Amity let out a happy sigh as she exited her bathroom, running a towel through her wet hair to dry it after the shower she had just taken. She felt refreshed and clean after completing her morning run, giving her nothing to do for the rest of the day but to rest, relax, and recuperate after yet another long week of school. This week had been especially rough since she had seven assignments due on Friday and multiple tests throughout the week. But thankfully she had kicked this week's ass and deserved nothing more than a break.

The pot of coffee she had put on before her shower was finished, and she poured herself a cup, relishing in its dark and bitter taste. She hummed to herself as she took another sip before something in her dishrack caught her eye. A single blue cup occupied the rack, sitting upside down in order to dry faster. She stared at it for a few seconds, remembering the new friend she had made a few days ago.

"Luz?" she called out into the empty apartment, expecting and secretly hoping that the reaper girl would appear out of thin air. She waited a full minute, and when she didn't hear a response or see the girl, she sighed and refilled her cup before heading towards her couch.

Ever since their official meeting, the girl had been on Amity's mind almost nonstop. Not just Luz (although it was mainly Luz) but everything she had told Amity about. It was still hard to get her head wrapped around it all. God and Satan were real, as were Heaven and Hell. Demons, Angels, Grim Reapers, everything; it was all real. There was life after death; you wouldn't just rot away in a wooden box six feet underground, long forgotten by the ones you once used to love. It brought her some comfort knowing this, yet it was killing her that she couldn't tell anyone about this wondrous discovery. Because after all, who would believe her? Sure a few people would believe her, some would question how she knew it while others would blindly believe and follow her. But the overwhelming majority would call her a nutjob, or a liar that was only seeking attention and (possibly) money from poor fools who will believe whatever when it comes to God.

Still, she missed having the reaper around. There was something about her that was warm and comforting, like a childhood blanket or a friend you haven't seen in a long time. She missed her voice, her laughter, that smile—why on earth was Amity simping for a dead girl? And why was said dead girl so hot?

Just as her thoughts started to drift into dangerous, Luz-related territories, her cheeks flushing pink, a knock at her door startled her, shocking her out of her thoughts. With wide eyes, she placed her cup down and rose from the couch before practically speed running towards the door, heart beating in her ears as the thought of it being Luz visiting her after so long (yes it'd only been two days, but it felt like a lot longer!). She opened the door, ready to greet the reaper, only for her excitement to immediately crash and burn upon seeing who really was at that door.

"Hi Amity!" her longtime friend Willow Park chirped with an excited wave and happy smile, her girlfriend Boscha standing right behind her.

"Hey Ames," the pinkette said with a casual wave.

Willow Park was, without a doubt, Amity's oldest and best friend. They had met in kindergarten, where Amity stood up for the girl when a couple of kids were bullying her for playing with flowers instead of playing with the other children. They became close friends and had maintained their friendship ever since. Unfortunately when they were seven, Amity's parents had ordered Amity to ditch her for a new friend, since Willow and her family weren't in the same 'social class' as the Blights were. Furious with her parents, Amity did the only thing she could do; threaten to go to the police since she had evidence of her parents committing tax fraud. That had shut her parents up real quick and they (begrudgingly) agreed to let the friendship continue. They had never been prouder of their little girl.

Boscha was Amity's ex. They had met during their first year of college and initially hit it off as friends, bonding over their love for football and soccer. Eventually they started to date, but the relationship had only lasted roughly six months before they broke up. It was a mutual agreement, of course, as both agreed whatever spark they had before now no longer existed. They remained friends, and soon after Amity had introduced Boscha to Willow. They hit it off almost immediately, and not even a month later they started to date. They'd been together ever since, and while Amity was happy for them, she was slightly jealous they had such a strong relationship. Boscha had been Amity's longest relationship, since most of the other girls she'd dated only wanted one thing. Thankfully, Amity had never gone that far with any of them, not even Boscha.

"Hi guys. What are you two doing here?" Amity asked as she stepped out of the doorway, allowing them to enter her home.

