At 3 in the morning, Jovica gets a move-on. She leaves another trail for Dion to follow. This one will take him to his next job.

The sun rises. Dion does, too. He yawns, and stretches. He knows it's pointless...but he's going to check his mail.

To his surprise, there's something. It's a note. All it says is an address. Intrigued, and a bit cautious, Dion more properly dresses himself, and takes a coach out to the address in the note.

Jovica stows away aboard the coach, to make sure Dion gets hired when he gets there. They'll make her work SO much harder, if they don't... Not only that, but she sure as hell can't imagine why they wouldn't hire him. Lately, their murals have been sucking.

The coach takes them to ΓϘ. (That's Gamma Koppa, in our alphabet.) It's a place where men go to appreciate art. Men's fashion is also sold here. Food, books, and sandalpunk gadgets also are.

In a lot, Dion dismounts. Jovica has to dismount while the coach is still in motion.

Once she has, she hides atop a wall, and watches Dion's luck. He shakes hands with a lot of men. They show him around. Before long, and to Jovica's relief, they've stationed him somewhere, and before long, Dion's interacting with customers.

At this, Jovica breathes relief. She's done it. She's gotten Patras's favorite Mindless One re-employed. And the city will not think, know, or care to thank her.

On pillars throughout town, her wanted poster still hangs. She's still branded as a street mouse. But then, little ever changes in the wild world of red tape.

Magically, the bounty price on her wanted poster edits itself. It's a Bloodforce spell. The number has gotten bigger. Hence, the head of Jovica the Street Mouse has just gotten more valuable. Either that, or the drachma has inflated...again. (That happens a lot, in Athenian Greece...)

Soon, Jovica will be running more...as more sentries throughout Patras chase her. Soon, there won't be anywhere she can run where no one will look for her...

She's in the jailhouse now. It's only 9 in the morning. To either side of her cell, male inmates try to summon her. She may be a street mouse, but she's VERY easy on the eyes...

Her cell has a window. Alas, the jail should've locked her in one of the dungeons. Soon, dawn will be over. And that'll be sad...for Jovica, at least...

In the corner of her cell, a portal opens...to the Dawn Dimension. From it, pink clouds of magic emerge.

The vaults of the cell glow. A warm whirlwind gently blows all around the cell. From the portal, heavenly music sings.

Jovica rises, and greets it. It's so pleasant. She's got no idea what it is, but... She doesn't want it to leave.

The dawn magic receives this as an invitation. It finds its way into her, finds her witch genes, transmutates them, and turns her into a dawn witch.

A pink tentacle of dawn magic rises from the portal, snatches Jovica, and hauls her into the portal. Behind her, the portal seals itself, trapping her in. In her absence, it's as if she's not there. Or rather, it would be, if not for the locked cell door.

A guard walks past...and sees her empty cell. He panics, runs, and sounds the alarm. Now, the manhunters have resumed the search for Patras's favorite street mouse. They'll never find her. They'd have better luck if they looked for a real mouse.
