Hello everyone. Sorry again about the long wait in between uploads. Hopefully, these will start to come out more frequently.

"It won't work!" Leon told Max.

"Why Not!?" She asked back.

"What part of I used to date her mother don't you get?" He asked.

"That was like 20 years ago." Replied Max. "It's time to move on."

Max just didn't understand. He'd be lying if he said he didn't like Chloe, but it was just weird.

"Wait a minute…" Max suddenly inquired "You're not…"

"No!" Leon replied firmly knowing what max was going to say. "Me and her mother never did that, we just dated for a couple of months."

"Okay, then…" Max tried to continue.

"No, Max it just wouldn't work." Said Leon as the two arrived at Max's house.

Max sighed. "Listen, I have 4 tickets to that concert in the park next week. One of them is yours.

Said Max as she walked toward her house.

"I'm just saying, she's most likely not going to remember any of this either way right?"

"I'll remember." Leon replied.

Max opened her door but looked back before going in.

"That's the point."

Alex waited downstairs. Jonas and his father actually lived just a few blocks from her house. Logically since her mother and his father never got together one would suspect that they would remain wherever they were before, but that was not the case. Work apparently is what drove them to move here. Still though it was strange they moved so close. The town was by no means big but they still had plenty of rental properties that were nowhere near Alex's neighbourhood.

"Be down in a minute" Called Jonas from upstairs. His father was in the backyard just sitting on a lawn chair. Strange, since he was quite active in the timelines where he and her mother were married. Jonas said it was her mother who inspired him to exercise more.

Just then Alex heard footsteps coming down the stairs. They belonged to Jonas.

"All right ready," He said to Alex. "Dad I'm leaving!" He called as the two-headed out.

His dad simply waved in reply.

"How has he been doing?" Alex asked as the two reached Jonas' car.

"Pretty much the same." He answered as they got in the car. "I know he's a little different, but the new job takes a lot out of him."

"What Job is that?" Alex asked as they pulled off.

"You know what my dad does." He replied.

"Yeah," answered Alex. "But doesn't he still work down at the restaurant?"

"He works at a restaurant, but at that Greek place downtown. They have low staff right now, so he's been pulling a bunch of double shifts." He responded.

Alex thought to herself. It was her mother's friend who worked at the 4-star restaurant who was able to help him get that job. Without their marriage, he no longer had that connection.

"It's amazing that yall still end up here though isn't it?" She said.

"God's blessing," replied Jonas. "This is a lot better than where I grew up."

"We're they really mean to you?" She asked.

"No, it's just people start to treat you differently after a tragedy." Replied Jonas

"I know how that feels." Said Alex remembering how it was during the times Michael had drowned.

"Oh, right…" Jonas Responded. "Sometimes I forget, well given… you know."

Alex sighed.

"Yeah… I know."

March 7, 1943

Maggie waited for what seemed to be quite a long time. In reality, it had been under an hour.

She didn't care. She would wait all day if she had to.

To say she was nervous was an understatement. She must have checked the latitude and longitude half a dozen times to make sure she was in the right spot.

Out there, in the middle of the sea, her house looked rather small.

*splash*

Maggie turned around. Being alerted by a loud sound behind her. It sounded almost like something had jumped out of the water and gone back in.

Maybe it was a dolphin. Thought Maggie.

She didn't see anything. There was a slight whitening in the water where… whatever animal had splashed was, but other than that…

"Really Maggie? I gave you exact coordinates!" Said Leon as he emerged from the water.

Maggie started to get the engine going and headed in his direction. She was laughing slightly thought that was partially due to her excitement.

"I followed your coordinates to the T." She assured him as she helped him into the boat.

"How long have you been waiting?" He asked.

"About an hour." She replied as she handed him a towel.

"Well, you do realize the boat drifts slightly despite the fact that you aren't purposely moving it?" He asked as he began drying off with the towel.

Maggie stared blankly for a second. "Sorry." She said finally.

"No worries," Leon replied. "Any way you ready?" he asked.

"I've been ready since you told me about this a week ago." Came the reply.

"Now remember you only have two hours before the sub moves from the weak spot." Leon reminded her as he began to open a portal.

"I know." She assured him.

"You know that now, but will you remember when you're in the thick of things?" He asked.

"Do you have to go there?" She replied as the portal opened.

"Just saying perhaps set an alarm clock just in case you two lose track of time." Said Leon.

"I'll take the boat back, and I'm going to use your bathtub if you don't mind." He said.

"Of Course not." Replied Maggie as she prepared to step into the portal.

"Anna shouldn't be back until tonight anyway."

With that, she stepped into the portal, which immediately closed behind her. Which she preferred. She needed privacy for what was about to happen.

Present Day

Alex Sat in the parked car. Honestly, the silence was beginning to get to her. The two had already finished their meal and for the last 20 minutes had sat in solitude, just watching the town.

It seemed as though neither wanted to be the one to break the ice. Alex had thought about it, but couldn't find a gentle way to say what she had come to say.

"So…" Jonas said finally. "What's going on?"

Alex smiled. "Really?"

"Sorry, I don't like the silence." He retorted. "Besides you were the one who wanted to talk."

That was true. After what she had gone through with Michael just the other night, Alex was pondering something. Something that she needed Jonas to confirm. It was just hard to bring up. She wasn't even sure how to properly ask the question.

"Okay…" She said finally. "You see the other day Michael told me some things that were, rather disturbing."

Alex took a deep breath before continuing.

"Michael seemed to be getting flashbacks about drowning and my parents getting a divorce?"

