He smiles and says, "I need to make a few stops if we are finished here. Again, I'm sorry for your loss, but give my congratulations to Robert and Mac if you want to clue him in."
Elizabeth is driving to Laura's and asks Cameron to call Nikolas for her. It goes straight to voice mail, but she leaves a message offering her condolences and to call her if he needs anything.
As Elizabeth helps Jake to the car and Cameron carries a sleeping Aiden and straps him in the back seat, boots crunch across the snow to Elizabeth's front door. He reaches around the top of the door and finds a spare key and lets himself in. He throws a bag in the coat closet and waits in the dark. He's not sure what reaction he'll get from her, but …..
Over at GH Anna claims Finn's body and checks in on Maxie. She kisses her forehead and says, "I heard what happened. Remember, you are not responsible. You did what you had to do. Mac Scorpio! Congratulations grandpa, where is Felecia?"
Mac replies, "she's on her way. I am so sorry about Finn. Did Robert tell you about Dante?"
"Only that he's in a coma at Mercy. He didn't have a lot of time to fill me in on the rest."
Mac says, "I'll let him tell you. I have to kick Spinelli out, tell him to go home and get some sleep. Felecia should be here soon." He kisses her on the cheek and watches Anna leave.
On the other side of town, a lone figure walks through the snow and heads over to docks before getting a large cup of black coffee. He doesn't run into anyone he knows, but that will have to change before he leaves town again….
The plane lands and carrying a stack of notes, scans, and pictures he walks down the steps to a waiting car. "Mercy Hospital please," he says and makes a phone call. "I'll be there in 20 minutes" Robert is waiting outside when the car pulls up.
"It's good to see you, I just wish it was under better circumstances. Now before we go inside do you have any recent pictures of my daughter and my grandchildren?"
Patrick laughs and says "here they are, now let me see my patient."
Patrick examines Dante and based on his scans he determines surgery is necessary, but Dante needs a couple of days to let the swelling go down before he can operate. He returns to Robert and asks about Anna.
Robert says, "Finn is dead and Violet's mother is nowhere to be found. Anna is going to have to break the news to this little girl, but I'm sure you know what that was like. I do think seeing you will lift her spirits. What about my daughter? Will she be joining you?"
"She will be arriving in a few days. She had to rearrange my schedule, but it pays to be married to the Chief of Staff. Since Dante's situation was more urgent, I came first. She's arranging schedules to be covered for the next week or two, and before you ask, Emma and Noah will be coming too. They can't wait to see grandma and grandpa."
Robert replies, "Anna doesn't know you are in town yet and I wasn't sure if Robin would be here. I didn't want to get her hopes up after everything she's been through. If Dante needs a couple of days, would he be well enough to be transferred to General Hospital there? Could you stay with Anna and maybe help her get through this until Robin arrives? I'll give you a ride. Also, you need to see Maxie. Robin has a new cousin."
Patrick says " Wow, Maxie? Robin will want to make it out as soon as possible. I'll fill out the necessary paperwork for Dante and then can you drop me off at Anna's?
Patrick knocks on the door as Robert drives away. Anna is exhausted and wipes a few tears from her face before she opens the door. "Patrick! You are a sight for sore eyes", she looks behind him. "Where's Robin?" Patrick explains his reason for coming out and Robin should arrive in a few days.
Anna hands Patrick a beer and she points him to the couch. "Anna, Robert told me about Finn. I am so sorry. What can I do for you?"
Anna shakes her head, "I don't know, it's all too surreal. I don't know how to tell Violet her father is never coming home."
"Anna", Patrick says, "I do have some experience in this department telling little girls about a parent's death."
"But Patrick, Robin is not dead. It's not the same."
"Anna, it is the same. You still have to have the conversation."
"Violet is asleep right now, we can discuss this in the morning. I take it you need a place to stay while you are here?"
Patrick replies, "that would be great. I'll call Robin and give her an update."
…..Elizabeth pulls into the garage and they all go inside…..
It's late and Elizabeth locks the door behind her she asks Cameron if he can put the boys to bed. She goes to the kitchen and unlocks the liquor cabinet and pours herself a drink. Behind her, she hears a familiar voice, "can you pour one for me?"
She turns around, "Oh my God! Drew! You are alive!" They rush into each other's arms!
Drew apologizes and says, "I had to stay away until I could prove Peter's guilt. I am so sorry about Franco. I wanted to show up earlier, but it wasn't safe."
"But we only found out today Peter was responsible for killing Franco and for your plane crash."
"Let's just say I have my sources, now about that drink?"
Elizabeth pours him the drink, he puts his arm around her, kisses her forehead, and tells her he's missed her. "So how much do you know? Everything or just Peter and Franco?"
"Well, I know Jason was arrested and I wanted to come back then to prove his innocence, but with Peter being alive that could have been dangerous for Scout, and anyone else I cared about."
"Do you need a place to stay? The couch is still available."
"If you don't mind, but what about your boys?"
"As long as you say it's no longer dangerous, the only thing you will need to deal with is the shock." Cameron walks into the room, "OMG! Drew! You are alive!" Elizabeth says, "like that"
They have a small family meeting and Drew catches them up.