"Flowers here is on spring break and wanted to visit us. She'll be staying at my place for the rest of the week," Boscha answered upon entering the apartment, looking around to see if anything had changed since the last time she was in here. A few new pictures were hung up on the walls, even a few new ones of Amity and Tony (may he rest in peace). Other than that everything the same, expect for one thing. "Amity, the hell is this?"

"What's what?" Amity asked as she closed the door before turning around, eyes widening in surprise. The pinkette was holding a maroon cat beanie in her hand, staring at Amity with a quizzical look.

"Since when did you become a furry?"

"T-That's not mine, dumbass!" Amity barked, crossing the distance between them and snatching the hat out of Boscha's hand before the girl could even blink. How hadn't she noticed the beanie here before? Luz must've left it behind on accident. "It...belongs to a friend of mine."

"Oho! Didn't think a prude like you had it in you!" Boscha exclaimed proudly before tossing an arm around Amity's shoulders, pulling the girl in close. "So, who're ya shagging?" she asked, causing Amity to squeak in embarrassment, her cheeks a sudden fiery red.

"N-No one! She's just a friend! I'm not like you, who just has to fuck everything on two legs!" Amity fired back, hoping her retort would be enough to shut her friend up. It wasn't.

"A friend with benefits or—" Boscha started to ask before a sudden and harsh pulling on her ear made her shut up.

"Dear, what did I say about behaving?" Willow asked with a kind smile and warm tone, hiding how furious she was. They hadn't even been here 15 seconds, and Boscha was already making an embarrassment out of herself.

"T-To be on my best behavior?" Boscha asked, causing Willow to hum in confirmation.

"Good girl, now stop teasing Amity and go sit on the couch," Willow ordered, letting go of her girlfriend's ear. The pinkette nodded, her face matching her hair as she rubbed her ear before making her way towards the couch.

Despite her sweet and fluffy, almost motherly or grandmotherly appearance and attitude, Willow did have a...how did you say, dominant side to her. Whenever Boscha would say or do something rude or embarrassing, Willow would always make sure to call her out on her bullshit and put the pink-haired athlete in her place. The pinkette would never admit it outloud (unless in private and ordered to do so), but she did enjoy it when Willow would let that dark side of her out to play.

"Sorry about her. So, you made a new friend! That's wonderful to hear! Who is she? How did y'all meet?" Willow asked, southern accent peeking out from how happy she was that Amity had found and made a new friend. From her understanding, Boscha has been the only friend Amity has made and kept around after all these years, so it was nice to see that she was expanding her social circle.

"Uh, well, I guess you could say we ran into each other," Amity said, inwardly smiling at her own inside joke and referencing how she and Luz officially met. "Her name is Luz, and she, uh, goes to Hexside actually!" Amity said, cringing in on herself because why would she say Hexside? Boscha knew most of the people who went there, so it wouldn't be hard for her to do some digging and figure out Amity was lying. But at least it was better than telling the truth.

"Oh that's nice! I hope I get to meet her!"

"Is she hot?" Boscha asked from the couch, causing Willow to glare at her. But the black-haired girl did take great interest upon seeing Amity's reddening face. "Ha! You so wanna fuck her."

"Shut up," she hissed, only slightly tempted to grab the nearest object and chuck it at Boscha's gigantic forehead. "I—She's cute, okay? But that doesn't mean I want to-to do anything like that!" Amity argued, her current darkened cheeks betraying her and her argument.

Before Boscha could utter another word, there was another knock at her door that interrupted her. Amity let out an aggravated sigh, fearing whoever was on the other side; the last thing she needed was her siblings dropping by unannounced, or worse, her parents. Willow gave her friend a sympathetic smile and patted her back in comfort.

"You go get the door; I'll handle Boscha," Willow said, and Amity gave her a thankful smile before heading towards the door. Willow turned, glaring at her girlfriend for her rude and unnecessary behavior before stalking towards her, causing the pink-haired girl to gulp.

