi will never win against an infant's gummy smile." I grinned as everyone relaxed.
"The baby isn't viscous." Obito says easing the tension.
"It sure will be when it uses your face as a chew toy or spit rag." I say before leaving waving goodbye.
'So Naruto will be born soon. I wonder if Mandara got someone to take obito's place?' A frown crossed my face before disappearing.

I end up at the Nara Clan compound. As I walk to the Main household I could already tell almost all of them were there. I held back a sigh as I tried to remember how I got myself into this situation.

Flashback
It was a regular day. I was uh… having a personal day taking a break from training. I was walking through the Market when a baby's crying reached my ears. I followed the sound to see a woman having trouble with a baby and her groceries. I saw everyone give the woman and child a wide berth as she struggled. I was an actual nice person so I went up to the woman and offered my help. Since she was holding the baby and her groceries she couldn't reach for the money. I gently took the baby from her when she said yes. A few minutes later the baby was calm and I held him in one arm while the other had the woman's groceries. It took me till we made it to her clan grounds to realise that they were Aburame and that she was the clan head's wife. I stayed to talk to her and have lunch I offered in the end to babysit if she needed some time off. The woman jumped at the chance and that was how I ended up as Shino's babysitter.
That wasn't all of course. I truly thought that the clans hated each other but that apparently wasn't the case since about a month into my little arrangement with Maeko Shino's mother that Tsume Inuzuka came over to my house and dropped off Kiba into my arms along with his diaper bag saying that she was needed on a mission before leaving. Avalon and Sylvia laughed at my misfortune before I threatened to stop feeding them honey biscuits that I make for them. I had just finished changing Kiba when Tsume came back later that day. After inspecting Kiba she said that Maeko was right and to expect more impromptu babysitting gigs before leaving again.
Of course that wasn't the end of it somehow over the next month in between babysitting Kiba and Shino I had met and helped the other clan wives with their babies. Soon enough Maeko took me to one of the meetings and they stuck me in a room with all of the rookie nine (minus Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, Hinata, and Ino). There were other helpers in the room so I didn't need to take care of them by myself but they mostly just watched me. At the end of it Maeko just took me home and I didn't babysit for anyone for the next week.
Then the jobs started. For the next two months messengers from the Uchiha, Inuzuka, Aburame, and Akimichi tracked me down so I could come to the clan compounds to babysit. There was also the occasional bring the baby to me set up. The Uchiha's invitation was the one that surprised me the most since I knew that Itachi loved his baby brother. It did make sense that when I came over he was out training.
The months passed and I went to the meetings with different clans and mothers meeting the other pregnant mothers. Shikamaru and Ino were recent additions, both born in September a day apart.
I have also come to the conclusion that fathers were stupid. I only say that because I have recently met all of the husbands at the most recent meeting.
The first thing I said to Fugaku the Uchiha clan head was that he was holding Sasuke wrong. The man tried to talk back to me and all I had to say was how many babies has he held? That shut him up and gave me a chance to lecture him on how to hold a baby while adjusting him. I don't think I have ever seen Mikoto laugh until then.
The next reason for me calling fathers stupid was Inochi the Yamanaka clan head. Everytime Ino cried he picked her up and rocked and cooed at her. Every. Time. After an hour of watching that I finally got mad enough that the next time he went to pick her up I hit him on the head with a rolled up magazine. Hard. I explained how babies need to cry or they end up relying on them too much and turn into spoiled brats. Every time he went to pick her up because she cried for attention when she already had some I hit him on the head with the rolled up magazine.
Shikaku the Jonin Commander and Nara Clan head kept letting Shikamaru take naps during the day so his sleep schedule was wrong. I kicked him everytime he let Shikamaru take a nap before his nap time.
Choza kept feeding Choji too much. All I did was lecture him for an hour about a baby's diet and take Choji away when he went to feed him again. The only one that wasn't stupid was Shibi and Haisashi. Shibi listened to my lectures and followed the 'corrections' that I 'gave' the other dads and Haisashi didn't have a baby yet because Hinata was due in december.
