4 - Bending Practice

Sparring had been one of the first things they ever did together, that fateful day when they first met at Azula's sixteenth birthday party, and it stayed one of their favorite activities throughout their lives. When he was Ambassador to the Southern Water Tribe and suffered his first weeks-long summer night, the longest he had ever been without the sun, she coaxed him into bending and in that way helped him make it through. When they were married and both sent to Ba Sing Se as Ambassadors for their respective Nations, they used sparring as a means to feel connected to their homelands. When the twins were born, it became a way to impart their mixed and various cultures to them, and as they grew, it became a way to celebrate their family in its own right. And once the twins were off living their own lives, they began to use bending to feel close to each other again, a private dance of fire and water, separated from their homes by miles and years, but always connected to each other. Always together, always in balance.

A/N

I feel like this prompt is sort of generic, so I didn't put a whole ton of thought in. But there's a touch more backstory on what their lives look like, so you know where they were in the first chapter now! And I will be writing Azula's birthday where they meet, don't worry.

Tomorrow, I'm gonna vent a little spleen about soul mate marks, lol.

E.I. signing out.
