Chapter 5 Going Somewhere

For the rest of the time they were at Jane's lab, Saphira was of no help to anyone and just sat watching and studying everyone; besides giving a smartass remark here and there and teasing Thor, she didn't do much other than play on her phone. Saphira was in a hurry to get out of here, but of course, they still had a while to go.

Saphira had decided that Darcy was okay, even if she did have a big mouth and sometimes said the dumbest things; Selvig she neither liked nor disliked. Yeah, he was a lot of help and intelligent, but he sometimes said or did something that annoyed Saphira, but the one out of the three she could not stand was Jane Foster, sure the woman was smart. If she still had her computers, maybe just maybe, she probably would have discovered a doorway to some other dimension, but the woman was too full of herself, and yeah, Jane had some friendship she had formed with Enid, or was it respect? Anyway, Jane liked Thor and kept watching him and Enid with a frown, and that annoyed Saphira, though Enid and Thor didn't seem to notice, Selvig did, though, and Saphira thought that might be the reason he didn't seem to care much for her and her sister.

Saphira found the way Enid and Thor acted with each other, both amusing and annoying, they seemed shy and nervous, like teenagers with their first crush, in a way she could see why it's been a century since they have seen each other, and as far as Saphira knew they hadn't had any contact with each other, but on the other hand, they have known each other a lot longer than that. They were no longer the couple that stayed latched to each other's lips, on Asgard, it was a normal thing for someone to walk into a room or out in a garden and run into Thor and Enid making out, not that Saphira wanted to see them kissing, but still, the way they were acting now annoyed her.

Saphira thought about how she always loved teasing Thor and making him mad, not that she didn't like Thor, Saphira did; once you were able to see past Thor's spoiled and arrogant attitude, he wasn't too bad; he was a decent guy, she could see what her sister saw in him, blonde, blue eyes, tall, well built, yeah he was a handsome prince if you were into the jock type, Enid was. Saphira wasn't; she preferred the intelligent, mysterious type; like Loki, Saphira thought him better looking than Thor, with his black hair and green eyes, she couldn't wait to see him.

Saphira studied her sister, on Asgard Enid was always the most popular out of the two; everyone thought she was the prettiest, the smarties, and the nicest; Saphira didn't care, and never felt jealous of her sister, not even when her father would compare the two and tell her to act more like her, by then she had already decided she couldn't stand him, they had never been close, Saphira could never please him, could never make him proud her, and his hatred towards Loki was uncalled for; Loki had always been nothing but polite and respectful toward her father and mother, and even when helping her play tricks on Enid he never did anything inappropriate or disrespectful toward her, so it didn't make sense. Her father always said Loki was annoying, had no respect for him and his witchcraft. But Saphira thought it had to be more than that.

After Coulson had left, Selvig had gone down the road to a guy he knew to borrow his computer to send the email he told Jane about while there he burrowed an old truck the guy had and didn't use much anymore, since Jane's van was on its last leg, mainly from crashing into Saphira's car; and was pretty much was done in after driving out to the crash site earlier, after that, they came back to the lab and marked on the map a back road Enid could take when they went back tonight.

The only ones going back were Saphira, Enid, Thor, and Jane. They tried to talk Jane into staying but, unfortunately, was unsuccessful.

Right now, Enid had her tarot cards out and kept checking them, laying them down and turning them over; every time she did, she frowned at them, and one time Enid had looked over at Saphira only to glance away when she saw her looking at her. Saphira didn't know when her sister started rereading them or how she had them on her still, but it both amused and worried her at the same.

"The sun should start sitting soon." Enid said, "It's probably a good idea to leave now; it's a long drive should be dark by the time we get there."

"Finally." Saphira cried and stood up to head out the door; the other three followed; Saphira got in the back behind the driver seat, Thor up front in the passenger seat, Jane in the back next to Saphira Enid, of course, got into the driver seat.

"It'll take longer going the back roads, so I am going to stop and fill the truck up before heading out of town," Enid said as she pulled into a station. "Damn, I forgot they took my purse."

"I got my bank card," Saphira announced, pulling her cell phone out of her pocket and sliding the back of the case over; there was a little compartment there that had the card in it. She got out of the truck and handed Enid her card. They asked Thor and Jane if they would like something to drink before heading into the station together.

