Yolanda grunted as she was thrown back by the force, clutching her jaw in pain. "Tyler! Have you gone mad!?" Yolanda shouted in rage as he glared at the duo as she felt her nose bleeding from the impact.
Rick and Beth just stared at Yolanda as they walked towards her.
"What the hell is wrong with you two!?" Yolanda asked angrily.
The two teens didn't respond as they continued to walk forward, throwing another punch at her. "You both are really asking for this!" Yolanda grunted as she leaped over the table, turning around quickly, knocking Beth down with a swift kick to her face. She went out cold easily, while Rick kicked the table with full force, prompting the Latina to jump off it, landing on her feet.
Yolanda was confused now. What on Earth got into her friend's head, they were on her side not even an hour ago, and now, they were attacking her? It literally made no sense. "Hourman! Stop!" Wildcat said loudly now, as she blocked a strong punch from Rick, but with his enhanced strength, Yolanda was knocked back, hitting the wall behind her hard before falling down on the floor. Yolanda groaned as she got up, slamming her fist on the floor with frustration. "Oh! This is so on!" Yolanda shouted as she tried to return a punch.
Hourman didn't even blink as he caught Yolanda's fist, grabbing it before throwing Yolanda across the room again, sending her crashing into the table that was already overturned earlier.
Being the fighter she was, Yolanda stood back up again, ignoring the pain she felt, she charged towards Hourman again, intending to knock him off his footing, which the teen dodged easily before returning a strong kick to her torso, knocking her back again.
"Fucking traitor," Yolanda spat as she laid on the ground, clutching her stomach as she grovelled in pain while Hourman just walked towards her, balling his hand into a fist, ready to crush Yolanda's skull.
Yolanda closed her eyes, right as she saw Rick's fist move forward at a frightening speed, but the pain never came. All she heard was a warping sound, a loud thud then a crash. The Latina opened her eyes and was very much surprised with what she saw. "C- Co- I mean, Stargirl?"
Stargirl was standing in place of Hourman, holding onto her staff, glowing bright as ever. "In the flesh," Courtney said as she helped Yolanda up.
"Oh, you have no idea how glad I am to see you here," Wildcat chuckled dryly.
"What were you thinking? Coming here like that? You could have at least told me? I thought you were the more mature one of the group!" Courtney scolded, mostly out of her concern for her friend's safety. "And what the hell is going on? What happened to you? Why is Hourman attacking you!? Why is Dr. Mid-Nite on the floor unconscious!?"
"Do I look like I know all the answers?" asked Yolanda scowling. "I am as clueless as you are!" Yolanda answered as she saw Dr. Mid-Nite got up, prompting her to quickly turn towards her, standing in a stance ready to attack.
"Have you gone crazy?" asked Courtney in surprise to see her friend about to attack.
"What? She attacked me first!" Wildcat protested.
"And you were going to slash her open!?" asked Courtney pointing towards Wildcat's claws.
"I uhh…" Yolanda said awkwardly.
"Wildcat? S- Stargirl?" Beth groaned as she woke up, blurry. "Wait… what just happened?" asked Dr. Mid-Nite. "Oh, my head hurts," the girl groaned as she massaged her temples.
Courtney turned and glared at Wildcat. "You see?"
Wildcat was speechless, she just wiped the blood off her nose, confused now.
The team was at Courtney's house, resting after escaping the ISA's old base without any more interruption.
"So, let me get this straight, you said you heard someone, playing some kind of music, before everything was blank?" asked Yolanda in disbelief as she was holding an ice packet to her head.
"Yeah," Rick said, while doing the same as Beth and Yolanda.
"Fiddler," Courtney muttered, remembering the old JSA files she read. "But… Principal Bowin was announced dead right?"
"Court, we just got into a world of crazy world saving, at this point, coming back from death wouldn't be something odd anymore," Yolanda groaned. "Well, at least it is good to see you up and about."
"Yeah, we really need to get prepared, for what is coming next," Courtney sighed. "It is not going to be easy, especially when Cindy knows who I am, and if Cameron did join them, they would know who we are, which will be bad…"
"How is Pat?" asked Rick.
"Healing," Courtney mumbled.
"Look, it is not your fault Court," Beth sighed.
"No, it is, but I am going to make this right," Courtney said firmly. "Tomorrow, we train after school, and we have to do patrols, they could come anytime, we need to be ready." The other three teenagers looked at each other, nodding in agreement.
"Pat! No!"
His daughter's voice rang clear through his head, as consciousness slowly came back to him. Pat's eyes opened, he groaned as he sat up, looking around. "Where the hell am I… in the hospital?"
Issac Bowin walked through the dark corridors, holding his violin or more accurately, her mother's violin. The boy walked into a room, where there was a circular table, not much different from the old ISA's meeting room, where Cindy was already there, waiting.
"I assumed you drove them out of there?" asked Cynthia smirking as she turned to look at Issac.
"It is done," Issac confirmed.
"Good, as much as I hate that place, it has its uses," Cindy chuckled dryly. "Thank you, Issac."
The teen nodded before walking away, leaving Cindy to look at the screen, smirking at the picture of the team over Christmas.
"I am going to tear you apart, all of you," Cindy smirked.
