Welcome back to DEATH BATTLE! Spyro Edition. Well, it's time. The combatants are set. It's time to end this debate once and for all. So let's not waste another minute yammering in the author's bookends. Let's see who actually wins the day between the Purple Dragon of Legend and the psychotic leader of The Seven. Take it away Wiz and Boomstick!
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!
(With Boomstick's pronouncement, the scene is set. A field outside of Warfang, pretty much immediately after Dawn of the Dragon's ending to be exact. As it starts we see Spyro and Cynder about to land from the ending cutscene. But before they can land, a red, white and blue blur comes out of nowhere and snatches Cynder out of the air)
Spyro: (Seeing something just happened) What the heck just happened?
(At this point we see Cynder is now on the ground and being strangled by Homelander, who is just standing there Cynder in one hand, smartphone in the other)
Homelander: (To his fans on the other side of the phone) This is why the world needs The Seven in the military. This country was going to just let this killer go free! But not us. This is true justice right here!
(Seeing his beloved being strangled, Spyro flies into the scene, gets a running start and charges straight into Homelander, causing him to drop the phone)
Spyro: What is your problem, pal?!
Homelander: Your little friend is a war criminal. If your country refuses to do anything, then I will.
Spyro: I may know nothing about politics, but even I know that's not how this works. You can't just dispense vigilante justice against people like that!
Homelander: (Takes a deep breath) I can do whatever I want.
FIGHT!
(Without a second thought, Homelander charges forward and starts wailing on Spyro, before eventually hitting him with an uppercut that sends him up into the air as Homelander flies up after him to punch him across the clearing after following him up. When Spyro lands, we see he's a little dazed, but there's nary a scratch on him)
Spyro: Okay, so we're going to play it that way? Alright then.
(As Homelander starts flying back into the scene, Spyro unleashes a blast of fire to keep Homelander back before leaping into the air and trying to fly away. But just as Spyro is on his way into the air, Homelander flies up and actually passes him.)
Spyro: (Seeing the opponent that was behind him is now ahead of him) Wait, what?! How did you...?!
(Spyro doesn't even get to finish the question as Homelander grabs him by the face and throws him back into the ground, leaving a giant crater in his wake.)
Homelander: (Seeing Spyro is still unscathed by his beating, save a bruise or two) I'll admit, you're mildly impressive.
Spyro: (Sarcastically) Glad you're impressed.
Homelander: (As his eyes start glowing) But I'm getting tired of this. It's time for you to die.
(With that, Homelander fires off his famous laser vision, and Spyro attempts to block with his wing, but the beam hits his shoulder before his wing can get in front of it, and the beam does nothing.)
Homelander: Wait, what?
Spyro: (Seeing he's intact) Hey, I'm just as surprised as you are!
(Now annoyed, Homelander fires again, and the beam still doesn't even graze Spyro's scales. Each time he does this, Homelander gets progressively angrier as Spyro now steps up to defend himself, and is managing to hold off Homelander's laser vision and only just getting burned when Homelander decides to pull off a continuous stream of laser vision)
Homelander: WHY THE HELL WON'T YOU JUST DIE ALREADY!?
(After a few minutes of this, Homelander just straight up gets close up to Spyro and slaps him across the field and flies after him, essentially pulling off Superman's super move from Injustice 2 before hitting Spyro with his laser vision again, causing Spyro to land right where the fight started.)
Homelander: You know, you've really started to piss me off. When I say it's time for you to die, you are going to die.
(At this point, Homelander's had enough of Spyro and fires up his laser vision at it's strongest, but then sees Spyro is more focused on protecting Cynder)
Homelander: You know what? Let me take care of one thing first.
(Seeing this, Homelander releases his laser vision at Cynder, completely incinerating her)
Homelander: There. Maybe now you'll be willing to die.
(Seeing Cynder get immolated flips a switch in Spyro's mind, the sorrow in his mind turning to anger directed at Homelander, noted by his scales turning to a scary dark hue)
Spyro: (Now clearly enraged) I think you're mistaken.
(As Spyro's dark transition completes, Spyro unleashes a blast of Dragon Time, slowing Homelander's movements as Spyro stands there in his dark form, ready to kill Homelander a thousand times over)
Spyro: YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S GOING TO DIE!
(Now clearly fed up with Homelander, Spyro fires off a beam of Aether. Homelander, being the cocky fool he is, and despite the Dragon Time ability still being in effect throws up an arm to block it, only for that arm to be atomized, leaving him with an unfamiliar feeling, physical pain.)
Homelander: (Amidst the first pain he's ever felt) What the hell!?
Spyro: How does it feel to be the weak one?!
(Now clearly fed up, Homelander unleashes his laser vision one last time, and Spyro fires a beam of Aether. The two forces clash, and hold each other at a stand still for some time. But someone has to give eventually. Homelander puts all his effort into it, but Spyro is barely breaking a sweat. Soon it becomes evident that Spyro's Aether is stronger than Homelander's laser vision, as Spyro's violet blast slowly overpowers Homelander's attack, and after an agonizing few minutes for Homelander, Spyro's Aether blast consumes the Supe, ultimately atomizing him as he lets out a first and final cry of pain.)
Spyro: That should teach you.
KO!
And that's it! Ring the bell! The match is over, and Spyro has emerged victorious! And all it took was Cynder being incinerated to bring about the win. Sorry to all of Cynder's fans about that. But now there's only one question left to answer. How the heck did Spyro pull that off? Homelander seems like he should have put up much more of a fight, right? Well, tune in next time for all the answers! Same time... same channel!
