Ch. 5 The Top 3

I hope you all enjoyed the previous chapters and learning about Toya and how he became known as the villain Dabi and the reasons for his descent into madness. We also got to learn more about the Todoroli family and was able to see how those events changed that family.

The chapter you are about to read now will be featuring the conversation between the top 3 heroes and discussing the state of society and see what they will do moving forward. Hawks will also start to ask about Izuku's quirk One For All and he will make the conclusion about it and what it has to do with Shigaraki.

I will get back to you all at the end of the chapter to share my thoughts on it and what we will be looking at going forward in the future chapters of this story. See you at the end of the chapter and hope you enjoy this one as well.

We arrive back at Enji's hospital room where him and his family finished discussing what happen to Toya and what their plan is moving forward and that is when Hawks and Best Jeanist come in saying pardon us, we couldn't help but overhear, may we accompany you on your proposed family outing.

Shoto says "Best Jeanist and Hawks" and Rei looks surprised at what they are doing here and realizes what her son did to them. Hawks tells Endeavor "since I was discharged yesterday, I've been running around gathering intel." Rei bows her head to them and apologizes by saying "'m terribly sorry for what our son did to you" and Hawks tells her "no, no, no, I ain't here to give you grief about that and there is no need to apologize ma'am."

Best Jeanist reaches down to help her up and says "we are only here to inquire about Dabi but eavesdropping feels criminal like illegal denim." Best Jeanist says "the root cause of you son's grudge could provide a lead in this investigation. We can ask him directly about how he survived the blaze and transformed completely into Dabi."

Best Jeanist tells Endeavor "I used to watch old videoes of you Endeavor" and then Hawks says "so to hear how that obsession from your younger days grew into all of this was quite shocking." Endeavor is silent after but Hawks continues on and says "now this didn't come up in your discussion about Toya but, Shoto's burn here was that also you Endeavor?" Rei then interjects and says "that was me" and Shoto reflects on that.

Hawks recalls Rei saying "despite having every right to resent me, he's started calling me mom again" and Hawks thinks about his parents and says "I see." Hawks tells Shoto "I never really got to face my folks like that. I gave up on them, moved on and left them behind." Shoto is shocked at hearing Hawks talk about his parents and Hawks tells him "Shoto, you're a class act."

Hawks tells Endeavor "it's hell out there" to which Endeavor replies with "I know." Hawks says "Shigaraki, Dabi, Himiko Toga, Spinner, Skeptic, pus 132 of the Liberation Front members who escapred, and seven near High-End Nomu are all on the loose." Hawks also says "furthermore, Shigaraki and the nomu smashed up Tartus and six other prisons freeing over 10,000 convicts. With the core members of the Heroes Public Safety Commission dead or in the hospital, they've lost the power to organize heroes. And many have chosen to retire spurred on by the nasty climate.

Hawks also goes on to say "villains are more daring than ever, and the citizens who've lost faith in the heroes are taking up arms but by fighting back themselves, they're only wreaking damage and destruction." Hawks also says "our government has put in requests for relief workers ad heroes from around the world but with the safety commission shut down, the paperwork needed to dispatch heroes isn't getting done."

Endeavor is silent again after hearing all the strife the city and the civilians is going through and Hawks goes on to say "all of that in just the past two days, and just as your wife said, your only option is to fight on." Hawks again says "but we will too, the responsibility isn't yours alone number one" to which Best Jeanist says "and we can't have your family shouldering the entire burden."

Endeavor asks them "why would you" to which Hawks tells him "even if what Dabi says about the Todoroki family is true, I know things are different now." Hawks also says "and I'm going to lend my full support to anyone trying to be better." Hawks then proposes a team up of the top three heroes to which Best Jeanist says "I've put my life in Hawks' from the start and I'm accustomed to walking down hellish catwalks such as this."

Hawks then tells him "now that we and your family have lightened your load, do you think you can stand up and move forward" to which Endeavor who is crying at this point says "yes." His family is glad to see he got his fighting spirit back but Natsuo who is still conflicted about his dad says "this is only until we stop Toya got" to which Endeavor tells him "yes."

Hawks tells Endeavor "sorry if I seem pushy but first it's your duty to provide the people with an explanation. Now that Dabi's accusation is public, there's no avoiding it. I've already thought up a statement more or less but there's one point I'm still fuzzy on." "One For All, what is it exactly?"

Fuyumi then says "that reminds me, she recounts when they were on they way to the hospital and they were saying I guess the only people entering the central hospital right now are connected to the heroes inside. The press asked them while facing off Shigaraki, Endeavor muttered a mysterious phrase. What does One For All mean? Is it somehow related to the supervillain known as All For One. Fuyumi says let's get in there quickly.

Hawks tells Endeavor "One For All, right now we need to now what that means." Endeavor recounts when he first engaged Shigaraki at the battle; "attention all Endeavor here. I've engaged Shigaraki at the hospital ruins." Shigaraki says One For All to which Endeavor repeats it. Endeavor recalls Izuku saying sorry for using the private frequency but, there is a chance that Shigaraki is after me specifically. Endeavor tells them Deku.

We cut to another area of the hospital where we seeing Bakugo yelling "Dammit Freaking Deku!" He says "why'd you get to snooze when I'm awake." Mineta, and Sato is carrying him away with Tsuyu wrapping him up in her tongue. Mineta tells Bakugo to "stop shouting" with Sato saying "little hard to grieve with this guy up and about." Tsuyu tells Uraraka, Iida, and Izuku's mom sorry about his behaviour. Uraraka thanks her for holding him up, and Inko says at last some relief.

Tenya says "I feared for the worst when I saw those wounds but…" and Uraraka finishes him by saying "he's noisier than ever, huh." Jiro approaches Iida and Uraka saying that "Tokoyami and Kaminari are cleared for release." Jiro says "his body's okay at least right" and Uraraka says "that's what they say." Uraraka says "I'm worried" with fear and uncertainty on her face.

The students see Best Jeanist and Hawks walking down the hall towards Izuku's room and Hawks says "what's up." Best Jeanist then says "Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, you're all right" to which Bakugo says to him "do I look all right to you."

Hawks says "we'd like to speak with Izuku Midoriya" and Tenya says to him "actually All Might asked to be alone with him for now." Hawks narrows his eyes at that statement and says "All Might you say." We then head inside Izuku's room where we once again seeing All Might on one side of Izuku's bed and Pony on the other side. All Might says "I can feel it, the version of me dwelling inside the boy… inside One For All…" "Right now you must be talking with the predecessors."

We have reached the end of another chapter in this story and now we will see the top three heroes coming up with a plan to combat the villains and restore society and their faith in heroes.

Hawks is starting to make the connection between One For All and Izuku Midoriya and his suspicions are confirmed when he cannot talk with Izuku because All Might asked for privacy.
