Pokémon: Wings of Beginnings

Chapter 5: Thank Yous

WINGS HQ

Some mumbling came from a room.

The large and wide snowmon looked down with a nod.

He then went out and looked at what the other physician of WINGS recommended in giving the old and sick professor so that he could recover from his sickness. He looked at the list again.

One said that he is to collect some Freeze Ice. Ice quite cold to the touch and rather dangerous for direct, bare contact if not handled properly. But it'd serve as a hefty ice-pack to medicate fevers.

They knew that he was up for the task. Knowing how he was the member with the most competence with handling anything related to ice regardless of temperature. Must had been from the power he received from his Dynacrystal that amplified his ability to control ice.

At this time of the year... Freeze Ice should be able to be harvested... He looked at the list of venues that still remain frigid for the environment.

Snowpoint City...That would be nice considering one of the exits of the mountain where their HQ stood was directly to that city. After that, it would be not much of a problem for him to trek the road to that city since he was an Ice-type and he lived in very cold places for his species can withstand.

He nods quietly. That is where he'll head off to get Freeze Ice. The other elements to treat Pentaster can be gathered first before Freeze Ice.

He went down the hallway, passing by Weiss as he did so. He looked over him, wondering what he was doing and why he wore his overcoat up.

"I can't believe Ignatius would do this..." Weiss mumbles as he passed by. "Taking one day off missions, while it does really help to benefit the Professor... we might have less hands to handle missions..."

He heard a mumble, turning around to see Arubo looking at him.

"Arubo? What is it?" He asks.

Arubo mumbled again. Weiss scratched his head. He wanted to calm him down and not to think about little things too much.

"...Alright." The Meowstic gives in. "We always need to keep a clear head at all times... even if it's in the presence of that bear..."

Oh, what coincidence can be a jerk at times. At that exact moment, a large towering figure approached Weiss from behind. The Meowstic cursed his tongue silently as he heard that all too familiar lackadaisical laugh.

"Hahaha, hello Weiss-iss~" Guy called out, the Meowstic turned immediately, not knowing that Arubo already left before he even came from behind. "I bearly smother you there~!"

Weiss flinched from the pun.

"Arubo-ing (Are you bowing) there?" He asked when Weiss slouched from his timely arrival.

"...G...Guy, what do you have for today?" Weiss could just feel his own motivation fall into a sudden pit with said Pokémon's presence.

He got a slap which made him lurch forward. "Oh, Weiss-iss, I want your ad-Weiss~!"

"...Ad...vice? On... what?"

"About Sunu~"

"W...what is it?"

"Do you have someone you know who can help Sunu?"

"Help him? As in what?"

As on cue, he heard someone speak to Arubo in a distance about Freeze Ice. Very long and not a single minor detail missed.

"...And that summarizes what Freeze Ice's properties are." Sunai finishes to Arubo.

Arubo just mumbled before leaving the HQ. So that's what Guy meant...To help him stop doing that a lot...

"Can you, Weiss-iss?"

"...I suppose... maybe I could inform someone..." He answers, rather with some uncertainty.

He gets another slap.

"Weiss-iss, come on~!" Guy complained.

"Fine, fine... I'll just see what I can do..."

Guy jumped and caused the entire hall to shake violently. Weiss jumped and the shock nearly gave him a heart attack.

"Yay~ Thank you, Weiss-iss!"

"Sure... It's nothing..." He replies back.

WINGS HQ

Guy and Sunai walked together on the hallway. They were informed by Weiss earlier that he had found someone who could help them with something. Though it wasn't clear to Sunai why he was needed to come with this polar bear.

"So, what is it which you would like to tell me about?" Sunai wonders.

They walk a bit until Guy stops. "Oh, something I want to know if they can help you, Sunu~" Guy answered. "I am so excited for them to make you cooler~"

"I see..." Sunai nods.

They resumed walking until they met a uniformed Pokémon. A member of the Recon Squad.

She looked over and smiled. "Why, hello there! It's not every day a Recon member meets those who perform in their missions." She said.

"Hello~" Guy greeted cheerfully.

Sunai looks over at her. "...Ah, face to face with a star pupil of the Recon Squad. Your stellar reputation precedes you."

The member just rose her arms and shook her head.

"Oh no, I just can't leave behind people in need, that's all." She replies.

"Wow~" Guy exclaimed, touched by her kindness.

"You're a kind soul." Sunai adds.

The member twirled the ends of her overcoat. "So, how might I be of service?" She inquires.

