ESKK: Well let's start the chapter.

*Insert Cruel Angels Thesis
-Zankoku na tenshi no you ni. Shonen yo, shinwa ni nare...-
As the song began a ripple was seen as it began to fade back to the background of the Void. Following it was five circles interlocked into each other each with varying image of a mountain, tree, wave, storm, and crystal. The five circles spread out into five different trees centered by crests associated with these circles. The scene came to an end with what looked like deep water of some unknown source. Just then the music kicked up and with it the title made itself known.
"NEON GENESIS WARFRAME!"
-Aoi kaze ga ima mune no doa wo tataitemo, Watashi dake wo tada mitsumete Hohoenderu Anata-
The scene started with a clear blue sky and Shinji as he seemed to be looking off into the distance as he stood there in his Transference Suit modeled after his Plug suit. AS the image of Shinji began to turn phantom images of Asuka and Rei appeared also in their Transference suits no doubt modeled after their old Plug suits. But floating behind them were the images of Valkyr and Trinity to show who they belong to.
-Sotto Fureru mono Motomeru koto ni muchuu de Unmei sae mada shiranai itaikena hitomi-
The scene then showed the afternoon sky as the red showed that day was making way for night. On it three sets of hands were seen drawing an image in the sand. From a closer look it then showed the phantom image of a cross floating out of a Lotus flower with a twin pronged lance floating over it. Following it was the images of Misato rising up as with the Lotus who was without her helm but was facing away obscuring her true face, and finally the image of Yui Ikari holding the Lotus helmet in her hands.
Following it up was the image of Misato and Yui sitting across from each other as the Lotus floated between them. Behind the three was the image of Shinji as before an image of Rei showed up. As the image of Rei became the focus her form was then replaced by the image of Trinity who looked ready for combat. From there it showed the Transference Pod activating Excalibur beginning to move and finally the Landing Craft coming in to face the enemy.
-Dakedo itsuka kizuku deshou Sono senaka ni wa-
The image then showed Shinji sitting in the Transference Pod with his eyes closed focusing on his Warframe. From there Excalibur then appeared standing tall like a noble hero prepared to go into battle. Once that was done it showed the images of what appeared to be Excalibur Prime standing ominously, Misato in a Tenno faction suit overseeing a mission, the Lotus watching the battle take place, and finally Rei standing next to her Trinity.
-Haruka mirai mezasu tame no Hane ga aru koto...-
The image then showed Excalibur drawing his Exalted Blade and from it wings from the Impact sprouted from Excalibur's back comprised of void energy. The image then flashed to a black Excalibur roaring and from it the theme hit its climax.
-Zankoku na tenshi no te-ze Madobe kara yagate tobitatsu-
The images then began to flash to visions of battle and violence. The verse got high as images flashed of Excalibur fighting through Grineer, Corpus, Infested, and Sentient. It then flashed through images of Mana, Tenshin, Lotus, and the leaders of the Syndicates, and topping off with the image of the Dojo.
-Hotobashiru atsui patosu de Omoide wo uragiru nara-
The scene then showed Trinity raising her head and then flashed to Valkyr activating her Hysterics ability and summoning her claws. Following it up were images of Rei and Asuka before images of what appeared to be look-a-likes of Kensuke, Toji, and Hikari. They were dressed in varying outfits from Cetus and Fortuna. Then an image of Excalibur falling from the sky via his Archwing doing a flip before images of a red earth and a black Excalibur was seen. Following it up were images of a Sentient, an Orokin, and Excalibur Prime before the, images showed the black Excalibur and Excalibur Prime both holding a spear with two prongs on it.
-Kono zora wo daite kagayaku Shonen yo, shinwa ni nare-
The image finally showed Excalibur spreading his arms out but as he did this Excalibur became Excalibur Umbra and from it Shinji came out via Transference. The event then came to an end with a plaque that was written in the language of the Orokin.
(Start Conclave)
Gunfire was heard as two Squads of Tenno went head to head in the Conclave. Shinji, Rei, and Asuka were seen using Excalibur, Trinity, and Valkyr while hiding behind cover as the gunfire continued. "We're pinned down!" Asuka yelled as she looked to Rei.
"We require a plan." Rei said knowing exactly why they were in this situation. "One that does not involve charging head first into the fight." Rei said sounding like she was scolding Asuka for this.
"Hey you followed, Wonder Girl!" Asuka countered as she glared at Rei. Apparently each Tenno had a call sign to different them in the field without using their real names. Since many Tenno seemed to have the same Warframes at times it was hard to tell them apart by Frame's alone. Wonder Girl had become Rei's call sign despite her misgivings against it thanks to Asuka.
"I was not denying that." Rei explained as she knew what she did.
"Move!" Shinji called out and thus the trio quickly bullet jumped away when a Rhino Warframe slammed down a Fraggor upon them. Following it up was a Volt Frame as Rei had to avoid being blasted by its thunder before Shinji was blindsided from behind by an Ash Warframe. The battle continued as the trio were getting their asses handed to them as they quickly went for a retreat.
Once they got far enough Asuka had an idea. "WE need to make a bee-line for the objective." Asuka said but Rei begged to differ.
"No that would be suicide we must flank them and draw their attention before making the attempt." Rei said as Asuka glared at Rei.
"Hey First I'm in charge here and I say we charge them." Asuka said but Rei was against it. "No one had agreed to your leadership making a strategic miscalculation like that will cost us and." Rei began but just then the trio were hit. Asuka cried out as her Warframe suffered a headshot, Rei's was knocked down by the Ash and stabbed, and finally Excalibur was sent to the ground by the Rhino Warframe and slammed by its hammer ending it.
An alarm sounded and in turn the entire area went into a blank room. From nearby Tenshin walked out as he glared at the three as they were getting back up. "Mother fucker." Asuka cursed as she got up.
"Would anyone like to explain to me what these three did wrong?" Tenshin asked as just then the Ash Warframe raised his hand.
