Damian looked at the shelf of books displayed before him.
Last night was very pleasant, for both him and Maria, and he wanted this to become routine. However, he does not know enough tales for children and the tales that were told to him were not in the slightest child-friendly.
When lunch came, he made his way to the bookstore and immediately look at the children's section. He had a hard time picking which one to buy first. Yes, he could just buy the whole section, but that would be suspicious. He wanted to keep his meetings with Maria secret.
He hesitated as he grabbed a book from the shelf. Hopefully, this would suffice.
"... And they live happily ever after," Robin finished, closing the book and then looked at the blonde who was quietly listening to his story-telling of Cinderella.
"That was a great story!" Maria said, sitting up from Robin's lap where she once was lying on. "But why couldn't the prince recognize the princess? Why does he have to search the entire kingdom and make every girl fit a glass shoe?" Maria began to question.
Robin snorted, understanding the girl's logic. He too had asked Dick of these questions when they watched Cinderella together. "I do not know, too, mahbubi. I also question their logic," Robin agreed.
Maria smiled at the mention of her new nickname. She doesn't know what it means, but she likes it because it's from Robin. "Do you have another story?" Maria asked.
"I apologize," Robin replied, patting the girl's head, "another will have to wait until tomorrow."
