A few weeks passed and Accelerator is still adjusting to his new life even if it's just one year. There people still giving him looks and comments. Classmates who won't stop bothering him to socialize at least it's kind of peaceful he can take it it's much better circumstance than in Academy City now that he noticed it's been a while since he used his powers.

It was now Hoshinomya's class.

"Now now class settle down for now I have an announcement." Ms. Hoshinomiya got the attention of the whole class even Accelerator as he is not in the mood to sleep and got curious about the announcement.

"It's the end of the month, so we're going to have a short test. Please pass these to the back."She handed out the papers to the students in the front row. The single-sheet test reached his desk. It contained questions in the five main subjects. With only a few questions per subject, it really was short.

"Huh? a surprise test!" a student complained.

"Don't say that. This test is just for future reference. It won't be a part of your report cards. so don't worry. Of course, cheating is not allowed so don't get any ideas okay."

As soon as the surprise began, Accelerator scanned the questions. There were four questions per subject, for a total of twenty. Each question was worth five points, for a total of one hundred points. Most of the questions were easy for him as he got the best and worst education from Academy City, The final three questions were an order of magnitude higher in terms of difficulty. The final math problem couldn't be solved without complex formulas which was not a problem for the number one whose ability relied on complexity formulas.

The whole class was not as special as Accelerator but some are but not close to him. The questions couldn't be geared toward a first-year high school student. The final three questions were clearly of a different quality than the others, so it was possible they'd been put on the test by mistake. Even though the results wouldn't be reflected in our grades.

Ms. Hoshinomiya monitored the whole room despite looking like she has a hangover she vigilantly watched over the whole room for cheating.

Accelerator finished the test first but didn't bother to show signs of being done and pretended to have difficulty in order not to gain attention until the bell rang.

The next week May 1 and Accelerator is still having difficulty adjusting. It is also the most heavily waited day of the month as it when the class will receive more points for spending.

"All right, Before we get started, has anyone receive their points? Ms, Hoshinomiya asked again in a horrid condition which Accelerator and the class are still not getting used to as they were worried she might crash on the spot.

The whole class checked their points balance this morning and gave off mixed reactions, some ecstatic, some confused, some saddened, concerned, and enraged, Accelerator checked his balance and found at least 200,000 points he was gonna be part of the ecstatic but waited for further announcements as it could be a glitch, an error or a mistake.

"Are you all surprised by your amount points?" The teacher asked the whole class still in shock.

"Well let me explain, Well there are some of you who showed good behavior and some that didn't have good behavior as you can this school values you on merit. So the one who does good work is rewarded and the one who does not and even makes trouble is punished.

"Miss I don't get it," One student said out loud

"hhheeeeeeh , " she sighed and continued "Some of you have been really naughty and those who are naughty don't get anything to return absence, tardiness, talking during classes you name it, and some of you have been good girls and good, good boys who deserve a reward for being good. the rest who are both not good and bad mehh just a simple "well done".

"This is how the real world works if you have value you will be paid and if don't bring value you will be left behind, Just like survival of the fittest.

Ms. Hoshinomiya explained as if she were talking to a bunch of elementary students.

"Why were we not told about this in the first place" a student complained

"Sorry I am not told and paid not to that's how the system work." she flashed a cheering smile and continued.

"Do you really think you would get a large amount of money for free, what do you think this is a charity, noooo it is not,"

"Can you at least tell us how on Earth this system actually works like how do we get more points specifically." another student stood up asked followed by the approval of the whole class.

"I am sorry I also cannot tell you that," She flashed another smile and placed a poster on the blackboard revealing the points of the whole class compared to others. "These are the results for each class"

Class A through Class D was listed. To the side was a row of numbers that went up to a maximum of four digits. Class D had 0. Class C had 490. Class B had 650. And at the top was Class A, with a total of 940.

"You we're all placed second because some of you did really well that carried the whole class and with that, I give you a good job and cheer up at least Class D who got zero points who are probably panicking like if it was the end of the world, this is how the workforce works.

The whole class was silent after the revelations most sighed with a breath of relief and some broken as if they received their report card and had low scores. Accelerator was not too surprised it works like Academy City higher level esper 3-4 get a lot of compensations for their abilities. Level 5s such as himself have institutions dedicated to one person so they technically get the most compensation. Levels 2 and below don't get anything much and Level 0 their treated defectives just like Class D.

"Now let me tell you, the top 3 who got the highest in-class in the test I gave you last week the first is Asao Asahiko second is Ichinose Honami and third is Ryuji Kanzaki. The whole class was shocked even Accelerator he forgot not to show much of his ability but it was the force of habit during his time in Academy City. They all turned to Accelerator who was unfazed yet surprised but hid it about the fact he got the highest he thought there would be more on his level and some higher.

"This school really is interesting a true Classroom for the Elite".