"There Valkyr user charged into the fight without first using her other abilities to enhance her team, and waiting for the Trinity to use her own abilities for support." He began and in turn the Rhino spoke up.
"And the Excalibur didn't even bother using any of his abilities only his weapons, and neither he nor Fuse thought to use their Exalted Weapons and/or abilities." He spoke as Fuse was Asuka's call sign on account that she was a bit short tempered or in other words had a short fuse.
"They also constantly argued over team leadership which should be something already decided before they entered the battle." The Volt user spoke and thus Tenshin nodded to this.
"All excellent points." Tenshin said as Asuka sat down crossed legged with her arms crossed while Shinji looked ashamed for this via Excalibur with Rei being calm about it all.
"Hey we would have won if those two just followed my lead and didn't get in my way!" Asuka defended as Tenshin was not pleased by this mindset.
"That is precisely the problem from your part of it, you two head strong you try to claim glory without first considering the consequences of your actions. You seek to claim victory on your own and have been unwilling to work with or under others." Tenshin said scolding Asuka and then went to Shinji. "You have the opposite problem you are always second guessing pulling our punches when you don't need to, Shinji." Tenshin said as he began to scold the three Pilots turn Tenno. "Your enemies will not afford you any mercy so you must be willing to do what you must for victory." Tenshin said and thus he looked to Rei.
"So far you have been the most level headed of the three but you have room for improvement as well Rei." Tenshin said and thus Rei was ready for it. "Trinity was designed for support but there is events where Support will not do you good, hence why Tenno gather and acquire Warframe Parts and weapons to compensate for it." Tenshin said as many Tenno take missions with the hopes of finding more prints to construct more Warframes.
When he got no response besides a nod from Rei Tenshin in turn continued on. "This training exercise is over Team Sun is victorious." Tenshin said and thus the group were off.
(Later in the Lounge area)
The trio still in their frames were in a lounge area as Asuka was pasting back and forth clearly angry right now. "Who does that jerk think he is?!" Asuka yelled as she walked back and forth no doubt angry over this situation.
"He is speaking Truth Tenno Soryu seeing as Tenshin has trained all of the Tenno he no doubt knows what he is talking about." Rei explained as he looked to Asuka.
"Don't give me that crap just because you get perfect score teacher's pet!" Asuka yelled as she glared at Rei through Valkyr.
"I am simply detailing facts." Rei said calmly as she sat there not at all bothered by Asuka's glare or the fact her Frames Hysterics ability could tear hers limb from limb with its claws.
"Why you!" Asuka began and thus the two began to go back and forth with Shinji stuck in the middle of it. During this Shinji was trying to figure out a way to stop this but had no idea how to do so.
(Meanwhile with Misato and Tenshin)
"So they were that bad huh?" Misato said as Tenshin just given his report to Misato on the former EVA pilots while they sat at a table with Misato nursing a drink she has in her hands as he said, "Yes, each of them has a good understanding of their abilities, but they cannot apply it to their fights, nor can they establish which of them will lead the team, as well they seem they cannot overcome their own weakness which lead them of failing team work."
"I know what you means, before what had happen to us, during the angel wars I am the one that usually set up the plans and telling them what they should do, and it works, I even gotten Shinji and Asuka to work in sync with each other to fight against an angel that can literally split in two," Misato said as she remember that Dance-Dance revolution like system she set up to help make Shinji and Asuka move to the same beat, as she went on saying, "Shinji is kind hearted and doesn't want to fight if he can help it, Asuka is too head strong for her own good, and Rei… well she a bit of a mystery to be still but I do what I can for them."
"But sense you came to this time, and you cannot use a Warframe like them, nor see what they face in a mission, all you can do is just sit by and wait, most troubling it seems as their guardian, but there a time that even birds must spread their wings and leave the nest alone," Tenshin said as Misato nodded to this as she took a sip from her drink before she said, "But how can I leave it to them to do it on their own?"
"Well in trying times during certain situation, one will have to act on their own instinct to do what must be done, and to show that a problem cannot be done alone either," Tenshin said as Misato said, "So how could we do that? Put them in a locked room to make them figure out what to do?"
"Well that is one idea, but I would also think putting them into a Railjack crew can do the trick," Tenshin said as Misato looks at him and asked, "Railjack, what that?"
"A warship that was made during the Orokin-era with blue-prints made from its remains with many weapon that could face down a small fleet itself with a crew that knows how to use them," Tenshin said with Misato nodded as she took another slip of her drink as Tenshin went on saying, "But it has so position to cover as without a crew that can work together, the ship itself would only be a target by their enemies."
"Sound good, if they were a well experience with one, but setting them up in one at this point with any know the basic of what to do, they may as well be crashing into some random planet or moon," Misato said as she remember how Shinji work in a Evangelion the first few times, the first time he only taken a step before falling over, next up he could not move around as properly to fight against that tentacle like angel, yea she was afraid what could happen if the three of them were suddenly thrown into a Railjack without giving them proper training first for it.
"I know it's not the best solution and even having someone supervising them, it would be difficult to prove any results," Tenshin said as Misato said, "Well I got nothing else that could help."
"Then the only suggestion I have is let nature take its course, leave it up to fate and have they can overcome their own weakness when it comes to it as the only ones that can help them is themselves," Tenshin said as he knows there only so much he could teach someone, but sometimes the best teacher is life itself if they succeed or fail is all up to them with Misato said, "I guess you're right, just hope they don't die along the way."
"Even death could be a good teacher," Tenshin said as Misato glare at him when he said that, as he went on saying before Misato could say anything to him, "But it will not be theirs own deaths, that would occur."
"Oh like their Warframes, if they get destroy they will just be brought back to their own bodies," Misato said as she thought as she heard the about back feed Tenno would feel if their Warframe gets damage, even getting destroy could simulate dying in a way. But being in the safely in their transference pods and just replace the old Warframe, with Tenshin said, "That one way to look at it, but not want I meant, as they be fighting to save many lives, but they cannot save everyone."
