Weiss rubbed the sleep from her eyes as she tried to stay awake in Port's class. Bad enough he has to ramble on about his conquests. But on top of that, did his family have a terrible sense of irony. Port? And a big belly. Weiss groaned, last night, the illustrious team leader Ruby had been at her obnoxious workbench working all night on some project that was quote on quote none of their business. Such a crass woman, keeping to herself. So much for leadership. Breakfast was a nightmare, mostly because she didn't even bother waking us up...at least not in the usual way. WHO THE FUCK WAKES SOMEONE UP WITH FUCKING BOMBS?! Exercise my…. no Weiss don't let her get to you. You're a schnee, remember you're a proud and mighty Schnee. You will get through this, no matter what she throws at you. Besides, she stole all the good stuff by the time we got there.
Weiss glared at the said girl, who was sitting not too far away from her. Her stomach grumbled thinking about the delicious food she had missed out on, by the time they caught up to Ruby. Then their leader had rushed off before they could get a word in edgewise, straight to class. She was drinking what looked like coffee and was sketching in a book. Weiss couldn't quite make out what the reaper was drawing, and didn't care to look too much into it.
"Now I may seem like a simple teacher to all of you today. But there was a time when I, Peter Port, was a frontier huntsman. I went out there, fought beasts you've never seen or heard of. Like the time I fought the grand beast of Vacuo, It was larger than any bulkhead I've ever seen, dwarfing entire buildings. I was alone back to back. Can any of you guess what I did next?" He asked drawing on the board. There was an awkward cough amidst the silence. It wasn't hard to see why no one took him seriously, with his white hair and overly poofy mustache. What someone might have seen as regal, was dampened by his overly jolly demeanor and portly body. The man also never seemed to open his eyes. He dressed up in fancy reddish-brown clothes, making him seem disingenuous. Ruby herself had commented that his weapon was a trash tier weapon. His weapon being a simple two-handed ax that was also a vintage blunderbuss.
Weiss wanted to think better of her teacher since unlike others she could name. She was taking this seriously. She glared at Yang who was snoring in class, the girl had stayed up all night, hanging out with some 'friends.' Blake was about the only other one taking the class seriously. Weiss was surprised when her teacher pointed at her. Thinking on the question he had asked her. "Naturally you must have lured it into a trap, robbing it of its advantage. Knowing that the beast is considered a giant worm in Vacuo. That would mean taking it somewhere it couldn't move, like the mountains." Weiss said with a smile.
"Good logic Snowflake. But no," Ruby said without looking up from her sketchbook. "He ran, and got his team to back him the fuck up." Weiss glared at being interrupted by her leader. She was practically steaming.
"Correct Miss Rose. I did indeed retreat and regrouped with my team. From there, like Miss Schnee pointed out, we guided the great monster to the mountains to rob it of its advantage." He exhaled as he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing a large ugly scar on his stomach that shocked the rest of the class. "However, things didn't go as planned. The creatures of Grimm that you see beyond the walls of the kingdoms are far more dangerous and smarter than any you've foughten inside. There are even legends of those that speak, my team and I had been in this profession for many years. But even the most experienced of huntsmen can be felled. What we didn't realize about the beast, was that it could smell what we couldn't in that mountain, it used the dust in some landlines to take us off guard." Port rebuttoned his shirt. "Grimm aren't just mindless monsters, they are predators that hunt humans and faunus alike, their intelligence isn't that of mere animals. They are hatred and malice given sentience. I was lucky to escape with my life, my team though…" Port quieted. "Well, that was rather...Grim of me." He chuckled at the pun, Yang whooped at the pun, much to Weiss' dismay, she facepalmed at the thought of being on the team she was on.