He said mentally in his head. as the class watched him unfazed like it was a natural thing to him.

"Asahiko could have gained more points if he paid attention more in class and stopped being late but his work is impeccable I must say how are you not in Class A?" asked the white-haired boy at the back corner of the room.

He didn't respond not knowing what to do in the situation, should he ignore them, answer sarcastically or tell them to fuck off he was confused but not scared and anxious as one small word could get him exposed or worse ruin his peace.

"Huhhhwaahhhhh Misaka Misaka senses a disturbance in the force as Misaka references having a bad feeling".

Accelerator didn't reply but sighed with an annoyed expression. The whole class did not know whether to praise him or shun him.

"Well, this is gonna be an interesting year I have to say well Asahiko are you gonna say something before this ends," Ms. Hoshinomiya asked with a joyful smile.

"Something," Accelerator said with no intention of being funny but in order for his classmates to buzz off but failed as the whole class laughed including Ms. Hoshinomiya.

"My my you sure are interesting Asahiko, well that's all for today you free to do what's left with your time." the teacher said as she sits down to fall asleep.

Before the class could swarm him with so many questions and comments he stood up grabbed his crutch and went out of the classroom, his classmates were shocked at his display even the teacher while even asleep could feel his footsteps, the sounds of his crutch, and the sound of the door being opened and closed.

Accelerator walked out to the opposite side of the building just in case somebody followed him. The main reason he went outside was not out of embarrassment or fear but confusion and regret, he was new to situations like this he can't use his powers he can't use his status, and can't interact normally with others, if this was in Academy City he would let his status decide his actions his feeling right now was mixed with anger, all three competing inside his head on what to feel the most. He now has an urge to destroy something and scream to the highest of the hills but cannot.

Meanwhile, his class is deciding what to do with Accelerator's display.

"Woah he's like a mad genius."

"He's getting even cooler now."

"A genius and a manga reader he truly is a man of culture."

"umm should we do something?"

Ichinose on the other hand was conflicted about whether to follow him or leave him be and turned to Ryuji Kanzaki who she's gotten close to for help. They both decided to leave him be and suggested a class to form a study group with a great motivational speech that got the class to support Ichinose.

Accelerator decided to drink some coffee before going back in and sat down near it. His peace was again ruined after he was approached by another student, not from his class a well-built young man of average height with short gray hair that is swept to the left, violet eyes, and square-rimmed glasses.

"Loitering and skipping class is against the school rules you know" the man reprimanded him with an intimidating glare as if he was looking at a bug.

"Great a goody two shoes and a serious kind this just keeps getting better," the white-haired boy thought unfazed by the gray-haired man.

"I am just gonna finish this and head back our teacher is now sleeping so we're free to do what we want until the next class which is 20 minutes," he said before taking a sip not even looking at him.

"Alright but if I" Accelerator cut him off "Yeah yeah you will report me I get it"

"Do you know who I am?" the man said threateningly.

"Don't know, don't care" Accelerator instantly replied.

"I am the student council president of this prestigious institution you better watch your tone"

"Like I said don't care"

The gray-haired man surprised at Accelerator's response decided to slap his face but was halted as Accelerator's quick reflexes he gained in the dark side allowed him to move his crutch to block his hand.

"The student council president using force heh" Accelerator chuckled.

"Well well it looks like the student council president seems to be having difficulty" a female voice came out as two men looked to see more students which annoyed both of them.

"Sakayanagi, Katsuragi" the student council president greeted them.

"What seems to be the problem here," another voice said.

"Well that's it I am out of here" Accelerator stood up throws his can in the trash and decided to leave before this attracts more attention before being halted by one of the people who arrived at the scene.

Another well-built young man of above-average height and larger body frame compared to others with a bald head showing an intimidating appearance.

"What did you do," The bald student asked him with a hostile tone.

"Just minding my own business" Accelerator responded uninterested in the intimidation brought by the two well-built men.

"Hey, I am talking to you don't dare walk away." The man known as Katsuragi decided to pull Accelerator's arm and his response was that of just annoyed.

"What is it can't you see I am handicapped" This made the three students regret they were so focused on his attitude and unusual appearance they didn't notice his crutch.

"Fufufufufufu" the third person now talked it revealed to be a petite teenage girl with lilac-colored hair and violet eyes like Accelerator is walking with a cane.

"What now well I don't want to deal with this" he walked off back to class ignoring the three who were stunned by his attitude.

Upon returning to his classroom he saw Ms. Hoshinoiya about to leave,

"Sorry Miss went to the toilet," he said walking back to his seat.

"No need to apologize Asahiko like what I said your free to do anything you wish in this school," she said with a wink.

He didn't bother to respond and proceeds to go back to his seat unfazed by his teacher's response and the awkwardness of this situation.

"My my what an interesting kid and he good looking too kind of exotic" Hoshinomiya thought inside her head.

