Hemera Song
Hemera's wings shot open, the demigod tumbling to the floor with the jolt. She righted herself on shaky limbs, sitting back on the bed. Words swam through her mind, but none were clear enough to make out. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. It was only a dream. She wasn't back there- back in that pit- she wasn't in pain, she was fine.
Hemera had almost succeeded in calming herself down when the entire room suddenly lurched to one side. Only her reflexes prevented her from being thrown into the opposite wall and back again as the room shook. She looked around the room wildly, searching for something, some way out. She knew exactly what was happening and she needed to get out of the room /that moment/. They had found her.
Steve Rogers
Steve barely had time to right himself before the helicarrier shook again. An alarm had started going off, they were being attacked, though by what was a mystery. He grabbed his shield, and followed the sound of the alarm to the breech, the other present avengers sans Tony doing the same.
A large opening had been blasted into the wall of the carrier, and three creatures were entering through it. The creatures themselves were hard to see, blurring between forms, here an eagle's talon, there a set of lion's jaws, like every predator, no matter the species had been blended together and shrouded in black smoke.
There wasn't much time to observe however, because the moment the creatures were inside the carrier they began to attack, slashing and biting at anything or one near them. Steve only had a moment to raise his shield before a set of claws raked through the air where his head had been only moments prior.
Steve could hear the sounds of guns being fired but none of the creatures seemed to be injured. They pressed forward, seeming intent on reaching something further inside the Helicarrier. Steve could barely avoid being knocked over as one of them rammed him aside, pushing past Avengers and SHIELD Agents alike as it tore through the carrier on a direct path to the holding cells.
