AN- Sorry for the lacks of updates but i had an important exam and couldn't find time to write. Here it is the new chapter and i hope you enjoy it. The next one would be at the school fair that would of course be totally different from the one in season two. Ryan would meet Lindsay here and Marissa would go with TJ. I would like to know if you would like some kind of Summer/Zach relationship or if you would prefer that they stay single when i make them broke up (just for a couple of chapters i promise).
The first day of the new school year is here and it is the first time that Seth Cohen is happy to be at Harbor, he knows that he would still suffer some bullying but with Ryan, Summer and Marissa by his side he would be protected.
Speaking of the devil, his girlfriend and Marissa walks arm in arm to them so they can all go to American History together. That, along with French, are the only classes that the four of them share this year. Summer pecks his lips and grabs his hand while she keeps talking to Marissa about the next Channel autumn-winter collection so he keeps talking to Ryan about the new Marvel movie and his great idea of returning to the comic club.
"Think about this man, we would be the presidents, well, I would be president and you vice president and we can have some other classmates join the club and have weekly reunions to discuss the next issues and conventions and things like that. Imagine it Ryan"
"Oh Cohen, you would be the only participants of that club, you know?"
"Haha, my little Summer, you are hilarious" he pecks her lips but let go of her hand because they are at the classroom "Sit here by me Sum, will ya? And I am sure I have a couple of freaks at my art classes from last year that would be interested"
The first day ends and at evening Ryan and Seth relax on the pool and have dinner with their parents but before that, by five, Seth calls Dr. Kim, to let her know of the new club and its participants and she says that they could start it on Wednesday.
So, two days later, after class, they are in the study room discussing what to do when an athletic boy with long brown hair and blue eyes stop by their table and Seth is sure he would make fun of him because he is one of the water polo players but nothing further from the truth, he wants to join their club.
"You? A water polo player, wants to join our comic books club? Pardon me but I can't believe it"
"Well, yes, I can love sports and also comics and sci-fi books and well, I hear that Ryan here is a football player"
"Well, that was last year, I am not sure if I would continue this year but yes, you have a point"
So they enter in a discussion of comics and Marvel movies and the hour ends soon but they keep chatting because they have great things in common and Zach seems interesting, until to Seth he is not.
"Well, I came back this year after a two-year schooling in French while I was living with my grandfather and I am looking back to this new year. I remember you Seth, from when we were younger but we were in different classes, if not, I would have spoken to you. I am sorry that all my team is so dense sometimes" he keeps talking about his life until he come to the matter of girls he likes "Well, I have had the hots for Summer Roberts for years but people from the team told me that she is dating a geek for a year, I bet she would let him for me in an instant"
And to this Seth spit his coffee into Zach's shirt
"Seth! What was that for? Watch it!"
"No Zach, you watch it man. Just so you know, I hope that Summer doesn't leave that geek for you because the geek that she has been dating for almost a year is me and my confession of love was over the top of romantic so, watch it"
Seth stands up and leave the table, Ryan following him but Zach is not far behind and he catch them soon, grabbing Seth's arm.
"Listen Seth, I am sorry ok? I didn't know that it was you the one she was dating and I like you and Ryan and I don't want any hostility between us, please"
"Zach, Summer is the one for me and yes, I want to be your friend too but just, don't ruin anything" they shake hands "Deal man, and know we should go because Summer and Marissa must be waiting for us Ryan"
Once they are at the parking lot they see Summer and Marissa talking by their respective cars.
"Hey Summer, hey Marissa, this is Zach, the new member of the comic club" Zach politely wave at the girls and they smile in return but Seth can't help but notice Zach blushing when Summer wave at him "And he is a water polo player too"
"Wow Cohen, it would be the first time that someone from that team would not make fun of you ah?"
"Yeah my little Summer, it's unbelievable how different this year is going compared to the last" he kisses Summer's cheek and grabs her hand "What are our plans for today?"
Marissa is the one to answer his question: "Well, I would drive Ryan to your place since he has some homework to do and I am meeting a friend"
"Yes, and you and I are going on a date since we don't have homework, what do you think about a movie and some dinner later?"
"I say yes Sum, you know I can't resist to a good movie and some burgers"
"Well, what if I tell you that I would be the one choosing the movie? A rom-com obviously, even if you secretly love them"
"Wha-what?" Seth makes a fake hurtful face "That's not true Summer, I absolutely hate that type of movies"
Ryan and Marissa chuckle at the attempt of getting himself out of that hole and Zach just watch the scene in awe of the friendship of the four teenagers. They say their goodbyes and while Ryan and Marissa get in Marissa's car; Seth and Summer say goodbye to Zach and stay for a little while making out besides Summer's car.
After a while Seth just hug Summer and then they get into her car and she takes them to the movies on South Coast Plaza where they watch Troya, Seth only has to say that Brad Pitt is in the movie to get Summer on board. And after the movie they grab some burgers to end a very good date.
"Cohen, are you excited for the school fair on Friday? We are totally sharing a kiss on the Ferris Wheel like Coop and Chino last year"
"Oh Summer, of course I am excited because I am going to beat you at every game and how sad it is that they would not go together to the fair?"
"Don't start now Seth, they are good as friends and they should get back together if it is what they think is best for them" she drinks her smoothie and then looks at him excited "But tell me about this Zach fella, is he a good guy or a total jackass like every water polo player?"
"He is gret, he is funny and he likes comics"
And that is what makes Summer instantly suspicious, because Seth should be rambling about this new friend and his like for comics so she looks intently at him.
"What? Says Seth
"Spill it Cohen, something is wrong and you are trying to hide it from me"
"Why you know me sooo well? It's not fair Summer, it is not" After one of Summer's famous death glares Seth spills the truth "While we were talking about comics and school and last year, he said something that made me...well, dislike him"
"What? Why? He seems like you but athletic and charismatic"
"Oh haha, funny Summer, very funny. I think we should pay and then take me home; I am done with this conversation"
"No Cohen c'mon, you know I love how corky you are, spill it, c'mon"
"Well, I dislike him because he said that he had the hots for you and he planned to take you away from this geek you were dating"
"Oh, Oh, are you jealous Cohen?"
"Wha...What? Me? Jealous? Of course, not my little Summer, I am just intimidated by this handsome, tall and muscular boy that play sports and is charismatic like you just said while I am just me: skinny, dorky, geek, loser and all of that"
Summer stands up, goes inside to pay for their table and once she is again at the table, she takes Seth's hand and take him to the car. Once inside she grabs his chin between her tiny fingers and pull his lips to hers. After a long and sweet kiss Seth just looks at her confused.
"When I was falling in love with you, I had a lot of athletic, muscular and idiots water polo players behind me, trying to get in my pants and you were dating a girl that was exactly like you and totally what everyone will think as your type but no, I didn't choose any of those boys when you declared your love for me in front of all the school and you didn't choose Anna" she kiss him again "I chose you because I love you and because you are funny, smart, generous and handsome"
"Handsome? I am no handsome Summer"
"Cohen, you should stop thinking so low about yourself. I think you are handsome, yes, you have beautiful brown eyes because they have some sparks of blue sometimes, thanks to both your parents having blue eyes and your lips, they are phenomenal and not only because you are a great kisser, that you are. I am with you because I think you are handsome, attractive, funny, smart and I even love you when you are an idiot because you are my idiot"
Seth is trying to process that Summer Roberts is the one telling all of these beautiful things about him because for six years of his life he thought that Summer would never talk to him but here she is, saying that she loves him and is in love with him.