"Hm...I want Sunu to stop saying unpleasant things all the time~" Guy answered, causing Sunai to jump back in shock.

"What!?" He was taken aback.

"Hmm, I see, I see..." The Recon member nods attentively before snapping her fingers. "Then how about signing up for the 'Recon Self-Improvement Seminar'?" She says in a cheery voice. "It will fix any defective personality in a snap! He'll be your loyal servant in no time!"

"Defective personality!? Servant!?" Sunai exclaims.

She extends a hand over to them. "Sign up now and your first seminar will cost 250, 000 Poké!"

The absurd amount was enough to make Sunai look so stunned with his "What!?"

Guy tilted his head sideways and played with his ice "beard" for a few times. "I don't think Sunu is worrh THAT much to me..."

The member, hearing his declining of the offer, turns away. "...Huh, I wouldn't peg YOU for such a tightwad." Her tone changed so much from that sentence before she looks back at them with a cheery attitude. "...Well, don't hesitate to call me for any problems you might have!" And with that, she went off.

"Hm...She's pretty fun~" Guy played with his ice "beard" again while he commented that.

Sunai was still startled and taken aback with the jabs directed at him. He looks down in disbelief. "Am I... really that unpleasant?" He asks.

Guy laughed and slapped his back. "I was just joking~" He assured before murmuring, "Sort of."

WINGS HQ: Cafeteria

Arubo looked at the ingredients he was told to bring back to help with the professor's fever.

His eyes scan over some vegetables, which made his body jolt before he looks down at himself.

He tugged his belly and released it, causing his large belly to jiggle a bit. Not yet reduced...He looked at his arms, why was his belly not getting the same treatment like the rest of his body? He wondered about this and how he would get a nice girlfriend to settle with. He shook his head, now was not the time to think about that. He needed to get the ingredients to help cure the professor's fever.

"...Hey, Arubo?"

He looked from behind, spotting Claire going to him and checking the list he was carrying.

"Hm? This list?" She ponders. She looked back at him. "By any chance..."

He mumbled a bit more, she nodded.

"Huh... I see..." She says. "...Hmm... I heard that Iggy is planning to get some Freeze Ice, but I'd say that he definitely needs you to come over to get that."

He nodded and mumbled that he would meet up with him before heading his way out. She looked at his lunch, noticing that he didn't eat much today.

"...Huh, he didn't eat plenty today..." She sighed, must be because of his weight again.

April 25th, 2020

1:00 p.m.

Sinnoh Route 216

Iggy trudged through the snow, using his overcoat to block the cold winds blowing against him and warming with his flames he generated on his own. He got to thank the tailor that the overcoat didn't burn this time like... He remembered the times the professor tried to make an overcoat that won't burn off from his flames.

It was, needless to say, countless of times which they had to keep track of how many times did such a thing happen before the overcoats were modified to this day.

He walked some more before spotting someone approaching him. He looked, knowing that this person was larger, stronger, and more resistant to the cold than he was. He looked to see Arubo catching up to him.

"Hey, Arubo." He greets.

Another mumble and he waved his hand to greet Iggy back.

"Yeah, great to see you here." He nods back. "Guess you heard about what I want to do."

Another mumble.

"Yeah, come on, let's go."

The two members headed off through the common hailstorm occurring in the northern areas of Sinnoh.

Iggy covered himself for a while before looking at Arubo just passively walking against the strong hailstorm with no problem at all as if he was used to this. He wondered about this Abomasnow's resistance against the cold, being more than what a average Abomasnow could manage.

He looked back ahead. These Dynacrystals always granted each individual person mainly enhanced capabilities compared to regular Pokémon of their species, but of course... having one implanted on you means that you'd have to bear the burden of forgetting those who passed on.

The exchange for this power...Was it really worth forgetting those you love like they were nothing like how heartless soldiers do? Sunai thought so, telling that he was fine with forgetting it for he believed that it is better to forget than be brought down for it.

Arubo slows down on his walk, which Iggy picks up on... and quickly picks up why.

He reached out a hand and from there, a broadsword appeared out of nowhere from Arubo's hand. He mumbled to Iggy, telling him to prepare.

Iggy nods and his hands are suddenly covered with gloves just as how Arubo just called forth his broadsword.

After a few seconds, something burst out of the thick snow which Arubo swings at, his broadsword cleaving through the body of a mole-like creature coated in snow white pelt and having drill structuring for nails and nose.

