Chapter 5 - Intermediate Developments

Another short part I wrote recently to connect some things that happened in between.

Greva's time spent with the Ember warband and the Shattersteel Detachment had certainly been the highlight of her life up to this point and it lasted much longer then she'd initially feared. Sadly, it seemed that history would repeat itself to some extent.

Galhearn Emberrock, her Legionnaire, started to become less and less active. He was around less often. The warband was called together for missions less often. Before long it seemed that if she wanted to do anything productive, she'd have to do so on her own. Morale dropped and the higher ups certainly weren't happy either.

Maybe things could have been salvaged by assigning someone else as Legionnaire, but there weren't many in the warband as it was. The biggest hit was when Reisha Emberclaw decided she'd had enough of how the Legions operated and left for good.

Eventually the decision was made to disband the warband and assign the remaining few members to other warbands. Greva was offered a position in the Storm warband led by Kragh Stormblade. It was one of the two Blood Legion warbands attached to the Shattersteel Detachment, the other being the Howl warband led by Numinarus Howlmane.

Accepting a position in the Storm warband wasn't a too difficult decision to make for Greva as she already knew Kragh and two of the other bandmates reasonably well already, having worked together with them as part of the Shattersteel Detachment in the past. And while she did prefer Ash Legion, she could certainly see her talents being put to good use in Blood.

So, while she was by no means happy with what had happened, at least it didn't become as much of a disaster as it could have been and her life wouldn't be uprooted all that much. At least… not yet.