Port pulled up some slideshows, showing several variations of Grimm. From the Nevermore, the terrors of the skies, the beowolves, a frequent menace on the outskirts of Vale. Ursa, and Deathstalker, and the list kept on. "All Grimm share some similarities." Port began, showing graphic pictures of live Grimm being dissected. It was disgusting much to the Heiress' dismay, she felt like she wanted to vomit. "They have excellent vision suited to night time, but struggle to see in daylight. They can easily be blinded by bright flashbangs. They have keen senses like that of wild animals, though this varies amongst them. None of them truly possess internal organs, save for that which gives them their senses. They have no muscle or bone structure, they are more akin to insects. The material that forms their mask and fangs isn't calcium-based, it is something entirely unique to the Grimm. Strong yet light and durable and able to pierce through solid steel." Port kept switching over slideshows. "Beyond that, Grimm can differ between the types. From pack mentality to solo mentality, and no two Grimm are truly alike outside beyond the walls. As Grimm grow over the years they live, they don't just become smarter, they evolve and change." Weiss noticed a blurry picture of a kind of Grimm she had never seen, hearing a gasp she turned around saw Nora covering her face with a look of shock, while Lie Ren sitting next to her clenched his fists, an odd gesture for someone so calm. "The Grimm that you saw in that forest, and the Grimm you hear of in the kingdom are mere children compared to those out in the wild. We can go over more of this later." The bell rang and everyone bustled out of the class. "Oh and Miss Xiaolong, I know my lessons may be boring. But after your lessons are finished for today, don't forget to go to detention." Port said with a disapproving motion of his mustache. Yang winced at that but nodded along with it.
History Class
Professor Oobleck seemed winded, as he rushed around still putting his documents in order. Weiss raised an eyebrow at this, originally he was supposed to be the first teacher after history. But due to some complications, he had been behind schedule.
"NowthenletsseewherewasI." The man spoke so fast that his words blended together. "Ah yes well. You're probably wondering what this class is needed for. Well for starters children. History is important more than you realize. We have four distinct kingdoms, but there is more than that. Menagerie, the Tribes outside the kingdoms, and not all of you have traveled to every kingdom, nor are you familiar with them. So it's my job to give you a good overview of the world we live in. Otherwise, you will be lost even with a scroll in the palm of your hands." The man chuckled. "But for today we will do something easy, I want you all to write about your life so far. And why you chose to become a huntsmen." He then zoomed to his desk and took out a large thermos of coffee. Weiss was beaming as she thought of how to tell her glorious life story. The hour passed by easily as she fancily wrote her story, the font was so fancy that it took her a painstaking amount of time to write down the first paragraph.
The bell rang, and Weiss sweated as she realized she made her work too fancy looking and didn't actually get a lot of work done. She gulped. The shadow of Oobleck hovered over her. "Well, Miss Schnee, what do you have for me?" Weiss smiled weakly as she handed the paper to him, it was out of her hand faster than she could blink. She didn't think she could be intimidated by such a tall skinny disorganized man with big messy spiky green hair and glasses that made his eyes hard to see. But the speed at which he moved, and his rapid talk made it hard to get a good read on him. "Hmmthisisn'talotmissschneebutatleastyouputineffort.F." He turned on his heel and zoomed away. Weiss' mood was souring more by the minute.
Lunch
The snowflake stabbed at her food in annoyance. She was sitting alone at her table, Ruby had gone off somewhere with Jaune. Yang was sitting at a table with her friends, laughing and partying. She didn't even know where Blake was…
"Hello," Blake spoke from behind her, making the heiress leap up in shock, sending her knife flying. The mysterious ebony beauty caught the knife effortlessly, and then put it back slowly on the napkin. "Do you greet everyone that way?" Blake smirked as she sat on the other side of Weiss, taking out a book. Ninjas of Love Five: The Katana of Shadows.
"Belladonna," Weiss said icily.
"Schnee," Blake replied back nonchalantly turning a page. Weiss was quiet for a few more seconds until she finally spoke up.
"These teachers… are they really…" Weiss couldn't finish her sentence. But the frustration was evident in her words.
"Hunstmen?" Blake asked with a raised eyebrow, not looking up from her book once. Something about that ticked Weiss off, her crystal blue eyes sparking in annoyance.