"Snowy Drills coming over at us, huh..." he prepared his fists, looking around while the first of the Snowy Drills disappeared off into mist.

They looked around as more of those Dulled appear around them.

"Well, we'd have to get through them." He turns briefly to look at Arubo.

A mumble again.

He sees one come over with a leap of its' nails about to swing down before he brings his arm over to strike it's body...

He spotted Arubo coming at him and blocked the attack with his broadsword.

"Okay!" He moves in as that Snowy Drill staggers back in the air from the block.

"Go." Arubo commanded as he swung his sword back and muttered...

Iggy lunges forward and struck the staggered Snowy Drill with a punch coated with fire. As the burnt beast flew away from the punch, Iggy went to hit another incoming one with a kick.

The broadsword was coated by ice. Arubo looked around his surroundings as a hand pointed down and sent a chilly aura around, causing the Dulled nearby to lose their resistance against Ice. He looked onward and muttered,

"Frost Arc."

With that, he slammed his ice-enchanted broadaword downwards. Streams of ice clusters burst right around from the impact, making their way to the several numbers around them.

Iggy looked at what Arubo made and he joined in in taking down their numbers while Arubo swung around and fired ranged shots and blows.

As the last of the Snowy Drills dissipated through a stream of fire shot from Iggy's hands... he threw it at the spot as a streaks of flames erupted from the spot. Iggy knew that these weren't his flames, but a Dulled's.

He looks as a form of living fire was admist the place, melting the snow with it's radiating heat. Heat... Which means this would be bad for someone like Arubo.

He braced himself against the Fierybeast which appeared, briefly looking at his companion.

Arubo knew he was weak to fire great, covering himself with frigid winds to block the attack, not letting it hit his body, knowing one attack would spell him his doom. He didn't want to be a load to Iggy, he wanted to help and not be dead weight for him. He prepared his broadsword again as the Dulled revealed itself to them.

Iggy readies a stance as the flame-living monster plants a foot forward into rapidly melting snow, which in turn became evaporating water.

Its heat was strong, but he knew Arubo was handling it well. He wasn't backing down as most of the snowstorms blocked the Dulled's attacks to Iggy.

He readied himself and as the beast lunges in a searing coat produced around it...

His mind and arms got to work as he focused on the fire it was producing.

He looked at Arubo, who swung his sword to direct the winds a the beast. The winds strong enough to block the beast's charge from coming closer to them both. Arubo mumbled, signalling him to ready his attack as he bought him some time.

He nods and hones on his focus. Better end this soon...

He heard Arubo mumble, signalling that he wouldn't be able to keep this long. He needed a signal to know that he was ready. He needed to be now.

His eyes concentrate onto the moving Fierybeast, to defeat it... This is his ability.

"...Now!"

Arubo nodded and let the barrier down as Iggy charges towards the Fierybeast just as it unleashes a blast of fire towards them with his arms stretched. The flames appear to be stopped by his hands as he grunts a bit, plenty of force this time... But quick to use.

The Fierybeast lands back on its' feet, staring at how it's fire was being stopped in its tracks... No, it wasn't just being stopped.

"Iggy!" Arubo screamed, charging in and clashed his sword beside Iggy to block an attack meant for him.

"I've... got this back!" Iggy shouts as he twisted the Fierybeast's fire in front of him. He thrusts his palms forward, expelling the flames forward.

Arubo grunted and jumped up, he brought his sword back as frigid winds blew around the blade. He let out a battle cry, screaming...

"Niflheim's Gate!"

He did a grand swing, unleashing a concentrated shot of a speeding snowstorm. The resulting attack caused the beast's limbs to freeze up against this violent snowstorm, building up rapidly to encase it's body before the returning fire engulfed it's trapped form. However, the flames repulsed instead harmed it.

Arubo mumbled, swinging his broadsword to the side and made it lie parallel to the ground as Iggy jumped on the flat side of the blade. With a battle cry, Arubo swung forward, sending Iggy flying up to the Fierybeast.

He focuses his landing in the air as he dives down to the trapped Fierybeast while forming flames in front of him.

"Falling Flare!"

He lands down onto the Fierybeast, breaking it's body with his fist and causing a pillar of fire to burst from his landing. Once it dissipates, Iggy dusts his hands, the Fierybeast nowhere to be seen.

Another mumble was heard as Arubo swung his sword to the side, it disappeared like shattered glass. He moved forward as Iggy looked.

"So, took a bit of time." Iggy comments. "And... how much further?"

Another mumble as Arubo continued, Iggy scratched his head.