…
So here I am on my way to the Nara household to babysit Shikamaru for today. Shikaku was waiting for me since Yoshino was going on a mission today. I walked right into the house without even knocking on the door. Setting my sandals down after taking them off I head upstairs to Shikamaru's room. I'm right in front of his door when Shikaku comes out of the bathroom shirtless. Now normally I would be frozen admiring his physic but my eyes completely passed over his abs and chiseled muscles to land on the big silver wolf with a scar over it's left eye that was on his abdomen. The wolf was beautiful even though it looked dangerous with its teeth bared ready to pounce right off Shikaku's skin. Blood covered parts of the wolf and shadows surrounded it. At some point I walked closer and noticed that the shadows were the entrance to something and there were what looked like puppies in the shadow. At first look it looked like the beast was a killing machine but looking closer it was actually protecting something.
"Your tattoo is so detailed. Where did you get it?" I asked after dragging my eyes away from the wolf.
"Tattoo? That's my soulmark." Shikaku looked at me with sharper eyes.
"Soulmark? What are you talking about? Soulmates don't exist. They are just stories made up for kids." I frowned remembering the stories my grandfather told me when I was a child.
"Soulmates are very real Kaida. On everyone's Tenth birthday their soulmarks show up on their skin. Words spoken by their other half are hidden in a design that represents the person. You don't see any words because only your soulmate can and you can find them in the design." Shikaku grabbed my hand and put it on the design.
I expected to feel the raised skin of a tattoo. But all I felt was untouched skin under my finger. I probed for a little while longer before removing my hand.
"…So when I turn Ten a mark and words will show up on my body?" I asked the man.
"It could be one mark or two but yes everyone gets a mark. Something to remember is that your soulmate bond doesn't have to be a romantic relationship. Sometimes the mate bond is a family or friendship bond." He explained.
"How many marks do you have? Also what happens if your soulmate says something to you when you're too young or out of it to remember?" I asked as he went to go to his room.
"I have two marks. As far as I know the person on the receiving end always remembers the words but the person that says them might not. Age of the person is also not a problem. If there is an age gap no one cares as long as the mates wait till all parties are of legal age before doing anything if in a romantic relationship." Shikaku turns around and I see another design on his back.
A sakura tree at full bloom on his back. The tree covered his full back. The blossoms were falling from the tree. You could see all of the bark pieces and blossoms on the tree and when I looked closer at the base of the tree under the roots was a saber tooth tiger sleeping as the blossoms fell. At first glance the tree is so beautiful and delicate. Then the tiger is seen in the shade under the tree with it's sharp claws and fangs.
"I hope mine looks as beautiful as yours." I say softly.
"I almost forgot but the more detail the mark has the stronger the bond." He says before going into his room.
Hours later a thought crossed my mind as I played with Shikamaru on the porch as the sun set.
'Shikaku has two marks and he said that the designs represent the person but I don't think that either of those marks represent Yoshino.'
An alarm sounded all of a sudden. In the academy they covered the alarm signals on the first day. The alarm was for an evacuation and signaling for all of the ninja to report to the tower. I went upstairs to grab Shikamaru's diaper bag and the wrap that I put him in so I didn't have to carry him the whole time.
As I left the house some of the retired shinobi helped me get to the nearest shelter. Everyone was tense and moved quickly but they didn't panic and no one was left behind. Halfway to the shelter Avalon and Sylvia ran up to me. I stopped momentarily to let them climb into Shikamaru's diaper bag before moving again. Not two minutes later Tsume drops Hanna–who was carrying Kiba and his diaper bag–off beside me.
"Stay with Kaida and do not lose your brother." She tells her daughter before disappearing.
Hanna stayed close to me not saying anything as we continued to move to the shelters. I could see her shaking holding onto her brother tightly as everyone moved. The next person to show up was Mikoto with Itachi–who held Sasuke and his diaper bag–and a brown haired girl that held onto Itachi like a leech.
"Stay with Kaida you two and do not lose each other." I noticed that Mikoto was wearing a jonin uniform before she left too.
No one said anything until we got into the shelter.
"So let's introduce ourselves. I'm Kaida and this is Shikamaru. I was babysitting while his parents were away. Oh and these are my familiars Avalon and Sylvia." I pointed to myself then the sleeping baby that I held before the two popped their heads out of the diaper bag.
"I'm Hanna and this is Kiba, my brother. These are my partners; they don't have names yet because I just got them today." Hanna points to herself and her brother before three heads pop out of the diaper bag she carried.
"My name is Itachi Uchiha. This is my brother Sasuke and my friend Izumi." Itachi was adorable trying to be serious with his chubby cheeks.