"Are you okay, sister?" Enid asked as Saphira opened the coolers.

"Why do you ask that?" Saphira demanded, grabbing a Pepsi.

"You have been quiet," Enid answered. "That's not like you."

"You should be thanking me, not worrying about me, Sister," Saphira said as Enid got drinks for her, Thor, and Jane. Jane just wanted water; she got herself an ice tea and Thor a soda.

"Thanking you for what exactly?" Enid demanded as they headed to the checkout.

"If it weren't for me keeping Jane away from Thor." Saphira explains, putting her drink on the counter, "Then she would be trying to dig her claws into your man, so you are welcome." Enid said nothing as she slides Saphira's card into the machine; Saphira put in the pin.

The ride there was quiet no one spoke much, other than a comment here or there; Saphira watched the sun setting as they drove along; for the first time in her life, she was feeling a little jealous of Enid, she had her guy back, but Saphira was still yet to even see hers; she was also starting to feel a little nervous, she was so close to home, so close to seeing Loki again, but yet so far away, Saphira felt like every since coming down here she's had the worst of luck, yeah she did some fun things, had some fun jobs. She tried to keep herself happy until she could go home, didn't help much, though, every time she was cheered in her Las Vegas show or won a beauty pageant back years ago, Saphira would long for Loki to see her, to be proud of her like he was whenever she was able to make a flame in her hand, control the wind, or make a flower grow when on Asgard. Yeah, in his letters, Loki would say he was proud of her when she bragged to him, what she had done, but it wasn't the same as hearing him say it.

Tears fell down Saphira's face as she watched storm clouds roll in from a distance; she wiped them away as she heard Thor laugh in the front seat as Enid said something; Thor said something like," I remember that"

Guess Saphira wasn't the only one getting lost in memories; the only difference was Thor, and Enid got to be happy about it. They always did. They got to show off their relationship. She and Loki had to sneak for the most part so that the wrong person wouldn't find out, and it got back to her father. In the end, it didn't work as someone found out and snitched on them.

The lengths her father went to to make sure Saphira didn't go near Loki; was unimaginable; the day he found them in the library kissing life at home turned into almost a living hell for her, he yelled at her, threatened her, called her disrespectful names, looked at her with pure disgust and hatred on his face and banned her from leaving the house unless he or her mother was with her. He never actually hit her, but locking her up in her bedroom was almost as bad. Saphira always found a way out, though. Her father caught her out a few times, and once he yelled at her and dragged her back to her room; he would reinforce the locks or change them thinking her mother or a servant let her out, when he finally found out that Saphira was getting out from the large window in her room, he moved her to another room with no windows.

Saphira smiled as she thought of how Loki would sneak into her house, taking the form of a servant or someone that wouldn't be suspicious, and use magic to unlock her bedroom door, then use his cloning ability to make a copy of Saphira so she could sneak out; they were careful, though, and hardly ever went where others could see them, all this happened four months before Bard's rebellion, Saphira's dislike of him was already turning to hate because of how cruel he had become, that's why she didn't understand why her mother would side with him, why she abandoned her and Enid, for him, no matter what Enid said, Saphira would never be able to forgive either of her parents, especially her father.

It was both dark and raining harder by the time they got there, but Enid's prediction didn't come true, as it looked like there was the same amount of people there as there were before. Still, as it was dark, it should be easier to sneak in; Enid turned around, drove back down the road a little way, parked, then the four of them got out, and quietly shut their doors and walked a small ways towards the site, Enid thought they would be less noticeable walking in instead of driving in.

"There's my car," Saphira said, pointing where it was on the back of a wrecker truck.

"Good, you can check it for our bags while Thor and I find Mjolnir," Enid told her

"What can I do?" Jane asked.

"Stay out of the way," Saphira answered.

Thor climbed over a fence then helped the three ladies to climb over. They all ducked down as they walked over to the wrecker that had Saphira's car on it. For some weird reason, it hadn't been towed away yet, and they stood hiding behind it as they watched the people walking around.

They spotted Mjolnir right away, SHIELD had large lights set up going farther in the field, and it was lit up bright, along with tents all over; Mjolnir has stuck in the ground not far away, surrounded by black tape with SHIELD written across it.