"They just seem so… common." Weiss struggled to express her feelings.
"Hmm, very elitist of you. Have you ever actually interacted with actual Hunstmen? Besides your own family?" She punctuated the last word with a smirk.
"If I didn't know any better. It would seem like you don't consider my family real Huntsmen." Weiss said gripping her knife tightly.
"Not every Huntress or Hunstman comes from some prestigious family. That also owns the largest business organization on Remnant. Even Ruby's own mother, the number one huntress isn't some rich woman." Blake chuckled as Weiss' eye twitched at the mention of Ruby. "What's the matter, Schnee? Are all your expectations being subverted?" Blake put down her book with a smug catty grin.
"I expected higher standards for the saviors of humanity," Weiss replied slamming her knife into the table, she then comedically struggled to yank the knife back out.
"Well. It's not a pretty job. That's never been a secret. It's not like Huntresses are modern-day knights, we're more or less hired mercenaries that kill monsters. We don't really answer to any real authority save for the kingdoms vaguely. We're independent for the most part." Blake said with a shrug. Weiss grumbled as she struggled to pull the knife out. "The world isn't exactly all shiny and high up in the clouds like your precious atlas." Blake then reached over and pulled the knife out. Weiss blinked and fumed.
"For your information. Atlas isn't all shiny." The heiress bit back.
"Yet it must be so easy to look down on everyone," Blake replied back casually.
"You act like you know me." Weiss snapped standing up haughtily, hating how shorter she was than Blake.
"I could say the same for you. Since you called Port and Oobleck what was it again? Common?" Weiss huffed at the critical hit. Blake smirked at her victory against the Heiress. "Besides, you're the famous Weiss Schnee. There probably isn't a single person who hasn't heard you sing on remnant. Your family owns all the dust, and you keep bragging about being a schnee, and you share a room with me and our other teammates. Hard to not have an inkling of who you are." Blake winked.
"So what? That makes you better than me for seeing the world as it is?" Weiss said annoyed.
"Better? I am not childish to be petty enough to act like I am better. I just find it funny that you have enough investment for that." And with that, Blake got out of her seat and walked away with a confident sway in her hips. Weiss' face turned red out of a mixture of anger and embarrassment. How dare she… Weiss fumed, wondering why she had ever come to this school in the first place!
Sparring Class
Trudging to the class had been somewhat annoying. Weiss was still fuming from her match with Blake. That smug woman. I won't lose to her, not with my pride on the line. Though at the very least, Weiss could respect the odd girl. Unlike Ruby, she wasn't some disgrace of a human being. When I think of huntress prodigy, I think of Winter. The perfect huntress, refined, elegant, regal. It was only bad luck that she failed to become a huntress. Someone like Ruby though. The thought made her blood boil. Why could someone like that become a huntress where her awe-inspiring sister had failed?
Entering the classroom, she saw Glynda alongside another woman. The woman was mousier than Glynda, with messy auburn hair, and tanned skin, and light pink eyes.
"Welcome children. This is my assistant Professor Peach. I will teach you the combat side of things. Such as techniques and actual skill. But Professor Peach can teach you all about Dust and Weapon engineering. Don't be afraid to approach her." Glynda said in a stern tone that made it clear that not going to Peach was not an option.
"It's good to meet you all." Peach said with an air of bubbliness out clutching some books to her chest.
"Now then, since today is a simple lesson. I won't drill any complex maneuvers into your skulls just yet. For now, follow me." She walked at a brisk pace, the students walking after her. She could surprisingly move fast despite the high heels. They moved to another area outside of the gym slash arena.
"You saw these on initiation day. As a reminder, this room is for both your lockers and equipment when not in use. Now while you all get changed and dressed, I will go and arrange some random matches. If you have any other questions. Professor Peach is more than up to the task of answering the questions. But don't think you can get up to any mischief while I am away." She said with a sharp glance that could cut through any building. Everyone nodded in affirmation. Once Glynda was gone, Peach began speaking up.