The girl he was with whispered a hello slowly relaxing. Before I could say anything, a ninja came into the shelter. They looked like Genin and Chunin. The ninja went to spots along the wall doing some weird hand signs. I could see their chakra spreading creating a dome around the room. I noticed the signals that I felt outside disappeared and I could only feel the ones inside of the dome.
No one said anything for what felt like hours after the doors finally closed. Then the chakra came. It was suffocating and all I could feel was hate. All of the babies woke and started to cough and choke some of the younger children as well. Without thinking about it I used my Chakra to create a barrier that purged the hate chakra from my system slowly making it bigger till it covered everyone in the shelter. The kids and babies stopped coughing and choking only from their shrill cries to fill the room as explosions and a defining roar sounded outside.
I rocked Shikamaru till he only sniffled while struggling to keep the barrier up at the Hate Chakra got closer and stronger. It got to the point where they could see the barrier and the Hate Chakra. Two hours later–I counted–the door opened again.
"Whoever is making this barrier could you please spread it out to the other bases." I think a Jonin asked.
The barrier that concealed our Chakra went down and I could finally 'see' the other chakra. There were three other shelters and in each one I could feel little chakras fluttering in and out of existence. Gently I made the barrier bigger purging as I went so that it covered all of the Shelters. I kept it there until the little flutters turned back into a steady signal before letting the barrier dissipate.
Everyone was let out of the shelters and were allowed to go home. Itachi, Izumi, and Hanna followed me to my home which was thankfully untouched. It also had a good view of the village. It looked like the civilian homes in the northern district were destroyed as well as some other places from raining debris.
I set up blankets and futons for everyone to use silently, thankful for the play pin that Tsume dropped off after so many babysitting jobs with the clan heirs. I put the babies in the pin and set everyone up around it leaving a light on so no one would get scared.
This setup continued for two days before their parents came to pick them up. Which left Shikamaru with me. I decided to go check up on Shikaku since I haven't seen hide nor hair of him and yoshino.
As I walked to the Nara Compound with Shikamaru sleeping in his wrap and Avalon and Sylvia walking on either side of me. We passed by a lot of people wearing borrowed clothes going to shops and destroyed buildings being cleared out by genin.
I finally arrived at the compound going through. I saw a few buildings crushed on some parts. Making it to the Main house I stopped and stared at what used to be a beautiful traditional japanese house which now was rubble.
"It was one of the houses destroyed by pieces of debris." Shiko, a retired shinobi that lived nearby said.
"Was anyone home?" I thought of yoshino coming home to an empty house after her mission.
Shiko just frowned looking away.
"Does Shikaku know?" I asked the retired shinobi.
"Yes he was the one to find her and her team."
"Do you think that there is anything salvageable? Shikamaru is starting to run out of diapers, formula, and clothes." I adjusted the wrap a little trying to stay calm and not think of the scene.
"Yes some of us went through it and took what we could. It is all inside my house until Shikaku can get enough of a breather to start rebuilding." Shiko led me away from the ruins to his place.
I used the storage scroll Shiko gace me to put Shikaku's and Shikamaru's clothes, weapons, toys, blankets, and hygiene things in it after I filled Shikamaru's diaper bag with diapers, wipes, clothes, and some clothes. The formula and bottles were in the kitchen which was completely destroyed. Shiko gave me some money to get formula and food with.
"Do me a favor little one and go check on that lazy fool before he runs himself into an early grave." Shiko asks before sending me away.
The first thing I do is pick up three containers of formula. And a pack of eight big bottles and the smaller six ounce ones. I send Avalon back to the apartment with the scroll and the formula and bottles. He comes back with my shopping bags just as I reach the market. I put a lot of food into the bags using most of the money for the groceries. I held two bags and Avalon and Sylvia each held one bag. As soon as I opened the door we all dropped our bags.
"Why did you have to get so much food Kai?" Sylvia asked.
"One because we're out of food. Two I have a feeling that I'm going to have to feed a lot of people. Could you put the food away? I need to make Shikamaru's bottle." I asked my partners.
The two of them dragged the four bags to the kitchen as I took the bag that Avalon brought earlier to the kitchen. Since I'm just one person I had a lot of kitchen space so after I washed all of the bottles I put them away in one of the empty shelves along with the formula. I left the cabinet open so they could put the dry foods in it. I heated up water before mixing it with formula just in time for Shikamaru to wake up for his meal.
