Chapter 4: Have A Ball! Maybe Not?
-The Next Day; Guild Hall-
Despite the crazy shit happening yesterday with the frogs, I am glad we went ahead with Kazuma's group. I mean, it was a good experience and we ended up getting the Gamer Ability for myself, Yuki, and Connor as well as Kazuma. Aqua was a bit pissed off that we got a broken ability in the first place but I argued that she should've helped Kazuma instead of putting him down in the first place. Then, she wouldn't have been stuck there until we defeat the Devil King, which could honestly take years to do. This is a DEVIL KING. We can't just walk up to him and say hi and one shot him. We need all the help we can get, honestly. Well, that shut Aqua up and made Baldur laugh. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose again, trying to calm down. Well, the Gamer Mind ability is helping me calm down quicker, to say the least. Anyway, back on topic… Novella filled me in on my Prime self and his life. Apparently, I had been invited to Gamindustri for a few months thanks to realm travel by Histoire. After that, the events of the Animation played out like normal. Except… It didn't exactly go as planned. When the events of Episode 5 and 6 played out, I nearly died to Arfoire twice. Well, I did recover and get stronger thanks to Saiyan cells and Zenkai Boosts. But, what happened next sent chills up my spine. I didn't die… No. NOIRE DIED! Like, literally died for a while... That was the most shocking part of that. After her death, I went into a blind rage and unleashed the Ikari form for myself, eventually going Super Saiyan 1 and then 2. I killed Arfoire in retribution, but lost Noire for a couple months. I ended up taking the mantle of temporary CPU Maroon Heart so that Uni could prepare and become Black Heart herself. Well, around that time… Noire mysteriously came back to life and started attacking Gamindustri as and evil version of herself, Ebony Heart. She slaughtered thousands as her time as Ebony Heart and has memories of that happening. It took everything all the CPUs had and myself to stop her and bring her back to normal. Unfortunately, she had to stand trial for what she did and served a few years in jail for her crimes against Gamindustri. After that, Noire was stripped of her CPU status and I became the new CPU of Lastation, further cementing myself in that timeline. After Novella told me all this, I sat back in my chair and took a deep breath.
"Goddamn… So, does Noire still have her CPU powers?" I asked Novella and she nods her head.
"Well, she need to have them. Otherwise, she would have died of old age by now," Novella said as she took a drink from her mug of root beer. Yuki sat down next to me and pushed her black hair out of the way of her left eye.
"So, how is Noire now? Is she doing all right?" I asked Novella and she smiled at me.
"She still has nightmares about that time… But, she is still getting better. Mom is a strong woman… You love her and the others very much," Novella said as she pushed her hair to the side.
"Is it possible that she could relapse?" I asked her and she shook her head.
"She was only that way because of a curse that was put on her by an Anti Share Crystal," Novella said as she folded her arms again, "No one really knows how those crystals work, so it isn't out of the question."
"Then, what happened in Episode 1 in the cave might have been a catalyst for that," I muttered as I rubbed my chin, "I was wondering why the Animation hadn't played out like I thought it would. So, in the Prime timeline, it DID happen that way. Shit, Prime me got screwed on that."
"Yeah. I hope she can get over that experience completely," Yuki said to Novella and Novella smiled at Yuki.
"For now, I think we can safely assume that we can get a lot of good training from this, right?" I said to Novella and she raised an eyebrow, "What? You don't train?"
"I do… But, not as much as I should. Father tends to let us do our own thing," Novella told me and I scratched the back of my head, "If anything, I just train with my Saibaman, Buddy." What?
"You have a pet Saibaman? Really?" I asked her in a confused tone and she nods her head, "Okay, where is it?" She opened a pink portal next to her and a green Saibaman wearing a bandana around its neck hops out of the portal.
"More like a familiar, actually," she said and the Saibaman hops on all fours, chirping excitedly. I scratched the back of my head again and thought about this… A Saibaman as a familiar? How strong is it, anyway? If it beats me in a battle, I will be demoralized. But, This is a Saibaman from the Prime universe. So, he has to be really powerful. Right?
"Theoretically, how strong is Buddy?" I asked her and she giggled, "What?"
"Buuhan level at 50% and Jiren at 100%," she said and my jaw dropped at that. Are you kidding me?!
"So, in other words…" I said in disbelief.
"And, I am 20x stronger than him in Super Saiyan Rosé," she said plainly and I just fell out at that point. I jumped back to my feet and slammed my hand on the table, breaking it apart.
"You got to be kidding me! You have Super Saiyan Rosé, too?! How far can you take it?!" I yelled in frustration.
"Just Rosé is enough to one shot the Devil King… But, my job is to train you, not do your job," Novella said and I rubbed my face.
"I am aware… But, Damn! You have God Ki, so it makes sense that you would be extremely powerful. Does my Prime self have Ultra Instinct or something?" I asked her and she nods her head, "How?"
"He learned it from Whis," she said and I flinched at that.
"Whis?!" I said in shock. She nods her head.
"How the hell?!"
"It was kind of around the time Uzume-Senpai was pregnant with her first kid and I was about 10 and Lilac was 7. He and Beerus visited our world somehow and found Father. Beerus challenged Father to a battle and it ended in a draw. Beerus took Father away for about a few months to train him in getting Super Saiyan God… And, Father ended up passing it on to me and Lilac when we got old enough. However, my God transformation was different from Lilac and I got Rosé while she got a new transformation called Super Saiyan Lilac, a variation of her God transformation. Reminder that we are already CPUs so that ties into how we get our own God transformations." You know, that makes a whole Lotta sense. I mean, Goku Black got Rosé since he was a Kai and Goku and Vegeta have Blue since they are still mortals. And that my children are actual Gods and Goddesses, they can change what their God Transformations look like.