"Ookay." He follows behind Arubo.

He sighed... He has known this Abomasnow from his childhood in the orphanage yet...He couldn't understand what he said from all his mumblings.

And he barely just says more audible words instead of mumbles.

He wondered about this.

He wouldn't know that precise of details about Arubo's childhood prior to their meeting... But he was always the silent kid, however, he still remembered one thing during a birthday celebration to Aria. He remembered all the details about it.

June 21st, 2007

2:00 p.m.

Orphanage

Iggy looked around the hall of the orphanage to celebrate Aria's birthday. He looked around the decorations and stalls around with the theme being about fairy tales and princesses. He looked around the place, wondering why the professor made him wear a prince costume with the princess being Aria. He looked at the pirate-costumed Lenna as she pointed her wooden sword at Gray.

"Heeey!" Gray shouts loudly in exclamation.

"Still, what is this...?" Iggy himself wonders about the outfit.

He heard a mumble. Looking from behind, he spotted Arubo wearing a... a...

"Arubo?" He asks.

Arubo looked at him and nodded. He seemed to tell him about the outfit he wore.

"Oh... Oh..." he nods slowly.

Arubo mumbled about something.

"Ah, okay...?"

Arubo looked at something else and mumbled out a surprise.

"Huh?"

He turned to see...The professor dressing up as a...Sea Fairy Princess!?

"P-Professor?" He looks in complete surprise. Just what is going on here? Wait, Gray is down there... but where is his brother?

"I can't believe she back down at the last second!" Pentaster complained. "Can't she remind me the day after? Why now when this is once in a lifetime day for Symphonia's life!?"

"Huh? Professor?" Iggy wonders. What is he speaking of?

Pentaster looked and jolted upon seeing them spotting him. He tried to cover his entire body with his gem being an accessory and the upper point being the makeshift head. He tried to walk away but...

There came a small Cubchoo rolling about in a... boulder costume...

"Ms. Sea Fairy Sea Princess~!" He called out, hitting Pentaster at full force. He let out a painful yelp and knocked him toward the two. Iggy and Arubo looked at the swirling gem of Pentaster's body.

"Professor!" Iggy jumps.

Arubo mumbled.

"Ah, ah!" Pentaster yelped before standing up and composing himself. "Professor? No, I am Penta-rella!"

"Penta...rella?"

Arubo mumbled some more, causing him to slouch. "...You got me, Nifil..." He mumbled with disappointment. Wait, he understood him?

"It really is... Professor..." Iggy then said, taking a closer look and confirming...?

"Oh, hi Professor Penu~" Guy greeted.

They heard Aria wondering about something. Ah...

"Oh no, I need to greet them from the top." Pentaster exclaimed, looking at where he should be at right now.

Arubo mumbled, causing Pentaster to jolt.

"Wait, you three want to help?" He exclaimed.

"Hm...Oh, okay~ I want to help for Ary~" Guy cheered. They understood him?

"Oh... Sure! I... guess? Maybe?" He blinks.

At the top, they held the rope as Pentaster went down the platform with a rope around his "waist" as the three held the rope. They pulled and hoisted Pentaster down slowly.

"Careful~" Guy cheered.

"Oof..." Iggy held it by the front as the three children helped their old Professor.

Arubo mumbled with shock.

"The rope~" Guy yelped.

Iggy looked and saw that the rope was about to snap into two because of his flames.

"Uh-oh!" He shouts.

Arubo mumbled as he tried to fix it with his powers but Iggy failed to notice it and accidentally melted the ice. He heard Pentaster exclaim in shock and pain and hit the walls around the hall.

Iggy flinched at every time the crashing resound.

The rope broke off and they crashed onto Arubo while they heard Pentaster scream followed by a loud crash.

He sighed about that...He never really understood what he meant when he spoke but some understood him perfectly. Those mumbles had some meaning and when Sunai was asked to translate it, it took a week to have him finish what he meant.

He heard some mumbling as Arubo came to a stop again, but not calling out his weapon. He knelt down, taking out a knife and looked at the Freeze Ice. A fine cluster growing here as Arubo chips off this special kind of ice to mainly provide as remedy. He places it inside the bottle and looked at it carefully before putting it inside one of his pouches. He stood up and mumbled.

"That's Freeze Ice down... and that leaves..."

A mumble before looking at the list they have now. Some Rawst Berry extracts. A mumble as Arubo looked at a berry tree.

They headed over there first and looked up before harvesting these berries from the tree.