"I should probably sneak over and get Mjolnir." Thor said, "With the hammer, it will be easier to get Jane's things and your bags."

"That's a good idea." Enid agreed. "Go over and get it; Saphira and I will stay here, with Jane, but be careful." Thor nodded, ducked down, and headed over to Mjolnir; surprisingly, he was able to hide behind stuff and stay out of sight, took him a few minutes, but he made it there without being stopped. The sisters and Jane watched as Thor went up to Mjolnir and reached his hand out and grabbed the handle and pulled, but the hammer didn't move, both Enid's and Saphira's eyes widened as no matter how hard Thor pulled, he could not lift Mjolnir.

"He's not worthy anymore?" Saphira whispered. "How?"

"Must be something to do with Odin stripping his powers," Enid said.

"How bad was the fight between him and Odin?" Saphira asked; she felt terrible for Thor; he had stopped trying to lift Mjolnir and was standing there; the rain was now pouring down on him, and Thor didn't seem to care as he stood there looking like he just lost his child.

"I don't know; Thor never mentioned," Enid said. "Oh shit."

Enid cursed because Thor had been spotted and was now fighting off agents, going through them as if they were nothing.

"Sister, I think you need to go get your man," Saphira said. "Then we go back to the truck and leave town. We have to figure out how to get Thor worthy of that hammer again; that is how we get back to Asgard."

"What about my things?" Jane asked.

"That's your problem." Saphira said, "You want your stuff. Find it. Enid and I have much bigger things to worry about." She turned back to Enid. "Sister, go before dumbass gets himself shot; he is still mortal at the moment."

She shoved Enid a little. She got out of her surprise and ran over toward Thor; Saphira watched them both fighting off agents. Even though there were only two of them, and Thor didn't have his god of thunder powers at the moment, they were still winning the fight, especially when Enid started using her abilities.

Thunder boomed overhead, and lightning lit up the sky; Saphira wondered if the weather was still connected to Thor in some way, for it seemed to get worse the more Thor got upset, she watched their fight, ready to step in if they needed help, but even with Thor's only ability right now was his strength and warrior training, Enid had her training and powers they didn't need help at the moment, Saphira knew her sister could take them all out by just thinking it. However, her soft heart wouldn't allow her to hurt anyone.

Saphira climbed up on the back of the wrecker to look for her and Enid's luggage in her car; by now, she was completely wet, her feet and ankles were covered in mud. Still, she didn't care, Saphira looked in her car, but her keys were no longer in it; she cursed and walked around to the back, hoping there was some way to get it open. There wasn't, so Saphira punched the trunk of the car and decided they probably had their bags anyway; she turned to jump down and saw a dark-haired man dressed in a black outfit with no sleeves, carrying a bow and arrow climbing up some lookout; Saphira watched as he aimed his bow toward Thor and Enid, and pulled it back, but didn't shoot the arrow, instead seemed to be waiting for some single of when to hit.

"I think not," Saphira said to herself; she then jumped down off the back of the wrecker and walked towards the guy, who wasn't that far away.

"What are you doing?" Jane demanded. "You're going to get seen."

Saphira ignored Jane got down on one knee and touched the ground, then, as the guy was getting ready to shoot, two thick vines shot out of the ground and up towards him; he cried out, surprised as one vine grabbed his arm and another took his bow, knocking it to the ground, seconds later, the vine holding the guy's arm jerked and pulled him out of the lookout, Saphira smiled and stood up and walked towards him.

"I can't let you do that," Saphira told him, kicking his bow across the ground as he reached for it. "I don't care if you shoot arrows at the big blonde god, but you will not shoot at my sister. I just won't allow that."

The guy said nothing. Instead, he jumped up and swung at Saphira, who bent herself backward to avoid contact, then ducked around the guy and came back up in front of him; she went to take his leg out from under him. Still, he caught her leg, making Saphira do a backflip to get out of his hold, she landed on her feet, then took a swing at him, but he ducked and took her feet out from under her, she fell into the mud, but got back up and grinned.

"Finally, a Midgardain that can fight," Saphira said.

He came at Saphira; she ducked the punch, then swiped his feet out from under him; he landed in the mud; while he was on the ground, he grabbed Saphira's legs and pulled them out from under her, her back hit the ground hard. However, she was still able to roll out of the way of a hit and get back up.