"If you kill her you can't become a vet, if you kill her you can't become a vet," Amity chanted to herself upon walking up to the door. She sighed before opening the door, only to be met face-to-face with the girl who'd been plaguing her mind these past few days.

"Hiya Amity," Luz said with a nod of her head and a smile that stretched ear to ear. The girl was wearing a red tank top just like before, with the addition of ripped black jeans and matching boots. No hat this time around (since she had left it at Amity's place), allowing her beautiful hair to flow freely. The human girl yelped before slamming the door in the reaper's face.

"Amity? Is everything okay?" WIllow asked from the living room, her fists gripping Boscha by the collar of her shirt so she could scold her misbehaving girlfriend.

"Uh, yup! Everything's fine!" Amity said with a nervous laugh.

"You know, that wasn't very nice," Luz said, head peeking through the door. Amity yelped again, turning and grabbing the girl by the face before shoving her back through. The human girl breathed in and out to calm herself before finally opening the door, yet again revealing a smiling Luz. "Hiya, again, Amity."

"H-Hey Luz, b-been a while," Amity said as she tried leaning against the doorway. In her nervous state she nearly slipped against the frame and fell, but caught herself before she could. Embarrassed and no doubt looking redder than a firetruck, she cleared her throat. "So uh, what brings you by?"

"I was in the neighborhood and wanted to drop by to see my favorite human," Luz said with a smile, adoring the way Amity's face lit up from hearing her say that.

"ait, aren't I the only human you actually know?"

"I could know a billion humans, and you'd still be my favorite one out of all of them," Luz said with a small grin, cheeks flushing from admitting that outloud. It was the truth, after all. No one could ever replace Amity as her favorite human. The declaration made the human blush brighter, and sent her into a stuttering fit.

"Holy hell! Who is that?" a voice shouted from inside the apartment, and Luz watched as a girl with pink hair practically sprinted across the home and shoved Amity out of the way before falling to her knee and grabbing onto one of Luz's hands. "My darling caramel goddess! Please, tell me your name so I may emblazon it upon my heart!" Boscha exclaimed passionately, rubbing and nuzzling against the confused girl's arm like a cat. Amity could only stare in absolute horror as her friend made a fool out of herself.

"Uh, who the hell is this?" Luz asked, extremely confused, and even a bit frightened, from the loud girl who was currently caressing and rubbing against her arm. "And uh, could you not call me a 'caramel goddess'? That makes like, super uncomfortable."

"I'm sorry my goddess, I never meant to offend you. How about instead I call you the love of my life," Boscha said as she started trailing kisses up Luz's arm, somehow making things even more awkward than they already were. Amity felt like she was going to die from second hand embarrassment.

"Boscha! Get back here and leave that poor girl alone!" Willow exclaimed before grabbing Boscha by her ear, causing the pinkette to flinch and let go of Luz out of pain as she was dragged away.

"I am, so, so, so sorry about her," Amity said, mortified as she grabbed the closest object, a clean hand towel, and started wiping Luz's arm of any saliva or Boscha-ness that had been left behind.

"I mean, it's fine? I guess? I'm still in shock over the whole thing. So uh, who are those two?" Luz asked, gesturing to Willow and Boscha, whom the black-haired girl was holding back so she couldn't mess with Luz anymore.

"Uh, those would be my friends. You've unfortunately already met Boscha. The black-haired girl is her girlfriend and my best friend, Willow."

"Girlfriend? And-And she's cool with Boscha, ya know, doing this?" Luz asked while gesturing to her arm.

"Yeah. Boscha has something called 'histrionic personality disorder,' so she can't really help... all of that," Amity said awkwardly, trying to find the right words to describe Boscha's condition without sounding mean or rude. She quickly finish cleaning Luz's arm before tossing the hand towel into the sink.

"Willow, Willow," Boscha said as her girlfriend held her back. "You know how you said you'd be open to a threesome? Her. I want her," Boscha said while licking her lips like a predator, causing Luz to shiver in fear.