Misato was surprise by that even its true, but she didn't want them to face something like that so soon to help them work together and overcome their problems as Tenshin said, "Not to worry, there still time for them to figure it out and hopefully it doesn't come down to that."
"I hope so," Misato as much as she want to help those three, she cannot follow where they are heading as right now the only thing she can do is wait and watch events play out. Then with a sigh she looked over to Tenshin and thus gave him a look. "Ok I need to ask and don't get offended but... how do you see through that thing?" Misato asked and thus Tenshin was silent about the subject oddly enough. He then took his leave as Misato felt like she stepped on a land mind there and was lucky to walk away unharmed. "Ok sorry I asked." Misato said as she then sighed missing her old rank and home.
"Guess the Hedgehogs followed us here huh." Misato said knowing of the Hedgehog Dilemma Ritsuko told her back then. In fact Misato had wished Ritsuko arrived here with them to help them out. At least her big brain could help enhance the Warframe's to fight the Angels.
(Scene Break Lua)
The Chroma Warframe sat upon a pillar of the Orokin Empires ruined Capital. Above him the Frame saw Earth as Lua circled around the planet orbiting it. In his hand was a book as he began to read it aloud to himself seemingly unaware of his audience nearby. "In the Hallowed time of night with Lua gracing he sky in the plains where Giants roam under Lua's glare the messenger shall arrive. When Lua sets and the sun rises it shall awaken and bring pain and suffering to the Unum and her people." He read before closing the book with a snap.
Just then the Khora Frame opted to speak up. "Ok I don't know how that book predicts these things attack or how it does it or if you just super lucky." The Female owner of the Warframe said through Khora.
"I don't predict I simply follow the guide of those who came before who were aware of the heavens trials." The Operator said through his Warframe as he stood back up.
"So Plains of Eidolon right, good to know." She began until the Chroma spoke up.
"The previous one will awaken on Venus you must be there to stop it." HE said as the Khora Frame stopped in her tracks.
"Kill joy." She pouted but took her leave to Venus instead of Earth knowing what was coming and willing to help Solaris United while she was there. Once she was gone the Frame looked to Earth and then reached his hand to it seemingly trying to reach out to something or someone on the planet.
(Scene Break Ikari/Ayanami/Soryu/Katsuragi homestead)
The trio had returned to their place of living as it was a quiet day for them. The Structure whom Rei had named Babel which was the name of the City/Tower that was to reach tower in Babylonia. An odd name but it suited the newly minted structure just find as it was tended to. Since Rei was the only one able to understand and interact with it she handled most of Babel's technical work while Asuka and Shinji took turns with the physical work. A month ago Babel was very weak but now she was shedding again producing healthy meat for the group to enjoy.
The Pen-Pen Tribe as Asuka had taken to calling it had yet to leave if they will ever do so hence why they had a pack of freeloaders on their property. Rei had taken to reading and understanding the words spoken in this world and had tried to teach it to Asuka so she can have something to read when not on mission or training. It was a slow process on her part but Asuka was figuring it out easily enough. Regardless of that Asuka was currently bored out of her mind as she was going through what her Cephalon had gotten on her current equipment. Other than Valkyr and Ember and the weapons she got from them Asuka was lacking very much on equipment.
When not training with Tenshin she had started doing missions to get the stuff she needed or wanted made and already she had two new Warframes in the works after running a great number of Venus Bounties and missions on Ceres as well as several weapons so she'd be set for life as it were. So far she had taken to listening to Space Radio Pirate Nora as opposed to TV. Apparently she sets up these goals and if you meet the goals you get mentioned and rewarded for it. Asuka had of course taken the challenge and had been noting the goals down so she can meet them. So far Asuka had received her reward via her mail and had been mentioned several times already as 'Fuse,' which was followed by what Warframe and gear she was using at the time.
Shinji and Rei were mentioned a couple times already but while Rei was called Wonder Girl Shinji was being called the quiet dreamer. Asuka of course had gotten a good laugh out of that. As they were all gathered in the room with Shinji working on lunch Rei came in from Babel's interface room and looked to everyone.
"Babel is healing splendidly and wants to consider her shedding's as her thanks." Rei said as the shedding's after being stripped of meat was added as walls for their home.
"Yeah if she wanted to be thankful she could have cleaned up the stuff herself." Asuka said whole growling over the chore.
"Asuka she has no arms to do it herself and she does keep Grineer from entering this place to cause harm." Shinji said knowing full well the Grineer had to be chased out when they stumbled upon this place.
"Then why do we have to do it!? I mean its Wonder Girls pet bio building!" Asuka argued on this over having to clean up after the structures cast of skins.
"It's bad enough I had deal with those Pen-pens taking over the hot spring bath, but I'm also dealing with no control heating or A.C to this place, and I have to clean its peeling skin!" Asuka said with Rei looks at her and said in a calming down, "If we don't do this we won't have anything to eat, Babel can also help us by warning us of any dangers if we keep him maintain and clear of its shed skin, as well while Shinji take care of the cooking provided by this, I can communicate with Babel, and Misato is busy with other matters, it comes down to you to take care of the uptake of the skin itself while Shinji is helping despite it's not his duty to do so. If you do not enjoy this, would you prefer to switch with Shinji and cook the meals?"
Asuka didn't say a word to this as she just got frustrated, suck it up and keep on the skin shedding duty while Shinji look to Rei and said, "Thanks Rei for your help."
"I just pointed out what is needed to be done, now excuse me I'm needed elsewhere," Rei said as she went off leaving them to take care of the shed skin.
(Later)
With Shinji, Asuka, and Rei were done with their choirs, they were pretty much going over much of the Duty of the Tenno they had made for themselves after awaken long after the old war, but it's mostly keeping balance with the big three.
That being the Grineers, the Corpus, and lastly them the Tenno themselves, as neither Corpus or the Grineer would give up their greed or desire, they will keep doing what they will always do and that mostly causing chaos and destruction across every systems of the void.