"Okay, so if you can choose what your God transformation look like, why did you choose Rosé?" I asked her curiously and she scratched the back of her head.
"Well, I like the color Rosé… Sue me," she said with a blush and I laughed at that. She even says Sue Me in the way that I say it.
"Yeah. You are definitely my kid," I joked and she pouted at me.
"What made you think I wasn't?" Novella asked me and I smirked at her.
"It's a joke, mini Noire…" I said and she smacked me on the arm, "Well, I do need to get Super Saiyan sooner or later… So, we should get started. First I need a little more time getting the power needed and after that I need a trigger to activate it for the first time." Then, I heard a commotion behind me and I looked back to see Kazuma's party and my party eating heartily while dirty and empty plates piled high on the table. The 2 people eating th most out of the group was Aqua and Megumin, who were eating like it was their last meal. Connor and Yunyun looked on in confusion as Darkness was drinking some tea, staying back from the others. I pinched the bridge of my nose and sighed.
" For 2 girls that are smaller than you right now, they eat double their body weight, " Baldur said and I snorted at that.
"Yeah, no shit. Well, we can get some things done for now… But, I am starving. My Saiyan genes are speaking to me," I said as I rubbed my stomach. I heard 2 stomachs growling at the same time and I glanced back at a blushing Novella as she held her stomach.
"You too? Don't be embarrassed, Novella… It's your Saiyan stomach asking for food," I told her and she looked down.
"It's not like I can help it… I eat the most out of my siblings," she said as she looked at me, "It's embarrassing!" I patted her on the head and she looked at me with a child like innocence on her face.
"Cute," I told her and we sat down at another table with Yuki sitting with us, "I think we can work something out." Several plates of food were placed in front of us and we looked up to see Connor transformed as Fourarms, handling plates of food for us.
"Tetramand? Okay, Connor," I told him with a smirk.
"Hey, it's one of the few Transformations I have that I like wholeheartedly," Connor said as he shrugged his massive shoulders. Novella hungrily dug into her food and I followed suit, finishing our food in seconds. Novella rubbed her belly and I burped out loud. Yuki just shook her head, eating her food with a smirk on her face.
"I miss being around you, James," Yuki said and I shrugged my shoulders with a goofy smirk.
"Oh, that reminds me. Novella, do any of my kids have a taste for music?" I asked her and she nods her head.
"Yeah. I do and so does most of Uzume-Senpai's kids," she said and I looked at her, "I even got a song out with 5pb., too." 5pb.? That singer from Leanbox in the Animation and Re;Birth 2? Yeah, I remember her… She traveled with the group for a while in Re;Birth 2… And, she put together a concert for Gamindustri that almost went south due to Chika hiring a washed up boy band. That was funny…
"Yeah. I know of 5pb…. From your world," I said and sat up, "It's weird that I say that since I haven't been to your world… But, I know a lot."
"Father said you would know of our world since all iterations of him does," she said as she pushed her hair out of the way of her face, "And, about the music thing… I was brought into it by Mom, actually. She would complain and sing some pop songs to me when I was young… Those songs were some of my favorite memories of her." Somehow, I can picture Noire being a caring mother… Despite being a huge Tsundere. I looked down at the table and thought about something else…
"What's wrong?"
"Your mother… She sounds amazing. I wish I had someone like her by my side always… Maybe being alone wouldn't be so bad," I said solemnly and Novella looked at me sadly and placed a hand over my hands.
"You have someone like that here… You just have to find her, Dad," Novella said and I looked up at her and smiled.
"That must be so weird for you to say, knowing I already have someone like your mother in your world," I said and she nods her head, "But… Thank you. I needed that. I'm gonna check the bu-" Then, a loud alarm scared me out of my chair and I fell to the ground. The group was startled by the sound and Novella called out her silver Rapier.
"What's going on?! What is that?!" Novella yelled in a panic as she looked around. I got back up and saw the guild lady from my first day come out to greet us. Darkness stood up and greeted the guild lady as she stopped the alarm.
"What seems to be the problem, Luna?" Darkness asked the woman and she looked at Darkness with a smile.
"It is time for our annual cabbage harvest! Everyone please head to the front gate of Axel!" Luna called to us and the other guild members. My left eye twitched and I growled in annoyance. That alarm scared me half to death and it seemed to really piss off Novella, too.
"What?! A damn cabbage harvest?! That alarm shouldn't be for a harvest!" Novella raged as she slammed her fist on a nearby table, breaking it apart.
"Ah! Novella, Calm down…" Yuki told her as she places her hands on her shoulders. Novella took a slow breath and muttered to herself as I rubbed the back of my head.
"Gotta be something about the cabbages for the alarm to ring like that…" I muttered as Aqua came up behind me, "What's with this place and cabbages?"
"Oh, I didn't mention that. My bad… Let's go to the gate and you can get a good explanation on this," Aqua said and I raised an eyebrow, following her out the door. I looked back at the group and motioned for them to follow me.
-Scene Skip; Axel Front Gate; Several Minutes Later-
We made it to the front gate, where Luna was waiting with most of the guild waiting as well. I looked around at the looks of anticipation on everyone's faces as they waited for something to happen. Luna stepped to the front of the group and turned to face us.
"Thank you all for coming on such short notice! As you know, this is the annual cabbage harvest that our town experiences every year! Each cabbage you catch will be worth 10000 Eris Coins. All the residents have been evacuated, so there will be no cause for concern for them! Please exceed the upmost caution when dealing with the cabbages, since they're extremely hostile!" Luna said to the guild members and I just stood there with a confused look on my face. What kind of cabbages are these? Connor and Yuki glanced at me as Kazuma just had a stupefied look on his face.
