Chapter Three: Gohan Vs. Cell (Part Two)
"Something is wrong…" Goku said to his comrades as he watched the beam struggle between his son and Cell, his eyes narrowed in concentration.
Piccolo had heard what Goku had said, but he didn't respond because he felt about what was wrong. He could feel it deep in his heart that Gohan's power had reached its limit, and now it was going down, making the demi-Saiyan weaker by the second.
If this were to continue, everyone would see the death of a child they all had grown to care about, even Vegeta, Even if the Saiyan prince didn't want to admit it.
'I need to do something...' Piccolo thought to himself with clenched fists as he watched Gohan try in vain to summon enough energy to get stronger.
And it only made things worse because now, not only was Gohan's Super Saiyan flickered on and off; his beam was getting so overpowered that it was beginning to be swallowed up by Cell's attack.
Piccolo watched as Gohan, In a last-ditch effort to save his skin, swiftly disengaged from Cell's Galick gun and flew back as fast as he could, barely avoiding being erased by Cell's attack.
Piccolo and everyone else took a small breath of relief when they saw Gohan's remain in Super Saiyan form.
But that relief vanished when Cell smirked and vanished, only to appear directly above Gohan's backward dashing form, and that's when Cell began his vicious assault.
Gohan had tried to block and maneuver around Cell's attacks, but he couldn't and was quickly subjected, as he would call it, "The worst beating he had ever taken from anyone."
Piccolo watched in horror as Cell's fists implanted themselves against Gohan's cheeks, stomach, sides, and anywhere that mattered. After a chain of punches to the teen's chest, Cell kicked Gohan straight into the air, then flew up behind the soaring teen and wrapped his arms around the boy.
"Gohan! Get out of there!" Piccolo exclaimed.
"Shut it, Piccolo, and watch me decimate this helpless little child!" Cell yelled back, and with a quick flare of his aura, Cell twisted their bodies upside down and dashed towards it at top speed while spinning like a top.
Piccolo could hear Cell's maniacal laughter as he and the struggling Gohan plummeted down to the ground. Cell's speed increased dramatically as Gohan's screams became louder, and with a crash, the two slammed into the earth, causing the ground to explode from the brutal blow to its surface.
"Gohan!" The Z-fighters screamed out, but Piccolo quickly grew enraged, and with a charge of his energy, he bolted off like a rocket towards the destination where Gohan and Cell crashed.
Seeing this, the rest of the Z-fighters swiftly followed him to the destination, and when they arrived, all they saw was a gigantic crater with Cell standing in front of the downed and beaten Gohan.
Cell smirked at the downed Teen and slowly flew into the air and raised his hands into the air. "Well, Kiddo, it's the end!"
Piccolo watched as Cell cupped his hands together, where small bolts of lavender lighting began to flicker between his palms which then turned into a small orb of energy that grew big enough to fill up both of his hands.
Piccolo then put the orb to his side, lit it up with light blue energy, and chanted, "Galick...Ka...me...ha...me..."
Piccolo's eyes widened as Cell's energy shot out from his body, lighting cackling around him as he charged his attack. "HA!" Cell roared as he lunged his hands forward, causing a massive beam of blue and lavender energy to fly towards Gohan.
"Gohan!" Piccolo screamed as he flew into the crater to shield Gohan's downed form with his own body, his arms outstretched.
Piccolo didn't have a chance to brace himself for the moment the blast had hit him, a loud, agonizing scream left his lips while he shielded Gohan from the attack that was meant to him.
But what Piccolo didn't know was his scream had woken Gohan up to see the sight that had shocked him to his core.
"Gohan! the androids! Get out of here!" Piccolo ordered as he heard explosions from a distance coming closer to their locations in the mountains.
"But Piccolo, I can fight with you!" Gohan exclaimed in a panic, his fear of losing his last friend and sensei resounding in his voice and soul.
Piccolo shook his head and yelled, "Don't argue with me, Gohan. You need to leave now!"
"Please, Piccolo, let me help you!" Gohan screamed back.
Piccolo stared at his student for seemed like the longest of time with a sad yet stern look on his face and replied, "Gohan, as your teacher, this is your final lesson. When the androids arrive here shortly, please get as far away as you can but stay close to watch our battle. Study their movements, find a weakness, and no matter what happens, do not make yourself known."
"P-Piccolo?" Gohan questioned.
"This is my last order as your teacher and friend. Do this for me, Gohan," Piccolo gently ordered.