The Grineer they get right away they are a war mongrel race that are rule by two Queen, and that's made up clones with cybernetic enhancements and replacement due to the cloning process developed mutation and defection of missing a leg, an arm, or part of a face or stomach so they build them into each Grineer into becoming a blood thirsty being, but there are few exceptions to this, due to the defect of the cloning, some developed a resistant to their blood thirsty ways, and disobey any order given by stronger Grineer and the rumored Grineer Queens, deserting their faction and become a new group known as the Steel Meridian.
The corpus faction, as far they know, they were a business merchant group that thrive off of battles and wars, trading to world for more supplies to protect themselves from threat of the Grineers and other enemies, in return a large sum of money or valuable things they could make profit off of, but it seems not everyone agrees to this and so a splinter group broke off from corpus and become the Perum Sequence, they were merchant group as well but more for the better of things.
Both of these splitter and deserter groups have allied themselves with the Tenno help developed new technology and equipment to help the Tenno fight against the threats of both Grineer and Corpus, as well the greatest threat that goes above them, the Sentient.
The Sentient had the three former Eva pilots the most worry about, Machine with A.I that became aware and rebel against their creators, the Orokin.
Even after the old war has been won by the Tenno that the Orokin commanded, they had fallen, to a hidden enemy that was within their ranks, destroy their command and have them turn on each other as not long after that, the Tenno were taken away, hidden among many systems, planets, or moons before The lotus had help awaken them to save them.
The hidden enemy that brought down the Orokin was a Sentient that looked exactly like them, meaning that they would do anything to win even after being defeated in the old war, and it wasn't stopping there, as they declare that the Tenno were also their enemies due to they were created by the Orokin and were the last evident of the Orokin had ever existed as they wish to wipe the slate clean of anything that was dealing with the Orokin that included the Tenno.
What worst, they seem to have found the angels, or their remains, created and weaponized them for their own use, and they don't even know if they are sent out that one angel as their first step, or a test and send out an improve version of it. Either way it's not great news for anyone as there were at least 14 other angels to deal with. At last that was all according to Rei seeing as she told some detail about the angel attacks. That was also factoring in the Sentient even got the other Angels. There were a few Angels that would be hard to acquire, mainly the 6th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 17th Angels. Strange enough Shinji and Asuka only remembered the 6th and 11th Angel battles, the other three were nonexistent. Just then the group heard the door open and in turn looked and saw Misato walk in.
"I'm home!" Misato called out carrying a few large boxes in her hands.
"Welcome back." Shinji greeted from his spot on dinner.
"Hey what you got there?" Asuka asked as she looked over to Misato.
"Cloths." Misato said as she dropped down the outfits for the group. "I've been asking around and luckily manage to get a good deal on these things." Misato said and not even a moment after she put the boxes down Asuka was on them all but leaping at them like a cat.
"Mine!" Asuka called out only to be stopped by Misato.
"No dig through pick out what you want and then yours." Misato all but ordered causing a growl from Asuka. "Besides sure beats having to wear the same thing every day I mean seriously those suits are starting to wear and tear and build up a stink." Misato faux scolded as she looked to the group.
"Screw you there's no washing machine around here just a river and who knows what's in there." Asuka said not even factoring in that much of the water in the Plains of Eidolon tended to give those who splash in it a good shock.
"Just take what you want and change I want to see how you look in them." Misato said and in turn they all went to change their outfits. Luckily their food had a wait time before being tended to again so they had time to do so. "Asuka help Rei out in her outfit you know how she is." Misato said and in turn Asuka nodded.
"Got it!" Asuka called out and dragged off Rei to the room with a large armful out outfit pieces each. Taking his own Shinji went to his own room to change.
(Later)
Eventually one by one the Eva Pilots turned Tenno walked out as they presented their new outfits. The first to walk out was Rei as she was wearing an all-white outfit similar to her Plug suit. Her outfit seemed a majority came from the koppra set judging from the cuirass, leggings, and Faulds. But for shoulder it was clear it was the Vahd pauldrons and what appeared to be the open Koppra hood. Rei looked truly elegant like a young princess of Angels.
Next up came Shinji ash is outfit was modeled from his old Plugsuit but with a darker violet color that boarder lined black. He also had the Vahd pauldrons but also had its matching cuirass, but the main difference was the fact he was wearing armored grieves called the Zauba Greaves, and the Koppra Tassets. Misato had strategically made sure Shinji got those pieces as she felt the combination would look good on him.
Finally came Asuka as she was seen wearing her own thing in her plug suits own color scheme. Asuka was wearing the Koppra Hood but had it opened over the Zauba Cuirass. She stuck with the Zariman sleeves for her outfit but made use of the Zauba apparel and mixed it with the Ceno Grieves.
"Well don't you all look dashing?" Misato gushed as she looked to them.
"It's acceptable." Rei said as she looked herself over.
"Yeah after I had to all but force you into it." Asuka said but then inspected what Shinji was wearing. "Though I suppose you clean up nicely third." Asuka before taking her prideful pose with her hands on her hips. "Though not as good as mine." Asuka said with a grin her face and demeanor dripping with pride.
"Yeah but your outfit isn't ready yet Shinji... it needs something..." Misato said and in turn had it. "Oh this." Misato said taking out a black scarf with a gold object on both ends and handing it to Shinji.
"What is this?" Shinji asked as he looked it over.
"It's a scarf the guy I conned this err I mean got this off of said that it once belonged to a warrior named Umbra who was brave, loved, and respected. But the tragedy of it was that he was also betrayed by one he thought of as friend. Story has it that Umbra's warrior spirit still inhabits this scarf granting courage and strength to anyone who wears it." Misato said but Rei saw that Misato was making it up on the spot. Taking it Shinji began to wrap the scarf around his neck and looked shocked with how due to its size it covered his mouth as well. "Well how does it feel?" Misato asked and thus Shinji moved the scarf a bit to speak.