"Uhh… I am almost afraid to ask," Connor said as he leaned next to me.
"There has to be a gimmick to all this…" I said and suddenly… A low beep was heard from my watch. I looked down and saw an envelope icon next to the Quest icon. I brought up my watch and clicked on it. A screen pops up, showing a Quest that just appeared for us.
Main Story Quest: Dark Taste!
Quest Description: Looks like this is the annual Cabbage Harvest for the beginner town, Axel. But, something has appeared to disrupt the festival. Drive the evil force away and let the festivities commence with no interruptions!

Well, this is new… Clearly, This is pretty important. But, it seems that this Quest wants us to tackle this as a team… My team, however. We need to make sure we don't screw this up. I glanced at Kazuma, who was looking at my watch screen.
"A Quest?" Kazuma asked me and I nodded my head. I accepted the Quest and another appeared out of nowhere. I reeled back in shock as this one pops up.

I looked at Kazuma, who had a serious look on his face as he gripped rhe handle of his sword. He knew what to do, I could tell. I accepted the Quest and the screen went away. My team moved through the crowd as Kazuma's group hung back with Kazuma telling Aqua and Megumin what was going on. Hopefully, Aqua can take the hint and stay out of this battle. Suddenly, there were flying cabbages coming towards the village! Ohh… That's probably why the town was on high alert. You know, they should've put something up in town somewhere to forewarn tourists about this. Whatever, I guess. The rookie Adventurers raced past us as we stood back, waiting for the big boss to come out.
"What are you guys doing, hanging back? Aren't you gonna participate?" Luna asked us and I looked over at her.
"Sorry, but not really. Our target is something bigger…" I told her and my Ki Sense picked up a sizable power level coming in pretty fast to our location. Then, a black mass was racing down from the sky. The Adventurers looked up at the darkened sky and began to panic. They began to run around in a frenzy, panicking. Novella pulls out her Rapier and shot her free right hand forward, a white glyph appearing in front of her hand.
" Ice Configuration #1: Glacier Shield! " Novella called as a large glyph appeared several miles above the Adventurers. They and the flying cabbages stopped racing around to look up to see that the large black mass falling from the sky had stopped. It collides with the shield and stops completely. Kazuma's group ran past us to warn the Adventurers.
"Everyone, get back! It's dangerous!" Kazuma called to the Adventurers as he started ushering the people away. I flew up to the glyph, activating Ultimate form and Connor turned on his Ultimatrix to change into Spidermonkey and shot some webs at my leg from his tail. I reached down to grab the webbing and pull it up to launch Spidermonkey up past me. He hits his Ultimatrix again on his chest and changed into… Atomix?! Whoa, that's not part of the Ultimatrix officially! You know, I should've guessed that Connor asked for features from Omniverse, too. Atomix punched the glyph and broke it apart, sending the black mass down to the ground several miles away from the town. He flew down to where the others were and picked them up, carrying them in his arms and on his back as I flew ahead to where the black mass was knocked down. We had flew for a bit until we stopped where the black mass had crashed and saw a large portion of the forest had been uprooted by the black mass. The black mass had been emitting black smoke all around its body as it seemed to stand up, towering over us. I flinched at its size as it let out a massive roar, blowing the black smoke away from its body. It was a humongous minotaur with a large battle axe hanging over its left shoulder. I brought up my screen to scan the minotaur and show me its level.

Yikes, this sounds nasty. What is Darkening? Sounds weird… Wait, does it work the way I expect? Well, I don't wanna find out…
"Novella, Connor: Back me up on Aerial Support! Yuki, Darkness: Hack away as much as you can! Yunyun, you're our magic support! Heal and defend as much as you possibly can! Got it?!" I ordered and they agreed. I switched out the Power Pole as a Primary Weapon and equipped the Bankai Soul Reaper Outfit with the Bankai sword as a Primary Weapon and Tapion's Sword as a Secondary Weapon.
"All right, team! Let's go!" I called as I brought up some BGM.

Mezuki roared again and swung his axe at me, which I parried with some difficulty. That was powerful on its own… I better be careful. Using Flash Step, I began phasing in and out of Mezuki's eyesight. Connor as Atomix fired off several beams of nuclear energy at the Devil King General, doing some good damage to it. It roared and smacked Connor away as Yuki activated her Oni form to slide in between its large legs, slicing away at its ankles. Darkness followed her example, cutting away at the ankles. Mezuki kicks them away effortlessly, knocking them into some trees. Yunyun shot off several large scale lightning bolts from her staff, catching the beast off guard just enough for me to reappear in front of his face and hold my sword above my head.
" GETSUGA TENSHO!" I roared as my blade ignited into black flames and I delivered a large scale black flame Slash that dug into Mezuki's chest, causing it to bleat in pain and rage. It swats me into the ground and I bounced off the ground, hitting it pretty hard. I laid there as I coughed up blood. Novella charged at Mezuki while surrounded in a golden aura and her hair was slightly spiky and yellow. She delivered a hard punch to its face, knocking it away from me as I tried to get up.
"Damn it… That hurt a lot more than I expected," I muttered as blood trickles down my chin. I looked back and saw Darkness and Yuki pull themselves out of the rubble, slightly dazed.
"Oww… Okay, that I did not enjoy," Darkness said seriously as she shook her head. I chuckled and got back to my feet slowly.
"Man, that level difference is mattering right now, am I right?" I said as Connor flew back up to help Novella, "Hate to say it, but I don't know how I can help much without being swatted away like a fly. This is much different than I expected."