I give him one of the smaller bottles–6oz.–since he was barely two weeks old. He finished eating and stayed awake. I put him in the play pin putting a few stuffed animals in as well so he could play with them if he wanted to. Then I helped Avalon and Sylvia to put the groceries away. I give them some honey biscuits as a reward before grabbing Shikamaru and putting him back in his wrap, grabbing his diaper bag again. I make sure to grab the money bag before leaving the apartment.
Shikamaru coos as I walk to the Tower. I stop at a restaurant to pick up three containers of food and get some drinks from across the street. Making my way up the stairs I asked someone that didn't look too frazzled where the jonin commanders office was. I made my way to the top floor doging ninja left and right as they rushed everywhere. I made it to the office I was looking for only to realise that it was empty.
'Destruction of the village. Get things back to normal quicker. Hokage's office.' I turned around and went to the Hokages office instead.
I make it to the office just as the secretary comes out.
"Oh good. I hope you have better luck then everyone else to get them to eat." The woman left the door open as she left with a big stack of papers.
I walk in to see a whole bunch of piles of paperwork on the floor in piles. Then I see the Hokage desk pushed into a corner holding coffee and ink bottles. In the middle of the room was a big table that had a lot of paperwork on it. I could hear shuffling and scratching coming from the other side of the paper tower. Shutting the door behind me I go around the tower finally able to see the source of the sound. Minato and Shikaku sat on either side of the table filling out paperwork and switching around papers like machines. Before I say anything I hear a soft cry of a baby.
I look down at Shikamaru only to see him awake and completely calm. The cry gets louder and I notice that it comes from the pile of papers on the ground next to Minato. I put the drinks and food on the ground along with Shikamaru's diaper bag before moving to the pile. Looking around it I see a little orange bundle wiggling. I deadpanned how it was in a paper made rocker before I picked up the little worm without squishing Shikamaru.
Little Naruto quieted but still cried softly. I went through the process. Diaper, Blanket, Bottle. I changed his full diaper and made a bottle after taking his thick blanket off. I make 4oz since I don't know how much he eats.
'Although he probably needs more since he is eating for two.' I thought as I watched him guzzle the bottle.
I adjusted to burp him real quick surprised that there was no spit up. I made another bottle and he guzzled half of it before slowing down. He finished the bottle and I burped him again glad that there was a little spit up.
I put Naruto's and Shikamaru's blankets down before putting them both on top of it, putting the diaper bag on one side and a pillow that I found on the other so they didn't roll somewhere. With that done I turn my attention to the other people in the room. Shikaku looked tired and pale but Minato was another story. He looked exhausted and I could see that his cheek started to cave like he hasn't eaten in days. I'm guessing that they both are working the same hours and with Naruto here they probably were sleeping the same hours–which means none–I don't think that they have eaten at all if I remember what the secretary said. So why does Minato look so much worse?
'Could it be that…' I frowned thinking about what happened that night before pushing the thought away.
I reach over and push away the pile of papers they were taking from as they filled out the one they were working on. I looked at them waiting for them to go for the next document. They both reached out at the same time only to meet air. I could see the daize that was over their eyes lifted a little.
"Which piles are the finished ones?" I asked when they turned their heads at me.
"The small piles by the door." Shikaku replied.
I looked at the door only to notice that the piles of paperwork were separated into two parts. The small plies near the windows were probably the to do ones and the bigger piles that almost reach the ceiling by the door are the ones already done. Just to make sure I check the piles glad that the taller ones had writing on it. Silently impressed that their writing was still neat and legible.
"Yeah you two have been here for two days straight. You haven't eaten in two days either. You're already ahead of most of your paperwork and you cannot continue to run on empty." I pick up the bags of food setting them in in front of the two men.
I quickly eat some of my food before putting the rest of it in their containers. I force chopsticks into their hands and open their containers.
"If I have to feed you I will." I say as I glare at them.
As they picked up the chopsticks and ate I started to move all of the piles that were in front of the door out of the way. Then I went to the window and opened the blinds. I could hear a hiss and goan as the light hit them.
"We are leaving as soon as you two are done eating we are going out and you are going to get cleaned up and sleep. If you don't want to go home then we will go to my house. I have Shikaku's clothes and things already there and I can get some of your stuff from your place Minato. Besides this little blond baby needs an actual bed not a paper made one." I sit next to the babies putting my keys above then lightly jiggling them.