"It's oddly comforting." Shinji said as he felt there was a story behind this scarf and despite knowing Misato made it up Shinji could tell there was some unknown truth to her words.
"Gotta admit an improvement." Asuka said as she looked to Shinji and smiled at the fact the outfit not felt complete.
"Now then we got food to eat people!" Misato called out and in turn Shinji got back to cooking their food.
(Scene Break That Same Evening Plains of Eidolon)
All was quiet in the Plains as the people of Cetus and the members of the Babel Homestead were all either asleep or doing any tasks needed of them. All was seemingly peaceful and quiet. Even the Eidolons were calm doing their regular rituals when the moon rises. That was until it was suddenly halted as from the night sky a blazing fireball came down. It landed at the coast in the water where it caused a large splash upon impact that swept away anything close to the shore. As the water settled a large red egg like embryo was seen pulsing as many Grineer began to move in on the new arrival.
As the Embryo pulsed it was clear that after over a Month the Angel Wars continued as the Sentient of Tau sent forth another modified Angel down. Clearly the Sentient did not give up so easily, as the massive creature awaited for sun rise to carry out its task. Too bad for the creature the Unum Tower sensed its arrival and in turn contacted the Babel structure nearby to warn them what was coming.
(Back at the Babel Homestead)
Rei was aroused from her slumber by an alarmed screeching sound ringing in her mind. She cried out in shock and pain from it as it caused the inhabitance of the house to wake up. Rei shot up and stumbled around before she went to Babel's interface room.
"What's going on!?" Misato asked as she was awoken by Rei's screaming as were Shinji and Asuka.
"Danger." Rei struggled as she in turn interfaced with Babel to figure out what has him panicked. As Rei began to calm down Babel began to inform her what she had been informed of and what needed to be done. "We need must go to Cetus... now." Rei said and in turn Asuka was against this.
"But the sun isn't even up yet." Asuka said but Rei cut her off from further complaints.
"Angel." Rei said and in turn that was all Asuka needed to hear.
"Let's go." Shinji said as he began to head to their waiting Orbiters to load up and head into action.
(Scene Break Cetus)
The trio arrived via landing Crafts as one by one Excalibur, Valkyr, and Trinity came out and made a bee-line for Konzu. As they arrived it seems Konzu was just where he normally was if not slightly tired from a rude wake up call. "Ah Tenno good to see you arrived. I suppose you all heard the problem?" Konzu asked and thus Rei spoke up.
"Somewhat. All we know is that something has landed and has gotten the Unum Tower on edge." Rei explained and thus Konzu nodded.
"That's right, the Quills can't make heads or tails of it but whatever it is, the Grineer are flocking over to it like no one's business." Konzu said and in turn they all got the memo.
"We'll go check it out and if the Grineer want it we'll keep it from them." Shinji said ready to move out and take out the Angel before the Grineer could get to it.
"Good Bounty went in about an hour ago and you three were the first to take it big breakfast for Konzu." Konzu said and in turn they began to get moving.
(Later with the Tenno Plains of Eidolon)
The trio arrive at the location of the crashed angel, and by the look of things, they were too late getting their first as the Grineer have already arrive and started to secure it, and trying to strap it down to be taken somewhere, unaware of they are messing with as Rei said, "It seem we have come too late."
"Yeah, so what? We can wait for one of them to kill each other or something and just take care of the rest afterword's," Asuka said as unaware Rei had a different thought in mind as she said, "Maybe, but the plan is to destroy the angel. We can easily destroy while it's still vulnerable, with the Grineer seem to have no interest of destroying the angel but instead take for themselves, as if the angel awakens and change into its true form, there's no telling what powers this could have now."
"It might awaken anyways as if we go down there now, we were just be wasting time, fighting off those ugly bastards just to reach the angel and waste a lot of energy that we could save for that angel when it does wake up," Asuka countered as she also said, "And beside maybe the Grineer could lucky and weaken it for us."
"Or see what its capable of," Shinji said as Rei didn't say anything else as she just observe the sight as Asuka did have a point as it would be wasted energy trying to get to the angel as thing are with the Grineer down there with the angel as she said, "Then we should prepare ourselves, we have learn much before, but it doesn't mean we are fully prepared to fight it ourselves now it just the 3 of us with no other Tenno here to help."
"No need to tell me twice," Asuka said as she pull out her weapon as she has gotten more practice with it and she think she could give the angel or any other ones trouble with Shinji ready his sword as well knowing it knowing it was going to be a tough battle, as he still remember the fight with 2nd angel he face again, but this time there was no EVA to fight with, no one that could get in the way, no time limit to get the job done… and nothing else to hold him back.
For Rei she prepared herself as she knew everyone fire arms were already lock and loaded, and she was as prepared as everyone else as she pull out her weapon too as she knew the angel maybe awakening soon, just a matter of how this angel would be.
(With the Grineer)
The Grineer gotten the angel embryo tied down with a line to hall it off, until it pulse out, its sigh of awakening, as the angel was taking its shape from within as the Grineer saw this, they all prepared their weapon and aim it's at the embryo waiting for something to happen, suddenly, two energy tentacles emerge from the embryo itself and attack the Grineer around it while cutting the strap around it, with the Grineer commander call out to attack, all the Grineer open fire upon it.
The shots themselves were being stop by a A.T field the angel has somehow created while still in its embryo state, while it use its tentacles to free itself as the shell of the embryo breaks apart and from it a familiar pinkish angel has come forth and with an upgrade no doubt the Sentient doing as tis head part has a similar armor with a skeleton technology structure around its worm like body like Sachiel did and with a few new parts to it as two more tentacles came forth and started to swat the Grineer forces around it away.
(With the trio)
"That's the angel?" Asuka said as she sounded a bit disturb by its look as to her, it just seem like a gross tentacle rape monster she...saw in a book she had in her collection during the first angel war, but more dick-ish like which is he disturbing part about it, with Rei said, "Shamshel the 4th angel."