Gohan's energy flared into life with a slow nod before he flew to what he deemed a safe distance from the battle but close enough to see the fight.
From a safe distance, Gohan watched as the androids appeared in front of his teacher.
There were no words wasted as the two androids began their assault on Piccolo, who had fought with everything he had in his body, but Piccolo was outmatched in every way.
Gohan had to watch as the androids destroyed his sensei in their bout, and no matter how hard he tried to obey Piccolo's words, the anger he had towards the androids proved strong.
With a brutal punch to the stomach from Seventeen, Piccolo fell to his knees and dropped to the ground, seemingly unconscious.
"Man…" Seventeen started with a bored expression on his face. "I thought this would be fun, but this is buzz kill central…"
Eighteen smirked at her brother's boredom and walked up to him and said, "Well, let's finish it then so I can take a bath. His blood is like all over me."
Hearing Eighteen say this finally caused Gohan to snap. 'No! I can't lose him too!' So with a yell, Gohan flew from his hiding spot and placed his hands on his forehead, and quickly charged his energy and shouted, "Masako-Ha!"
"Masenko wha-" Eighteen was cutoff as Gohan's attack hit her hard in the chest, sending her flying backward into the mountain a few miles away, causing Seventeen's eyes to widen in surprise before smirking darkly.
"Well...It seems more entertainment has arrived," the android murmured as he cracked his knuckles, unaware that Piccolo had just regained consciousness.
"Androids, you'll pay for trying to kill Piccolo," Gohan shouted with his teeth bared and his energy whipping around him fiercely.
"G-Gohan, get o-out of here…" Piccolo told the demi-Saiyan weakly as he reached out for him.
Gohan roared in anger and charged forward towards the android, who smirked and dodged Gohan's right fist and then his left foot before the android's right fist collided into Gohan's gut, knocking the air from the Saiyan.
"Aw, was that it?" Seventeen asked with a mocking tone as Gohan slowly fell to his knees, but the male android wouldn't give him a chance to fall to the ground.
As Gohan's body descended, the android reared his leg and delivered a kick to the face that sent Gohan backward against the wall. Gohan bounced against the wall and began to fall, only for Seventeen's fist to implant itself into Gohan's stomach once again.
"Try to stay awake," Seventeen taunted before Gohan was brutally assaulted by the android fists and kicks, with each hit sapping Gohan's will and energy until the young demi-Saiyan was on the verge of unconsciousness.
Seventeen had a look of disappointment on his face as Gohan's limp body sat in the crater that was made from the severe impact of his attacks and said, "Well, I'm thoroughly annoyed. I thought I was getting a challenge. Instead, it's another dud."
The android then rubbed his neck when he realized they were both probably unconscious and walked towards the direction Eighteen was blasted to and said in a carefree tone, "Well, this has been fun but I gotta jet. I would kill you two, but that would waste any energy I would have for killing interesting peo-"
"Then let me handle that!" Seventeen held back a shiver as his sister's angry voice filled the air.
A large yellow beam flew towards him from behind. Seventeen happened to see the beam coming and screamed, "Holy shit!" as he jumped out of the way to avoid the blast.
Seeing the blast heading towards Gohan's prone form, Piccolo used every ounce of energy in his body to throw himself in front of the energy beam just as it was going to hit the demi-Saiyan.
Everything might have seemed fast for the androids when Piccolo took the hit, but for Gohan, it seemed like an eternity had passed three times over before the attack had ended.
Gohan watched as Piccolo's body lurched forward before falling right against the crater when the attack ended.
Gohan could faintly hear the mocking commentary from the androids about Piccolo's death and then them flying away to cause some havoc somewhere fun, but all he did was stare at his last friend's remains while hot tears fell from his eyes.
"P-Piccolo...?"
"...Wake up..." Gohan whispered as he stared at the deceased form of Piccolo with disbelief on his face.
Gohan reached out to Piccolo slowly as-
-he stumbled to the ground.
"You can't be g-gone..." Gohan said as he crawled to Piccolo's side and began to shake him, tears-
-falling from his eyes.
"You were all I had l-left," Gohan said as he shook Piccolo's body with more urgency. "Piccolo? Piccolo ple-"
"-ase wake up!" Gohan yelled with terror as he continued to shake the body recklessly. "Please, you can't be gone! I can't d-"
"-o this without you! I need you here with me! Please!" Gohan sobbed out in sorrow as his hands gripped Piccolo's purple Gi tightly.
Cell let out a raucous laugh as he looked down at the surprised Goku and said, "You see this, Son Goku? I have broken your boy!"