It went on for a few minutes before the scraping of chopsticks against the containers stopped. I looked up to see both men finished eating and just looking at me. I smile before grabbing Shikamaru and putting him back into his wrap. I grabbed a thinner blanket that I bought and wrapped Naruto in it. Putting both of the blankets in the diaper bag. I was lucky that both babies were super young or caring both would have been a problem. I tossed the diaper bag to Shikaku and made Minato take the trash and drinks. They both follow me as I leave the office and tower. The walk back to my apartment was quiet. The people greeted them but I never heard an answer back. My arms started to burn as I motioned for Shikaku to get my keys from my bag.
The five of us suffered into the apartment and I pushed my sandals off moving into the living room where the play pin was. I set both babies down glad that they were both sleeping before moving into my bedroom. I grabbed the scroll I used to get Shikamaru's and Shikaku's stuff. Unsealing it I put the baby clothes into the empty draws that I had. I took out a pair of Shikaku's Pajama pants and a t-shirt also grabbing some underwear before putting the rest in the drawer. Hanging his shirts in the closet.
My apartment was actually bigger than the one Naruto has in the Anime. Still a one bedroom but in the room I had a full sized bed, dresser, night stand, and a big closet. The dresser had six draws and I only filled three. I put the baby clothes in the top draw and put Shikaku's stuff in the second one. In the closet I only filled barely a fourth of it so I could fit the guys stuff in there as well as the extra diapers.
I set all of the bathroom stuff in the bathroom. It was across from my room. It had a bath and shower like in my old life. The set up was very western with the sink near the door and the toilet in between the sink and shower. After I put all of the soaps into the shower I pulled out two towels, setting them on the counter putting Shikaku's clothes on top of one of them. I walked down the short hallway to the living room/dining room. I had a bookcase on the wall by the hallway with a Two seater couch under the windows. The playpen was in front of the couch and the table that was usually in front of the couch was in the corner with the futons and blankets stacked on top of it.
Avalon and Sylvia were on their beds that were pushed to the wall that separated the kitchen from the open. A table with four seats was in the empty space between the kitchen and living room. The kitchen only had one entrance. The kitchen was also set up like a western kitchen without the microwave and dishwasher.
Minato and Shikaku were half asleep on the couch.
"I'm going to Minato's place to get him and the baby some stuff so both of you go into the bathroom and get cleaned up. There are leftovers in the fridge if you are still hungry. I left your clothes on top of your towel Shikaku. I should be back soon so when he finishes, get in there Minato." I instructed them while making sure to grab the storage scroll before leaving.
I took to the roofs to get to Minato's apartment faster. The only reason I knew how to get there was because Kushina-sensei always did her lessons at home. That also meant that I could just walk in.
I swiftly made my way into the apartment by passing the living room and kitchen going straight to the master bedroom. I went into the closet grabbing Minato's clothes. I left the scroll unrolled on the bed and folded the clothes putting them in piles. Grabbing things from the drawer I ignored all of the woman's clothing. After getting his clothes I went into the guest bedroom turned nursery. I grabbed clothes, diapers, blankets, wipes, and diaper cream. I put all of it on the scroll. I hesitate before sealing the scroll. I went back into the nursery grabbing the two stuffed animals, the crib that was still in its box, mattress, changing table still in it's box, and the photo we took a few weeks ago with team Minato and Kushina and I. I went to the book self in the living room grabbing a couple also putting those in the pile before sealing it all up.
I made a mental note to come back tomorrow to go through the fridge before leaving quickly. I went quickly across the rooftops ignoring the blurriness in my eyes as I made my way back. When I got back I saw Shikaku freshly showered going through the fridge and I heard the shower still going. I went straight to my room unsealing everything on my bed. I put the picture in my nightstand before getting Minato's pj's and underwear. I knocked on the bathroom door before opening it glad that the shower had curtains.
"Your clothes are on the counter when you're done Minato." I say leaving the bathroom without waiting for an answer. I went back to my room putting away all of the clothes I got. The shower turned off halfway through the process and I heard the bathroom door open when I hung the last shirt.
"Where do you want the crib and changing table?" Minato's voice came from behind me.
"I would like both in here but that's too much so how about we move my knight stand to the living room and put the changing table in the living room. The crib will stay in this room. I bought some books if you want to read them later. I'm going back tomorrow to go through the fridge to bring the perishables here. If you need anything else just say so." I walk out of the closet to look at him.