"Yeah, well… We can't give up this easily. We knew this wouldn't be as easy as we anticipated," Yuki said as her wounds started healing, "So, don't get all misty eyed on me, James." She tossed me a Senzu Bean and I took it, eating it and healing my wounds, also granting me a medium sized Zenkai. I flashed back on my Ultimate Form and flew up to help Connor and Yuki. I brought my hands up to my forehead and shot them forward while my hands were coated in a bright yellow aura.
" Haaaa! MASENKO! " I yelled as I fired off a vast Explosive Masenko at Mezuki, knocking him quite a ways back.
"Atomix, Fire off your best attack! We need to put him in the dirt, quickly!" I yelled to Connor and he nods his head at me. He held up his left hand and a small orb of Bright orange energy appeared in his hand. It began to Blaze with extremely hot flames as it charged in his hand. Mezuki got back to his feet and charged at Atomix full speed. Novella got in his pathway and held what looked like a blood tendril in her left arm.
" Blood Ties: Constrict!" Novella called as she shot the blood tendril at Mezuki and held him in place. It roared in rage as it tried to break free.
"Any time, Connor! I can only hold him for so long!"
"Just… A few more seconds," Atomix called as he held the mini sun in his hand. I had to fly over to Mezuki and hold my hands in front of me, coating them in a red aura.
"Here goes… God Bind! " I called and brought my hands in front of Mezuki's face, coating his whole body in the red aura from my hands. I grunted under the pressure of holding Mezuki with the God Bind as Novella struggled to hold Mezuki with her blood tendril.
"Finished! Get out of the way! Cruel Sun! " Atomix called as he flung the mini sun at Mezuki. I flew above the mini sun as it grew in size while it raced at the Devil King General. It collided with Mezuki and it began to burn Mezuki's body heavily. Mezuki bleats in rage and agony as its body burned. Novella calls back her blood tendril and I released Mezuki from God Bind. We watched the bastard burn as I hovered back over to Novella. I smirked as I pat her on the shoulder while Connor flew over to us.
"Where did you learn that attack?" I asked her and she rubbed the back of her head.
"Your Prime version gave it to me since it is a bloodline exclusive technique. He also said it could be learned by his other iterations through other means which makes them unique in their own way," Novella said and stopped as she looked behind me. I looked back and saw Mezuki swinging its axe at me at us. I shoved Novella out of the way and pulled out both Tapion's Sword and the Bankai Sword to intercept the attack. The axe collides with my weapons and stopped it from hitting me… But, the amount of force Mezuki put into his attack forced me to get launched into the ground full force again. The bastard was still kicking and he delivered such a big hit to me. I flew into the ground hard again, creating a huge crater in the ground. As soon as I hit the ground, I blacked out.
-Scene Skip; Mindspace-
I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in a vast white room and I was alone… I sat up and rubbed my head. What happened? Oh, yeah… Mezuki knocked me clean out. Shit, I hope the others can handle Mezuki. Meanwhile, what am I supposed to do? Mezuki is way stronger than I thought. I greatly underestimated his strength, that's for sure. Is this how the Z Fighters felt when they fought Frieza? Man, how are we supposed to fight this thing if he keeps getting back up?
Sounds like you are in a pickle, huh?
What? Was that… Me? I looked back and saw my Prime self in an apparition. I sighed and looked at him.
"Yeah, I kinda am. I don't know what to do," I told him as I looked down, "This is the first really battle I have had in a while since that orc at the beginning of my journey," I said as I rubbed the back of my head.
"Well, there is always something stronger than you in the world. Doesn't mean you give up and throw in the towel, " Baldur called as a silhouette of a large dragon appeared behind my Prime self.
"But, what do I do?! I mean, I can't just overpower him! He will just shrug it off!" I said in a panic as I shook my head.
Listen, little me… There is a time and place for worrying. But, unfortunately… You can't do that right now. Take a look.
He brought up a vision that I looked into and I looked in horror. My whole team was down except Yunyun, who was trying her hardest to protect them with a large magic barrier. The barrier was breaking with each of Mezuki's attacks. She had a terrified and determined look on her face as she held strong. Darkness got back to her feet slowly and held her bleeding head while looking at Yunyun. I couldn't make out what they were saying, but… I could read lips quite well. Darkness was telling her to keep the barrier up and ran out of the barriers range to try and distract Mezuki. Mezuki glared at Darkness and began to go after her as Yunyun began healing the party. Darkness could only hold out for so long, though. I looked down and gripped my fists. I feel so useless…
Good, know that pain. Let it fuel you. You have the power, but not the trigger. You need it to get stronger than you were before. Isn't that what you need to become a Super Saiyan?
"They're losing… Because I am weak. I can't lose them again… I can't…" I said as my body felt like it was catching fire. No, it was more like I was a raging Inferno of power. A yellow aura surrounded me as I looked back up at the vision and saw Darkness hit a tree and slide down, clearly not enjoying herself or the pain she was enduring. Mezuki grabs her in his free hand and began to squeeze her tightly. I could hear her screams in my head… And, that broke something in me. I heard an audible SNAP and my vision became bright yellow.
Good… Use this power to topple all evil in your path. Become the protector you are destined to be. Go forth, Naoko!

Where my body was laying, a golden pillar of light shot up into the sky… Followed by lightning surrounding the golden pillar. I shot up out of the Pillars, surrounded in the Blazing fiery golden aura of Super Saiyan and my hair sticking up. Thanks to Gamer Mind, I had my sanity still but I was still royally pissed off. Darkness was still in Mezuki's hand as Mezuki growled at me.
