Chapter 5: That Glob Wants the Emeralds!
"Mauve? That's a horrible name for that creature."
"Well, Eggman, what would you have named it?"
"Erm…I haven't thought about that."
"Sonic! Eggman! We don't have the time to argue about names. The creature…I mean Mauve (your right, that doesn't really fit) has already grabbed two emeralds."
Sonic and Eggman were shocked. How has this creature already gathered two emeralds? It hasn't left that long ago.
Mauve was just coasting around, two Chaos Emeralds in hand, when they spot a third one in a dumpster.
"Hmph. This is just so easy. These emeralds just seem to be waiting for me to pick them up!"
They spots another in a trashcan a bit down the street. Unfortunately, the inhabitant of the house that owned said trashcan was also looking for said emerald.
Inside the house…
"Where's that damn fourth Chaos Emerald?" asked Shadow to no one in particular. He steps outside only to see that weird blob named Mauve grabbing the fourth Chaos Emerald.
"Hey you! Drop those Chaos Emeralds!" Mauve yelps at the sound of Shadow's edgy voice and proceeds to…slide(?) away from Shadow at the speed of a car on a highway.
"He's not making it easy, but no matter. This will be quick." Shadow said, even though there was no one around (maybe he's lonely?). He fired up his rocket shoes and sped off towards Mauve.
Mauve was so shocked at how fast that black hedgehog caught up to him that it was not looking where he was going. He tripped and fell on top of the Chaos Emeralds, which shifted his form.
The Chaos Emeralds have given it some structural support, so Mauve was no longer just a blob, it was a blob with bones. It kind of looked like Chaos 0, but it was still mauve.
Shadow stopped in his tracks and looked at the newly transformed Mauve. "That creature is just like Chaos. Its form changes each time it gets a Chaos Emeralds."
"I guess," replied Mauve.
Shadow started to attack Mauve, "This is for you stealing my damn Chaos Emerald, CHAOS SPEAR!"
Shadow shot a Chaos Spear at Mauve, but it just bounced off its body and hit Shadow instead.
Mauve casually walked over to Shadow and stomped. Confusingly, nothing happened. "I thought that would do something?"
Suddenly, a fissure opened up below Shadow. He fell in with a startled, "DAMN!"
Mauve looked at its feet in shock. "So, this is what feet are like?" It then flew away, because of course it could fly.
"I have visual on Mauve."
"Could we just call it 'creature,' that name is getting on my nerves fox!"
"Sorry Eggman, it has a name, so we must call it that. It looks like it has…four emeralds already."
"Alright temporary alliance, we need to step up our game and snag the other emeralds before it does!" Sonic said to Tails and Eggman. Each agreed that they were going to go after one emerald, all of which have been located by Tails. The "reign of terror" of Mauve would surely be stopped soon, right?