"Right well, you know where the changing rooms are. I will just be over here~" Peach laughed a little, as the boys and girls went to their lockers.
Weiss sighed as she entered the changing room with her team, and the girls from team JNPR. Having grown up in an isolated living situation, she had never really been able to be around others all that much. She tried not to think about how she was stripping to her underwear from her school uniform and dressing up in her combat uniform. She tried to not stare at any of the other girls. Though she did get a slight peek of her fellow girls.
Nora had powerful thighs.
Yang of course had two sacks of fat, that didn't make Weiss feel inferior thank you very much!
As if she cared to look at Blake's pale skin, and the bow she never removed.
Pyrrha was amazing as usual, with legs that seemed to go on for days and the shape she kept it. Weiss shook her head, looking the other way. It was rude to stare at someone for so long.
Then there was Ruby, still smoking a cigarette, but the girl was buff. Not some jacked bodybuilder, but her arms made Weiss' arms look like noodles in comparison. And Weiss felt intimidated noticing a scar on Ruby's left arm that were three claw marks. As though she had been clawed by a monster, but the heiress looked away when she spotted silver eyes looking her in the eye.
"Jealous Snowflake?" Ruby smirked, and Weiss exhaled in annoyance. And focused on just getting dressed.
"Up next. Weiss Schnee vs Jaune Arc. For this round, no semblances or dust. Remember the rules, ring out or aura drops too low. Then the fight is over. Begin!"
Weiss eyed up her opponent with a critical eye. Jaune flinched under her intense gaze, and Weiss felt disgusted by him. That messy hair, those jeans, the way he hunches over. Why is a coward like him trying to be a huntsman?! Weiss felt something snap in her, all day she had been dealing with people that felt like mockeries of the noble profession that her sister and her mother, and countless schnees before her had held the proud legacy of. It felt like that legacy was being spat on before her very eyes, she couldn't take it anymore!
Weiss got into her stance, and remained calm and collected on the outside despite the burning hatred she felt on the inside. Jaune for his part held up a gray-looking tower shield, as though hiding behind it, his sword pointed at her, but his grip was shaky. This won't even be a fight. Weiss held her rapier and took a few steps forward slowly at first. Jaune reacted, as his blade fired off a shot, Weiss danced around the bullet and dashed in at him.
Jaune raised his shield to block, and his mistake came from being rooted in place as Weiss kept up her momentum, and was behind him before he could even realize what was going on. He felt a stabbing motion from his back, as Weiss pierced through his aura, luckily his armored breastplate absorbed the blow. But the force of the strike sent him flying forward, Jaune stumbled as he tried to get his balance back. Weiss smoothly walked after him quickly, almost gliding as she appeared at his side. For Jaune, it was like she was a blur, but to Weiss. Even when Jaune was falling it was like he was slow. She kicked him viciously sending him flying, but she wasn't going to let him ring out, and get away from her frustrations. She raced the flying blonde, and appeared on the other side of him from his perspective, stabbing him in the neck, Jaune coughed up blood but wasn't wounded.
Though that was the least of his worries as he was sent flying close to the edge, he could feel his ears ringing. He shakily stood up, trying to hold his shield up in a defensive pattern. Just remember what Pyrrha advised you about, you have a lot of aura. Just spread it all over your body and weather it. Jaune hadn't had much time to learn from Pyrrha, but she had given him enough basics to use his aura as a good shield. But right now he had the feeling that wasn't going to help him. And he was right, as Weiss appeared dangerously close to the edge of the ring, and then stabbed through his defense hitting him square in the chest, but she held onto his shield, keeping him from completely ringing out. Jaune was petrified with fear and pain, his aura kept him from getting seriously injured, but the force of her attacks was too much for him. She then kept stabbing him repeatedly over and over. He lost track of all time, maybe it was a few seconds and she was stabbing him a million times or maybe she was just that strong. He didn't even notice his own aura breaking, nor did Weiss. But luckily for everyone, Glynda did. And before Weiss could stab Jaune fatally, a purple aura paralyzed Weiss as Glynda took hold of her.