"ANYWAY—" Amity exclaimed, everyone in the room blushing red from how Boscha was acting. "So uh, y-you said you were just dropping by? To visit me, right? T-That's very sweet of you."

"Well, that, and I wanted to see if you were busy. That way we could maybe, I don't know, hangout or something? To make up for lost time?" Luz admitted with a blush, causing Amity to smile. "But if your friends are visiting we can do it some other time; I'd hate to rip you away from them."

"No, no, it's fine! They were just about to leave, weren't you guys?" Amity asked while turning around to her friends, her eyes telling them to leave, now.

"We should all go to the mall!" Boscha exclaimed excitedly, managing to wiggle out of Willow's grasp and prying her girlfriend's hand off of her mouth.

"Er, well Boscha, I was hoping it would just be Luz and I for the day," Amity said, trying, pleading for Boscha to get the not-so-subtle subtle hint she was sending her way.

"The more the merrier I always say! C'mon, I'll drive!" Boscha exclaimed, breaking free from Willow before grabbing Luz and Amity by their wrists and dragging them out the door. Willow sighed at her girlfriend's antics and quickly followed, locking the door behind her as she left.

(Bonesborough Mall)

The Bonesborough Mall was one of your stereotypical mega malls. Several food courts, well over 400 different stores (with, of course, some duplicates, like several shoes or clothing stores), a few play areas where adults could drop their rowdy and annoying kids off, some 'adult' stores near the end of the mall, and even a built-in movie theater. The Bonesborough Mall was, without a doubt, the most popular place to visit in Bonesborough, and where Amity (begrudgingly) found herself alongside her best friend, ex-girlfriend, and Luz. It was only begrudgingly because Boscha just had to invite herself and Willow along on what was supposed to be an outing between just her and Luz.

It was because of Boscha that Amity found herself sitting outside a dressing room in one of the more expensive clothing stores in the mall. Boscha was good friends with the manager and got special discounts, and the pinkette said she wanted to spoil the 'caramel goddess' that Amity had been 'hiding' from her; Amity was still reeling from second-hand embarrassment from the whole ordeal. When they arrived, Boscha was quick to pick out various articles of clothing before shoving them, and Luz, inside one of the changing rooms. The girl nearly tried squeezing herself inside as well, but Willow managed to pull her by the ear in order to keep her out.

"Is this really necessary? These clothes seem so fancy...and expensive," Luz said from inside the stall, hoping her words would convince Boscha to forget about this idea of hers. Luz didn't even need new clothes! She was a Grim Reaper after all; clothes were one of the most useless things a reaper could have! While intangible, reapers never sweat, so they never got stinky, and their clothes never got dirty, so many just owned one pair of socks and shoes, a pair of shorts or pants, and some kind of shirt. Plus, Luz liked and preferred the clothes she already had!

"Money isn't an issue, darling! I'll get you whatever you want, my treat!" Boscha exclaimed boldly, not afraid of flexing her wealth. Her father was a lawyer and her mother was a doctor. Mix that with a little 'side job' that she had selling used clothing online to hopeless and pathetic nerds, and money was absolutely no issue! It's how she was able to spoil Willow so much, and her friends like Amity, Skara, and Amelia. "Now, c'mon out and show us how you look!"

Amity could hear the dead girl growl from inside the changing room before hearing her unlock and open the door. She stepped out, face darkened from her blush and looking irritated and annoyed, kind of reminding Amity of a cute kitten getting woken up from its nap. The girl currently wore an empire waist dress. The top was mint green and the bottom of the dress had a beautiful flower pattern, which just barely reached her knees. To finish the outfit off, she wore a pair of white point-toe stiletto heels.

"I look ridiculous," Luz mumbled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

"You look hot!" Boscha exclaimed, trying not to drool at the thought of the girl stepping on her with those heels.