"You release her, now… Or you will regret it for the rest of your short life," I threatened in a eerily calm tone. Mezuki threw Darkness and I raced after her and caught her quickly in midair. Darkness looked up at me weakly as she coughed up blood. That made me more angry as I felt my power increase. I slowly hovered over to my friends and placed Darkness on the ground. Her armor was cracked in several places and her left arm looked like it was broken. A shadow went over my eyes as I turned away from her.
"James… What happened to you?" Darkness asked me softly and I looked back at her slightly.
"I broke my limits… I wish it happened a little sooner. I'm sorry you had to fight alone… But, let me handle the rest. I promise… Novella, back me up,"I said calmly as I looked forward. Novella nods her head and stood up as well, taking a Senzu Bean and eating it. She got a Zenkai Boost from it and cracked her neck, going Super Saiyan as well as a green aura surrounding her. That looked like Broly's aura, almost… No. It was like the Wrathful state Broly underwent during his battle with God Vegeta and Goku. Suddenly, the BGM changed to a boss battle-esque song that I have never heard before.
-Change To Frip By Human Design-
"I'll explain later. Just know that we will end this together, Dad…" Novella told me and I nodded my head. I looked ahead and gritted my teeth, my rage building up inside of me. I floated above the ground as my aura explodes around me. I took off at Full speed at Mezuki, coating my hands in a blue aura.
" You hurt my team! I will be the one to kill you! COSMIC STARFALL! " I screamed in rage as I shot my hands forward, firing off large blue Ki arrows at Mezuki and piercing his skin. He screeched in pain as he fell back, actually feeling pain from that attack. Novella charged past me with her arm coated in green Ki.
" Giant Crash! " Novella yelled as she smashed her fist into Mezuki's face, breaking his nose. Black blood shot out of his broken nose as he crashed to the ground. I held out my left hand in front of me in a Stop position and a blue Ki orb appeared in the middle of it.
" Taste my BIG BANG ATTACK! " I roared as I shot the orb at him and it grew in size as it raced at Mezuki. It collides with Mezuki's chest and blew him deeper into the ground. Mezuki roared in pain as the Ki attack explodes on contact with his body. I brought my hands together to create a fireball in my hands.
"Novella, you got any attacks that can pierce his skin?! I can burn this fucker from the inside out!" I yelled to her and she bit her thumb hard. A blood tendril grew from the bite.
"I do! Stand back! Blood Ties: Skewer! " Novella yelled and the blood tendril shot off hundreds of 20 foot blood needles at Mezuki. I moved out of the way and Mezuki was pinned to the ground by the blood needles.
"Good work! Now, to finish this monster!" I called as I held the finished large Ki laced fireball in my hands.
" Wait. Let me enhance the fire… Allow me," Baldur said and the orange fireball turned black, " Now, you can shoot it. Say it with me!"
"Roger that, Baldur!" I called and raised the fireball above me.
" With this hellfire, I will send you back to your maker! Begone, spawn of the Devil King! SINFUL SUNRAZE BURST! " I called over Baldur's voice and the fireball was launched downwards into Mezuki and exploded into multiple smaller fireballs that went into the puncture points. When the fireball touched the puncture points, the fireballs exploded into Pillars of black and orange fire and Mezuki screamed in pain and agony. I flew back down to Mezuki's body and landed on his chest, where a puncture hole was and a pillar of orange and black fire was sprouting out of. I held my left hand above me and a small rainbow orb of Ki was hovering above my hand.
" May your soul be forever damned to oblivion and beyond… SOUL PUNISHER! " I grabbed the orb as it shrunk into my hand and became dust in my hand. As the pillar of fire disappeared, I shoved my hand into the hole in his chest and released the attack into his chest. Nothing seemed to happen and Novella hovered down to about 20 feet above me.
"What happened? Was it a dud?" Novella asked me and I shook my head no.
"Give it a sec…" I said as Mezuki tried to get up… Only to scream in agony as its body began evaporating with rainbow dust covering its body. When his body disappeared completely, I turned away and spat blood onto the ground.
"Good riddance. You Good, Novella?"
"Yeah, I'm okay… A little winded, but I'm good," Novella said as she reverts back to normal, "What about you? This is your first Super Saiyan transformation and you looked a little pissed off."
"Well, the Gamer Mind is controlling my emotions… So, I am still hanging in there. Ugh, I feel like shit for accessing Super Saiyan at a pretty bad point. Darkness was almost killed…" I said as I looked down. Novella hovers down in front of me and hugged me.
"If you hadn't, she would've definitely died today. Don't beat yourself up over a possible bad scenario. She made it because of you," Novella told me and I smiled at her as she lets me go, "Go to her. I am sure she is getting healed up as we speak." I sighed as I went back to normal and flew over to the group. They were recuperating and looked ready to continue fighting.
"It's okay. Mezuki is dead, thank God. But, he roughed us up way more than I thought… Which tells us this won't be as simple as we thought," I said to my team.
- End BGM-
"No shit. Are you okay, though? You took a nasty hit there…" Yuki said and I nodded my head while holding my side.
"Just a bruise. It's fine," I said as I sat on the ground. Darkness was up and about, well almost at 100%. She came over to me and hugged me tightly. This was out of character…
"I'm so glad… I thought we lost you there for a second!" Darkness said as tears streamed down her cheeks. I hugged her back and smiled as I pet her hair softly.
"I'm sorry… I should be more careful next time, huh? I was more worried about you," I told her and she sniffles as she lets me out of the hug, "I thought…" She then kisses me on the lips! I reeled back and stopped halfway as I kissed her back.
"About damn time, geez!" Connor teased as we held the kiss for a few seconds and pulled apart. Both of us blushed and looked at each other.
"That was… My…" I said softly and Darkness blushed while giggling.
