"Ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!"
Chloé was on Nino's phone the next day, scanning through the Ladyblog and reading the newest article about Canis. Pollen had suggested they don't use Chloé's phone in case someone was tracking it. It had been a rough night. Chloé had managed to find them some dinner after she talked to Alya and then they headed back to the Vider District. She found an empty building that was still dry and warm and they huddled there for the night, laying on the ground and using only Chloé's clothes as blankets and a matress. It was morning now and Chloé was sitting in the empty street with her back against an abandoned building.
"What's wrong, My Queen?"
"Canis?! That is suck a stupid name! I would have preferred something like Bad Bitch! At least that sounds cool and is dog related!"
"Well, it's too late now," Pollen sighed sarcastically.
Chloé ignored the kwami's attitude, instead reading the article more. It hit all of the points that Chloé had told Alya and added a little bit more.
"Listen to this, Pollen," Chloé told her kwami. "While this akuma is still on the loose, we can only speculate that tens of people are still left missing due to it's activities. One such person possibly being Adrien Agreste who has been reported missing by his father mere hours after the akuma disappeared. Canis needs every eye on the lookout to hunt down this akuma and bring our friends and family back."
"Not bad," Pollen complemented.
"She's covering for Marinette and Adrien without even knowing it," Chloé told the two goddesses.
"It's a good thing too. Their absences along with that of Ladybug and Chat Noir would cause many, many issues," Pollen said.
"So...what do we do now? Just sit around and wait?"
"We don't have much of a choice. There's very little we can do on our own."
Nino's phone began to buzz in her hand and Chloé dropped it suddenly. She crawled over to where it lay on the concrete and eyed the notification.
"It's an akuma alert!"
"But that can't be!"
Chloé pressed the icon and live footage popped up. It was the akuma from the day before! The same akuma! He was holding a woman on top of the Eiffel Tower, holding a knife of his own creation to her back. He was yelling at the people who were filming. He was telling them that if the new hero didn't show up, then he would kill the civilian.
"This is our chance," Chloé exclaimed.
"Wait, we have to be careful," Pollen exclaimed, stopping Chloé in her tracks. "This could very easily be a trap! Why would Hawkmoth just let us get the akuma?"
"He probably doesn't think I can take it! He underestimates me! Just like Mayura did. That akuma is going down! I'm going to bring Ladybug and Chat Noir back! Hawkmoth wants Canis to show up, they're both expecting it. But instead, they're going to get someone with a whole lot more sting!"
Chloé made sure that the Miracle Box was safely tucked into the backpack before hiding it in a nearby ally. She did not need to be bringing it into a battle. Especially since the akuma probably wanted it. The bee kwami and her holder had agreed that it was safer there. She nodded at Pollen, getting into a new stance. She had to change her desires.
"You ready?"
"Yes, My Queen!"
"Let's go! Pollen: Buzz on!"
Alexandre Augustin was a huge fan of Chloé Bourgeois. He and his family were fairly wealthy and they stayed in the mayor's hotel a lot. He had been seeing her very regularly since he was little. The only problem was, she didn't see him. He had always admired her from afar, never actually stopping to talk to her or even introduce himself. She had no idea that he even existed. But that didn't stop him from imagining and creating fantasies in his mind about the adventures that they could have together. He would imagine scenario after scenario of them playing together or, as he grew up, going on dates with her or hearing her laugh and her beautiful voice.
One morning, he had finally gotten up the courage to offer her a yellow ranunculus. It was her favorite color. As she was leaving the hotel to go to school he stopped her to try and talk to her. But she just brushed him off and kept walking. He was invisible to her. She wouldn't have even noticed if he just disappeared. He had been heart broken.
So when Hawkmoth had offered him the power to create infinite things with his mind and make everything that stood in his way disappear, he jumped at the opportunity. Thus Infini was born. A creature of pure white, representing the infinite possibilities that he had.
And he had almost done it too. Ladybug and Chat Noir were gone. And then he discovered Ladybug's secret identity, and from the sound of it, Hawkmoth recognized her. He thought that the man would be overjoyed. But the supervillain told him to stand down immediately. Stand down or have his powers revoked. Casting a last longing look towards Chloé, he did as hawkmoth asked and he went away. He went into hiding in the sewers, just as he was instructed and waited until he was called upon again to finish his purpose. And he didn't have to wait long.
At nine o' clock the next morning, Hawkmoth reached out again and told him the plan. He told him that he would be facing off a new hero called Canis and that she had Ladybug's miraculous. Once Hawkmoth had the miraculous of creation, he could bring Chat Noir back and then he'd have both miraculous and Alexandre could have everything he wanted. Including Chloé Bourgeois.
So when Infini was standing on top of the Eiffel Tower, threatening some innocent person's life, he did not expect the superhero that came to stop him.
He was standing and waiting when he heard a zip and then two strong feet kicked his head, knocking him to the ground. He released the civilian and they were wrapped up in the string of the hero's spinning top. The civilian was lowered safely to the ground and the new hero stood in front of Infini.
His jaw dropped.
She was clearly using the Bee Miraculous but it wasn't Queen Bee. The stripe pattern on her torso was the same, but the top of the suit was a halter top and long black spandex gloves were glued to her arms. The yellow of the torso cut off on her thighs, making her look like she was wearing a bodysuit, leading to more black that ended at thigh high yellow boots instead of Queen Bee's black ones. There was a thick black belt that hung loosely around her waist and hips that was clearly meant to house her top. And while her blonde ponytail was similar to Queen Bee's, it was completely slicked back and there was no black streak running through the stick-straight hair.
Infini growled loudly before lunging himself at her, she expertly launched into the air and twisted, kicking his back and knocking him to the ground. As he stood again, she threw her top, hooking it onto something before using it to swing around him in circles, punching him and kicking at him from every angle, not even giving him a chance to make a move. Whoever this was certainly had more confidence in their abilities than Queen Bee did.
He finally managed to pull her down and knock her to the ground. He pushed her down onto the ground so that he was on top of her, holding her down. She growled at him and then raised her legs, kicking him right in the stomach and forcing him off of her. He stumbled back, gripping his torso to see the new hero jump back onto her feet, her yellow heels making a loud "clack" as she did so. She readied her top again, spinning it as she walked towards him.
"Who are you," Infini asked.
"I'm the one who's going to kick your ass."