Cell started to laugh again, but he noticed something that stopped him—streams of flickering electricity streaked across Gohan's body as this undercurrent of pressure began to fill the air around them.
Gohan's aura suddenly flared to life as Gohan's rage-filled scream filled the air, causing Cell to be hit with a wave of power.
"What in the hell?" Cell whispered.
Energy whipped around Gohan fiercely as the teen roared, the ground trembling from the intense power Gohan was putting out until it began to crack and explode all around him.
Then, large beams of light exploded from the crater and into the sky above, causing the sky to darken as Gohan's power continued to rise until a giant beam of light burst from within the hole, causing the entire area to be bathed in light.
When the light faded away, and the sky returned to its blue color, Gohan stood tall, his hair longer and spikier than ever, his eyes a darker shade of teal, tears still flowing from his eyes, but these were tears of rage.
"Cell..." Gohan growled out lowly, lighting flickering in random places of his body as his eyes stared deep into Cell's, a menacing scowl on the face of the demi-Saiyan. "I will wipe your body off the face of the earth...Until not even your ashes remain..." Gohan hissed out before his body flickered out of existence.
"Where did he g-" Cell's words had gotten caught in his throat due to Gohan's fist colliding with his stomach.
Lightning flickered in front of Gohan's eyes as he looked at Cell's hunched-over form and slowly pulled his fist from the android's stomach, only to land a brutal uppercut to Cell, sending the android soaring higher into the air.
Cell recovered with a flare of energy and muttered, "T-That really hu-"
Gohan appeared above Cell without warning and delivered a hard ax-kick to the back of Cell's head, sending the monster crashing to the ground.
Cell slammed to the ground on his hands and knees, then slowly got on his feet. "T-That brat," Cell whispered harshly, only for Gohan to appear in front of him.
Alarmed, Cell dashed backward, only to feel a hard blow connect with the back of his head. Cell flew forward and went through Gohan and collide into a mountain.
Gohan landed on the ground as his afterimage faded away, his eyes focused on the now crumbling mountain.
With an enraged yell and a wave of energy, Cell flew out from the rubble and collided with Gohan, taking them both high into the air, where they began their clash.
Streaks of electricity collided against the ground with each impact, the two combatants landed against one another. Gohan swayed back to avoid Cell's left jab and delivered a kick to Cell's stomach, then followed up with two kicks to Cell's face, each blow sending Cell backward.
Cell dashed forward and attempted several jabs at Gohan, but Gohan easily swayed away from each punch before the teen delivered a brutal knee uppercut to Cell's head, sending the android's head whipping back.
Gohan then grabbed the sides of Cell's head and bought the android's face to his knee twice, each blow causing streaks of electricity to shoot down Cell's body before the teen swung his enemy around in a circle repeatedly.
Gohan launched Cell towards the ground with a yell, causing a medium-sized crater to appear around Cell when he landed. As Cell's body bounced out of the cavity, Gohan dived down and rammed his feet against Cell's stomach, causing the ground to crack then explode from the impact and the energy that burst from the crater.
When the energy and smoke cleared, Gohan stood above the battered Cell with cold and unfeeling eyes. Cell reached down and grabbed Cell's neck, and lifted him into the air.
"S-Stop…please," Cell wheezed out.
Gohan gave Cell a vicious uppercut as an answer, sending the battered android soaring into the air where he crashed to the ground in a heap, still coughing and hacking.
Gohan narrowed his eyes and flickered before Cell and kicked him in the stomach hard, sending Cell once more into the air where Gohan appeared and gave Cell an ax handle to the back, making Cell crash to the ground again.
Cell weakly got onto his feet, but Gohan had swiftly appeared before him and gave him a hard hook, making Cell's head whip to the right only for his head to whip to the left by Gohan's fist then once again to the right as the ruthless assault began.
Gohan ruthlessly rained down retribution on Cell, each hit sending blue lightning coursing through Cell's form until a final hard right to Cell's stomach made cell lurch over Gohan's shoulder, his body shaking from the intense pain.
Cell staggered backward and began to repeatedly huff as drool fell from the corners of his mouth. Moments later, the android retched, causing Android Eighteen to fall from his mouth.
Cell's body began to tremble as he began to devolve into semi-perfect form, only for Gohan's foot to collide with Cell's stomach, causing Cell to fall onto his back, where he began to heave again.
Cell then turned over onto his hands and knees and threw up again, releasing the body for Android Seventeen.