"Same here, Jamie…" Darkness said sweetly. How could she go from crying to giggling in an instant? Ah, whatever… It was fucking cute. Then, out of nowhere… My Quest Screen appeared out of nowhere and startled me. I pulled it up and checked it out.

Excuse me?! THAT WAS THE BONUS OBJECTIVE?! I swear my Prime self if fucking with me right now… I swear I want to cuss that bastard out. Here I was, about to commend him on holding something together like having multiple wives, and he pulls that out for me to see.
"I hate myself," I said out loud as I shook my head. Novella looked at the screen and growled.
"DAAAAAAD!" Novella screamed as she punched the screen, "YOU ARE SO DEAD WHEN I GET HOME!"
"I hope that doesn't get implications down the line…" I muttered as I rubbed the back of my head, "Well, that bonus reward sounds enticing." A new screen pops up and there was a list of names lined up on the screen. On top of the screen was the header, Available Summons. Okay, so it looked like these were the available Summons.

Hmm… Solid choices, all around. Well, I better let the others go first.
"Well, I'd rather you guys go first. Who you picking?" I told the others as I showed them the list, "To the girls, I can briefly explain your choices when you get to them."
"Then, let me go first," Yuki said as she looked at my screen fully, "Hmm… Well, the only real choice I have is… This one." She chose the Female Humanoid Charizard and a voluptuous woman with fiery red hair and a long red tail with an orange flame on the end of her tail stood in front of Yuki. She also wore a red sleeveless t shirt with a cleavage point at the base of the shirt under an orange zip up hoodie, Light orange leggings, and red sneakers. She knelt in front of Yuki and breathed out a small flame to Yuki.
"I am at your service, milady," she said and Yuki blushed at that.
"Oh, you don't need to do that… Umm… Do you have a name?" Yuki asked her and Charizard shook her head no.
"I am only known by my species name, milady," Yuki said and Yuki looked at me. Well, she weirdly sounds like Erza… So…
"Well, I got a good name for her. Why not call her Scarlet?" I told her and Yuki nods her head.
"Okay, you will be named Scarlet from now on," Yuki said as she pats Scarlet on the shoulder. Scarlet blushed and stood up straight.
"I will lend you my aide however you see fit, milady," Scarlet said and Yuki blushed again.
"Just Yuki is fine, thank you," Yuki said and I smiled at her. Scarlet stuck at Yuki's side as a ring appeared on Yuki's left ring finger.
"Can I go next? This seems interesting," Darkness said earnestly and I nodded my head, "What do you recommend for me?" What do I recommend for her? Huh… Well, looking at the choices… Hmm, I honestly don't know. I mean, Miyabi would seem like a strong choice, since she has Ryona and Ryobi in her ranks… Then again, there is Kagura, who would be a good partner that can help Darkness with her swordsmanship. Then, there is Rukia with her Soul Reaper abilities… Dah! This is a hard one… Hmm… I got it.
"Why not take this one?" I told her and pointed to… Kagura's name, "She may take a little getting used to, being a little cold to anyone but her companions, but she will warm up to you. Besides, she is an amazing swordsman in her world, not drawing her sword and creating a sword style called Unsheathing style. That can help you get better at sword fighting." That and Kagura would get along with Darkness just fine.
"Okay. I trust you," Darkness said as she held my hand. She pressed in Kagura's name, and the Mermaid Heel swordsman appeared in front of me and Darkness. She bowed to us and looked up at us after a few seconds of silence.
"What is your command?" Kagura asked us.
"Well, she is your master. So, you should be asking her that," I told her and Kagura looked at Darkness.
"Mistress, I await your next command," Kagura said calmly and Darkness blushed at that.
"Umm… Well, I don't have one yet?" she said, "This is my first Summon."
"Understandable. I will await your next command," Kagura said and stood at Darkness' side as a ring appeared above Darkness and went under her armor glove.
"You're next, Yunyun… I don't need one since I already have one," Novella said as she pats Yunyun on the back. Yunyun looked a bit nervous as she looked at the list. Both Kagura and Charizard's names were grayed out, so we can't choose them again. No repeats, got it. She looked at the list fully and took a little bit to choose. Not like she knew what she was getting, but she wanted to be sure she didn't get a bad one. Well, there wasn't really a bad choice on this list… Not that I knew of. She decided and pressed on… Dark Magician Girl's name. Aww! Damn, I wanted Dark Magician Girl! Ah well, like I would benefit from using her powers correctly. Yunyun made a great choice. The student to Dark Magician appeared in front of Yunyun and curtsies to her with a very cute smile.
"Hello, madam. I am at your service… You may name me however you like," Dark Magician Girl said cutely and I chuckled at that. She sounded just like Nepgear, wow! I was hoping she'd sound like her VA from Bonds Beyond Time.
"I've never been called Madam before… This is quite a change. Hmm… Connor, what should I call her?" Yunyun asked Connor as he was looking though his Ultimatrix. Something had got him on edge for some reason. I will ask him later… Hopefully, it's nothing.
"Hmm? Oh, sorry. A name? Hmm… She seems as pure as water, so why not name her Crystal or Crys for short?" Connor said and Yunyun claps her hands excitedly at the name.
"Yes, that's perfect!" Yunyun said as she hops up and down and then turns to Dark Magician Girl, "You shall be called Crystal!" Crystal fixes her hat on her head and giggles.
"I like it! A cute name for a cutie like me!" Crystal said with a slight blush on her cheeks.
"Hey, Connor. You're up," I said as Crystal hovers over to Yunyun's side. Connor looked at the screen and stopped to look at me.
"Something wrong, bro?"
