A crash landing story.

This is supposed to be a simple mission, checking for a suitable base for the Alliance and then report it back.

Who knows that the moment Luke jumps out of the hyperspace, he is greeted by the looming Executor and an Advanced Tie X1 leading a squadron of fighters. In the whole galaxy, there is only one pilot who owns an Advanced Tie X1 in the Executor flagship, which is his father, Darth Vader.

Son. The voice that constantly calls out to him. On the usual occasion, he would raise his mental shield and blocks him out, but when he is too close to him, it's harder to raise his shield since his father is glowing like a black hole.

Hello father.

So You have accepted the truth.

Luke grimaces, I've accepted the truth that you were once Anakin Skywalker, my father.

That name no longer has any meaning for me.

Luke wants to rebuttal him but many Tie fighters are shooting at him. He narrowly escapes the first shot, but he does not notice the second fighter shoots at him. It hits his engine. He lets out a curse. Kriff!

Luke! Vader sounds concerned.

Luke does not spare any time to reply to him. He has lost his engine and control of the fighter. His ship is free-falling to the surface of the planet and it is falling a bit too fast for his liking. Artoo tries his best to bring the engine back, while Luke gathers the force and braces himself for a crash landing.

Luke finds out that dark tendrils have wrap around him protectively, he urges not to flinch.

Luke braces for the hard impact; the ship crashlands to the ground. Luke groans, he gets out of the ship and helps Artoo out. Artoo beeped annoyingly. The ship's thrust is apparently blown out. He will need some time to fix it.

Luke! Are you hurt? A protective and concerned voice voices out. The dark tendrils search his body, looking for any injuries. Luke blanches as the dark tendrils wrap around him too tightly.

Luke watches his father Tie Fighter fly down to the surface. His father ship lands beside his X-wing. Guess he does not have the time to fix his ship and leaves the planet.

Luke instincts tell him to run, yet he stands still, watching his father climb down from his fighter and walk ominously to Luke. Only when his father starts to walk towards him, he backs away from him.

Artoo beeps, the words he used is creative. He stands in front of Luke acting as a protector. Luke and Vader watch Artoo impressively.

"Son."

"Father." he greets back.

They stare at each other for quite some time before Artoo uses his electric prod to shock Vader. Vader makes a grunting sound and he glares at the droid.

They settle down on the beachside. Vader standing beside Luke who is watching the calming waves, "Did you know?"

"No." Vader seems to know what Luke is asking about.

They fell into a comfortable silence.

Luke's mind wanders a lot of things. Since Luke's ship is not working right now, he has no way to run from Vader. Unfortunately, he is stuck with him. What will happen to him now?

"What are you going to do?" he asks in a whisper.

Vader does not reply.

"You're going to take me to the Emperor." It's more like a statement rather than a question.

"No." Vader denies instantly, "You will not meet the Emperor."

Luke notices Vader clenches his hand so tightly, he might break his hand. Luke reaches out his hand, gently touches Vader's fist. Vader jerks back as if he has been electrocuted. Luke quickly put down his hand, sensing the discomfort of his father.

"Sorry," Luke mutters. "I - You might - You clenches your hand too tight, you might break your hand." he tries to explain.

Vader does not reply to him. Luke feels down at Vader lack of response so he keeps quiet, watching the waves hitting the sand again.

"They are prosthesis." Vader suddenly voices out, nearly scaring Luke out.

Prosthesis? Luke turns and stares at Vader's hand. Does he have prosthesis hand like him?

"How… how did you lose it?" Luke asks quietly and carefully. He fears this question might bring him back some bad memories.

The moment Luke has asked, he senses his father is in a deep rage like a volcano is about to explode. Luke mentally curses himself to be so foolish. He shouldn't ask Vader about this. He is bringing him back to his bad memories lane.

"If you are uncomfortable with it, you don't need to answer."

"I was a fool thinking I could win." Vader explains it shortly. It doesn't really answer Luke's question but he rather not pushes him, consider the temper Vader is in now.

The tension is broken by a comlink ringing. Vader answers his comlink, revealing the sound of the Admiral of Executor.

Luke listens to the Admiral reporting to Vader regarding the status of the rebels and they have sent a shuttle down to pick them up. He turns back to look at the sea for one last time. He might lose his freedom but he gets a chance to learn more about his father like he always dreamed of.

He takes his father's hand, together they leave this island and go for the next adventure.