"That's enough Miss Schnee," Glynda said with heavy disapproval in her voice. "You will go to detention. Along with Miss Xiaolong." She said with no room for disagreement. Weiss felt her face heating up from being scolded so severely, but she nodded quietly. Then Glynda released her from the hold.
"You okay?" Weiss blinked when she heard Yang speak. The blonde brawler was helping Jaune up from the ground. When he stood, he was shaking, unable to hold his weapons. The heiress felt just a little pity for how harshly she had treated Jaune. But she remained silent as Yang talked to him.
"I grew up with Seven Sisters. I could always tell when they were angry about something or upset. And well…" Jaune chuckled embarrassed. "They weren't bad but sometimes they needed someone to vent to or on. So yeah." He said with a painful wince.
"I get it, just uh go to the nurse. See about getting some ice there." Yang patted him on the shoulder and sent him away, Weiss looked away not wanting to see him limp away. "So Weiss Cream. You okay?" Yang asked in a cheerful voice.
"I am perfectly fine," Weiss replied coolly her rapier collapsed and she was able to put it up in her pouch.
"Righttttt. Nice try Weiss Cream, but I've lived with Ruby my whole life. You're not fooling me." Yang said with a boisterous laugh. "C'mon we gotta head to detention otherwise I doubt even the kinkiest person would like how Glynda punishes us." Yang grinned.
"It's just Weiss. Not Weiss Cream." Weiss said with a growl.
"Hey take it easy. I am just playing with ya." Yang held up her hands in mock surrender.
"I am not interested in these inane games," Weiss said annoyed.
"Would it kill you to take it easy? Things aren't that bad here, we got decent food, and plenty of free time after and before lessons. Seems chill to me." Yang said holding her hands behind her back in a carefree manner as they walked down the hallways.
"It's a joke. I chose to be a huntress, the best of the best. And yet my teachers are either incompetent or let things slide too easily. And that sister of yours and everyone else feels more like vagabonds from all walks of life. It makes no sense!" Weiss threw her hands up in the air.
"No offense Ice Queen. But that's how the world works, people are weird, loud, messy, and will piss you off." Yang replied back, making Weiss look at her with annoyance. "But the thing is, there are also people that will try to help you out. People that aren't total pieces of shit once you really get to know them. You just gotta actually put forth the effort you know." Yang said with a shrug. "I know we haven't known each other for long, but I am willing to give you a shot so long as you give me a shot." Yang lightly punched Weiss' shoulder.
"...I see," Weiss said while rubbing her shoulder. "You act like I should be friends with everyone. But I didn't come here to make friends. I came to be a huntress." Weiss said icily.
"Yeah well. News flash Weiss Cream. No Huntsmen ever truly works alone. And right now you're on a team, sure Ruby is a little standoffish. So you gotta speak up to her, I will join ya. And we can do some team exercises, it will be good to bond with you know. Because don't forget they will grade us as a team." Yang bluntly reminded the heiress. "So maybe instead of looking down on everyone, and judging them by your own standards. You could at least try to meet them halfway, it's not like anyone is forcing you to be like them. But that's just my viewpoint, I can't tell you what to do." Yang yawned casually as she strolled into the detention hall.
Weiss wasn't sure what to make of the Brawler, she had assumed Yang was just lazy and did nothing with her life. But the manner in which Yang composed herself, could Weiss dare say that Yang had more composure than even her? Weiss shook her head not willing to concede that someone might be better at something than her. But at the same time, maybe there was more to the blonde than meets the eye. And I suppose she does have a point… But I am not lowering my standards, I am better than that. I am a schnee for brother's sake! Weiss huffed as she sat down ready to get detention over with. Though she didn't mind sitting next to the blonde brawler.
