Y/N POV
I'm back at the day I first woke up in the mansion, Subaru somehow died for some reason. How could he have died? This question has been bothering me at the moment I knew Subaru died. I saw Subaru ahead and ran towards us. Rem looked kinda annoyed, probably because he's interrupting out work.
"I...Finally found you!" Subaru said as he panted
"Excuse us for a second Rem" I didn't give Rem time to answer as I dragged Subaru away and into his room, I closed the door and looked at him while I'm crossing my arms "So? What happened? Also, did you take a bath?"
"I-I don't know, I just slept, then I woke up and I found out I died! A-and, yeah!"
"Shh shh! Not so loud" I hushed Subaru "Well, we don't know how you died, fantastic. Seems like we're gonna stay here in this mansion for a while" I sighed. Looking at Subaru right now, he looks distressed.
"Calm down, calm down...One Emilia-tan, two Emilia-tans, three Emilia-tans...Am I in heaven?!" Holy fuck, is he on drugs? He's fucking noisy.
"You're too noisy, Barusu. It's night time, be quiet" She said as she entered the room
"Eeep!"
"..." I blankly stared at Subaru, then sighed "Sup, Ram" I greeted her.
"Hello, Goon" She greeted back, and returned to whatever she's doing "Barusu, come here" Yup, this bitch decided to give me a nickname when we first met, and it's goon of all things.
'Maaaaaan, I want to punch her at least once' I thought as I resisted the urge to punch her.
"Wait, my heart's sat on someone names 'Emilia-tan'!" Subaru said
"What are you talking about? I told you to sit here, so I can teach you to read and write"
"That's news to me!" He said "But what about Y/N? He said to me that he doesn't know how to write and read"
"Don't worry Barusu, you should focus on your studies instead, me, Rem, and Goon will do all of the chores"
"Besides, your hands is pretty wounded, so you need to take a break for a while" I leaned on a wall and took out a book, which was Icha Icha Paradise...I forgot to bookmark where I left off, fuck! As Ram continued to teach Subaru, Subaru asked a question out of nowhere.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" Subaru asked
"Why else? So that I can get off easy" Yeah this is getting too boring.
"Excuse me for a second"
"Where are you going?" Ram asked me
"I'm just going outside to get some fresh air" I left the two in the room, so that Subaru can at least concentrate. As I got outside, I saw Emilia talking to the spirits. I sat on a nearby bench and read my book.
"What are you doing here this late, Y/N-kun?"
"Oh, it's you. Nothing much, just reading this book. What about you?"
"Just taking some fresh air"
"Cut the bullshit, why are you here, seriously"
"Straight to the point I see. I'm just here to tell you to be careful around Subaru, he may be your friend, but he's covered in witch scent, who knows what he's going to do to you"
"Alright, I'll be careful around him"
Well then, goodniiiiight~" Roswaal said as he walked away.
"What a fuckin weirdo" I said as I read my book once again, oh yeah, I can't buy the next volume of Icha Icha Paradise since Jiraiya is dead...Fuck!

After the events last night, Lacina dragged me into the closet room where I got my suit. Lacina took out some of the suit similar to mine. Lacina insisted me to wear every single of the spare suits. Surprisingly, everything fits on me.
"You do know that I only need one or two, right? I don't need five"
"Just keep it. Who knows, maybe your suit might get torn"
"My suit hasn't got damaged before I fought Elsa, and I've been wearing this for 3 years, just so you know"
"Whatever. just keep it"
As I stored my spare suits in my room, I followed Lacina as we went to trim the bushes. We were very quiet as we were doing our work.
"So, tell me about yourself"
"Why would I do that?"
"Do you want the readers to read a short chapter? I also want to know about you, you seem interesting"
"Thanks for the compliment, men always find me interesting. Well I was born in a village north of here, the village was is quite nice. There were lots of friendly people in the village as well. Started working here as a maid when I was 14"
"Say, how old are you?"
"Didn't your mom ever told you to not ask a girl's age?"
"I was just curious, you seem old"
"Old?! I'm only 19 for your information!" She yelled at me, pointing the shears towards me.
'Heh, always works'
"Well, what about you? Tell me something about yourself"
"Well, I was born in a pretty decent family, not rich but not poor either. I was raised in Gensokyo, lots of friendly and shitty people there, mostly shitty"
"Gensokyo? I haven't heard of that place before"
"It's because it's on another continent" Lacina whistled
"Must be pretty far, huh?"
"Of course. Anyways, I've noticed...I only see you wearing maid outfits"
"What's wrong with i- Kyaaaaa!"
"What wrong?" I checked on Lacina, she was crawling away from a...A fucking bug "Seriously? Why would you scream? It's just a bug"
"I don't like bugs! They're disgusting" I sighed and walked towards the small bug and crushed it with my foot.
"There, problem solved"
"My hero..."
"Whatever, stop slacking and get back to work"
"you're my kouhai, I should be the one ordering you around!"
