Eddie took a last peak in the mirror, looking back at Abuela and Christopher waving goodbye to him, then turned his focus on the road ahead of him, the road that would lead him to Buck's place.

When he got there it was quiet and Buck didn't come to the door when he knocked, he tried sending Buck a text: "Hey sleepyhead up yet?"; After a few minutes of Buck not answering he started getting impatient and worried. What if Buck couldn't come to the door or answer his phone because something had happened to him? He started fidgeting with his keys, contemplating whether or not to use the spare key to let himself in, after a few more minutes of Buck not answering the door or his phone he decided it was the best course of action and he put the key in the lock and turned. Inside it was like all sound had evaporated, like the apartment had suddenly been soundproofed, the feeling of worry that was nagging him turned back full force

"Buck" he called out tryingly, not wanting to scare the crap out of his best friend who had just survived hell and more trying to protect his kid. He walked further into the apartment in search of Buck, telling himself that Buck was probably just sleeping heavily due to being exhausted like Chimney had told him the night before, but he couldn't shove away the feeling of something being wrong. He reached the dining room and was about to head for the stairs, to the loft where he knew Buck had his sleeping quarters, when he noticed Buck sitting in one of the dining room chairs staring into space and not saying anything or moving at all. "Dude didn't you hear me knocking or calling out for you?" Eddie said, but when Buck didn't even turn his direction or made any acknowledgement that Eddie was there, Eddie's worry only grew stronger; "Buck, dude, what are you doing?" he asked concerned, but still no answer from Buck. Eddie was standing in front of Buck now, right in his line of view, still nothing, no reaction whatsoever. He waved his hand in front of Buck's face, no reaction; His worry grew, then he noticed Buck's appearance, he was still dressed in the same clothes he had been in during the tsunami, hadn't even scrubbed the dirt off; God had Maddie just left him there thinking he would be okay? Knowing Buck he had probably put up a facade and forced Maddie out the door with some lame excuse about needing rest and doing as the doctors ordered, before doing just the opposite. He noticed tears were forming in Buck's eyes and starting to move down his cheeks, whatever was going on in Buck's mind it wasn't pleasant. Eddie grabbed hold of both Buck's shoulders and started to shake him, trying to wake him up from whatever memory had him trapped; "Buck come on, come back to me. Buck", he was shaking him hard now, calling for him, yet nothing happened. Eddie stopped shaking him, just then Buck closed his eyes, and when he opened them the tears were streaming down fast, Buck instantly swept them away in an angry movement; "Buck?" Eddie asked, not hiding his relief over seeing Buck move, doing something so Buck-like as angrily sweeping away all tears and feelings; Buck jumped in the chair, not having noticed Eddie and getting startled, then he noticed who was in front of him and his facial expressions went from being startled to being completely and utterly scared to griefence and guilt

"Eddie, I'm so sorry, we were… Christopher and I, we were at the pier and…" Buck began but Eddie cut him of

"Buck it's okay, Christopher is safe" Eddie told him, holding Buck up when he started to sway.

"No he's not, I… We were on the truck, the wave started to retrieve and… Eddie I lost him, I lost Christopher, and I have searched man, I really have" Buck was sobbing hard into Eddie's chest now, with Eddie almost holding his entire body up, no help from Buck there.

"Hey it's okay, we found him, Christopher is safe" Eddie tried to sooth him; "Now why don't we get you into a nice bath and some comfy clothes before getting you to a comfy bed?" Eddie asked calmly, wanting to get Buck sorted right away starting with a bath to get all the dirt and blood off of him. Luckily the doctors had cleaned the arm they had stitched up, so they could just wrap that in some clear wrap, so as to protect the stitches. Eddie decided on a bath rather than a shower, since Buck didn't seem to have the energy for holding himself up.
