A.N. Hey everyone, I hope everyone is having a great day! So as I mentioned in the last chapter this chapter contains a time jump. Also I will be uploading two chapters today instead of one today and one Tuesday next week. Due to the holiday, I will be working on Tuesday all-day and I am taking a vacation so I won't be back until Monday night. Have a great memorial day weekend everyone!

Chapter One

(22 months later)

Luka Couffaine sat at his desk. It was the first week of the new year. His pencil tapped against the desk as he waited for his friends to show up. He was lost in his thoughts when a pinch to his side pulled him out of it.

"Oh hey Liza when did you get here" he said looking up.

"Several minutes ago," she smirked, "wasn't that Marinette's melody?"

"Huh"

"You were tapping your pencil," Ace smirked, "I am certain that it was to Marinette's melody too"

"Oh," Luka said embarrassed, "I guess it was"

"Luka," Liza sighed sadly, "I thought you were over this"

"I thought I was too," he shrugged, "I don't know why her melody is playing in my head again,"

"Must be a good reason" Ace smiled

Luka prepared to make a not so nice comment but the teacher walked in at that moment.

"Class tomorrow we will be having a new student joining us. She has skipped a grade so she will be a bit younger than you all. I expect you all to be on your best behavior and treat her well. Luka I am placing her next to you and the principal and I would appreciate you showing her around."

"Of course" Luka smiled

"Great Okay class let's begin," she said beginning the lecture.

A few hours later Luka, Ace, and Liza sat outside eating lunch. Ace was practically yelling and Liza was laughing at him. Luka sat silently eating as he watched them with amusement. He was almost done eating when Ace went dead silent in the middle of a sentence. Luka looked up in surprise at him.

"Whatever you do, don't turn around and look towards the west door," Ace finally muttered. Which of course made Luka turn to look in that direction. He froze in shock when he realized what had made Ace freeze.

"Is that Marinette?" Liza said in surprise.

"Holy Shit!" Ace shouted, gaining the looks of nearly everyone in the area.

Marinette stood talking to the school counselor. Luka gaped in shock. She had certainly matured, her curves had filled out in all the right places. Her hair was nearly to her waist and flowing freely, the ends curling slightly with a teal color standing out. She had this graceful confident look about her that hit him in the gut. She glanced around quickly but her eyes didn't land on their table. Her melody sang out to him. It was different but still so familiar.

"Damn she looks good," Ace said, "and her new color matches yours"

"Shut up Ace!" Luka and Liza shouted, drawing attention to them once again. Luka had turned towards Ace when he shouted, and had missed Marinette looking in their direction. Ace however gave a satisfied smirk when he watched her double take as she realized who was shouting. He watched her smile and he waved before she turned back to the woman she had been talking to.

"Hey what are the chances that Marinette is the new student?" Liza asked

"That would be freaking hilarious" Ace grinned

Luka looked at the two of them and rolled his eyes. He grabbed his garbage and with a middle finger salute to Ace he left. He tossed his garbage away and headed towards his locker. He had just made it to his locker when he heard his name being called. He looked up and grimaced when he saw Alaynah. He had hoped she would take a hint and leave him alone. Thankfully before she could reach him Ace and Liza pushed past her and dragged him off to class. They had just arrived when he heard his name being said from inside the classroom. They looked at each other and shrugged before walking in.

"Luka good you are here," Mr. Strong said, "Miss Ells here would like your assistance for the period. I will get you a copy of the notes and assignments before you go"

"Okay," Luka said looking in confusion at the teacher. He grabbed a folder and handed it to Luka before ushering him and Miss Ells out of the classroom. "How can I help you today Miss Ells?"

"I am so sorry about this Luka but our new student stopped in today and we also have a transfer student coming in during this period. The principal said you had already agreed to show the new student around tomorrow but since she is here today I am hoping you can take this class period to show her around and get her familiar with the class layouts. I am really sorry to pull you out of class for this," she said

"It's fine," Luka smiled, "so who am I showing around?"

"Oh right follow me she is waiting in the office. She is a bit younger than you and has skipped a few grades but she seems brilliant and very sweet."

"Right," Luka said confused

"Okay here we go," Miss Ells smiled as they reached the office, "Luka this is…"

"Marinette," Luka said interrupting her

"Luka it's good to see you again," Marinette said

"You two know each other?" the principal asked,

"Yes," they both said

"That's great," the man smiled, "then it is a good thing we choose Luka for this. Luka thank you for agreeing to show Marinette around,"

"Of course," Luka said, "is it okay if we go?"

"Right off you go" the principal said, shooing them out of his office.