"Yeah yeah, don't make me tell Ram that you're slacking off" I said as I went back to trimming the bushes, Lacina just looked at me and pouted.

No POV
"Tell me, Y/N" He turned to look at Y/N, who was crossing his arms and looking bored "Why did you have to follow us? Me and Rem-rin can handle this"
"I'm just going to keep an eye on you both just encase something happens" As Subaru was going to say something, the kids from the village swarmed up to Subaru and played with him if you consider choking to be one. Some kids played with Y/N, playing with his hair or just plainly touching him, some in...weird places too.
"Oi, hands-off! I don't want your hands to touch my suit!"
"Alright alright, listen up" The kids stopped and looked at Subaru with innocence "Next time I come here, I'll be on a date. Try to take a hint okay? I'll allow this little critter to play with Emilia-tan, though" he said as he tried to pet the puppy, but instead bit him.
"Ow! Again?!" Subaru cried
"That's pretty deep, bow chika bow wow" he said as he looked at where the puppy bit him.
"Seriously?" Subaru looked at me with a 'Are you serious?' face
"So this is where you were, Subaru-kun. Are you alright?" she asked as she approached Subaru with the groceries.
"I'm fine I'm fine...All done shopping, Rem-rin?"
"Yes, it went smoothly" Y/N, being the gentleman he is, offered help.
"Let me carry some of them"
"Oh there's no need, me and Subaru-kun can handle this. You can go ahead and head back to the mansion"
"Well, if you say so" Y/N went ahead but went back with Rem and Subaru "Actually, no. I'll walk with you guys" Y/N, Rem, and Subaru stayed for a while and played with the kids. The afternoon came and it time for them to leave.
"Don't go!"
"Aww, are you're leaving already?"
"Let's play again the next time you come here!" The children said
"You're quite popular with them"
"The kids like to play with Subaru for some reason" Y/N said
"Like animals, children observe a hierarchy. They can tell if it's alright to belittle someone:
"Those brats...They have no respect!" Subaru yelled
"I like those kids, hehe" Y/N giggled
"Did you show them something worth respecting?" Rem asked
"That's a second argument. Still, it doesn't seem right to belittle me from the start. Ram seems like she'd handle that kind of thing well"
"My sister is wonderful, isn't she?"
"Well honestly, I'd think her personality would cause a fight more often than not" Y/N said
"My sister's self-assured nature what makes her so charming. I cannot be that way at all. By the way, how are your studies progressing, Subaru-kun?"
"Let's just say I'm plugging along. Ram is actually a pretty good teacher, too. Though I wish she wouldn't sleep on my bed in mid-lesson. It kinda kills my motivation" Y/N and Rem looked at Subaru with a flat look. Subaru noticed this and asked.
"Why are you guys looking at me like that"
"You aren't doing anything weird to her while sleeping, right?" Y/N asked and Rem nodded
"I didn't do anything to her, I promise!"
"...I trust your words"
"My sister only acts that way to stimulate your motivation" Rem said.
"Why do you have such absolute faith in your sister? That isn't normal. You're totally fanatical like a demon." Rem and Y/N stopped after hearing this.
"Fanatical like a demon?"
"What's that?"
"It's the demon version of divine possession. Sounds kinda cool, right?" Subaru answered
"Ohhh, I dunno, sounds kinda lame"
"Shut it, everything to you is lame anyway"
"Hey, not everything you know! I find Lacina interesting!"
"Do you like Lacina-senpai, Y/N-kun?" Rem asked
"Absolutely not! Plus I already have a girlfriend!"
"Hoh? Who's she?"
"It's Siren, don't you remember? She's beautiful than everyone in the mansion combined!" Y/N boasted and smirked. Subaru looked like he was about to cry.
'Damn it! How come he has a girlfriend already?!'
"Anyways, I've got a question for you Subaru" Subaru looked at Y/N "Do you like demons?" Rem perked up as she heard the question.
"Where'd that question come from?"
"Just answer me"
"Well, gods generally don't do anything, but demons will laugh along when you talk about future plans. Especially for next year and stuff. They'll laugh their heads off." He said as he noticed that Rem looked at him as the flower petals flew along with the breeze of the wind while Rem gave her purest smile to Subaru.
"That smile is a million volts!" Subaru exclaimed while doing a pose.
"I'm telling Emilia-sama" Rem teased.
"I wasn't trying to hit on you!" Subaru whined.
"Rem, Don't listen to Subaru, go ahead and tell Emilia"
"Of course. Y/N-kun" Rem smiled and giggled
"Oh come on!"
"Don't be such a baby" Y/N teased and lightly punched Subaru. Y/N stopped in his tracks and stared at the two in front of him 'Somehow, this makes me miss home'
'Hey, once we get back home, wanna have a long break?'
'Mhm, that sounds good, but before that, I gotta pay Zerra a visit'
Rem and Subaru noticed that Y/N was just standing behind them. Concerned, Subaru asked.
"Y/N, you alright?"
"Hm? Hm, yeah, yeah" He said as he caught up to them.