"Dear, you're drooling," Willow said, using a tissue to clean up Boscha. "But I do agree with her, you look amazing Luz! Doesn't she, Amity?" Willow asked her oldest friend, but grew confused when she didn't receive an answer. She turned and watched as Amity merely stared at the girl in front of her with wide eyes, face flushed red. She started snapping her fingers in front of Amity's face. "Amity? Amity!" she called out, managing to snap the girl out of her thoughts.

"Huh, wha-what happened?"

"I asked if you thought Luz looked nice," Willow said, taking into account how her friend looked. She recognized it, it was the same look she would receive from Boscha whenever they dressed up to go to a fancy restaurant. Her friend was obviously smitten with this new girl, which made Willow happy. Luz seemed nice, and she seemed to make Amity happy. She hoped things between them would work out.

"O-Oh! Sorry I was, um, daydreaming," Amity lied, not wanting to tell the truth that the reaper girl had stolen her breath away. "You um,you look beautiful, Luz. B-Breathtaking, even," Amity admitted, flinching at her own boldness. Was that too much? Would it freak Luz out? Maybe scare her off?

To her surprise, neither of those things happened. Instead, Luz's face darkened, and she smiled so bright it could rival Rudolhp's red nose.

"You really think so?" Luz asked, pushing another stray strand of hair behind her ear, causing Amity to choke on her words because how adorable she was, leaving her to only nod as an answer. "I...guess I could get it, if you really think I look good in it."

"You do," all three humans answered in unison before Boscha started rummaging around the other clothing she had gathered for Luz to try on. The pinkette let out a perverted giggle upon finding just the right thing. "D-Do this next," Boscha said, pulling out a red two piece swimsuit, if you could even call it that. It was very revealing, even for a swimsuit, with straps nearly as thin as a toothpick. It seemed like anyone with sizable assets would easily break it apart when trying it on; maybe that was what Boscha was going, and hoping, for? Luz gulped from the suggestion, and as Boscha approached her slowly, like a predator.

(One hour later)

"Will she be okay?" Luz asked with concern as she watched Willow give Boscha a piggyback ride to the nearest food court. As requested (more like forced) to do, Luz had tried on the swimsuit. While her assets didn't burst out like the pinkette wanted, the tight swimwear was enough to literally knock Boscha off of her feet, blood running from her nose at a rapid, almost unstoppable speed. She bought it for Luz, among many, many other items, and had her manager friend bring it out to her car. With the amount of blood she lost, the girls didn't trust her to walk on her own, so Willow ended up piggybacking her out of the store and down the mall.

Willow's and Amity's reactions were a lot less extreme. Both girls had blushed from seeing more of Luz's body, and while Willow may not have noticed it, Amity certainly did. 'It' being a scar Luz had on her chest, and Amity had assumed it was from when Luz had been shot and killed when she was still alive. It was roughly three inches long, some of it trailing up her right breast, hidden by the swimsuit. Amity had to physically restrain herself from walking forward and tracing it with her finger, fascinated, entranced, by the wound. What did it feel like? Did it still hurt the girl? So many questions, and unfortunately, she'd never know the answer to it.

"Eh, she'll be fine. She lost way more blood when she came to watch my school's swim team," Willow answered, adjusting the girl on her back and getting a better grip on her thigh. She blushed upon hearing the girl moan from the contact; she could be such a horny little fucker sometimes.

"If you say so. I do feel bad about making her, ya know, almost die. Maybe lunch should be on me?" Luz offered. She didn't have any money, but that didn't mean she couldn't just turn intangible, go in the back, and steal whatever they wanted. Was it wrong? Sure. Was it illegal? Yes. Did she care? Not really. The food was usually overpriced (from what she could remember, she hasn't been to a mall for over 10 years) and, well, she was dead. Why in literal hell would she care about breaking a law or two? Plus stealing some food wouldn't hurt anyone.

"Don't worry, Boscha was the one who strong-armed her way into yours and Amity's time out. It's the least she could do; isn't that right, dear?" Willow asked her girlfriend.