"It's… Complicated. My watch went into Recalibration mode. Look," he said and the light on the Ultimatrix was purple, signaling that it was indeed in Recalibration mode.
"Has it done that before?" I asked him and he shook his head no.
"Not that I know of. I remember this color when the Omnitrix did it in the beginning of Alien Force, so I do know it is recalibrating. But, for what reason?" Connor asked me.
"Have you ever used Atomix before?" I asked him and he shook his head no, "Maybe it is trying to reconfigure or something…" Then, all of a sudden… The Ultimatrix's light disappeared and it began morphing into Connor's arm.
"Whoa!" I called as part of the Ultimatrix began crawling up Connor's arm and across his body to his other forearm. The rest of the Ultimatrix had morphed into a sleeker design like an armband on his wrist while the their part did the same. Did… Did this thing just morph from an Ultimatrix to a Biomnitrix?! Literally, that should not even be possible!
"What just happened?!" Connor asked in horror as he looked at his new Biomnitrix.
"Jesus, Connor… I think that thing might have a mind of its own. It evolved or something! But why now?" I asked in confusion as I touched the new Biomnitrix.
"I don't know! Shouldn't it have done that before we went into battle?! I mean it went into Recalibration mode right at a pivotal moment in battle! We nearly lost because of this thing!" Connor said in annoyance. Ohh… So, that's why they were knocked down. Well, that's bad luck…
"Wait, then how did… Never mind. The watch is weird, we know this," I said simply and looked at it, "It looks like it rewrote its data… And became a new type of Omnitrix. Can you try and access any of your aliens you have?" He tried tapping on his wrist and nothing happened. Just like I figured… It has to work the way Ben 10000 did it in Omniverse.
"Nothing. Did it break?" Connor said and I tilted my head, trying to remember how Ben 10000 used his Biomnitrix.
"Okay, how about this Connor: Call out the alien you want and hold out your left arm," I told him and he looked at me, "Trust me."
"Okay… Big Chill!" Connor called and he transformed into Big Chill, "Whoa… How'd you know that would work?"
"Actually, I didn't. But, it looks a lot like Ben 10000's Biomnitrix from Omniverse. So, that means you can possibly fuse aliens together," I told him and he tilts his head to the side.
"Oh, Omniverse? I only saw up to Season 1, honestly," Connor said and I raised an eyebrow.
"So, that means when you used Atomix, it was like Instinct that you knew how to use him," I said as I rubbed my chin, "Like the knowledge was built inside of you." Big Chill began to rub his chin as he thought about it.
"Okay. We can test this out when we have time," Connor told me and I nodded my head, "So, what is this about again?" I told him what was happening and he looked at the Summons everyone had so far except me and him.
"Okay, then. Let's see… Hmm…" He looked over the list and pressed on… Rias Gremory's name. Oh, really? That's an interesting one for Connor. The Princess of Destruction appeared in front of Connor and stared at him for a few seconds before walking up to him and kissing him on the lips! Whoa, what the hell?!
"Huh?!" Yunyun called in shock as Connor fell back on his ass, staring at. The devil, "Excuse me, what just happened?!"
"Apologies… But, I wanted to test his mettle. And, I wanted to mess with him a bit," Rias said seductively and Yunyun blushed heavily as she glared at Rias. Connor stood up and touched his lips, clearly confused on what just happened.
"That was… My first kiss," Connor said softly as he slowly glanced at Yunyun, who uncharacteristically growled at Rias.
"Clearly, someone's jealous," Yuki teased and Yunyun shot her a glare, "Chill, girl. It's not that bad." I scratched the back of my head as I feel kinda at blame at that happening. Rias giggled and moved her hair out of the way. Thank God I didn't choose Rias… I don't honestly know what Darkness would do to me.
"My Master, I will serve your every wish… Anything… You… Want," Rias said in a teasing tone as she moved her breasts up to his chest. His face lit up red like a tomato, making Yunyun move towards them and try to pry Rias off of Connor.
"He is mine, sister! Back off!" Yunyun said as she stood in front of Connor, "Gah!" She had a deep shade of red on her face as she realized what she did. Well, that was honestly… Cute. I glanced at Darkness and she had a look of envy on her face.
"You're thinking I am gonna replace you, aren't you?" I told Darkness and she blushed as she looked away, "Not gonna happen. You are my #1." She smiled and kissed me on the cheek.
"Yunyun, why are you acting like that? I'm so confused…" Connor said and I flinched at that. Oh, no… Is Connor gonna suffer from Dense Anime Protagonist Syndrome? No, I am not having that!
"Connor, she is in love with you," I told him and he blinked at me in shock "What? Are you seriously telling me that you didn't know?"
"No! I was thinking her feelings for me was strictly platonic!" Connor said and I fell over at that and Yunyun stepped back in shock.
"W-what? W-wait, you… You don't feel the same?" Yunyun said in horror as she stared at him. I stood up and slapped my forehead.
"Connor, you just opened up a can of worms," I said sadly as I stepped back "I pray for your happiness…"
"Poor sap," Kagura said as she folded her arms, "I call dibs on hitting him."
"Why am I the bad guy here?!" Connor blushed as he looked at us.
"Connor, let me tell you something about love: When you think you know everything, you don't know anything," I told him as Yunyun looked down. She then teleports away.
"Yunyun, wa- Shit! I fucked up, didn't I?" Connor said in a panic. Rias looked off to the side and cleared her throat.
"I apologize for that. I didn't think you would be in a relationship already," Rias said and Connor shot her a glare and muttered to himself, "We had better apologize to her."
"Who's we?!" Connor asked her and I smacked him in the back of the head, "Oww!"