"Well It's safe to say that they are smaller than they originally was, but it's also different from before as well," Shinji said as he look to the angel while it fought against the Grineer as he remember those tentacle weapons well, and the extra pair were something new as well as Asuka said, "Yea but it seem those sentient are dumb asses as they didn't covers it basic weak spot. We just have to nail that core and it's done for."
"Maybe but it may not be easy as no doubt we would have a similar problem like the first of getting pass it's A.T field and have our shield recharge while avoid its attack which may not be as successful," Rei said as Shinji ask, "Is there a way we can distract it or something?"
Asuka was thinking the same thing as she look towards the Grineer, as they were still holding out against the angel, even some getting out of the way of the angel attacking it as Asuka said, "The Grineer are already distracting it now, if we go now, we could slip on through while the angel attack the Grineer while protecting us with tis A.T field, it won't know what hit it."
"Then let go before it's too late," Shinji said as rei nodded as it wasn't the best plan but it was the only plan they got, as they haven't seen any special attacks but it could be safe to say that the only thing special thing would be those extra tentacles.
The Trio ran for it to reach the angel so they can bypass it's AT field while they also come up with a plan of attack, with the Grineer also noticing them, they open fire at them to kill off their most hated enemy even if they are being attacked by the angel at the moment.
Jumping, leaping, and soaring pass the Grineer to reach the angel as they avoid fighting the Grineer as they could as the more of them there are, the most like they would keep the angel distracted long enough for them to kill it while they get wipe out themselves.
It wasn't long until they arrived and in turn was faced with the monster. "Hey it has Sentient crap on it." Asuka said as she saw the Sentient modifications made on the angel. "So Shinji how did you beat it last time?" Asuka said as the last battle was before she joined them.
"I... I got lucky." Shinji confessed as they saw the Angel was ready to attack.
"Great so let's hope we can one up this mother fucker." Asuka said with a flat tone before Rei saw it.
"Move!" Rei ordered and in turn the Angel attacked no doubt spotting them. The group avoided the energy whip the Angel had and saw how it not only slammed into the ground but sliced into it. Knowing they would be best to avoid it they began their attack. Rei ran around the Angel firing her sniper off upon it as she ran. The bullet hit the AT-Field and thus let her know that the Angel did in fact have it.
Nearby Shinji kept his distance as he looked at the Angel who he burned his hands to beat. While running he slid to the ground and got to cover as he looked from his spot. "Look like it still has its AT-Field seems stronger than before." Shinji said as he looked to the Angel in question.
"Yeah I can see that." Asuka said from nearby as she ran around the Angel using her Lecta to try and keep ahead of the bastard. "The question is whose going to be the idiot who runs in and neutralizes the AT-Field?" Asuka asked as she then got to cover as well. "The Grineer can hammer at it all they want but they don't have the NERV tech we used back then to neutralize AT-Fields." Asuka said as she knew they needed a plan of attack.
"We will need to exercise caution, those Tendrils will no doubt force us to retreat before we can neutralize the AT-Field. In other words one of us will have to gain its attention and the other will have to keep the tendrils from the third." Rei said as it was more or less similar to the previous plan.
"What about the Grineer?" Shinji asked getting their attention. "I mean the Grineer already have its attention all we need to do is get the tendrils." Shinji said and in turn they were forming a plan.
"Yeah well who would be dumb enough too even?" Asuka began only for Rei to bolt on by for one of the Tendrils. "Well then I guess she is." Asuka said and in turn she got moving. Shinji and Asuka soon joined in as the Angel took note of the three. It then proceeded to use a Tendrils to get at them and in turn Rei proceeded to dodge it. Thus Shinji and Asuka together were both forced into the Angels line of sight and begun its attack. The two dodged it as Rei vanished on them once more as the duo noted how quiet she was. As they got the Angels Shinji and Asuka needed a plan to get the Tendrils on them. The only way they could think of was to let it grab them.
Seeing that it was their only option the two acted fast and in turn went for it. Using her grappling hook based ability Asuka swung around the area to keep the Angels attention on her. Providing her with aid was Shinji as he fired his rifle off on the Angel getting its attention on him. As the two moved it wasn't long until the Angel sent its tendril at Shinji grabbing him by the stomach and pulling at him. Shinji yelped in shocked as the Angels whip swung him around.
'Ok I got it now what?' Shinji wondered and in turn looked nearby to the rocks and started to form an idea. "Asuka I know what to do follow my lead!" Shinji called out and in turn he drew his Exalted Blade and proceeded to stab it into the stone with pone hand while grabbing the Tendrils with the other.
"Oh I see!" Asuka said as she then used the ability War Cry and thus the Angel saw her. In response the angel grabbed her arm and began to swing her around causing her to cry out in shock. As she got swung she then activated Hysterics to extend her Warframe's claws for her next big act. Asuka proceeded to lodge the Claws into the stone she was passing and thus held the Angel there. "Ok Wonder Girl hurry up will you!" Asuka yelled as she tried to hold on.
Just then Rei bullet jumped to the battle as she then met the Angels AT-Field with her Warframe's Shields. The Shields drew from her Void Energy and in turn built to critical mass. Much like before the shield went off and cancelled out the Angels AT-Field leaving it vulnerable in this regard. The blast that resulted from it made a smokescreen giving Rei the perfect cover to make the shots without any retaliation from the Angel. Once that was done Rei jumped back and with her rifle fired off precise shots upon the Angel where the Core was. The bullets flew fast and true and in the end hit their target as intended. Once Rei landed Shinji and Asuka were freed as they began to make their way to Rei.
"Nice shot." Asuka said as she looked to the Angel who was no doubt dead. "I mean I'd probably pull it off better but nice shot." Asuka said but Shinji was oddly quiet as was Rei.
"No... Something isn't right that was too easy." Shinji said as Asuka looked to Shinji.
"Oh come on all you had to do was stab it with a knife I doubt it would survive a shot like that." Asuka said but it seems that would not be the case.