Alex expected some sort of reaction. However, Jonas simply turned his face forward and stared out into the distance.

"Did you hear me?" She asked.

Jonas grabbed his drink cup holder and took a sip of what Alex suspected to mostly just be melted ice.

"You know Dad's been talking a lot about your mother lately." He said finally.

"What?!" She exclaimed.

"Shortly after the island, they bumped into each other at the store. Ever since then he's been mentioning her on and off."

"The other day…" Jonas continued. "…while he was making breakfast one morning he called me and said Tell your sister breakfast is ready!. I asked him who? When I came downstairs he looked at me confused, but basically just shrugged it off."

Alex thought for a moment. Come to think of it her mother had been talking about him too every now and again. She even remembers her mother asking if they had met Jonas before. "That boy looks so familiar." Her mother had told her.

"You really think they're remembering alternate timelines?" Jonas asked.

"I don't know, maybe it's just a residual effect or something like that." She replied. "I mean remember when I said you were my stepbrother. You told me you thought deep down you knew I was telling the truth.

Jonas took a sip of his now nonexistent beverage.

He really does eat when nervous. Thought Alex.

"I think you may be right." He said finally.

Alex took a sip of her own drink, but her's still had some liquid inside.

"So how far do you think it goes?" She asked.

"How far does what go?" Jonas asked back.

"Like…" Alex began still trying to formulate her reply. "Like much of it do you think they remember like… subconsciously?"

Jonas shrugged his shoulders.

"Probably just… I don't know… hopefully not much." He stated.

Alex looked over to the town again.

She began to wonder how many people this really affected. Their teachers? Their friends from high school? Their parents?

Who else was experiencing memories from a different time?

And an even more important question…

Would they stop remembering alternate timelines when they finally destroyed the source?

Alex pondered all this before realizing she was suddenly alone in the car. She looked around, but saw Jonas nowhere.

"Jonas!? Jonas!?" She called.

There was no answer.

Alex got out of the car and began to scan the horizon for her missing friend.

She finally saw him about 20 feet away from the car. He was just standing there. She wasn't sure what he was looking at. From where she was all she saw was his back.

"Jonas?" She said as she approached him.

No answer.

"Hello, earth to Jonas…"

No answer.

"Okay, you're really starting to freak me out."

Still no Answer.

She put her hand on his shoulder as she reached him. He didn't even flinch.

"You… think you… can stop it…"

The voice seemed to emerge from Jonas, but it was not his voice.

Alex took her hand off his shoulder. "Jonas…" She said again.

This time he turned around in one eerie motion. His eyes were closed.

"It… will never… stop…"

Suddenly his eyes opened. No pupil, No white, just burning red.

"Jonas!?" Alex Screamed.

He grabbed her so tight she couldn't move. She opened her mouth to scream but nothing came out. Suddenly everything went slow. Jonas' red eyes seemed to be drilling into her skull.

Let go! She tried to say, but the words wouldn't come out.

"Never… stop…" The voice said again.

"Let Go!"

This time the words shot out of Alex's mouth, but she was no longer with Jonas, in fact, she was the only one here… in her bed.

Her breathing was heavy and she was dripping in sweat.

Suddenly someone burst into the room, causing Alex to jump slightly in the bed.

It was Michael.

"What's wrong?" He asked as he came next to her on the bed.

Alex breathing began to calm. She wiped her face with her sleeve to remove some of the perspiration.

"What happened?" She asked Michael.

"You were yelling in your sleep. Your screams woke me up." He replied.

Alex began to realize she was dreaming. "Sorry Michael, just… a nightmare." She told him.

"About what?" He asked her.

"Nothing important." She replied. "Go back to bed."

Michael remained in the room despite what his sister had told him.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

Alex peered over to the clock. It was 4:17 am.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She told him.

"Well, I'm not." He said.

Alex looked to her brother.

"What are you talking about?"

Michael adjusted so he was sitting right next to her on the bed.

"I've been having these strange dreams lately." He told her. "You know, about what we went through on the island."

Alex sat up and put her back on the bedhead.

"Well, that's understandable." She said calmly. "I mean that was a trip."

"Yeah, if it stopped there I probably wouldn't even be telling you this." Replied Michael as he put his back on the bedhead.

"What do you mean." Asked Alex.

She looked at Michael but he didn't return the gaze. He simply looked straight ahead while he spoke.

"I keep… it's just… I'm drowning." He said finally.

"What!?" asked Alex.

"Lately I've been dreaming about drowning… a lot."

Alex didn't know how to respond. Should she tell him what happened? How she had somehow gone back in time and changed the future? Would it help him? Would it freak him out? Would he even believe her?

"Well it's probably just a residual effect." Said Michael breaking Alex's train of thought.

"What did you say?" She asked him.

"A residual effect." He repeated. "You know from what happened on the island."

Alex didn't reply.

That's the same thing I told Jonas. She thought. Or was that all a dream?

Alex wasn't sure. What she had dreamed and what had actually happened was kind of muddled.

She didn't have time to figure it out as she heard Michael let out a yawn.

"Well, I'm heading back to bed." He said. "Thanks for listening siss."

He gave her a peck on her forehead before he left. Once again leaving Alex alone with her thoughts.

As the time drew closer and closer for them to return to the island, things seemed to be getting more and more confusing, and she wasn't so sure it was all just a "residual effect".

Alex lied down in her bed. Truth be told she was pretty tired. She had too many thoughts about what had just happened.

Might as well try to get some rest. There was no use in worrying about it.

Whatever was going on, God willing would cease…

…Once they destroyed the source.

Thank you all who made it to the end.

May God bless you all.
