Chapter four: Unexpected Reunion

Bo sat in the corner of her cell, head in her lap, crying. An hour ago, she listened to the screams and cries of her husband as Lotso beat him. She had known of Lotso's plan, to find Woody and Rosetta, and make them pay for what happened to him. This was far from what she expected. Woody's screams had sounded like he was being killed, not tortured. They haunted Bo, echoed in the back of her mind. For years, she had wished, even prayed to see him again, but not like this. Not knowing that he was in pain. All she wanted now was to hold him and protect him. Taking a paperclip out of her dress pocket, she went over to the padlock on her cell and tried to jimmy it open. A hand grabbed hers.

"You know, if you want to stretch your legs, love, you can just ask." Jack said, smiling at her. Bo yanked her hand away.

"Get away from me." She growled.

"Bo please, I need you to hear me out, okay?"

"Why should I? You betrayed me, my trust, and everyone here at this daycare! You were their leader and you went to work for Lotso?! What the hell were thinking, Sparrow?"

"He forced me to, Bo. He threatened me, told me that he would kill every single toy here if I didn't side with him. I chose to because I wanted to protect them, and I have been. I've been checking on toys that he's injured behind his back. I swear to you, I have not hurt any of the others, and I swear I won't hurt you or your husband." Bo looked at him, glaring into his eyes. She softened a little and relaxed.

"Did he tell you anything? What is his plan? Tell me he's not actually going through with kidnapping my daughter. Tell me he won't hurt her."

"I wish I could tell you what you want to hear, dearie, I really do, but even I don't know what he intends to do to your little girl. What I do know is that he won't stop till he finds her and till he breaks your cowboy. Whatever happened at Sunnyside, he wants revenge, and he will get it by any means necessary." Bo's face sank. Jack grabbed her hand again, yet this time she didn't pull away. "I want to help you, Bo. Please tell me what you need and I'll help." Bo looked up at him and sighed.

"You want to help me? Then let me see him. She said. Let me see my husband and make sure he's alright. Please Jack."

"I can do that, but we have to be quick. No one must know." He pulled out a small key and unlocked the cell door. Opening it and taking her hand, they rushed across the room over to another cell in the corner.

"How much time can you give us?" Bo asked.

"Half an hour, maybe forty five minutes, but that's it. I can't give you anymore than that." Jack said unlocking the cage.

"Thank you." She got halfway in the cage when she saw her cowboy lying on the floor, pieces of his cloth ripped open. Around his waist was a silver cuff with a chain that was attached to one of the bars on the back of the cage. Bo staggered as she let out a breath, kneeling down beside him. She caressed his cheek and he jerked away, scaring her.

"Get away, please. I can't take it anymore." Woody said, breathlessly. He was wheezing, like he was trying to catch his breath and his eyes were closed tight. Bo closed her own eyes and bit her lip. How one toy could do something like this to a fellow toy, she'll never understand. She reached out once more, but touched his arm lightly.

"It's okay, Woody. Lotso's gone. It's just me." Woody opened his eyes and turned to look up at her.

"Bo? Is that really you?" She touched his cheek again. He felt the smooth softness of her hand and sighed. "Oh it is you. You're here." He started to get up, but cried out in agony and fell back down on his stomach. Bo moved to his other side and helped move his head onto her lap. "Ow, I'm sorry. Lotso gave me one hell of a beating."

"I know. I heard everything last night."

"You what? Oh Bo, I'm so, so sorry you had to hear that. Wait, how did you hear that? How long have you been here?" Bo chuckled lightly.

"I've been here at Rainbow hill for eight months now. I was donated and put in the blue room as a reading light for the older kids. Jack actually welcomed me here and made sure I got settled in."

"Jack, as in the pirate working with Lotso? He can't be trusted, Bo."

"Lotso tricked him and forced him to do it, Woody. Jack was the leader for all the toys here, so Lotso took advantage of that. He came here about three months ago and changed everything. Seperated the toys, weakest ones with the toddlers. He got rid of the ones who defied him and hurt the ones that stood up to him. Jack says he's been helping the injured. He's on our side, Woody, I swear to you about that." Bo sighed sadly. "He fancied me at first but then he heard from another toy who I was and my connection to you and hid me away from the others. He told me about Sunnyside and how Rosetta stood against him, how you guys escaped, and how he's been searching for you all these years. I was so afraid of what he would do to you if he ever found you, and now my fear has come true. What I heard last night shook me up so much, I just, I..." Woody sat up, struggling at first, then pulled her in for a hug.

"I'm okay, Bo. I'm alive."

"For now, but what about next time? Lotso will stop at nothing until he decides you've had enough, Woody. He is so vengeful he might actually kill you." He put his hands on her face.

"I swear to you, Bo, that no matter how hard he hits me, no matter how long he beats me, or how often the torture occurs, I will not give in. I will never surrender. I have you, Rose, and our family to think of and I will not be this close to losing any one of you ever again. Thats what will kill me, not Lotso."

"Oh how I've missed that can-do attitude of yours. It's so hot." She grabbed him by the neck and kissed him. He placed his hands on her back, pressing her closer to him, not wanting to break the kiss.

"I'm sorry to break up the moment, but I have to get Bo back. It's been almost an hour." Jack said, looking in on them. They broke apart and Woody kissed her forehead.

"I'm sorry, my love. This is not how I imagined our reunion would be." He said.

"Neither did I. But I still got to see you, despite the situation." She reached up and touched his cheek once more. "Stay alive, please."

"For you, my dear, anything." They kissed one more time and then Bo followed Jack out of the crate. The pirate locked it and they walked back to Bo's cell in silence. It was when she got inside that she turned to him.

"You were telling me the truth before, right? That you are helping toys who have been injured?" She asked.

"Yes, that was and is the truth. Jack said. I help the ones that can be saved and grieve over the ones that couldn't. I don't want to harm anyone here, Bo. I am a good pirate, one who wants peace and to help others fulfill their purpose as a toy." He placed a hand on her shoulder and she looked up at him. "I swear to you, I will do whatever I can to help you and protect your husband. And if he does find your little girl, I won't let any harm come to her."

"Thank you, Jack Sparrow." He nodded, bid her goodnight, locked her padlock, and went back to his post. Bo went back to the corner of the crate and prayed that Rosetta was safe.

*Aww Jack. He really does want to help. Also I am trying to get as many chapters and stories out. I have been so busy between both jobs and other adult stuff. I am doing a Toy story toon collection, and it will include Rosetta!*