Just then the trio heard movement and from the smoke more tendrils shot out and attacked them. They were forced to move and avoid them and as the smoke screen cleared they saw the Angel rise back up. Only this time some of its skin began to peel away going from looking like a male genitalia to some form of Sentient creation. Apparently the Sentient made this one more like an Eidolon with Eldritch based design as they saw its Core was hovering where the Sentient Core was normally at. It more or less looked like its previous form but looked more insect like to go with it instead of its prior form.
"Oh no," Rei said as there was no recorded of such angel that could do this as it seem the angel form was just the first stage of its evolution after waking from its embryo state, and with this it may be even stronger than before with Asuka sounding piss off by this as she said, "What the hell that fucking cheating! It's supposed to die, not change!"
"Suddenly there were explosions and gun fire happening upon the angel, as the trio look to see, the Grineers has return with back up and throwing everything they can at the angel, even though it's AT field is gone, its body was still durable to withstand the Grineers attack, as Shinji being surprise by this as he thought the Grineer would attack anything and everything to be their enemies, but instead they are ignoring them and attacking the angel instead as he said, "They are fighting it instead of us?"
"They may see the angel as a bigger threat. Let us taking this time to recover and readjust our plans," Rei said as suddenly Misato came onto their coms, as it seem she is able to see what's happening as she said, "You three need to fall back now."
"Misato?" Shinji said he is surprise she talking with them right during a battle now as this is being the first time in a long time as Asuka said, "What the hell do you mean fall back? That thing is still standing."
"I know I can see it well enough from your Warframe perspective, and I am ordering you to retreat. We don't know what its capable right now, and you three may not be enough to kill it," Misato said shocking the group as it usually do or die situation, but now she's ordering a retreat as she went on saying, "Fall back now and I'll call in for help. Just wait for reinforcement to arrive."
"But what about Cetus?" Shinji said as if they leave now, they could ended up dooming the city as Misato said, "Leave it to the Grineer to distract it long enough, hopefully other Tenno would arrive before then."
The call soon ended as Rei said to the other, "Let move quickly. We may not have a lot of time."
"I hate running away from a fight!" Asuka said as she and Rei soon ran off with Shinji still standing in place as what Asuka said struck an old cord within him 'Running away' as he stand there and watch as the Grineers stand their ground to fight the angel as it was fighting back and slowly whipping them out a bit out a time as they stood no chance against it.
The destruction the angel is causing, how the angel attacks and destroying everything, as lives doesn't matter to it, the only thing that matter to it, is the goal it has, whatever it could be, it won't stop until everything is gone.
Shinji mind thinking back to the past during the first angel wars, how the angel just attack, without remorse, how the story of Toji's sister was hurt during the first fight, he still remember the angry look upon his face when eh told him it was Shinji fault.
Everything rushing through Shinji mind all at once, how he just wanted to help, to make up for the trouble he cause, for running away when he should have stay and fight, the Grineer maybe their enemies, but they don't deserve this, the people of Cetus didn't deserve to be attacked by the angel, he want to fight, he need to fight.
At that point the Excalibur started to give off a glow of void energy, an overcharge of power as if something was understanding him, his frustration, his fears, his pain, everything about the angels, it was granting Shinji the power to fight, with a unknown voice spoken to him with no sense of gender or depths just a voice in the void as it said, "Protect what matter to you Tenno."
At that point Shinji look straight at the angel and give his battle cry as he rush at it without thinking of a plan, he was just going to do it, as the other heard him yell out, they stop and turn to see what is happening and to their surprise to see Shinji coming at the angel instead of falling back like Misato said to do as Asuka said, "What is that baka doing?"
At this point, the angel felt the present of the Tenno, looking around and saw Shinji coming at him and soon turn its attack onto him as the tentacles came forth.
"Shinji what are you doing? Fall back!" Misato spoken to him, but Shinji didn't respond, heck know where all the power he is producing is coming from, he didn't know what could be helping him, but he didn't care about that, he care about stopping the angel before it cause any more destruction as by instinct he dodge the tentacles left and right without missing a beat.
The angel sent all of its tentacles at Shinji all at once, as it seem to hopefully stop him before he could reach it, as with that all the tentacles came at once with Asuka and rei were shock by this, thinking the Warframe is about to be crush, but at that moment as the tentacles came down upon him, at that moment, Shinji drew his Exalted Blade and cut all the tentacles at once as he still rushes the angel.
At that point the angel soon backed away, in fear or to regenerate is lost parts, but whatever it could be it was moving away from Shinji with Asuka said, "What is the hell is going on? That angel is now scare of him!?"
"Whatever is happening to Tenno Shinji, it seem to be making an opening to the angel itself, if we attack now we may be able to defeat the angel," Rei suggest, as now Rei is thinking should they attack or keep falling back on Misato's order?
(The fight)
Shinji keep running at the angel as its suddenly was charging up an attack from its core and fire a beam at him, as it reach him, Shinji shield was able to withstand it while using his Exalted Blade to stop most of the blast as well but it slow him down enough for the angel to regain its tentacles and about to attack him again until it found itself being under attacked, getting hit by gun shots and explosions.
The Grineer may have regroup again to attack once more, but it wasn't just them, it was Rei and Asuka that was providing the best fire support as they were firing everything they had at the beast as Asuka yell out, "Get some!"
At that point, Shinji was able to break free of the beam shot and rush at the angel, leaping upon its body as he keep going and going until he reach the core itself, giving out a mighty cry before he raise his Exalted Blade and stab it deep within the core, but he didn't stop that, as he release all of the void energy that was build up inside of him and let it all out at once as the angel core was changing from red to a bright purple color.
The angel itself cry out in pain as it felt the void energy entering its body, breaking down all the sentient technology that was within its body, and the armor as well as it was breaking apart before it soon exploded in bright light.
All the gun fire stop, everything was silent, as the light itself shine brightly like the sun as it illuminate Cetus, and all the land around, and the red waters seem to have turn blue for a moment before the light died down and everything.