Iggy watched as Arubo placed the berries in the mortar and pestle he brought and began crushing the berries. Iggy looked down...Right, the Commander and Professor were the ones who brought him to the orphanage. They were like his parents...Not just to him but to everyone.

A soft mumble and Arubo is done with the berry paste. He then placed it inside the bottle from earlier and mixed the two components in. He looked to see that the tonic was complete.

One mumble and a nod off to the direction of HQ. Arubo made his way before Iggy. Right, maybe he was among those people. Afraid to forget someone he cares for.

"Let's head back then." Iggy says as he began to walk.

They made their way back, as silent as Arubo was always was.

April 25th, 2020

4:54 p.m.

Somewhere in the Unova Region

A dragon was looking over the river, checking out the reflections directed at him. The dragon was coated in white fur with some avian features. He had a pair of sharp blue eyes and deeper blue irises with a main which started from the snout and flow out onto the back of the head into two. The dragon's long neck had two choker-like membranes with one at the base of the neck and a smaller one a few centimeters above it. The coat he wore had some puffs over the chest area to make it appear like a dress and the arms appear to be like the wings of avian creatures with four claws at the end of the arm. The legs were bent with the feet having a mixture of a mammal's and an avian's feet. The crotch had a protruding tuft of fur sticking out of it. His tail was the most striking feature, it appeared like a turbine with some trailing fur flowing out of the center.

This dragon fixed some of his fur, he looked around. How long had passed since he and his hero had returned back home? He wondered how thing had changed from this region. He didn't know for they just had arrived just this day.

"How long had we been gone from this region, Hilbert?" He asked telepathically. "Did you say hi to your mom after you've been gone?"

"I lost a bit track of time here..." The human beside this dragon replies. He was dressed in a long-sleeved light blue and blue hoodie with a black shirt underneath. He had long black pants with a few lines horizontally and red and black shoes. Most of his brown hair is kept within a red and white cap with a black Poké Ball pattern at the front. "But, all's well with finally coming across N after he left so abruptly without even saying good-bye."

He fixes his cap back on. "...I didn't think that Team Plasma, or the new one, would strike Unova again. And if I heard correctly, it's been disbanded and Ghetsis has been taken into custody by the International Police, right?"

"Indeed and that Zekrom found a new Hero of Ideals." The dragon mused. "Or should I say heroine? She's this region's Champion before Alder, you, and Iris, correct?"

"This... Rosa, right?"

The dragon nodded.

"My dark counterpart." He muttered. "Like the Yang represents the male, and the Yin the female."

"In any case..." Hilbert begins before the dragon fires a Flamethrower at a direction.

"...Let's get going, Reshiram."

"Right." Reshiram obediently replied, letting him ride on his back as he flapped his wings, sending some grass flying and waves on the river with his powerful beatings. The turbine tail let out a fiery burst of flames before Reshiram flew off into a distance. "So... WINGS... I've heard that they protect the world from the secrets the Champion made to reduce the amount of panic of the population and abuse the power of the Dulled."

"Yeah, looks like it."

"So... I've heard of a wandering Summoner but I don't seem to detect her. The daughter of the Grand Summoner of the Galar Defense Force."

"The Galar Defense Force, isn't that..."

"The military force WINGS is affiliated with. I've heard that the surviving Elite is now the Commander of WINGS."

"I see..."

"So...Next stop?"

"Yeah, probably should drop by Nuvema Town."

"Understood, I've missed your mother's cooking."

Hilbert laughed at this.

"She is a great cook, and it's really been too long, hasn't it?" He looked at his belt. "The others definitely misses homemade food."

Reshiram nodded as they flew forward and disappeared into the horizon. From where Reshiram fired, an overly burnt body of a Dulled soon broke down into black mist.

From there, a shadowed figure looked onward. She looked down and sighed before reaching out an arm and let some soul fly out of the spot and sent it flying up. Reshiram jolted a bit and looked behind him. Hilbert picked up the sudden tension he felt.

"Reshiram? What is it?" Hilbert questions.

"It's nothing." Reshiram assures. "I thought that I helped someone send a soul back into the afterlife, but that's Giratina's job to do it. But...Like Giratina, where's Kyurem now?"

Neither knew.

"I do hope that he's alright."

Chapter 5 Concluded

A light note: June 21st is National Music Day (and also coincidentally my birthday too...). I really just chose that out of research for thinking of symbolic days and well, I'm surprised!

It may not be much, but so far, any likes on about the main group?
