Summary of chapter 3: Celeste is going to help smuggle America out of the hospital.
America's pov:
At 7:50, I ring for the nurses and doctors that take care of me.
"I'm really tired today, so can you guys not come until tomorrow morning?"
"But miss-"
"That's an order." I add quickly, and argue some more, until they promise me. As soon as I'm alone, I stuff pillows under my blankets,
to make it look like I'm sleeping under the covers. I put the IV on the pillow, then, I head out the back stair, so no one finds me. I spot
Celeste's car right away, it's a red sports car. "Get in!" she calls out, and I jump in the car. She starts the engine, and I see a sleek
black car, and i panic. I'm sure Maxon saw me through the window, and Celeste notices, she speeds down the road, "GO, go, go '' I yell,
and she goes faster. "My gas's almost down."
"It's fine, go down that tunnel." And she does. As we near the end, I see Natalie. "Stop!" I yell, and she screeches to a stop. I'm
surprised that it worked so easily. "Get off, and swap cars. I'll call you. Meet me a week from now at Celeste's place, and we can swap
back." I say, and we rush into changing our vehicles. I get in the driver's seat, and we speed, Maxon's car is still tailing Natalie's and I
feel bad, only for a second. When we reach Celeste's house, She fake tans my skin, so I look sun-kissed, and pulls out a powder
package.
"What's that?"
"I'm not dumb, we're going to dye your hair, with my custom made formula. I made it, and when you add this to your shampoo, and
after you washed your hair, your hair will be a completely different color." I'm shocked, and while i think, she already mixed the powder
into a shampoo, and forced me to shower with it. I do, and by the time I come out, my hair is golden brown, and with my tanned sun
kissed skin, I look like I'm from a fairytale.
