The whole ride home Tiana could not stop looking down at her shoes and her hand. She was in complete awe of how the boy was able to fix things in such a swift moment. She caught herself thinking about every aspect of him; his smile, his height, his voice. She tried so hard to recall seeing him in the hallways, but had no luck. Tiana let out a sigh and rested her head against the window on her way back home.

Tiana made it home around 1:30 am. She knew her mother would most likely have no concern. She opened the mahogany wood door to see her assumption was right. Her mother lay sprawled across the couch sound asleep with food and bottles everywhere. Tiana went over to her mother's side to check her breathing and make sure she was okay. After a few minutes of hovering over her mother as if she was her guardian she began to clean up and throw away every bottle in sight.

Tiana sat at the kitchen table and let out a sigh. When did her mother get like this ? She looked over to the right of her to see the same picture frame she had in her room- the family photo. A tear dropped from Tiana's eyes as she grabbed the picture frame. She missed her father dearly, and the mother she once knew when he was alive. Tiana set the frame down. She got up and fixed her mother's cover and kissed her on her head.

Up in her room, she took off her white shoes and gave them one more good look over thinking of the mystery boy. She concluded that he was just a figment of her imagination and she had too many drinks at the party. Tiana got in bed and looked out the window to see the evening star. "Almost there, almost there," she whispered to herself in a singsong voice before closing her eyes and going to sleep.