"You, dimwit! Look, I know you thought you knew her feelings, but ask first beforehand!" I told him and he sighed while rubbing the back of his head, "Man, I forgot how dense you can be… Novella, be a dear and take Connor back into town. Yuki, go with them. I will hang back with Darkness and get my familiar."
"Okay, Dad," Novella said and pulled Connor by his ear, "Baka Connor…"
"I'm sorry! Oww!" Connor called as Novella pulled Connor away and Yuki followed behind them while shaking her head.
"Well, that was a thing…" Darkness said as we were alone in the ruined forest. I sighed and shook my head.
"I was honestly not expecting any of that…" I told her and she chuckled while looking back at the screen. I then pressed on… Tamaki's name. What? I love Tamaki from Fire Force. It was a toss up between Histoire and Tamaki. Sue me… Then, the ex-priestess appeared in front of me and she looked at me.
"Where am I? This place is weird…" she said while she looked around at the ruined forest, "Are you my new Master?"
"That is correct… My name is James. Nice to meet you, Tamaki," I told her and she bows to me. She then… Loses her shirt. She gasped and blushed as she covers her bra. Damn it, that is the only thing I would change about her. Why did that have to carry over here? I groaned and picked up her shirt, handing her back the shirt.
"You really need to get a handle on that, girl. Is it possible to do that?" I asked her and she blushed while shaking her head no, "I am so gonna get that under control." I also realized something. I closed out of the Available Summons menu and checked my Skills. I learned the Spirit Bomb… Well, the small version that Goku used in the Saiyan Saga. I just then got an idea…
"Something wrong, James?" Darkness asked me as Tamaki stared at the screen.
"I am just remembering something. I will have to go back into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber tomorrow… I may have figured something out," I said as I looked at Darkness, "I will be going by myself, mind you. Can you handle things with the group while I am gone? I will have to consult Eris on upping the time dilation, too."
"What are you planning?" Darkness asked me and I turned to her completely.
"I have figured out a couple new techniques… And, if I can master it… We will be having an easier time against other Devil King Generals," I said to her.
"Really?" she asked me in surprise, "Well, hopefully this can go better when we face the next enemy." I nodded my head and fell to one knee all of a sudden. I was drained from using Super Saiyan and a lot of Ki at once. I sighed as I wiped the sweat from my forehead.
"Are you okay?" Darkness asked me and I chuckled as I stood back up.
"Sorry… I guess I used a little too much power," I told her as I wiped the sweat from my chin. Darkness picked me up and slung my arm over her shoulder as I swiped my screen away.
"I gotcha, Jamie…" Darkness said sweetly and I chuckled at that.
"Thanks… Lalatina," I said teasingly and she blushed at that, punching me on the gut, "Urk! Sorry!"
"Do not use my real name so casually! I am not prepared for it…" Darkness said bashfully and I chuckled weakly at that.
"My mistake…" I said and we walked off with our familiars following close behind.
"Is this what we have to get used to?" Kagura said as she looked at us.
"I guess so. But, it seems like fun," Tamaki smiled as she looked at Kagura. You have no idea how right and wrong you are… Trust me.

-And, HOLY SHIT! There is a lot to cover here this time around. Let me start from the beginning. Novella and her character is based off of Noire and myself combined, so expect a bit of a combination of that Noire charm and my smart smartassery to come around every now and again. Also, she has the Gamer Ability on her so she will get a special flashback chapter on the history of the Prime timeline later down the line on how she got it. Next, my Super Saiyan form. Yes, I got it a bit earlier than expected. I wanted it to appear during the battle with Beldia, but I have a plan for that fight instead. Okay, the next is an elephant in the room situation: the Biomnitrix Recalibration. Look, I know it doesn't happen like that, but bear with me for a second. I know Azmuth created the Omnitrix and all… But, I do not know how he created the Biomnitrix. So, I took a little liberty and say that the Ultimatrix morphed into it after Atomix was used. However, since Atomix was part of the new and improved Omnitrix's lineup, I had to take a shot in the dark here. But, James… Isn't this Ultimatrix a gift from the gods instead of something Azmuth made? Yes, and that is why I am saying this Ultimatrix is different. Look, I can discuss this more into detail… But, I would be repeating myself. Let's skip past it and go on to the next topic: Familiars. I planned for the party to have Familiars, but I just wasn't sure who got what. I think I am okay with the choices for now… Only one I am not okay with is Connor. Rias was a cop out, honestly… And, I will figure out what to do from there. But, Rias will stay. Now, why are they Familiars? Let's just say… These aren't the Prime versions of these characters. Well, for Scarlet… She is an actual Moemon. These are proxies of the original characters, so they have no effect on their worlds and timelines. Now, let's talk about Mezuki for a second. He is actually not a General of the Devil King… Well, in this story he is. Instead, he is actually based on a Nioh 2 boss. One of the earlier bosses, in fact. I will be taking into account some bosses from the Souls series and Nioh series as some of the underlings and Generals for the Devil King. This idea came to me when I was playing through Nioh 2 for the first time. Again, it is my first Firm Software game, so I got my ass handed to me several times before I stopped and figured out how to beat him. And, I am using Yuki as my character for the game. Now, the next chapter will have another semi time Skip, since some time had passed in canon from the Cabbage Harvest and Beldia's battle. I think 1 month or 2, I can't remember… But, for simplicity sake, we will go 1 and months. Also, I plan on getting Spirit Control, too… Which will be strictly for the boss battles. After learning how powerful Mezuki was, my OC and his party know that they can't mess around. They need to up their game, and that means upping their training regime. So, next chapter will have the in-between month training arc. I will have a fun time, going over the powers that everyone will get and after that chapter will have the next big boss coming around.