Rei and Asuka lower their arms to keep the light out of their site and see what just happen, as they saw the angel was dead with its body now a pile of chard remain, the only thing that wasn't, was the core of the angel that sat on top of the remains, and standing on top of it was the Excalibur Warframe, as it was standing still.
With all the Grineer just saw what just happen, as normally, they would attack the Tenno they see before them, but after what they just saw, they went on a full retreat not wanting to fight against an enemy that wipe out a giant enemy at once, with Asuka and rei watching them run away, they approach the remains of the angel as Asuka said, "He destroy the angel by himself."
"He must have overloaded the angel with void energy thus destroy its body and neutralize the core," rei said as she saw the core was damage and not its normal color either as the two arrive before the angel remain, Asuka call out, "Hey Shinji Baka, how long are you going to stand there gloating? Get down here!"
After that Asuka kick at the remains, breaking a small part of it which caused a chain reaction. Parts started to break apart with the remains started to fall down. In response the two girl back away before anything could fall on them. They watched as the core started to fall as well, all the while the Excalibur Warframe still didn't move. It just fell down with it before it started to free fall as Rei saw the Excalibur was not responding still as she said, "He still not moving, that last attack may have drain all of his void energy."
"That baka!" Asuka said as soon enough the two acted quickly as the core came down first with the Excalibur Warframe still falling, but was soon caught by the two girl before it hit the ground before setting him down, as they look down at it waiting for Shinji to respond, but Asuka gotten tired of waiting as she said to the Warframe while giving it a punch, "Wake up baka Shinji!"
Soon enough power seem to have come back to the Excalibur as Shinji groin a bit and said, "W-what?"
"It seems he was disconnected for a bit." Rei said as she looked to Shinji honestly glad he's ok.
"That was stupid you know." Asuka said but was happy to see Shinji was alright.
"I know." Shinji admitted but he then looked to Asuka. "But I had to do it... not for the people of Cetus but for those who aren't here." Shinji said as the two girls knew what he meant.
"Yeah you don't actually realize we're this far into the future until it really sinks in." Asuka said agreeing with Shinji as to this day she still had trouble believing this was happening to them.
"Regardless." Rei said as she had to note of one important aspect of this situation. "We are here now and from there we must find a way to adapt and find our purpose in this world." Rei said as she looked to the duo before remembering something. "We should probably leave though before the Grineer regain their wits and come after us." Rei said and thus they were in agreement.
"Right." Shinji nodded and thus the trio were off to make their escape before the Grineer could rally.
(Scene Break Strata Relay Earth)
After the Tenno had took their leave and boarded their Orbiters they headed to meet with Misato at the Relay. After the Lotus had confirmed they were ok Misato had a few choice words for them. Thus as they arrived Misato saw them and charged at them. Asuka and Rei expected the worse as Rei knew what happened the last time Shinji disobeyed orders like that. But instead of a slap or a yell Misato hugged Excalibur surprising the girls.
Shinji himself even through the Transference pod was surprised to see Misato do this before looking to her. "Don't you, ever do something that reckless again." Misato scolded him but her tone suggested otherwise. "You have no idea how worried I was for you." Misato said making sure Shinji knew he wasn't exactly in trouble.
"I'm sorry." Shinji said looking down but Misato wasn't going to let that get him down.
"Shinji I'm not scolding you." Misato said trying to make sure he knew this wasn't him in trouble. "Yes you disobeyed orders but..." Misato began but had trouble finding the words. "Look Shinji if you got hurt or worse... I don't know what I would do, if it were up to me you'd never have been using the EVA or these Warframes." Misato said surprising Shinji she was that worried for him. "Just promise me next time you will be more careful." Misato said and in turn Shinji nodded to him.
"I promise, Misato." Shinji responded and in turn Misato smiled.
"Good, now other than that, good job you three." Misato said as she looked to the Tenno. "Wonder Girl, Fuse." She began looking to Rei and Asuka in that order. "And Rize." Misato finished as she looked to Shinji.
"Rize, like with a Z?" Asuka asked as she didn't get it.
"Yeah because Shinji rises to the occasion, henceforth Rize." Misato said with a mischievous smiled on her face showing she already started spreading it around.
"Well it was a better name then Wonder Girl." Rei said and in turn Asuka heard this.
"Hey are you implying that..." Asuka began but then realized what Rei said and did. "Wait back up did you just make a quip?" Asuka asked shocked over what Rei had just did there. In response all Rei did was remain quiet but Asuka swore that Rei was smiling from her Transference Pod.
"So um was there anything else, Misato?" Shinji asked as he looked to Misato.
"Not that was it Shinji." Misato said and in turn smiled to the trio. "You're free to go." Misato said as she then saw how they nodded and walked off. As they left Misato then saw Tenshin approaching and thus Misato sighed knowing what this is about. "Let me guess you're going to tell me to stop hiding the truth from them." Misato said figuring the old Dax out.
"Among other things, not knowing the truth is holding back their full power." Tenshin said as he knew how powerful they could be and that was without factoring in any possible powers provided by Instrumentality.
"But knowing the truth could push them back over the edge." Misato said knowing that with these three this void in their memories was a blessing in disguise.
"But if you continue to hide this and they learn the truth despite it you risk pushing them further pass the edge." Tenshin said as he glared at Misato to hide the truth from the Tenno.
"The Pain of regret and self-loathing by telling them of what happened, or the pain betrayal that I knew at the end of the day it's just a lose/lose situation." Misato said and thus proceeded to take her leave. After all she had her own things to look into and one of them involves the Orokin. But as she left she couldn't help but agree with Tenshin on this, but how can someone even do it. How can she tell Shinji that he destroyed the world because the people who were supposed to love, care, and protect him pushed him well beyond his limit? Misato had honestly wished Shinji had never came to Tokyo-3 to begin with that way he would be spared of the misery it brought him. Regardless Misato had a job to do but something about the Tenno bugged her. Their Warframes reminded her too much of an Evangelion to be a coincidence and one she could not ignore so easily.
