The Cradle Will Rock
Summary: Sofia is abducted in the dead of night by none other than Greeneyes, an evil enchantress who has plans for the princess's unborn child.

A/N: *WARNING* I'm just going to keep this warning here until further notice. Sensitive material ahead, as always, with this story… This is more about Greeneyes and her interaction with the unborn child.
Chapter 5: Emerald Eyes
Greeneyes stalked into her own secret realm via a magical portal, haphazardly tossing Cedric's and Sofia's unborn baby into the air, allowing the little one to hover midair among thousands of other floating unborn children.
She huffed as she stepped up to a mirror, looking over her injury after she'd fallen on the stone floor earlier. "Ugh, that's what I get for going in this stupid human body." She stepped back, closing her eyes, and shed the exterior shell that was her disguise. Now, all that remained was a nearly solid cloud of darkness, unabashedly formed into the shape of a woman, and those taunting green eyes, that most certainly belonged to her. "There, that's better…" She turned and gazed at her collection of sacrifices, chuckling lowly as she admired her work. "Let's see… Let's eliminate you three today," she mumbled, sending a negative blast toward three random hovering unborn children, and watching as they were incinerated by a thick green flame in the distance. "Ah, my master is pleased… But we can do better…"
She frowned as she noticed out of the corner of her eye a soft glow surrounding the most recent unborn child she'd stolen. She walked up to it, glaring down at the encased orb. "Intriguing," she muttered, her dark form shifting a bit to form a solid hand, holding it over the child. "You're different, aren't you? Given your origins, that's not so surprising…" She sneered, "Perhaps I'll just keep you for myself and raise you to follow in my footsteps. You'll destroy hopes and dreams, demolish whole kingdoms, and prey on the weak and innocent… And you'll have emerald eyes, just like your mother…"
She cursed loudly after attempting to touch the encased baby, startled when a jolt of electricity zapped her. She then yelled as she was blasted backwards by a powerful force, her back hitting hard against a pillar, cracking it upon impact. "Attack me, will you?" She pulled herself into a standing position, laughing incredulously at the incident. "Fine… Just for that, I'll stick to my original plan: I'll extract your magic, I'll sacrifice you, and then I'll kill your mother… Your real mother."
She whirled around, waving one darkened hand in the air, forming something of a looking glass, narrowing her eyes as she saw Cedric walking along the corridor with Sofia cradled in his arms, Merlin directly behind him. "So, she's been rescued, has she? No matter. She was easy enough to locate the first time." She slammed her fist into the glass, smashing it to pieces, the jagged edges distorting the image of the trio before her. "It won't take much to find her again…and kill her."