"Totally worth it," Boscha said while resting her head atop of Willow's. The girl felt fine enough to walk now. She just really liked being carried.

Luz nodded and couldn't help but smile at the couple. They seemed really nice, leaving the reaper glad Amity had friends she could depend on and turn to, should she need anything. And despite their (Boscha's) flaws, they did seem like genuinely nice people, who truly loved and cared about one another. She could only imagine the laughter the two shared, the glances and stares and smiles only meant for one another and no one else, the soft cuddles on a cold night. The imagery did make her ever so jealous. Maybe if luck was on her side, she and Amity could—

Luz's train of thought was interrupted by a strange sound. It was like metal straining, trying and failing to keep itself from falling apart. No one else seemed to notice, as a reaper's hearing was far superior to that of a human's. She looked around as the others talked, trying to find its source. Finally, her eyes looked towards the ceiling, and she watched as wires that were holding up a large sign from one of the upper stories slowly came undone. There was an inevitable snap and she watched with wide eyes as the sign started to fall. And with how fast it was going, mixed with its path, the sign was readying to smash into—

"Amity!" Luz shouted, running and tackling the human out of the way a mere split second before the sign smashed into the floor where the girl once stood. There were sounds of shouting all around them as regular shoppers, exployees, and even mall security rushed to the scene. "Amity! Are you okay?" Luz asked as she got off the girl, trying not to crush her.

"Y-Yeah, I'm all right," Amity said, shaken but untouched as she sat up. Her and Luz stared at the giant sign, most of its lettering had fallen off, leaving just four simple letters: 'D E A D.' Amity gulped, terrified at the strange coincidence, while Luz stared up at where the sign once used to hang.

Something didn't feel right…

(One hour later)

It took another hour before Luz and Amity finally arrived back at her place. After the sign incident, police and paramedics were called and arrived at the scene. While the paramedics checked to see if everyone was all right, the police asked Amity questions. While it seemed like a simple accident, this was a Blight they were talking about, so naturally you couldn't rule out foul play. They had asked her a few questions: did she have any enemies, had she received any threats recently, had she noticed anything strange or unusual. When she answered no to everything, they allowed her and the others to leave and told her to call them if she thought of anything or if she felt unsafe.

Boscha drove them all back, where the pinkette and Willow had offered to come inside to spend time with her, maybe talk about her near-death experience. Amity had insisted she was fine and that for now she just needed Luz. Willow was understanding. Boscha had made a dirty joke that got her two dark blushes and an angry scowl from Willow. Boscha and Willow drove off, leaving Luz and Amity to carry all the bags inside. Amity offered to let Luz keep the clothing here, as to hopefully not raise any suspicion in The Void. As Amity placed the final bag in her closet, she shut the door with a sigh of relief.

"Whew, my aching back," Amity groaned, pushing on her lower back, hoping that it'll pop back into place.

"Amity...are you okay?" Luz asked with concern laced in her tone as she eyed the human. "I mean, you just had ano—a near death experience. You're taking it...rather well, better than most people," Luz said, watching as the human contemplated on what to say.

"To be honest, I should be asking if you're okay," Amity said, confusing Luz.

"What? Why wouldn't I be?"

"Luz! Don't you realize what you've done?" Amity asked, prompting Luz to shake her head. "Luz! You just broke another one of Death's rules! For me! First you let me see you and know all about reapers and heaven and everything else, then you save me from dying! That's two out of three rules!" Amity exclaimed, worried for what would happen to Luz if Death ever found out.

Luz refused to correct her, to let the girl know what Luz had broken all three rules for Amity.

"Maybe-Maybe it's for the best if you forget about me. I'm not worth all the trouble you'd get in!"

"No!" Luz exclaimed, causing Amity to jump from how sudden it was. "I—No, I'm not forgetting about you!" Luz said, closing the distance and gently grabbing onto Amity's hands. "Amity you're-you're the most important person in my life right now. You bring me so much joy that I haven't felt in such a long time! That's why-That's why I'm willing to do whatever it takes to keep you safe, Death's rules be damned!"