The guy swung at her, but Saphira was able to grabbed his arm to stop his hit; Saphira smirked at him, then suddenly her hand turned red as she burned his arm, the guy gasped in pain and jerked his arm away, but it only kept him back for a moment, as he was able to ignore the pain and face her, looking mad.

"Alright, if a fight is what you want." He said.

"I thought we were already fighting," Saphira replied with a smirk.

He came at Saphira, this time, she wasn't fast enough to duck his punch, and she stumbled back. And back and forth their fight went, once one thought they had the upper hand, the other came back with a move knocking the other one down, he was able to get Saphira with a punch. She came back with one of her own; that's pretty much how their fight went, kicking, punching, flipping each other, and knocking each other down, they were almost evenly matched, and at one point, a crowd had gathered around watching.

"You might as well give up," Saphira said. "I am going to beat you."

Saphira held out her hand and made a fireball appear, but before she could do anything else, one of the agents snuck forward and put a gun to Saphira's head, and clicked it back.

"Don't move, or I pull the trigger." A female voice said. Saphira didn't know rather, or not a Midgardian gun could kill her or even hurt her but decided not to take that chance and put out the fire, then allowed herself to be taken into one of the tents, where he made her set in a chair, then cuffed one of her arms to it. He then left a few guards outside the entrance to watch her and went to get the burn on his arm looked at; Saphira sat there waiting for the right moment to make her escape; these idiots might have given her a way to make a big enough commotion to allow Thor and Enid to flee if they hadn't already. Saphira was getting ready to make her move when Phil Coulson, the guy who took Jane's things earlier, walked into the room; he was carrying the bag of hers they took from Jane's lab.

"Not the one I was expecting to be with the other two," Phil said, tossing her bag on a table. "But not too surprised it's you, though you didn't seem to care about Jane Foster's computers."

"I don't." Saphira said, " I am not here because of that."

"Then, why are you here? Am guessing more than to get your stuff." Coulson demanded. "The other two wouldn't say."

"What makes you think I will." Saphira snapped.

"I heard you had a pretty good fight with Agent Barton," Coulson said, crossing his arms. Saphira said nothing, just lifted her eyebrow at him. She and Coulson had a little bit of a staredown; she could tell he didn't care much for her.

"Who?" Saphira demanded.

"Clint Barton, the guy's arm, you burnt," Coulson said.

"That fight was easy." Saphira lied; she raised her hand and made a little flame appear. "Your Agent Barton, was it? Was no match for a goddess-like myself."

Coulson snorted," A goddess? You're just going to claim that?" Saphira put the fire out and dropped her hand. "Alright, let's see what a god keeps in her bag." Coulson turned the bag over and dumped some of her things out, then sat in a chair and started looking through the stuff.

"You have no manners do you?" Saphira demanded as Coulson picked up her wallet and opened it.

"Ah, you must be some kind of godlike deity, Ms. Saphira Bard." Coulson said, "You have a good driver's license photo." Saphira rolled her eyes.

"You are not funny," Saphira told him, pulling on her handcuff.

"Maybe not, but I find you struggling to get out of those cuffs pretty funny," Coulson said. He tossed her wallet on the table then turned to Saphira. "Who do you work for?" Saphira stopped pulling on the handcuff for a moment before looking over at Coulson with a raised eyebrow at him.

"I don't work for anyone," Saphira told him. "Unless you count working for my sister at her casino, then I guess I work for my sister."

"Don't try to play around with me; I am not in the mood." Coulson said. "the big blonde guy took out most my men without a sweat, then once your sister joined him, they stood no chance, you got the better of one of SHEILD's best agents and left a pretty nasty burn on his arm, so, I will ask again, who the hell are you three and who do you work for?"

"None of your business and no one," Saphira told him.

"Don't give me that line of bull," Coulson ordered. "You and your sister show up the same time this mystery guy seems to fall from the sky. You three have unbelievable fighting skills, and you and your sister at least have some kind of powers, are you guys mutants? You some of Magneto's people?"

"Who?" Saphira asked, but Coulson ignored her.

