"Door number 5." Shirou noted. "We'll be halfway there after this one."
"Yeah, let's see where this one takes us." Eddy said opening up the door as light filled the void.
The group then found themselves in a dark area, ruins floating all around them.
"Hey… ain't this the place where we fought that weird jester… thing, during the World of Light?" ZS asked.
"Jester...wait...you mean…" Jexi said, as they turned to see a small creature in a jester cap. "Marx."
"Should've known. This guy was annoying pulling that quiz on us while trying to rescue fighters." Ace said.
Just then, black smoke swirled around and enveloped Mark, floating into the air. When the smoke cleared, they now faced a Marx that looked even more monstrous than he did in the World of Light.
H̛҉E̡H҉E͟H̵͢E͟H̵̶̢E͢͝H̀E҉H̀͡A̷H̷A̴̷͟H̕͢A̛HA̧͘H̸Á̸Ḩ͡AH̷͞A̛HA͢Ḩ̴A̷̕H̡͟͠!̧́!̢͝!̡҉
"...Okay, since when did Marx have that form?" Eddy asked.
"Probably after the first time Kirby defeated him." Mari said. "This is the result of him absorbing Galactic Nova's power after it was destroyed when Marx crashed into it."
"Well then, let's take him down!" Bardock said, powering up.
(Cue- Vs Marx- Kirby Super Star Ultra)
Marx Soul flew around the stage as he fired wide beams of energy at the group. They avoided them as they fired back at the maniacal jester as he continued to distortely laugh.
"Enough with the damn laughing!" Bardock said as he dashed towards Marx Soul, flash stepping behind him, then delivered an overhead strike from behind, sending the Soul Monster crashing to the ground.
"Keep smiling in hell!" Zephyr said as he tossed a bunch of grenades as they exploded all at once, blowing Marx Soul to bits as he let out a blood curdling scream.
Mark then appeared again, this time with a sad smile.
"This was the first major enemy I defeated as part of the Hero Alliance. God, after that I felt like… I belonged in this group. How could I ever think something like that? Man… I really am worthless, aren't I?"
"Stop saying you're worthless, Mark!" Hope said. "I know I'm talking to a vision of you, but you can't decide to die just because of these feelings locked inside you! If you had these feelings, you should've told us, we'd be here for you!"
"...I wish I could believe that you would."
The group then reappeared back in the first void, looking shocked at the last thing the cognition had said.
"It… it actually responded!" Rin said in shock.
"Mark's feelings must be becoming more approachable in someway if it could respond like that." Twilight said.
"But what did it mean 'I wish I could believe that you would'?" Frisk asked. "Does that mean… Mark thinks we wouldn't help him if he told the truth about his feelings?"
"Well it shouldn't matter what he thinks. We're saving him even if he doesn't want us to." Pit said.
"You'll get no arguments from me." Goku said. "I'm not smart, but even I know that when a friend is in trouble, I help them."
"Let's continue to go through these doors, and save Mark. We're getting him back." Hope said.