He doesn't look as worn out but still tired. He looked sad but he isn't falling apart so that's good.
"Did you eat more?" I grabbed the changing table box and started moving to the living room.
"Yes I ate some of the um pie thing in the fridge." He grabbed the night stand after moving the alarm clock and picture.
"Good. What did you eat, Shikaku?" I asked the man as he put his dish in the sink.
"Something with noodles and chicken with a weird but good sauce." He replied by taking the box out of my hands.
"That's good I hope both of you feel a little better now. When you finish putting the changing table and crib together you can get some sleep in my bed. Both of you should fit and I don't want either of you to sleep on the couch. Or the futons. I'll be taking care of the babies so don't worry about it. I won't go to sleep anytime soon since it's only one in the afternoon. I'll wake you up for dinner which is at seven." I say as I move to put the books that I grabbed from the room on the shelves.
"Thank you Kaida." Minato said softly.
"Well I can't have either of you ruining the village because you're sleep deprived and hungry. Besides, you needed to give that secretary a break. You both looked like the walking dead." I say as I went to the kitchen to plan out dinner.
I freeze as my senses brush up on something. I don't move as I close my eyes and look for what tipped me first scan showed nothing but the deeper scan on the second I brushed against the thing again. I scoot back and realise that it's Naruto that tipped me off and I was really sensing the Kyuubi's Chakra. I brush against it but it didn't quite feel the same. I frown before scanning Shikaku and Shikamaru. I hold my breath as I dive a little deeper into Minato's signature. I almost pull back when I feel the same chakra that I brushed against the first two times.
'Minato's still the jinjuriki.' Crosses my mind as I open my eyes back up.
"Kaida are you okay?" Minato stood in front of me as I opened my eyes again.
"Yeah I'm fine. I just feel like I have forgotten something." I answered with a smile.
"Okay. What do you think you forgot?" He moved out of my way.
"Mm mabey something the babies need? Or something that has to do with you guys. I'm not sure but it'll come to me soon enough." I say heading into the Kitchen.

They had just finished putting the crib together. Andi I had just decided to make dumplings and a stir fry for dinner when I suddenly remembered what I had actually forgotten.
"Oh I should have sent them a note or something." I say out loud as I feel three signatures traveling quickly.
"Sent who a note?" Minato asks from his place on the couch reading his favorite book.
Before I can answer my front door is flying across the room just to stop in mid air right before it hits the playpen where the babies are.
"MINATO–SENSEI!" Three voices yell out from my front door.
"Them." I answer as Minato's three students come barreling in.
I don't look at them too long because Naruto and Shikamaru start shrieking from the loud noise. I ignore how Minato starts chewing them out and Shikaku goes to fix my door. I picked up both babies holding them while I rocked and hummed the lullaby from Promised Neverland. It took a few minutes before they calmed back down. By then Shikaku fixed my door and Minato calmed down.
"Were sorry Kaida for your door." Rin apologized.
"It's okay, besides you were worried. Next time though you need to be more careful. If Shikaku didn't stop the door the babies could have gotten hurt or worse. Then it wouldn't be me you had to worry about." I smiled as they shivered glancing at their teacher from the corner of their eyes.
"You didn't come at a good time though. Those two were just about to go to bed. Right Minato, Shikaku?" I looked at the two men.
"Well…we should probably be getting back…" Minato started only to trail off when I gave him an unimpressed look.
"She's right. Dinners at seven so come back later and knock this time." Shikaku addressed Kakashi in the last part.
'So I guess it was Kakashi that blew my door off its hinges.' The boy in question stiffened at the end of Shikaku's sentence.
Kakashi just nodded while avoiding eye contact before disappearing in a swirl of leaves.
"Bakashi! I can't believe he just ditched us!" Obito gaped at the pile of leaves left over.
"I hope you realise that if those don't go away someone needs to clean that up." I handed Shikamaru over to Shikaku so I could change Naruto.
Obito groaned before picking up the leaves.
"So what is this baby's name because I can't keep calling him the baby." I ask Minato.
"Oh it's Naruto." Minato replied having gone back to reading.
"I should have known that you would name your son after ramen." Shikaku deadpans.
"He wasn't named after ramen! In her dialect Naruto means Maelstrom." Minato counters.
"Well it's nice to meet you Naruto." I say to the little blond baby.
He opens his eyes for a second and I swear that he understood what I was saying. I brushed it off when he cooed.