"Is Jane Foster and her friends in on this?" He asked instead, " or did they get caught up in something trying to be good samaritans? "

Saphira glared at Coulson but didn't say anything; he sat and watched her, with a great deal of dislike, as if he was waiting for her to give in and start talking when she never did; Coulson finally gave in and stood.

"You and your friends don't want to talk now; we'll just see how you start spilling your guts once locked up," Coulson said; he walks to the entrance, then turned to her. "Don't go anywhere." He joked before leaving the room.

Saphira decided she had enough of this place and was leaving no matter what any of them said. Saphira looked through her stuff Coulson left lying all over the table until she found a bobby pin, smiling. She picked it up, then turned to her cuffs and unlocked them, and it took a moment to work, but it did work. She stood, put her stuff back in her bag, slipped it on, then turned to find herself face to face with the two agents that were guarding the entrance.

"Don't move." One shouted, Saphira rolled her eyes, then before he knew it, she rushed forward, throwing her body into his and taking him down; she jumped up and took down the second agent then ran down the hall, turn a corner, took out another guard, before continuing. Saphira found no entrance leading out this way and decided to turn around and go back the way she came. But this place was like a maze, and Saphira soon got lost trying to outrun the agents and find a way out of the giant tent maze or whatever the hell it was.

Saphira decided to back up and run down a passageway she had just passed only to turn around and see about five agents, most of which she had just fought; she turned back around only to see more agents running up behind her. Saphira got down on one knee again, touched the ground, and like before, vines shot up, more this time as they grabbed the agents, pulling them down on the floor and wrapping around them, keeping them trapped there. Saphira turned to the others as she stood.

"I told you not to move." The first agent she had taken down was in front of her, his hand on the gun attached to his hip. Saphira gave him an eerie grin, waved her hand towards him, and he suddenly went flying up into the air, screaming as he floated up to the top of the tent and bounced around; if it weren't for there being a cover, he would have floated away. The agents watched for a moment, then looked back at Saphira, and most pulled out their guns, pointing them at her.

"You can try to stop me, but it won't do you any good," Saphira said, holding her hand out and making fire shot up. "I am leaving here if I have to go through every last one of you to do it."

"She can do it too." Phil Coulson announced as he pushed his way through the agents to walk up to Saphira, and to her surprise, gave her a huge grin, like he was happy to see her, which made no sense because when she last saw him moments ago, he looked at her with nothing but dislike.

"Sir, be careful." An agent said. Coulson reached out and slipped the palm of his hand underneath Saphira's, being careful not to burn himself on her flames.

"She's very dangerous." Another agent said.

That comment made Coulson grin more as Saphira just stood in shock and confusion as he brought her hand close to his face and blew the flame as if he was blowing out a candle; the fire went out instantly, and he winked at her, making Saphira's eyes widen.

"Saphira would never hurt me." Coulson said to the agents while still smiling at Saphira, who by now was giving him a suspicious look, "Gentleman, you may go on about your business. I'll make sure this lady gets home safely."

"But, Sir, you said just moments ago to make sure she didn't escape." An agent said.

"There has been a change of plans," Coulson said.

"But, Agent Coulson.."

"I said go." Coulson raised his voice, and for the first time since he walked up to them, he took his eyes from Saphira and turned to the others.

"Now!" He yelled so loud; even Saphira jumped a little startled; the other agents put their guns away and begin to walk away, some even hurrying. Coulson turned back to Saphira and gave her a loving smile, and gently squeezed her hand.

"Sorry, darling, I did not mean to startle..."

"You're not Phil Coulson, are you?" Saphira asked, narrowing her eyes at him; Coulson only grinned larger and stepped back, holding his arms out.

"What gave you that idea, love?" Coulson asked, smirking.

"You have better be who I think you..." Saphira stopped talking as she saw a flicker of familiar green magic. Then Coulson wasn't standing there anymore; someone else was, someone Saphira had longed to visit for a century.

"Loki, " Saphira almost whispered; she reached out and laid her hands on his chest then reached up to touch his face; she was almost afraid he'd disappear on her; she wanted to throw herself into his arms but couldn't get herself to move. Instead, she looked him over; Loki was just as gorgeous as she remembered; he wore a suit and tied with a long coat and scarf. He looked good in the Midgardian attire, but she preferred him in his Asgardian clothing.