Amity was left speechless, and redder than she ever had been from the declaration. It felt... weird hearing such words, good weird of course! Yes there were some people who cared about her, such as her siblings, Willow, and Boscha, but to hear Luz say it, that she made Luz so happy and that Luz was willing to do whatever, even defy Death itself, to keep her safe?

She was falling harder and harder for the dead girl.

"If you want, I'll leave you alone so you can think," Luz said, letting go and turning away to leave.

"W-Wait," Amity said, reaching out and grabbing one of Luz's hands. The reaper turned, surprised to see Amity so red and embarrassed. The human dared not to meet her gaze; it reminded Luz of the classic and overdone (but nowhere near a bad thing) anime trope. "Could-Could you stay for a little while longer, w-with me?" Amity asked, causing Luz to blush herself. The reaper smiled and nodded eagerly

How could she say no to her human?

(Several hours later. Nighttime. Bonesborough Mall)

The Bonesborough Mall was as empty and quiet as a cemetery. No one was around, save for an intangible, floating Luz. After spending hours with Amity, which involved some talking (more like ranting via Amity because some of her professors were being assholes) they had had some dinner and watched some TV, which led to the human girl falling asleep against Luz's arm. After squealing to herself about how cute Amity was, Luz lifted the girl up and tucked her into bed before leaving and coming here.

Something didn't feel right about the sign. The timing had been too perfect, and the letters gave Luz an off-putting vibe. She went to the same spot. The sign had been picked up and cones and tape were placed around the area to prevent anyone walking through and potentially slipping or falling. Luz floated upwards to where the sign was once attached, inspecting the cable that ultimately led to it falling down. Her eyes widened upon closer inspection to find that the wiring hadn't come undone like the police and employees had initially thought, but had been instead cut with something.

Luz floated backwards in thought. How could that be? There was no way a human could get up there and do it, especially not with so many other humans around; surely someone would've seen something! No, no a human couldn't have done this.

Luz's eyes widened. If not a human, then it must have been a grim reaper!

But who could it be? It couldn't have been Matt. He had been fired and sent to hell for 'lying' to Death. Matt had been the only reaper who knew all about Amity, so who? Who could've done this? And why? And if this reaper had tried once, who was to say they wouldn't try again? The mere thought drove shivers down Luz's spin. She may not know everything, but she knew one thing at least.

She was going to stay by Amity's side as much as she could, at least until she discovered who was causing this.

Sorry this took so long! Been battling depression, school, and having no motivation whatsoever. But I'm back with a new chapter, one I hope you all enjoyed! However, I have an announcement y'all probably won't enjoy...

For the time being, unless I get like a sudden urge to do so, this story will be on a temporary hiatus. You're probably asking 'but why ghost?'. Well it's simple. As some of you may be able to tell, I've spent a lot more time focusing on my OTHER Owl House fanfic '10 ways to get a human to fall in love with you'. Since I've focused so much on that fic, I've hardly worked on this fic at all. I mean, come on, it only has 5 chapters after being out for 6 months now! And the last update was nearly 3 months ago! It isn't right that I've spent so little time on this story and so much time on '10 ways'. It's why I plan on finishing up '10 ways' before continuing this story, that way I can give this story my full undivided attention.

Of course, that's not to say I won't get boosts of motivation here and there and continue writing this story, but for the time being it'll be on hiatus. I apologize to you all, and I hope you can forgive me.

If you'd like more Owl House goodness, you can check out '10 ways'. You can also follow me on Instagram, ghost509_ and join my discord server. Just DM me and I'll get you the invite link, or you can go to my linktree profile and find it there.

I guess that's it for now? Thank you all for the wonderful support, it has truly meant a lot. Join me next time when Luz meets two people Amity simultaneously loves and hates. See ya in chapter 6!