A/N: And another chapter is done. Sorry for the exposition dumps. Had to get them out of the way to show the purpose of each and every class. And give foreshadowing to the fact I am going to have more fun with Grimm-type enemies down the line.
As for why this was a Weiss chapter? Well one thing that always bugged me about RWBY, was aside from Ruby not getting development. Neither did the rest of her team. I mean the most we got was Weiss being reprimanded by Port, learning to summon and then running away from her dad… and that's it. At least as far as I could see.
Now I am not bashing the show. And will never claim to be better. But if I am telling my version of the story, on top of having fun with it. I want to write characters I enjoy while staying true to them. Right now Weiss is going to be a snob, because yeah despite her tragic backstory in the white trailer in the separate NFG trailers story. She was still raised in the high class. So that is a whole arc she has to go through, instead of changing from one episode to the next.
Unlike that trailer chapter though, tried to put more humor in this one XD since season one should be the funniest.
Oof didn't mean to make such a long author's note. So next chapter is a Blake chapter, and so far I am loving making Blake this kind of sarcastic, catty gal. Hope you guys like my take on her as well.
Until next time, Stenv signing off.

Ruby and Pyrrha watched as the fighting began. "100 hundred Lien on the snowflake." Ruby said right away.
"I don't know, I think Jaune could surprise us." Pyrrha said, as Jaune managed to shoot first. "He got the first move in." Pyrrha said in approval.
"Pyrrha... look I know you think he's cute. But the dude is a dumbass. He still missed the shot, and even if he has some huge fucking aura. He still has a long way to go." Ruby said with a shrug, as the fight continued on.
"I that's..." Pyrrha blushed.
"Hmm I will have to readjust the weight of his weapons later or try something else out." Ruby muttered under her breath. "Oof she got a combo in." Ruby winced at the brutal beating Weiss was inflicting on Jaune. Pyrrha cringed at that, but resisted the urge to leap in. "Don't get me wrong, the jackass with an aura that strong, could make a fearsome huntsman. But he's too slow, too clumsy, and you only taught him how to tank huh?" Ruby raised an eyebrow at how little Jaune moved. Pyrrha blushed looking to the side.
"I didn't have much time to teach him when he approached me. It's a simple move, spread your aura around you like a forcefield." Pyrrha pointed out.
"Yeah that's good for noobs who don't have to do anything. But that burns through Aura real quickly, on top of using semblance, taking and dishing out hits. At this rate, Weiss is going to turn him into swiss cheese." Ruby winced as Jaune got sent flying.
"She does seem rather frustrated..." Pyrrha said slowly.
"Gee who would've thought that giving a young adult who isn't even old enough to drink yet, a highly lethal weapon would be a bad idea?" Ruby said sarcastically when Pyrrha looked at her with a questioning expression. "Not to mention we're all brothers damned kids, no shit some of us have anger issues. Me though, I am constructive in my pissed off nature." Ruby said with a cheeky grin. "And Glynda in for the save, Fatality." Ruby laughed.
"He could have died." Pyrrha said with a sweat drop.
"No he couldn't. Glynda was watching the whole time, and the dominatrix isn't going to let some kid die on her watch. She's not that much of a bitch." Ruby said with a shrug. Pyrrha went to go walk into the arena but Ruby put a strong hand on her shoulder. "Don't baby him Pyrrha. He's not a child, despite his baby face. Have a little more faith, let him get patched up and rebuild his confidence. Else we might get a very mopey blonde and I've seen too much of that for one fucking lifetime." Ruby shuddered remembering Yang in her angsty days, so many tubs of ice cream.
"I am just looking out for my teammates." Pyrrha replied.
"A few bruises ain't going to hurt him. He could use some hurt pride, it will make him grow as a person." Ruby shot back. "He's gotta be able to get through this on his own, otherwise he will just see you and everyone else as friends. And nothing more." Ruby patted Pyrrha on the shoulder and walked away, leaving the spartan to think things over.