"Hello, darling," Loki said. Saphira dropped her hand from his cheek. She looked up into his eyes.

"I've been hanging around Thor all day, hoping you would show up," Saphira told him. "I was beginning to think you were not coming" Her voice cracked as she tried to stop herself from crying.

"Please, do not cry," Loki said, gently laying his hands on her cheeks and ripping the tears away with his thumbs. "Just took me a bit to get down here, Odin has gone into Odinsleep, with Thor banished, I am King until he awakens, no matter how long that takes, and well, it took me a to get free time to sneak away.".

Saphira wrapped her arms around Loki and held him tightly; as Loki wrapped his arms around her, they stood like that for a few minutes, then Loki kissed the top of Saphira's head and pulled away.

"I have missed you terribly," Saphira told him, she lightly gripped Loki's scarf, and Loki took her hands in his; he raised one to his mouth and kissed it.

"I have missed you too," Loki told her.

"We should probably leave," Saphira said. "Before we are spotted.

"You do not have to worry about that," Loki told her. "Am concealing our presence; no one can see us."

"Oh," Saphira said, "I forgot you could do that."

Loki smiled lovingly at her as he leaned his head down and came closer to her so that he could kiss her; Saphira's breath caught, and her heart raced as Loki's lips pressed against hers for the first time since leaving Asgard; the kiss soon got deeper and became more passionate as Saphira kissed Loki back.

"You are even more beautiful than I remember," Loki said when they pulled apart; he then pushed her wet, tangled hair out of her face.

"Are you going to take me home now?" Saphira asked. Hopefully, putting her arms around him, Loki laid his hand on her face and rubbed her cheek with his thumb again.

"Darling, there is something you must know before you decide if you truly want to go back to Asgard with me," Loki told her, and Saphira frowned and pulled away.

"What do you mean if I want to go back to Asgard with you?" Saphira demanded, "Of course I do. That's all I wanted since arriving here." She felt both confused and fear that Loki might not still want to be with her after all.

"Come, we'll talk about this in a better place," Loki said, took her hands in his. And with a flicker of green magic, they both disappeared, then reappeared in a field full of wildflowers, it was light out, and no one else was around; the sky was a bright blue, not a cloud in sight. Saphira wasn't sure where Loki had taken them, but it was beautiful here. Yet somehow familiar.

Loki laid his hand on Saphira's back and led her over to a bench that was under a tall tree; he had her sit down, then sat next to her, he slipped his fingers through hers and held her hand, Saphira watched him as he was silent for a moment, then Loki took a breath and started talking.

"You could say it all started with Thor's coronation." Loki began. "His ceremony was interrupted by Frost Giants. The destroyer killed them, but not before they killed some of our guards and got very close to the Casket of Ancient Winters; Thor and Odin fought over if they should go to Jotunheim and comfort the jotuun or let it go, Odin won the argument, and it seemed like that was the end of it."

"But Thor went anyway; he said he was banished for starting a war with the Frost Giants." Saphira interrupted.

"Indeed," Loki answered patiently. If it had been anyone else that interrupted him telling such a hard story, he would get angry, but not Saphira; Loki could never be mad at her, not even if she chose to walk away after he tells her what he is. "Please, darling, this is not easy for me to say, no interruption."

"I'm sorry, handsome," Saphira answered. Loki grinned a little at Saphira's old nickname for him, then his grin dropped.

"Don't be," Loki told her. "Yes, Thor did go anyway, and it leads to his banishment, but there is something you must know first, please do not think little of me for doing this, but I was the one that let the Frost Giants into the palace."

"Why?" Saphira asked.

"A part of me wanted to ruin Thor's big day, but mostly I wanted to show that Thor wasn't ready to be king," Loki answered. "He has grown far more arrogant and spoiled since you and Enid left, and I had tried everything to get Odin to agree to allow you and Enid back on Asgard, but he was stubborn about it, so, I thought if I proved Thor was not ready, then I would be pointed king until he was, or at least Mother would rule while Odin was in Odinsleep something he was long overdue for. As King, I would go over Odin and grant you and Enid permission to return home or talk Mother into it, and we could finally be together, something I did not trust Thor to do right, as you know he is an idiot." Loki paused in his story before going on.

