"Thanks again for meeting up with me so late!" Ladybug greeted Chat Noir as he arrived on the rooftop beside her.

"A late night rondevou with Mi'Lady?!" Chat Noir winked at her, and leaned in nose to nose with her, "You know I could never turn that down!"

"Common' Chat this is serious!" She held him back with her index finger against his chest.

Chat Noir's was undeterred. He swiftly caught up her hand in his and knelt down on one knee, and laid on a deadpan expression saying, "I'm so glad you think it's finally time for the two of us to get serious. What do you think? Spring wedding too soon?"

"Chat!" Ladybug shot him a warning glare.

"Okay, okay, too soon I get it!" Chat Noir's snuck a light kiss on the back of her hand, before standing back up beside her. "I was just trying to lighten the mood."

Ladybug dropped her back against the brick wall behind her and sighed.

"Ladybug?" Chat Noir asked concerned, and dropping the act. "What's wrong?"

She looked up at him, but dropped her gaze, shaking her head. "I messed up big time," she said sombrely. "My identity is out there! Someone who should never have had to carry my secret now knows!"

"I know you're worried at what might happen, or how things will be different, but don't be!" Chat Noir's put a arm around her shoulder. "This could make things so much better!"

"Better?" Ladybug asked looking up at him questioningly.

"Well sure! Now that I know who you are I can help you hide your identity, find you easily when akumas show up, or...you know...get to know each other better!" Chat Noir said hopefully.

Ladybug looked at him sympathetically, "Oh Kitty, I almost wish that it was you."

"What do you mean?" Chat Noir stepped back.

"If anyone deserves to know...after every time you've sacrificed everything to protect me and my secret it's you...but you're not the one I'm talking about," Ladybug said sadly.

"How can you still keep denying this?" Chat Noir asked in a hurt voice. "We looked at each other face to face today! You know I know!"

"You don't," Ladybug's voice rose. "I'm so sorry Chat. I know you've wanted to share our identities for so long, but who you think I am right now...well, I'm not!"

"Who then?" Chat Noir's demanded.

"Who...I...well...I..." Ladybug faltered, looking shocked.

"Who knows who you really are if it's not me you were talking about?" Chat Noir insisted.

"I'm not sure if it's such a good idea to say..." Ladybug tried to avoid his eyes.

"Who Ladybug?" Chat Noir implored in a softer tone.

Ladybug stopped stalling, and met his gaze. "Mireille... Mireille Caquet knows who I am."

"Mireille knows," Chat Noir raised an eyebrow and his crossed arms tensed.

"Yes," Ladybug nodded.

"Mireille," Chat Noir repeated less than impressed.

"Yes," Ladybug repeated, sensing Chat Noir wasn't believing her.

"Soo, Mireille...do you think we can trust her?" Chat Noir asked in an uncharacteristically sarcastic tone.

"I hope so, but I'm feeling so exposed and don't know what is going to happen," Ladybug confided in him.

Chat Noir instantly softened towards her, and brushed against her shoulder. She was feeling vulnerable he thought. Here he was so excited about what knowing his partner's identity could mean for their future, while she was terrified that she had made a mistake that could put them at risk. If she had to pretend that she wasn't Mireille to try to protect her secret, he wasn't going to push her until she was ready.

"Mi'Lady, no matter what you and I have overcome so much together. Together we can make it through anything!" Chat Noir put his arm around her again, and gave her a encouraging squeeze. To his surprise she folded in towards him, and clung into his chest. His breath caught in his throat.

"Thank you Kitty," she murmured, pressed against him. "Maybe someday I'll finally get to tell you my name."

"For now," he purred, "I think Bugaboo suits you just fine."

Dispute everything she giggled, and gave him a playful nudge. "You never change," she smiled.

"And just when I think I have you all figured out, you always find a way to surprise me," Chat Noir leaned back in admiration.

"Let's just try and keep things low key, and I'll keep an eye out for Mireille," Ladybug wound her yoyo around her hand.

"You know, I wouldn't mind checking in with Mireille," Chat Noir tried to keep the eagerness from edging his voice.

Ladybug stiffened, and turned serious again. "Chat Noir, you can't start turning up around her now that she knows. The further any heroes are from her, the safer the secret is. Promise me you won't go seek her out!"

"I promise that Chat Noir will not start invading Mirelle's space uninvited," Chat Noir dutifully put his paw against his heart, and gave a bow.

Ladybug gave a nod in affirmation, and flung her yoyo across to the next roof. "I'll see you soon Kitty," she called as she cast herself gracefully across the city skyline.

"Sooner than you think Mirelle," Chat Noir whispered under his breathe.