"Alright Bye everyone now Asahiko if you want more points, be a good boy okay, bye"

The teacher waved goodbye and left the room. Now Accelerator back hoped he won't get swarmed.

"Asahiko how are you so smart"

"Why don't you hang out with us"

"Asahiko do you really like manga"

"What's the point of hope," Accelerator asked mentally.

"umm guys one at a time," Ichinose said getting the attention of those surrounding Accelerato getting them to be quiet.

"So I see you really are smart huh why don't we make a study group so that way we can all get to Class A . ." Ichinose said as she holds Accelerator's hands making his fellow classmates jealous.

"Not interested." He shoots down Ichinose "As I told you I am not a people person" he continued.

"Come on don't be like that be a part of us ."

"Yeah one of us," a student said

"one of us, one of, one of us, one of us, one of us, one of us" His classmates sang in unison which just irritated Accelerator if only they knew, if only they knew.

"Guys," Ichinose cut them but continued to plea with Accelerator with a cute face which reminded Accelerator of a certain kid and a certain hero.

"What part of no do you not understand?"

"Please it will be fun ." Ichinose still tried harder

"What part of studying is fun" One student commented to which Ichinose ignored but made the class laugh.

"Pleaseeeee Asahiko it would be a huge favor, we won't bother you, and plus we could help you we anything you need ." Ichinose gave her all in convincing Accelerator despite being obvious that he is getting annoyed and even angry no really if looks could kill Ichinose's body would be mutilated and unidentifiable.

"Tchhhhhhhhhh fine" Accelerator finally caved in hoping they would stop and him wondering if Ichinose is actually Mental Out in disguise fifth-ranked esper that could mentally control someone.

"YEAHHHHH" they all cheered that they got the quiet genius kid to join their study group. Accelerator prayed to whatever God out there that no one knows about this, he might resort to blackmailing the psychologist not to tell Yomikawa and Yoshikawa.

The cheerful and happy atmosphere was put to an end as the next teacher arrived making everyone go back to their seats.

"His full name is Asao Asahiko his background checks but why did he end up in Class B with his abilities he should be in Class A, is it his personality maybe it's best to keep an eye on him"

A man hidden in the shadows schemed reading Accelerator's fake background and database.

Accelerator walked his way home but was called out by a certain annoying pain in the ass.

"Heyyyyy Asahiko ehehehehe " Ichinose enthusiastically ran up to him.

"Tchh what is it this time" he responded annoyed.

"Well thanks for joining us I know it may be difficult for you"

"Tch" was Accelerator's only response he really wasn't having difficulty it was just a pain in the ass like a useless chore.

"Just so you know our study group is tomorrow at one o clock in the afternoon we will meet in the library," Ichinose said to Accelerator as he was not even looking at her.

"Tchhhhh Alright just remind you I don't like answering too many questions" He reminded as he parted ways with her not wanting to go together with her on the way to the dorm but without having a trip to the bookstore to find some manga worth buying which luckily was not approached by or bumped into someone annoying.

It was now the weekends, Accelerator would usually just spend time alone in his room. Then there is this study session he got himself into, he was planning to ditch it and made some sort of excuse but it would lead to much worse things so when the time came he dressed up into new casual clothes.

"Tch so boring," he said as he left the dorm.

At the library, most of the students of Class B gathered.

While waiting for the rest Ryuji Kanzaki one of Ichinose's companions deduced that if most of the class aced the exams and talked it out with Ichinose and the others.

"The teacher said on the first day almost anything can be bought with points," Ryuji said.

"With more points, we can make this year more bearable and more suited to us. if we really put in our all we will make it into Class A."

"Why even bother, we're the second" one student asked.

"You see if we get into Class A not only we get a better school year but our future would be set, I asked our teacher and other students some questions,I learned if we surpass Class A our futures would be set for life we could get into any college of our choice in the world, any company the higher ones and even a position in any of Academy City specialized research institutions."

Ryuji explained which made the whole class in awe.

"So our goal now is to make sure everyone in this class passed to accomplish that all three of the brightest in the class shall work together, me, Ichinose and even Asahiko, the two of us would kindly help you but Asahiko who solved the most complex formula in that surprise test may not cooperate."

"Yeah let's use the power of teamwork and friendship to get to Class A ," Ichinose exclaimed in a low voice in the library which gained quiet applause from the rest of the Class B students present.

"Now let's see this is the first test to see if he's willing to cooperate," Ryuji said.

"I am sure he will," Ichinose replied with sincerity.

"Let's not get our hopes too high. Ryuji said.

Time passed and the time for the study session has started, Most of the students sighed with hope last with Accelerator not present as they start their session until they hear a sound hitting the floor, a sound of a crutch.

Accelerator has arrived to study and socialize.

"Tch what have I gotten myself into".