"After their fight, I found Thor in the thorn room sitting on the steps in front of the throne; I took the chance to sit the next stage in my plan in motion, I sat next to Thor and fed him lines about how he was right and how I agreed with him, not Odin, it worked, Thor decided he was going to go into Jotunheim and demand answers, he talked Sif and The Warriors Three into going with him, I agreed also, but this is where my plan started to go wrong, on the way I told a guard to alert Odin to what we were doing, I had hoped he would stop us before getting there, and Thor would get into a lot of trouble, I didn't think that guard would be so slow about telling him nor did I believe Heimdall would give in to Thor so quickly and allow Thor and the rest of us to use the Bifrost to go to Jontunheim."

"You were counting on Heimdall, holding you up enough that it would give Odin time to get there and stop you." Saphira guessed.

"Indeed, I was." Loki agreed, "I did not believe we would make it to Jontuheim, we get to Heimdall, and I act like I am talking him into letting us go without really trying, but Thor got Heimdall to let us go. Once we get there, we all could tell it was a big mistake; Fandral even voiced it; Thor was the only one who didn't think we should turn back, so we go along with him until we get to Laufey. He gives us a chance to leave, to go, I talk Thor into taken it, but then he says something that made Thor mad, and suddenly we are all battling the Frost Giants, we are winning at first, but then we got outnumbered, and they let out some giant monster dog-like thing. We make a run for it, Odin finally shows up, Laufey declares war, and we are all taken back to Asgard, Thor and Odin get in a big fight, and Thor calls Odin an old fool and then Odin banishes him."

Loki let go of Saphira's hand and stood, then walked over to the tree and leaned against it, with his back to her.

"However you look at it, my plan either failed or worked a little too well, believe me, it never once crossed my mind, Odin would do something like banished his favorite son." Loki fell silent; Saphira stood up and walked over to him. She tentatively laid her hand on his back.

"Is this what you were afraid of me knowing?" She asked, "because I don't care about that, that's between you and Thor." She put her arms around his waist and turned her head, and laid her cheek on his back; and held him, trying to comfort Loki. They just stood there in silence for a while before Loki spoke again.

"I knew you would not care about that," Loki said. "But it is what all that lead to me discovering that I fear to tell you."

"Loki, I love you," Saphira said, raising her head. "I always have, and I always will; nothing will change that." Loki turned around so he could face her and smiled down at her.

"I hope you still feel that way after I tell you, I wish for no one to know of this, but if you are to be with me, it is only right for you to know," Loki told her.

"What is it?" Saphira asked. "You can tell me anything."

"I am not a child of Odin and Frigga," Loki said. "I am adopted and am not Asgardian."

"Then who's your real parents, do you know?" Saphira asked. Loki moved out of her arms and went back and sat down.

"I know who my father is," Loki said. He didn't look at her as he spoke. "It's Laufey."

"The King of Jotunheim?" Saphira asked, surprised. Loki didn't say anything, just nodded his head. "So, how did Odin and Frigga adopt you?"

"Odin said after the war he found me, I had been tossed out like rubbish and left to die because of my small size, I was a runt, tiny for a jotuun, they did not want me because of it," Loki explained. "Odin said when he picked me up; I changed my form to match an Asgardian, so he took me home; he claimed that it was out of the kindness of his heart, but that is a lie like my entire life has been, I was just another one of his relics to be locked up until he had use of me."

"Oh, Loki," Saphira said and went over and sat next to him; and gently laid her hand on his arm, trying to comfort him. "How did you find this out?"

"When we were fighting the Frost Giants in Jotunheim, one touched Volstagg on the arm, it left him with really bad frostbite, but when one touched my arm, it turned my arm blue," Loki explained. "It was only for a moment." He added as Saphira pushed up his sleeve to look at his arm. "I started having my suspicions then, could not get it out of my head, then after Thor was banished to Midgard, I went to Odin's vault. I picked up the Casket for a moment. I turned into my jotuun form, Odin found me, we fought over it, then he went into Odinsleep."

"I'm so sorry you had to find out that way." Saphira said, "They should have told you from the beginning." Saphira reached over and gently turned his head to look at her. "Your entire life hasn't been a lie; yeah, Odin lied to you, but I never have; you are my best friend and the love of my life, that has never been a lie. Our relationship has never been a lie."

"Are you not repulsed by me?" Loki asked.

"Of course not," Saphira said. "I am surprised by all this, but that doesn't matter to me, I still want to be with you, and nothing is going to change that, I promise."

"But I am a monster," Loki said. "The thing from a child's nightmares."

"You are not a monster." Saphira snapped. "And I never want to hear you call yourself that again."

"I am a Jotuun," Loki argued. "A Frost Giant."

"I don't care." Saphira assures him, then her eyes widened, "He knew."

"Pardon?" Loki asked.

"My father, he must have known," Saphira said. "That's why he tried so hard to keep us apart; he hated Frost Giants, he must have found out at some point." Saphira suddenly grew angrier. "And he didn't think that you deserved to know the truth. He was even more of a bastard than I thought."

"He wanted to keep you from me because he found out I was Jotuun," Loki said. "Makes sense now. He saw me as a monster like everyone else on Asgard would have."

"You are not a monster," Saphira said. "Please, stop calling yourself that."

"Am a Frost Gaint," Loki mumbled, picking at his left hand.

"So?" Saphira asked, "That doesn't make you a monster. You are still Loki; you were raised on Asgard, you are a Prince of Asgard, God of Mischief, son of Odin and Frigga, brother of Thor, and no matter what or where you were born, nothing will change that."

Neither of them said anything for a long moment, then Saphira decided to voice her annoyance at Odin.

"So, let me get this straight, Asgard could be on the brink of war, Thor one of its best fighters and the eldest prince is banished to Midgard with no powers, same time you discover the lie Odin kept from you all your life, and no offense but could cause some mistrust among the Asgardians if they find out their currently active King's true heritage, and Odin decides to...what? Take a nap?" Saphira demanded.

"That about sums it up," Loki replied.

"How...convenient," Saphira remarked, raising the corner of her lip.

"Indeed," Loki replied. Then he stood up and turned around, reached his hand down to help Saphira to her feet, then pulled her into a hug and held her tightly.

"I was scared I might lose you," Loki said.

"You could be Midgardain for all I care. I would still want to be with you." Saphira said. Loki chuckled at that and then pulled away from her a little.

"Did you hate Midgard that much?" Loki asked. Saphira smiled a little as she reached up and wiped the tears from Loki's face.

"No, it wasn't that bad living there," Saphira said. "Midgardians are easy to please. Lately, all I've had to do was get on stage and do a few fire tricks, and they were ready to worship me. "

"Let me guess you exaggerated how much you disliked Midgard to annoy your sister?" Loki asked. Saphira shrugged.

"Watching her get angry over the millionth time I voiced hating Midgard was amusing," Saphira answered. Loki laughed and took his hands and once again pushed her hair out of her face, then frowned as he noticed she was shivering a little.

"I know I look awful at the moment," Saphira said as she looked down at her wet and muddy clothes.

"You look gorgeous," Loki told her. Saphira laughed a little and tugged on the front of Loki's coat; it and his shirt had muddy and wet spots from hugging her.

"And you look gorgeous, too, handsome." Saphira said, "I got you all muddy." Loki just grinned at her, his emerald eyes sparkling as he slipped his jacket off and put it around Saphira's shoulders; she slipped her arms Into the sleeves.

"I am your king." Loki teased; Saphira gave him a teasing smile.

"Guess you want me to kneel to you?" Saphira teased, Loki's grinned widened.

"Of course not." Loki said, "But as King, I do override Odin's ban; you and Enid are now allowed back on Asgard."

"Thank you," Saphira said. "You couldn't imagine how much I have missed Asgard, and especially you."

"Are you ready to go home, my Queen?" Loki asked, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer to him.

"Yes, " Saphira answered as Loki bent down and touched his lips to hers. When he pulled apart, Loki waved his arm, and suddenly the palace appeared in the distance; they had been on Asgard this whole time.

AN There is explained why Saphira hates her father so much; I didn't like doing that to her but wanted another reason for Saphira to be like she is.

I haven't seen the first Thor movie in a while, so I kind of forgot about the worthy spell being put on the hammer until after I wrote and went over this chapter, so we'll say in my story you always had to be worthy to lift it, Odin just added the part about having the powers of Thor when stripping him of them.
